knees, change the prophecy❝
AT FIRST WILLOW wasn't sure why she had this strange and unpleasant feeling in her stomach ever since the day started, but then everything got clear. When she watched the things that were happening around, she was terrified, because even the people she somehow knew started acting like not themselves.
And when it came to Tanner Sage and his sudden change of behavior, she wondered if she ever even knew the real him or was this just a whole cover so that he would finally find a moment to attack.
A grunt left her lips as she felt herself pushed along with the tons of people towards the hall, where the fight started to get out of control.
Willow rolled on the floor to the side when Miguel suddenly hit the ground right next to her, but quickly stood up and aimed at Robby again. She rolled her eyes and then cursed underneath her breath when she saw Tanner's figure nearby once again, fighting some boy before turning around as if he was searching for someone.
And when his gaze fell on her, she didn't need more signs to start moving backwards, feeling an unimaginable lump in her throat.
"Tory, stop!" she shouted to the blonde girl, who suddenly made her way towards the stairs. Before she got any answer, she felt someone grab both of her arms and push her towards the handrail.
She glanced there and then dodged the kick that Tanner sent her way. After that, she grabbed his leg, swept it from under him and stepped on it hard for him to groan in pain. Using the occasion of his no focus, she ran past him to look out for Blair or any of her friends to make sure they were okay. People here really started acting crazy, so when she stopped near some boys fighting and saw Rickenberger beating up the teacher, a grimace appeared on her lips.
"Willooow, where are you, bitch?" the Sage boy's taunting voice made her come back to reality immediately.
She exhaled and a sudden scream left her lips when someone's hand landed on her shoulder, pulling her back. She calmed down a little as she didn't see Tanner in her sight, but Eli, who had a frown on his face.
"You okay?" he questioned quietly, taking her face in his hands. She shook her head quickly, stopping herself from scowling when the pain finally started hitting her body.
"No, Tanner. He's out of his — " she started, but couldn't end her sentence, because he pushed her to the side before punching some boy that rushed at them with a battle cry.
She watched as he fought him and after finishing him looked at something behind her. The look that showed on his face started scarring her, so she turned around and her face dropped when she saw Demetri standing a few steps away.
"Eli — "
She sighed when he already started following the Alexopoulos.
She wanted to do the same, but got pretty much stopped by the image of some girl fighting with Blair at the beginning of the stairs. She swallowed nervously and looked in the direction Eli and Demetri ran to and then the Johnson girl and Tanner, who started walking her way again.
"Not again," she muttered under her breath and grimaced, seeing that Miguel helped Blair and then started going to the top of the stairs with Robby following him. She needed them to stop. She needed everything to stop.
With that, she didn't have any hesitation anymore when she started running towards them with Tanner, who did the same, another crazy laugh escaping. She really didn't want to know why she was picked as his victim. She didn't do anything, besides being honest with him.
"You think you can run away from me?" he yelled and she could hear his footsteps behind her, so she fastened, pushing through the crowd of fighting people. When she stepped on the first step, she spun around to kick the boy in the stomach and have some time without the literal psychopath.
"Wills, what's going on?" Blair spoke, confused as she looked between her two friends, fighting.
Willow wanted to say something, but got interrupted by the boy grabbing her hair and pulling her backwards, then kicking her in the back, making her fall on the stairs with a painful grunt.
"What the fuck? Leave her alone, Tan!" Blair exclaimed, him ignoring her completely.
When he was going to strike the violet-haired girl again, Blair stood in front of him and punched him right in the face several times before grabbing the collar of his shirt and yanking him away.
Totally surprised, Willow used the help of a Cobra Kai boy to get to her feet before running upstairs and past Tory and Sam, who almost ran into her. A grimace appeared on her lips as the LaRusso girl kicked Tory right in the face. She tried to step between them, but was pretty much stopped by the rest of her common sense. With that, she grabbed the handrail and carefully stood near Robby and Miguel, scoffing as she saw people recording everything with their phones.
"Mig, stop!" she ordered, the boy looking at her and because of that being punched by Robby in the face. That made him focus on the Keene again.
"That's for taking advantage of Sam!"
"I would never!"
"Then why did it happen?"
Willow watched them fight, her body frozen, until she felt a hand land on her throat and immediately tighten around it. She tried to wriggle out of the grip but was stopped by another hand that wrapped around her waist and hands, pinning her arms. She didn't have to turn around to know who it was, and that made her even more afraid. Tanner Sage was unpredictable.
"Boo," the brown-haired boy muttered to her ear and she choked, feeling as if she was slowly losing her oxygen. "You thought that you could run away from me that easily?" he teased and when he didn't get the answer, he chuckled.
When his grip tightened, she finally remembered what Kreese and Johnny demonstrated in the dojo once, so she wasn't hesitant when she used the move. She swept the legs from under the boy, making the two of them hit the ground close to where Robby and Miguel stood.
Willow tried her best to take a deep breath as she touched her neck, which would probably be covered in bruises later. She didn't have much time to rest, though, because the boy didn't stop what he was doing. When he tried to tower over her and hit her, she kicked him right in the face, sending him crashing into the railing and holding onto his face with his jaw clenched.
"Why are you doing this?" she screamed, using her free hand to help her stand up and move towards Tanner, sending a punch his way, him blocking it.
They repeated their moves until he kicked her in the stomach. She stumbled back to the stairs and grabbed the railing to keep herself from falling down.
"You think it's funny dumping me after so much time I spent on you?" Tanner was outraged when he went to kick her again, but she grabbed his leg and pushed him back.
"We weren't even dating!" she stood up and threw a roundhouse kick at him, hitting him in the ribs.
He groaned and when he saw her eyes go to Miguel and Robby in concern, his ring-filled hand collided with her face twice before he grabbed the end of her shirt and threw her into the crowd, which pushed her back toward him. She blinked, her green eyes teary from pain as she tried to protect herself from the boy.
"We would be together if you weren't like that and you're gonna pay for it!"
So after those words, Willow grabbed his leg and pulled it up. He clenched his jaw and his hand immediately landed on her painful wrist, squeezing it so that she would let him go. And unfortunately, she did, giving him the perfect opportunity to finish her off with another roundhouse kick to her face.
When her body hit the railing, the back of her head colliding with it hard, people around finally paid their attention to them.
"Hey!"
"No!" Miguel shouted, turning his attention away from Robby, who was pressed to the ground by him. He watched as the girl tried her best to fight the dizziness, her eyes closing and then opening in tiredness again.
With that, he looked at the Keene boy and let him go, ready to run towards the Froud girl. It didn't go the way he wanted, though, because Robby suddenly kicked him, knocking him to the ground and then spun around, Miguel's body hitting the railing next to the girl and starting to fall off.
Willow watched in awe, her hand covering her mouth in shock. After a while, a scream escaped her lips as she saw her best friend fall to the stairs and lie there unconscious, as if he was just sleeping. But he wasn't, and that made the situation even worse.
"Miggy, no! No!" she cried out, ignoring the pain in her whole body and using the railing as a help to stand up and slowly make her way towards the Diaz boy.
As she walked a few steps, her crying grew louder, because she saw Miguel's lifeless body. She crouched down beside him and covered her mouth with her hands, not listening to anything that could be heard around her. She felt numb.
"No, no! Please!" she continued and yelled when she was dragged away from the boy by force.
Blair immediately wrapped her arms around the girl, trying to make sure she was okay, but her eyes widened at the sight of blood on the back of her head. She looked around to see if Tanner was nearby, but he was nowhere to be found.
And neither was Robby.

LATER THAT DAY, Willow sat on the bed, staring at the white wall of her hospital room without blinking. A single tear fell from her emerald eyes as she heard the doors open again and heard Adelaide's sobbing from the corridor once more. She couldn't even look at anyone. She felt terrible. As if part of her was already dead.
"Are you kidding me? Training karate with this bastard?" Sean raised his voice as he followed after Charlie, who sat on the chair next to his sister's bed, grabbing her hands as a way of support.
Willow flinched and closed her eyes momentally. She didn't have any strength to hear the man's angry screaming at the moment. She was already pretty much pissed off at herself. For not helping Miguel, for not stopping the fight, for letting Tanner hurt her, and for disappointing everyone again.
Maybe if she would just do something, everything would turn out different. And maybe if she wouldn't let Tanner do so many things to her, Miguel wouldn't be in a coma.
"I'm talking to you right now," Sean added as he circled around the room in madness and nervousness, his fists being clenched tightly. The girl's lips twitched and she exhaled heavily, still being in awe after everything that happened. "What did you need all this for, huh? Sprained wrist, lots of bruises, your head injured. What did you need all this for, Willow? You think this is funny?" he taunted, his hardened gaze being caught in her sight, making her whole body tense.
"I — I'm sorry, dad. I — "
He interrupted her, his head shaking immediately. "I knew from the beginning that you were getting too much on your mother's nerves, but from now on this will no longer be the case." he declared.
Charlie scrunched his nose in a mix of sadness and confusion, "Dad, please, stop," he whispered, the man scoffing, but silencing himself as he watched the two siblings.
Willow stared at the small window and felt her heart break as she saw Adelaide and Carmen crying in each other's arms.
Oh, how she hated Cobra Kai.
And the fact that she was a Cobra Kai
as well meant that she hated herself even more.
