DINAH'S REACTION
❝ RENDEZVOUS.
UNDER THE TWILIGHT. ❞
6 PM — DINAH'S ROOM, RUCIA PALACE.
Nothing else satisfied Dinah unlike a good glass of red wine by her bedside as she watched the sun go by. The radiant presence of the gass giant finally descending as it's counterpart arose to claim it's place upon the cool-toned shore of decedent luster and hues of frost. Adorned in a robe that matched her spiraling drink, she hanested another state of eerie quietness by her loneliness. The day had been ever so tiring, but maybe that was just the fact she had been faced with the surprising task of handling her boiling emotions. How long had it been ever since she wept like that? she came to ask herself as she lifted the juiced elixir up to be glinted with the on coming light of the dimming rays of dusk.
"-8 years, or was it 7?" She supposed with a perplexed complexion to seep against her porcelain bones.
" seven years had passed ever since he left like that..." Mystery seems to just be compiling up against one after another with this woman, as her words just seemed to be trodden with a heavy glaze of eloquence. What did she mean by a man? was it her father? or perhaps had it been a past lover? Oh dear dynasty, when will we ever hold the secrecy of your agency?
As she placed the half-empty wine glass onto her little set of couches and a table, the door seemed to have greeted her once more that day. And a familiar face was she addressed with, " Good afternoon, lady Dinah!" Bubbly and cheerful unlike herself, the maid that was assigned to her, Rachel had greeted the defeated soul a beaming expression.
" A Good afternoon, to you too, miss Rachel." Was what the velvet robed selected responded with, a soft glint within her once hallowed out orbs of obsidian black. The reflection of the enthusiastic maid had appeared onto her spectacles, and if one could imagine, Rachel would be a little flame from a candle that flickered a bit when the wind drove by. It was like that to her, whenever a person smiles or shares a posture of positivity. They were merely flickering candles that would be blown away. Dinah can never really saw herself as someone who can catch up with wholesome memories such as joy. It was only a dream, a bountiful jewel that she can only wish for herself to possess.
As Dinah once more initiated her cognitive despair, the warmth by the ecstatic maid brought her back with her squeaky notes of what sought to be giddy, " Here! It's a letter from his highness!" Ah, so that must be why Rachel was so thrilled to deliver this piece of folded and sealed parchment. It was from the prince of their nation after all, but what was there that got the lass become so bouncy? There must be a much deeper meaning to it than just feedback from something she had done.
" Oh, well, thank you very much." Dinah can only progress the conversation further by a phrase of thanksgiving, her delicate hands reaching and collecting the sleek item. Her eyes scanned over the paper with a speck of intrigue, really, what was it?
" No problem! I'll be waiting by the door if you are ready with your reply!! " And yet again, the staff assigned to her obediently waited for the return of a reply to the powerful ruler.
A loop that seemed to have been a tired smile lifted itself upon her fair features, a quiet hum and a curt nod combined was a temporary notion of a farewell to the fellow kalumite.
Settling down upon her couch once more, she opened the letter and had delicately unfolded it from it's case, her dark optics flew silently on the page as she read the short invite from within her mind.
" rendezvous. under the twilight." two words were brought out of her lips as she finished with reading the inked parchment. she felt herself being a bit flabbergasted and flustered. Men, she was never that great in the range of courting. All she knew of love was that it was to benefit one's self from being thrown aside as a failure of a woman. It was a requirement to be strictly obligated.
There was a following silence to that as she realized that the prince held the curiosity to seek out what reasons did she have for composing the story as so. A breath was lifted from her mouth before she went back over and started to write out the long awaited respond to Amaro's petition;
' as do I,
I always wondered
as to what reply
you hold,
Alpha.
Sincerely,
wolf cub. '
Some might say that it was an odd way for Dinah to phrase things like so, but you'd really have to take into note one crucial thing, they were both broken...
It wasn't a surprise that they sounded so foreign to words like true affection. And that their means of showcasing a hint of anything close to that is simply out of the ordinary.
Feeling satisfied with her work, the woman stood back up and trekked back outside to surprise the caught off guard maid by her door.
" that was-" Rachel seemed out of breath, but then again, it really was just mere minutes that Dinah finally came back with a letter in hand.
Giving a chuckle and a short shake of her head that made her wavy locks frame her face, Dinah patted the woman's shoulder and gave it a comforting squeeze. " I am a woman of few words, miss Rachel. I spring forth my messages like so. That only the eyes of the one reading might comprehend." It felt a bit familiar as to when one's grandmother would try to describe to her youngest grandchildren the ways of wisdom, it was a bit confusing but at the same time, quite befitting.
" I see..that is quite fascinating, my lady! " came Rachel's meek reply as she gladly accepted the fresh letter to be delivered back to the anticipating recipient. " Good by for now! I'll see you tomorrow then!" Waving goodbye as she scampered out and tripped a bit in her footing, the two shared a good laugh and retreated to their separate chambers for the day.
" Truly," Holding her disappearing glass of wine back to her lips as she crossed her legs by the crackling fire, she gazed back towards the view of the dimming skyline with a hint of wonder "it feels like what will happen would be more of a reality than a replica of the story."
END.
