BEING WOKEN BY A PHONE CALL was one of the worst things that could happen. Willow was sure of that, so as soon as her Harry Styles ringtone echoed around the room, she wanted to throw the phone out of her apartment. Luckily, the girl was able to stop herself at the last moment, and after that she finally decided to answer the call without even checking the contact name at the very beginning ── whoever it was, was really psychotic by thinking that calling someone that early was normal.
"Hello?" she spoke when she accepted the call. Her gaze shifted around the room just to come back to the blue-haired boy that still laid on her stomach, sleeping with a smile on his face, in the end. Willow ran one hand through his hair, the other still holding the phone, from which she still didn't hear an answer.
"What the hell? I can't hear anything. Oh, yeah, thanks," Johnny muttered to himself, and with that, the blonde girl finally understood that he was calling her from Miguel's phone. "Training's in an hour. Tell that to your buddy, Hawk, too," he declared, making the girl frown.
How did he know that the Moskowitz boy was with her?
"How do you kn──"
Willow couldn't finish her sentence, because the man interrupted her. "Saw him in front of your apartment tonight. Kinda reminds me of my highschool times when," he started but stopped himself in the middle of the sentence, the blonde rolling her eyes in response, feeling satisfied that Johnny couldn't even know about it. "Just show up in time . . . Now, how do I end this thing?" he asked.
"Uhm, it's here." Miguel's voice was heard in the background, but when the Froud girl wanted to greet him, the call was already over. With that, she put the phone on the bedroom table and glanced at Eli, catching his blue, sleepy eyes being opened and directed towards her.
However, the green-eyed girl was the first to speak up. "Morning,"
The boy lifted his head slightly to have a better view on the girl and then rested the fake on her stomach, his hands still being wrapped around her waist. "Morning, Loo," his voice was a little hoarse, which made him clear his throat before speaking again. "What's up?" he asked, referring to the short conversation she had with someone on the phone.
"Training's in an hour ── that's what's up," she replied, the Moskowitz groaning and buring his face in her's body once again, because he hoped he would have much more time alone with the blonde girl. Unfortunately, someone had to ruin their moment again.
"Can't we skip or something?" the boy suggested, but Willow shook her head. Johnny would kill them if they would.
"You want to spend time with me so badly?" she asked sarcastically, making him smile playfully.
"Who wouldn't?"
When the boy stood up and turned to her with his back, just so he could take something out of her closet, the girl carefully scanned his tattoo with her eyes, meanwhile biting her lips. She couldn't imagine how much it must've hurt him, because it was really huge, but guess it was worth it ── he looked really good with it.
"So . . . you really like it?" Hawk asked when he felt the girl's gaze on himself. Being caught, she quickly looked away.
"I already said I did,"
Even though her reminder was true, the blue-eyed boy shook his head, because he didn't believe her when she said that in the dojo. He knew her too well to not understand her every single reaction.
"Yeah, but . . . you know that if you don't feel comfortable with something, you can tell me, right? Just . . . never lie to me, yeah?"
"And you never lie to me too, Eli,"

AS WILLOW COULD tell from the very beginning, the training wasn't going to be as normal as their previous ones, but when she said that, she obviously didn't think that she'd end up being in a junkyard and watching Johnny drink his beer while standing on top of some bus. Well, good thing that her mother didn't know about anything, because she would totally get pissed off at her and Johnny.
"You've trained hard. You've gotten stronger, tougher, faster. You've done your best. You're ready for this tournament, am I right?" the man asked loudly, causing the blonde girl to look at him in disorientation, because she had no idea what to say, so she just followed the group.
"Yes, Sensei!"
Johnny was quick to end their enthusiasm. "Wrong!" with that, Willow watched as he threw a full can of beer onto the ground, causing some to splash onto her pants. She grimaced at the unpleasant smell, her aversion to alcohol showing immediately. "Your best ain't shit! If you want to win the All Valley Under Eighteen Karate Tournament, you gotta give me better than your best, which is why from now, you're gonna get my worst. You understand?" he said. The green-eyed girl hardly understood any of his words, but continued to listen to the group.
"Yes, Sensei!"
"Are you losers?"
"No, Sensei!"
"Are you nerds?"
"No, Sensei!"
"Are you sure?" he shouted. Willow processed his words at the last moment, so she didn't join the group when they yelled loudly.
"No, Sensei,"
With that, Johnny hid his face in his face, the Froud girl doing the same thing, but getting elbowed by Miguel, who raised his eyebrows at her and mouthed a clear 'traitor' for her.

THE BLONDE WANTED to question Johnny when he told the others that they'll get his worst, but after he made her do lots of random activities, she no longer needed explanations. Every person from her close circle should know that she was not a big fan of her gym classes, so when it came to, for example, jumping over some tires, she got extremely tired in a few seconds.
A ragged breath escaped her lips as she followed the others, not seeing that Aisha had tripped over some tire and sent her friends on the ground, so some seconds after, she ended up lying on Miguel's back and having her leg crushed by Bert that quickly muttered lots of apologies her way.
Well, the only advantage of the whole training was that she could also break lots of things, finally taking her nerves on something and not keeping it inside herself. That was something she really needed.
"Wohooo!" she yelled, and ran to hug Hawk, him immediately spinning her around a few times after they broke some car's window together with some boards they found. "That was sooo badass!" she added, him agreeing with a chuckle.
"We are badass," he admitted, nodding his head at her.
Some minutes later, the whole group gathered together and went back to listening to what the Lawrence had to say. Willow caught the man giving some meat to the others, her shaking her head firmly when Miguel offered her one. She wasn't hungry, and didn't really like eating meat.
"You want to win, you gotta be hungry. You guys hungry?" the man questioned. The others looked at him in confusion, but gave him the answer he was waiting for.
"Yes, Sensei!"
Johnny smiled to himself. "Good, cause so are they," with that, he whistled a few times, and after that, dogs barking were heard in the background.
Willow opened her eyes widely, and slowly turned her head to the back, seeing some dogs already running at them. Being completely terrified, a scream escaped her lips.
"Holy mother!"
Her words woke up the rest, causing them all to start running away anxiously and jump on some cars. The wavy-haired girl saw a dog being right behind her, so she quickly jumped on some track and watched her friends still run away in terror as they wanted to find a place to hide.
Out of sudden, someone else had caught her attention as he screamed. "Loo! Help me up!" when she turned around, she saw Hawk running towards her, so she spread her arms, ready to pull him up. Luckily, she did it and managed to save the boy at the last moment. That made a simple question run through her mind ── what could he do without her?

WILLOW CLENCHED her jaw as she tried to do the spaghetti tacos from her mom's recipe, but failed in the middle. She heard a loud chuckle close to her, so she looked at her younger brother, not hiding the angriness that was in her whole body anymore.
"What?" she asked him, the brunette boy just shrugging and an innocent expression showed on his face. Knowing Charlie too well, Willow raised her eyebrows, giving him a sign to continue what he started.
And so he did. "You leave home strangely early every day," he muttered, squinting. A suspicion washed all over his face while he watched the girl's reaction that was somehow untouched. With that he spoke once again. "Veeery strangely," he added.
Willow frowned and poured the pasta into the hot pot before turning back to her brother. "What are you implying?" she asked, which made the boy sigh heavily.
"Jamie texted me and said that he saw you wearing some karate pajamas." he finally got to the point, and with that, the blonde girl sighed several times, being shocked at first, but then not sure what to say. Charlie smiled when he found something even more strange in the girl's reaction, and decided to say something more. "He told me that you train in, uhh . . . Corba Kai," he muttered, Willow being shocked by another thing that was said by him.
Though, before she turned to him reproachfully, her lips reflexively corrected him. "Cobra Kai." a moment passed and the girl realized that she literally got herself caught, but when she wanted to take back her words, it was too late because Charlie already threw his hands in the air in victory.
"I knew it!" he yelled, and the blonde shushed him, being afraid that their mom was still in the apartment and would hear them ── she was still not ready to tell her about karate. Not after Adelaide made it clear that she hated it, having some unknown reasons from the past. "Sorry, I'm just soooo excited. How it's been? Do you have any bro's? Have you already met Jamie's brother? What's your teacher like?" he started asking more and more questions, but stopped himself in the middle when he saw a grimace on his sister's lips.
With that, he pursed his lips into a thin line before speaking again, this time more worried than excited. "Was it that bad?"
Willow shook her head slightly. She knew that Charlie wouldn't believe her if she'd lie to him. "Nope, just feeling that my head's going to explode because of so many questions," she shrugged, the boy sending an apologizing glance. "So, let's start with making a simple promise, alright? You can't tell mom about this. No words, okay?" she stuck her little finger out in front of her, and the boy then wrapped it in his own, making a pinky promise that he could never, ever break.
"So? Are you gonna answer my questions or . . ."
Willow gave him a small eye roll, but nodded her head after that, thinking that nothing bad would happen if she'd told him some things about karate. "So first of all, it's been great, except for my Sensei, who is really grumpy and all," she started, and then tried to remember the next question the boy asked. When it suddenly came back to her mind, she spoke again. "I do have friends there, because most of the people are from my school. You already know Miguel and Eli, who . . . changed a little. He has this new haircut, behavior and oh! He goes by Hawk now, by the way," she explained, the smaller boy listening to her carefully.
His eyes lightened up in excitement as he heard about Eli flipping the script. "That's so cool! I want a nickname like that too! I bet he'll become my broski now," he smiled proudly, making the girl laugh.
But then, she became bewildered, because she had no idea who was the Jamie that Charlie was talking about.
"Who's Jamie?" she questioned, the brunette boy realizing that he hadn't told his sister about his new friend yet.
"It's my new friend. He's the same age as I am and he likes playing Fortnite too!" he admitted happily, Willow being also happy for him. She enjoyed watching something else than her brother crying, because their dad didn't contact them once again in a month.
In fact, Willow didn't like anything that was about her dad ── it was always so hurtful and full of lies. She was like that because of him, and also because of him, her mother didn't trust her that much anymore.
Charlie distracted the girl from her thoughts as he started explaining once again. "And there's also his brother, Tanner, who is planning to join your karate place with his friends," with that, a sudden realization hit the girl.
"Wait, Tanner? You mean, like, Tanner Sage?" she wanted to make sure, but the face expression the boy wore already told her everything.
"Yeah, you know this buddy?" he frowned, waiting for his sister to say something.
Well, she did know him, but not that much to call the Sage her friend ── they only danced on the school dance and looked at each other several times in their classes, but nothing else than that.
The sound of the pot lid interrupted their conversation, making the girl open her eyes widely, because she had completely forgotten about the pasta she was making. With that, she quickly turned it off and breathed out in relief.
"Maybe I'll help you with that?" Charlie suggested, and Willow immediately agreed.
Keeping the girl away from cooking was the best option possible.

AT FIRST, there were only a few signs of Hawk's sudden change ── the mohawk, the tattoo, but also the things that the old Eli would never, ever do, and the blonde girl could admit that she, somehow, managed to put up with it. It was a different matter when the boy suddenly started acting like a complete asshole, which Willow understood when they were both sitting in a movie theater with their friends, and he was throwing popcorn at random people, mostly some girls their age.
"Stop it," Willow scoffed, her hand hitting his slightly as he took even more popcorn into his hand and started looking for another victims. He whispered a quiet ouch and sent a misunderstood look towards the girl that rolled her eyes in response.
"What?" he asked, playfully throwing popcorn right at her face, which annoyed her even more. Not that someone actually asked about it ── with each new thing that Hawk did, strangeness appeared in her body more and more.
And she didn't like it.
"Asshole pretty much," she commented after a moment and flicked popcorn kernels from her lap.
"Fun destroyer pretty much," Eli suddenly spoke back, Willow clenching her jaw and turning her gaze back to Miguel and Aisha that had some conversation.
She would do anything to keep her mind on something else than her best friend's jerkish behavior, so she decided to join the two.
"You okay, Miggy?" the blonde asked, seeing that the brunette boy wasn't focused on the movie at all. "Hey, talk to me," she added, him sighing.
"I can't stop thinking about what Sensei told me about Sam's dad," Miguel declared, and Willow grimaced.
After the girl had invited the Diaz to eat spaghetti tacos with her and her brother, he told her the story Johnny gave him. However, she didn't believe it at all ── to understand something, she must've heard both side and not only the Lawrence's that, according to her mom, was an asshole in the past.
"So Sensei and Sam's dad had some beef. What that have to do with you?" Aisha asked, the Froud girl watching as Eli threw some popcorn at someone once again, making her take a deep, heavy breath. She really had enough of his attitude today.
"Do I have to spell it out for you? Sam's dad hates Cobra Kai, I'm a part of Cobra Kai, so by the transitive property, Sam's dad is gonna hate me," the Diaz whispered, Willow shaking her head immediately.
"Don't say that. You're too sweet to be hated by anyone, Miggy." she declared, Miguel sending her a grateful smile.
Her smile faded just when she heard Eli's words. "Jesus Christ, you're such a nerd,"
"Shush, Eli,"
Just in time when Hawk looked at her outraged, Miguel spoke. "I'm telling you, it's not just on my mind. Sam was acting weird the other day when her dad walked by,"
Aisha joined their conversation again. "Listen, we've known Mr. LaRusso since third grade. He's a really nice guy, you just have to talk to me,"
The blonde girl agreed. "Yeah, you don't know the other side's story. Besides, I've known Johnny since I was, like, born, and he can lie about a lot of things,"
"I hadn't even been invited yet. She's probably too afraid to introduce me,"
Willow couldn't stand seeing her friend being completely sad, so she wanted to hug him, but couldn't because of the seat she had taken. A groan escaped her lips as she saw another girl being hit with popcorn, so she quickly grabbed the package from Hawk's hands and placed it on her lap, causing him to scoff indignantly.
"Hey, I bought it," he reminded her, which she ignored.
"And you wasted most of it, so now it's mine," she muttered and felt his hand wrap around her wrist as he wanted to get his snacks back.
He failed, though, so he returned to Miguel's dating problems.
"Dude, just go over there. It's an alpha move," he advised, Willow blinking several times at his words.
"Since when do you know about alpha moves?"
He shrugged in response. "Since I didn't let any guy be your first kiss,"
The blonde opened her mouth in shock, and looked at her friends' faces, Miguel smiling proudly, but Aisha being totally surprised.
"You guys kissed and didn't tell me?" The Robinson girl whispered, her voice being outraged.
The green-eyed girl sighed, not being sure what to say ── she wanted to tell Aisha, but obviously not like that.
"It wasn't that important,"
Her words were enough to catch Hawk out of guard and, of course, hurt him. He shot her a quick, confused glare, but then tried to push the pain away, so when the girl wasn't looking, he took some popcorn and then threw it at some man, who suddenly reacted.
"Who the hell did that?"
With that, wanting to save himself, Hawk wrapped his arms around the Froud girl's shoulders and acted as if he was focusing on her and the movie.
Willow didn't know how much of an influence her words had on him.
