✧0.8| Patronus & Apologies

"And i'm not saying they should have attacked you, but what you said was completely cruel and far from called for. Bodyshaming Mrs.Weasley like that, you should be ashamed of yourself, she would have taken you into her home and knitted you a sweater if you hadn't had anywhere to go." Evie lectured Draco for what felt like hours as he laid upon her chest in the hospital wing, all bruised and in pain, listening to her heartbeat quicken when she got angrier, "And mocking Harry's dead mother? Are you kidding me? You better apologize."

"I am not apologizing." Draco said back to her nearly as quickly as she got her comment out.

"Then you better stay away for a while, rude boy, I can't believe you did that." Evie rolled her eyes as he nuzzled into her more, "Of all things, you did that."

"Evie, i'm in so much pain." Draco moaned, though he wasn't feeling the best, he was clearly pushing it just to get her to stop talking.

"I know, and i'm gonna talk to the both of them and stress that violence is not a way to go." Evie said with a roll of her shiny eyes, "Merlin, how disappointed the universe must be in everyone tonight."

"Evieee." Draco cooed her name out as he moved uncomfortably, "I'm never going to recover, they could have killed me."

"Well, you are some what right." Evie said as his head flew up, knocking her in the jaw as she groaned slightly, "Punches to the abdomen lead to a high chance of internal bleeding but Madam Pomfrey says you are okay, just bruised and sore for a while."

Draco let out a dramatic moan again as he knocked her in the jaw with his head again making Evie huff, "Wait until my father hear about this."

"Yes, I know." Evie said as she rubbed his shoulders, "Your infamous words."

"Bet you're gonna take your boyfriend, Potters, side." Draco said bitterly, not moving from his position he was in, comfortable and gently laying on her in a very comforting and nurturing way.

"Hilarious." Evie rolled her eyes at his words as if he told a joke, "You act as if you haven't ruined the idea of boyfriends for me."

"I did not." Draco argued, his words muffled.

"You did." Evie corrected him, hoping he'd fall asleep soon with her gentle strokes on the back of his head, "But it's okay, I don't blame you for it, not anymore."

Draco said something incoherent as his eyes fell shut, listening to Evies heartbeat slow down once more in a more rhythm tone rather then the angry one he was listening to moments before.

Harry's eyes followed Evies ever step the next day when she walked into the Room Of Requirements. Most of the time she's hold a small, dazed look across her face before she found his eyes and hurried over. Today was different, today she had tired eyes and didn't once look his way as she made her way toward Lavender.

"Sorry i'm a little late." Evie apologized to the blonde as she set her books down, "Long night."

"It's okay." Lavender said with a small smile as she left Padams side to join Evie, "We're working on Patronus."

"Already?" Evie asked with a shocked blink, not expecting it to be here all ready. Lavender gave her a small nod as the two headed for the floor, Harry's voice suddenly filling Evies ears.

"A full bodied Patronus is the most difficult to produce." the Potter boy spoke as he circled through the groups of two, "But shield forms can also be equally useful against a verity of opponents."

A horse noise came through the air as the bright light emerged from Ginny Weasleys wand, her patronus being a horse.

"Fantastic Ginny!" Harry announced in glee to the redhead girl who flushed slightly under his praise, "Just remember your patronus can only protect you for as long as you stay focus, so stay focused!"

"A happy memory, I can do that." Evie said, though her words were unsure. Lavender gave her a small smile as she began working on her own. Evie shut her eyes, trying to pull a happy moment from her mind but failing horribly.

"Evie." Harry spoke as he appeared before her when the girl opened her eyes, "Struggling?"

"Forgive me for not being able to think of a happy memory right now." her words were bitter and angry. She didn't completely blame Harry, she blamed George and Draco too. She didn't know why she held more anger toward the Potter boy, possibly because she expect better or because he held the one trait she wished he wouldn't.

Violence.

It was easy for Evie to like Harry, he was calm and avoided his anger. While he snapped at times, Evie hadn't seen him be physical, not like he was yesterday that was. With Draco it was easy to be by his side, he spoke a lot of rubbish and made people believe he had the power to fight, but deep down he was a coward and wouldn't throw a punch at anyone because of fear. Evie hated physical violence for many reasons, many reasons she just wasn't ready to talk about yet.

"Could we talk for a moment?" Harry asked her hopefully. Evie wanted to deny him so horribly bad but let her head nod instead of shake, walking toward a more private corner of the room awkwardly as Harry cleared his throat.

"What is it?" Evie asked, seeing as though he just rocked on his heels oddly and cleared his throat many times.

"I can see you're anger." he said, Evie scoffed as she opened her mouth to say something before he cut her off quick, "I'm just not sure why, I figured the much you had moved on from him by now."

Evie stared at him for a moment, for the first time in forever she was speechless, "You've got to be kidding me."

"What?" Harry asked in a quick panic when he realized maybe he'd gotten it all wrong, realizing he definitely got it all wrong.

"It's not about just Draco, it's about the fact that you attacked someone in that- that- that vicious and forceful way." her words hit him, he didn't think it would have bothered her as much as it did but the way she stared at him was enough to say it was, "What he said was wrong and cruel and I wouldn't have blamed you if you had said something just as horrible back.... but hurting him? Physically? That's not the answer to anything, you don't understand."

It seemed as though she was speaking on two sides now. She wasn't just saying he didn't understanding her, she was saying he didn't understand Draco either. Harry sighed as he looked as her, "I'm sorry, I didn't know."

"That's the problem, you don't know and you act on your instance anyways." Evie backed away when he reached for her, a shake of her head, "You don't come from a good family either, you should know that there should be a line between getting physical and angry."

It felt like she slapped him again. He deserved her hurtful words, he needed to be reminded of the Dursley's right about now. Harry felt his heart tighten as Evie stared at him with the odd, unreadable expression. She seemed upset and angry all in one, ashamed and disappointed laced within her pools of blue. Non of that hurt Harry as much as the faint look of fear she held, not knowing if she held it because of the topic or because of him.

"Evie." Harry began as he looked at her hopefully, holding his gaze on her soft features, "I'm so sorry, I didn't stop and think, I was just so angry. If it's something that bothers you... I-I can work on it."

He wanted to be better for her, he wanted to be her safe spot no matter if he knew she already had one. He wanted to be the person she wanted, and by the unspoken words of why she hated fighting and violence so much was enough to tell him he needed to stop that if he wanted her. And merlin did he want her so bad.

"You will?" Evies voice was low and soft, a tone she never held much of.

"Yes." Harry said quickly, scolding himself for seeing so desperate for her to forgive me, "Could I ask what you meant when you said I didn't understand?"

Evie was silent for a moment. Maybe she wanted to tell Harry, maybe she wanted everyone to know for her sake and others. But she couldn't, she just couldn't yet, "It's a long story, half of which isn't mine to tell."

This is why their trust percentage was low in their compatibility. Harry had wondered about it so much since she told him, he couldn't imagine what they'd not trust each other with. Harry now saw that Evie didn't trust him with her life outside of Hogwarts, and he hated himself for not trusting her completely with Malfoy so close to her.

"So." Harry said with a clear of his throat, he'd been dying to ask her, couldn't sleep over it, "Take it the two of you are back together."

"What?" Evie asked, her soft featured suddenly looked confused and lost. Something she never was, always smart enough with plenty of knowledge to catch on quickly.

"You and Malfoy, you're a pair again." Harry said, it pained him to speak the words but he knew they had to be, there wasn't anyway they weren't.

"No, of course not." Evie said with a odd look, Harry felt embarrassed for assuming the much as he blinked rapidly, "I told you his family didn't approve of me, their approving at the very least was the most important thing to him."

Harry didn't want to smile at her in a moment like this because he knew she was still struggling to get over that bit, knew it still hurt her horribly. But he was joyed, happy he still had the chance to be the person she wanted most, "Well my parents are dead so that shouldn't be a problem."

Evie laughed, apologizing for it quickly as Harry shook his head, meaning for it to be a joke. Her laugh joyed him, gave him a form of relief. He went to open his mouth to say something before the bright light came from Evies wand, making him duck as the two let out a small yell.

"What's happening?" she asked in a panic, holding her wand out worried as Harry stood beside her quickly.

"It's your patronus!" he announced after seeing the Sloth moving slowly around the two, "You've done it, Evie!"

"I did it!" Evie cheered as the sloth disappeared when she lost focused, attacking Harry in a hug as he stumbled in the slightly before hugging her back.
