after the fire at the hale house that took several lives, included that of abigail hale and though he lived, peter hale, lots of things had changed.

that night left valerie, derek, and laura hale all that remained of the hale family. so they stuck together, never leaving the others alone for too long.

laura was now raising val as her own with the help of derek, and raising a kid is never easy... especially as she reached her teenage years.

and it all gets that much harder when laura leaves val with derek to visit beacon hills and she never comes back.

so derek and valarie head to the one place on earth neither of them want to be in search of laura only to find out that she had been murdered by some crazy werewolf - who's now an alpha.

and shit really hits the fan when the murderous werewolf turns out to be valerie's father and all he wants is to reunite with his daughter.

and all he has to offer her is the bite,

๋࣭⭑⚝ val was nine, turning ten, when the fire happened. she's now 15, turning 16 in season one. she's a sophomore

๋࣭⭑⚝ derek is twenty-two as of season one, not sure if this is conon, but that my general rule for his age

๋࣭⭑⚝ val's mother was human. abigail and peter were dating in high school, she got pregnant and he was actually excited. so was his family - abigail's family wasn't so happy

๋࣭⭑⚝ she could possibly wear a red hoodie, or at the very least have one that the keeps with her but she doesn't wear it all the time

๋࣭⭑⚝ peter and abigail was nineteen when they had valerie, making him twenty-nine-ish when the fire happened and roughly thirty-five in season one

๋࣭⭑⚝ val isn't a werewolf, though i'm not opposed to her becoming one later. she'd have to want it, and it would have to be someone she trusts ( possibly derek ) or she be born a werewolf and she shifts without having to be bitten, up to you

๋࣭⭑⚝ val is, well, she's a teenage girl. she loves movie and books and she loves telling derek all about them even though he could care less. she is insecure about a lot of things, like her height - she's short, 5'2" but overall she's really sweet

๋࣭⭑⚝ she is peter's daughter, so she can be cruel and vicious, especially when it comes to people hurting her friends and family - let's say she had a bit of a dark side. the part of her scares her and she tries to hide it as much as possible ( she eventually embraces it and it saves the pack a few times later on )

๋࣭⭑⚝ when derek learns that scott is a werewolf, he sends val to school to keep an eye on him. she befriends him and stiles easily ( when they find out later, it could cause a rift between them for a little while )

๋࣭⭑⚝ val and stiles are especially close, and without even realizing it the boy falls for her - maybe he doesn't realize it until she and isaac go public in season two

๋࣭⭑⚝ derek is more of a dad to her then peter is, but she still tries to get to know peter when he comes back from the dead in later seasons

๋࣭⭑⚝ stiles it a bit skeptical of her when she offers her help to scott as he's trying to control his wolfness - she's never gone through it but derek and laura have told her stories. scott accepts her help without question

๋࣭⭑⚝ i feel like val and lydia would get along great, but she would be cautious of allison once finding her her last name

๋࣭⭑⚝ val is terrified of hunters, specifically the argents, even if she isn't a werewolf... yet

๋࣭⭑⚝ val would be in derek's side in season two, whether she's a werewolf or not

๋࣭⭑⚝ if she does get bit/she turns into a werewolf in season two, that would be something she and isaac bond over. she would also be close to erica and boyd

๋࣭⭑⚝ val runs track. she's a sports enthusiast, so she watches a lot of lacrosse - which is how she meets isaac ( isaac could even be mentioned and around in season one before is storyline picks up in season two )

๋࣭⭑⚝ val and malia would slowly develop a sister bond, as both are shocked that the other exists - especially since malia was adopted and didn't know about peter before
