Your POV:
Kuroo was jealous of Jojo; He was jealous of a guy who is legally now my brother of sorts. It was cute, funny and confusing at the same time. I wanted to laugh so badly but it was quite unsettling as well because the last he spoke, it sounded like a goodbye. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to deal with him as I had other things to deal with.
So, I repressed my thoughts and tried to leave the prison that he had established with his arms but my efforts were as futile as it could get. Perhaps he cared; perhaps not. I wanted to clarify everything with him by talking it out as Kenma suggested but he only shushed me in return. Asshole!
I might have looked like I was pissed off that he didn't let me speak but in reality, it was just my natural response to bite his finger because at that moment I didn't like his approach. I wanted to talk and who was he to stop me from doing that? I was about to say 'let me finish talking' but Jojo came into the class, disrupting my wave of thoughts.
I was surprised about the fact that he was asking about Ichika and knowing his nasty tendency to pick a fight with anyone and anything, I tried to shoo him away but he wanted to show off, how much of a macho he is. How the fuck does he know about this already?
Remarkably, Jojo gave Kuroo a tag too, 'Hyena Hair'. Jojo could come off as cheeky and rude but he's quite the softie. People tend to misunderstand him a lot ever since childhood because he never knew to speak with a filter. I could see Kuroo tolerate his urge to smack Jojo left and right but it does serve him right. Kuroo also has the tendency to nickname people as he pleases and it reminded me of the time, he called me his devil.
They got acquainted and Kuroo had to break everything to him which riled up Jojo even more. Why can't everything go just as I planned? I hate it when someone interrupts my flow of things. I reprimanded Jojo that I didn't need any of his help. For god's sake, I wish people could just mind their own bloody damn business.
I left the classroom leaving Kuroo and Jojo together when every fiber of my being told me not to. I felt that Kuroo and Jojo tried to get along in front of me for my sake and they were going to find themselves in a rut the minute I leave them alone. I decided to focus on the task at hand; suspension of Kaneda Ichika. So, I directly went to the principal's office to get the deed done.
The Principal was appalled by the complaint that I put forward and said, "I cannot believe this. Why would she resort to violence?"
"I am sure you would get an answer from Kaneda-san if you asked her that. I am here to file a complaint and as the Kaichou of this school, I cannot let this slide. I hope you will do what is right."
"I will issue a suspension order this instant!"
"Sir, if I may, I would like to deliver the suspension letter to her by myself!"
"Sure, you can. Make sure you ask her to meet me before she leaves the campus. She is being suspended effective immediately."
I waited for the principal to finish up the suspension order and collected it from the receptionist as she sealed the order with the Principal's stamp. The break was over by the time I reached my block and I walked into 3-1 to find their homeroom sensei taking the attendance for the afternoon session.
"Excuse me, ma'am," I obstructed the attendance call. I informed the homeroom sensei about Kaneda-san's suspension while eyeing the seating arrangement of this class and honestly, I was surprised to find that Jojo was actually seated right next to Kaneda-san and her posse.
Kaneda-san was annoyed to see me inside her class but she didn't expect that I would keep my word and suspend her for real. Jojo on the other hand had a shit-eating grin on his face which made me wonder what exactly had happened for him to be in such a mood.
Kaneda-san threw a tantrum in the class and the sensei reprimanded her and announced that she felt ashamed to have Kaneda-san in her class. The sensei threw Kaneda-san out of the class and I snickered, "Off you go you, insolent prick!"
"You dare fuck with me! Do you know who I am?"
"You have been suspended 'Effective immediately'. So, you are not even considered a student in this school anymore until your suspension wears off. What you are is a spoiled brat who needs to be put in her damn place."
"My father will not allow this! He is a significant board member of this school and he will cancel this suspension order in a wink!" she growled.
"Do you even hear yourself? All you do is yell, cry, and resort to violence or you run to your father with your tail between your legs. *scoff* why am I even wasting my time with you? Sayonara (Goodbye) wimp!" I asserted and left her by herself.
I believed that the Principal would keep his words and wouldn't lift the suspension order even if Kaneda-san's father would pressure him to do so. I went back to the council room to find the executive council intensely discussing something with Nekomata sensei.
"She is here, sensei!" Asami-chan announced. They were waiting for me?
"Come sit, I wanted to talk to you all!" he smiled.
"Yes sensei, tell me. How can we help you?" I smiled as well.
"The school committee informed us staffs about the budget cuts. I hope the mentors will take care of it from now on. So, you all can rest easy!"
"That is great to hear!" Asami-chan exclaimed.
"Sometimes, it's okay to depend on others, especially in cases like these, it is okay to depend on the staff than to take all the load by yourself."
"The principal told us not to tell the studentsβ"
"You guys could have waited it out. I am not saying what you did was wrong, I'm just saying the outcome could have been different if you had done it differently! You could have informed the staff and let them take care of it!" he implored.
"Yes sir, we will do better from now on. Thank you!"
Nekomata sensei departed affirming that we could ask him for any help whenever needed and he was quite sweet. We relaxed a bit as we were chit chatting random shit since we had to wait for the student files. Not that I didn't enjoy our small talk but it was also the best approach to know more about the school, the people, and most importantly the gossips.
Our table talk was interrupted by Inaba Raiden, who came in to submit the plans for the coming summer festival and it was the best time for me to act like a wingman that I promised to be. Inaba-kun was almost flirting with Asami-chan but I got the vibe that they were more on the formal side of the affairs.
"Hey guys, I was just wondering where Soma-san is?" I turned the conversation, expecting to take it somewhere else.
"Oh, he wanted to attend the classes since there wasn't much work for him with our committee!" Inaba-kun disclosed.
"But aren't you guys short on a secretary?" Asami-chan chortled.
"Ahhh yes, that we are! I am not even going to argue about her behavior," Inaba-kun laughed nervously in embarrassment.
"So, I was thinking that you could take Asami-chan here to fill in for that spot and she can be the liaison as well!"
"Ehhhhhh?" Asami-chan widened her eyes in surprise.
"Ehhhhhhhhhhh?" the council members and Inaba-kun uttered in shock.
"What? Why are you all surprised?" I played coy.
"Kaichou-sama, can I speak with you in private for a sec?" Asami-chan dragged to the corner of the room.
"Asami-chan, use the opportunity!" I grinned.
"Butβ"
"Uh-uh, no buts. Follow my lead and get your guy. Oh, I forgot! please flirt better. It's kind of pathetic!" I teased.
"At least we are not just eye-fucking each other like you and some volleyball captain!"
"Wha-? I- No-, I don't!"
"Did he even put the moves on you yet? Or I have to do all the work by myself and hook you two up?" she huffed.
"Asami-chanβ"
"You like him, don't you?" she tittered.
"N-no!"
"Pfffft, tsundere!"
"Asami-chan, it's not like what you think. I'm probably just attracted to him; I mean he's handsome and he also has a nice physique. Ermmmmm, I mean it is just an infatuation, okay? Soβ"
"Baka (idiot), everything begins with attraction. It's not like I know everything about Ray and we are going to marry right off the bat. That's why we even have something called dating. You can't live your life holed up in this council room forever," she remarked.
"Fine, whatever but I have also got something else to say, so hear me out!"
"Go on!" she pouted because I wasn't exactly hearing her out.
"If there is any decision that needs to be taken with respect to the festival, I trust you to take care of it. Only if you think there is something that needs to be discussed, then we all will discuss it together. Okay?"
"But why?"
"You are very much capable of it and in the end, everything will be finally authorized by the school. So, gambatte (go for it)!" I chuckled.
"You are putting my lazy ass to work. That's what this is!" she acted like she was about to burst out crying.
"Awwww that's cute but stop sulking, that's not going to work on me!"
We went back to join the group and confirmed that Asami-chan would be taking over as the secretary and she would be the liaison. Plus, she would also help the festival committee in taking decisions if needed as she is also the Fuku- Kaichou (Vice president) of the school.
Inaba-kun and Asami-chan left the council room but I must say, Asami-chan had a beautiful satisfactory smile on her face and she mouthed a, "Thank you!" before she left the room.
I was pretty much satisfied with pushing her into the festival committee as I had a reliable person to take care of things over there which would take a bit off my plate and also the fact that Asami-chan would have a better chance at pursuing her guy. As time flew by, I asked Akihiko-san to check up on the student files and I texted Soma-san regarding Asami-chan's position in the festival committee.
Akihiko-san came back with the student files of class 3-1 and I enquired what happened to the rest of the files and he replied, "The staff committee asked us to review the student files class by class. We have to submit these files back to get the next set of files and we have the files of 3-1 for now."
"How awesome is that?" I rolled my eyes.
"Do I sense sarcasm?" he questioned, placing the files next to me on the desk with a thud, and a speck of dust dissipated into the air.
"Right, I'm sorry. I was expecting all the files altogether so that we could finish it in one go!"
"Or you might have been expecting a particular student's file from your class!" he chuckled.
"Uh, Akihiko-san, no!"
"Everyone knows, there is no point in denying it!"
"See, I said it to Asami-chan and I will say it again. It is just an infatuation, so let me have my crush in peace!" I nervously chuckled.
"Hmm, at the very least you agree that you have a crush. Good for you!"
"What does that even mean? Moreover, how do you all know?" I exclaimed but in reality, I didn't want someone to state out the facts, and yet I knew it was going to happen anyway knowing Akihiko-san's nature.
"He walks you home, Kenma is not exactly social and yet he interacts with you, and the fact that Kuroo was able to hold you down from thrashing Kaneda says a lot," Akihiko-san recounted with a straight face.
"This is not some mathematics formula where we prove LHS = RHS. Whatever you said proves nothing. Let it go!" I blurted out.
"You do realize that you literally asked for me to spell it out?"
"Okay well, now I don't want to talk about it. We have got things to do!"
"Diverting the topic to not deal with your stuff. Alright then, let's get to work!" he muttered, pulling up a chair next to me unsealing a set of files.
Soma-san joined the two of us and we silently scoured the files looking for blackmarks and negative remarks from the staff. I suddenly threw the pen in my hand and onto the table with a thud, expressing my exasperation, and held my head with my hands trying to ease my headache. Why is everyone interested in my love life? Why are they interfering?
"Hey look at this, Kaneda-san has no negative remarks except for getting suspended due to violent behavior. Can you believe this?" Soma-san interjected. What the hell?
"Are you implying that she has acted violently before and it has been overlooked?" I implored.
"Maybe?"
"What do you mean by maybe?" I insinuated to understand the matter in depth.
"It is a rumor so I don't know if that is going to be related to the issue but I will say it regardless. The teachers were gossiping how she is being coddled by her father who is a board member of our school because she is mentally disturbed and that she is truly bipolar." Akihiko-san conceded with hesitation masking his voice.
"If she really has a disorder it should reflect in her files. Is there any evidence proving that?"
"No but her behavior suggests otherwise and she is called bipolar princess as you may or may not know." Akihiko-san glumly replied.
"Let's not label someone like that. It is honestly offensive to a person who really has the disorder and if she really seems to have it, we are only hurting her even more by calling her that," I grimaced.
I knew she has injured me through words in more than one circumstance and even physically but I felt disgusted at myself for calling her by that name when I had no reason to. If she really is sick, what she needs is help and somewhere in my heart, I hoped that she shouldn't take this suspension in the wrong way. I was suddenly conflicted with the decision I had made even though I shouldn't be. Every action has a reaction and she should ponder upon her violent behavior in the given time.
"Sounds like you are empathizing with her although she has hurt you quite literally!" Akihiko-san
"That doesn't matter, I want to know if she has acted violently prior to this incident and if it has been omitted deliberately," I insisted in knowing more.
"You could say that it has happened before and she has gotten away with it." Soma-san declared.
"I want to meet the victims and I want to know what exactly happened. Is that possible?"
"I will see to it!" Soma-san heaved an exasperated sighed.
We continued to scan through the rest of the files and segregate the ones that had negative remarks to filter out the bullies. As time passed, we were finally able to finish 3-1's files by almost the end of school. We noted down the information we needed from the segregated files and I requested Soma-san to return it and Akihiko-san offered to go along with him.
Not even a minute passed after they left and immediately Shiroma Kosuke-san came into the council room with a frown on his face and I must say I was not ready to deal with him at this moment as I was immensely tired.
"Hey Kaichou-san, you got a minute?" he half-smiled.
"Yeah, tell me!"
"I have been disturbed since you mentioned that there have been some complaints made towards our club. I want to make it right, so I thought you could help me out a little."
"Like I said I cannot divulge you further on this matter. But I can advise you that you need to discipline your club members and provide them insight on sportsmanship. Plus, with the given statistics of your team, I can visualize your team winning the nationals this time. All you have got to do is connect with one another."
"That's very helpful, Thank you! Thank you so much Kaichou sama!" he sighed and grinned like a child that has been rewarded a chocolate after being punished.
"Don't worry about it. I hope your club will do better this year and thanks for understanding!" I smiled as we shook hands and for some reason, I felt odd. I felt like his handshake lasted longer than it should, his grip was on the stronger side and his thumb caressed the back of my palm for no reason. I felt repulsive would be an understatement.
I was confused with his actions, why would someone be doing this and it hit me hard when he kissed my knuckles, smirked and left the council room in a flash which left me traumatized. That moment, I wished Kuroo was here in the council room as I felt vulnerable.
Somehow, I knew I would be protected and consoled if I were to be in his presence at this juncture and I rushed out to see him in class. On the contrary, I saw him a few steps away from the council room discussing soccer with Shiroma-san. I withheld myself from Kuroo's line of sight to snoop in on what they were continuing to talk about and to my surprise, Kuroo's tone of speaking was a bit sinister.
He questioned if Shiroma-san has had any injury in the face and he indirectly threatened him to keep his nose safe. I could see the nerves popping out from Kuroo's thick neck which extended till his clenched jaw. Kuroo was angry and he was only a thread away from snapping and at that moment, I knew that Kuroo might have witnessed what had happened in the council room.
Kuroo wasn't just jealous, he was possessive too. He demonstrated something I never imagined him to possess, he had the constraint to not hit him right in the spot which I quietly admired. I saw him walk away with aggressively long strides towards the staircase and I felt comforted.
Soon, Soma-san and Akihiko-san returned empty-handed and explained that the next set of files can be taken the first thing tomorrow morning. We were discussing what we were going to do with the information collected so far and Asami-chan came in blasting the door roaring, "I can't do this anymore!"
We queried what exactly happened and she replied, "It is so boring over there. I don't like it there. Since I'm the Fuku Kaichou for each and everything they are expecting me to make a decision. Why should I decide if the ribbons or black or red?" she sniffed, wiping a fake tear.
"You should be in the theatre club, you know that?" Akihiko-san snickered and soma-san let out a soft chuckle to which Asami-chan pouted. I on the other hand was enjoying everything that was going on.
"Ugh, stop it already. Apparently, Kaneda did all these now I am going to have to put up with all this shit because someone decided that I would be an appropriate choice," she glared at me with a killing stare, and yet I began to laugh like a madman at her childlike antics.
"From what I recall, you were pretty much excited to work with a certain someone!" I perked my eyebrow trying to contain my laugh.
"If it's any consolation that is the good part" she groaned and plopped right next to me.
"You don't like it there? You want to come back?" I muttered with sincerity and she leaned on my shoulder wandering into thoughts of her own. She seemed tired and done for the day but I was happy that I was her place of comfort.
We were making the minutes of the meeting for the day which we prepare every time the council gathers and we had to file it in the council records to present to the school committee at the end of the year. We were obliged to show that we happened to be working and weren't using the council room to pass time and have fun. We were getting on duty (OD) for every hour we spent in the council room after all.
We were interrupted by a child's wail and we all looked at each other in confusion. Asami-chan got up and said that, "I will check it out" but we heard the word 'kidnapper' and we all got alarmed so, we went out of the council room just in case the kid needed the extra help.
However, we saw Kuroo in a T-shirt and tracks who was struggling to hold onto a child. Asami-chan went to enquire Kuroo what happened to which I actively listened and the boy vigorously wriggled out of Kuroo's hand and started to run away from him.
He tried to run with his tiny legs and he was about to tumble down the floor which strangely reminded me of Humpty-dumpty. I caught him before he could fall and softly questioned the kid to which I got hilarious answers.
He called Kuroo a Potty uncle and a Kidnapper and I wanted to laugh so bad but I didn't want to since he looked like he was in a foul mood already. He doesn't like kids!
It's not like I like kids and I love to hang out with kids, I find them annoying in a lot of scenarios but I can get along just fine. The kid seemed pretty intelligent and profane, a dangerous combination. This situation gave me the opportunity to have my fair share of teasing on Kuroo.
I handed over the kid to Hayashi-sensei and the kid kissed my cheek as a way of thanking me and I could tell that Kuroo was quite bewildered. We walked back and Kuroo had to tease me and we had a playful moment of our own. Kuroo was different, his touch was warm and comfortable and I craved to be in his embrace for a long while but I knew I had to cut it short.
Anybody could spot us anytime and I definitely didn't want the whole volleyball team to catch us like the other time and I absolutely didn't want my council members to witness our intimate moment. Intimate? What am I thinking?
I was a bit shocked when he wanted me to call him Senpai and I almost assumed that he was a Kinky bastard but when he asked me to promise to not let someone who isn't him kiss me like they did today, I must say I felt excited. I knew our relationship was significantly platonic so far but his words held more meaning to it than I realized. He is still a kinky bastard though!
I was happy, nervous, excited, pleasant all at the same time. I wanted to coherently make a sentence that would give him the idea that I wanted this too, that I was willing to see how compatible we were but I gravely failed and it was embarrassing. The moment I realized it I wanted to run and hide before he could tease me the hell out of it but he asked me out on a date before I could enter my hiding hole, the council room. Maybe I didn't fail to convey that I'm interested? He picked up on that awkward flirt?
My excitement elated a hundred folds and my concept of reasoning had already left the chat. I managed to make friends, I managed to get some drama into my life and I managed to like someone and that someone feels the same towards me. A perfectly normal teen life! Can't get any more perfect.
I acted as if I couldn't hear what he said but I saw him smile which was pure and flawless. I shifted my focus inside the council room and I saw Asami-chan and Akihiko-san bearing a huge grin. They both heard it! Oh shit! there is no end to their taunts now.
"No," I warned trying to contain my excitement as well.
"Oh, yes!" A couple of them chuckled and Asami-chan jumped.
"Asami-chan, no!"
"Yes, Yes, Yes!" Asami-chan sung it like a kid.
"I am going to give him a piece of my mind when I get home today. What was he thinking yelling it like thatβ"
"Yeah! Right! Understood that you are shy and mad. We will zip it. Soma-san left and said he had something to do. So, let's get back to work, shall we?" Akihiko-san chortled.
We finished up our work as each and every one of us were controlling our urge to smile and discuss what just happened and I gushed, "It's not like I won a lottery. So, you all need to calm down!".
"Yeah you are right, you won the whole damn Vegas!" Asami-chan beamed.
"I couldn't have said it better!" Akihiko-san grinned, uplifting Asami-chan's frenzy.
A few minutes of that conversation continued to attack my poor soul and Jerry finally decided to show up saying, "Looks like you all are having fun but let me introduce myself. I am Jerry Reyne and she is my sister!"
"You are the one that Inaba-kun mentioned who got into trouble during the Japanese class today?" Asami-chan marveled shifting her sight between Jerry and me.
"He is adopted!" I uttered, glaring at Jerry not knowing what kind of trouble he got into.
"Thor did it better!" Asami-chan tittered.
"Huh?"
"Nothing! We will finish up; you guys can leave!" Akihiko-san assured.
We started to walk home and Jerry whispered, "Don't look back!"
I almost turned to look back and Jerry whispered again, "Hyena hair is following us!"
"Jojo, he has a name. You need to stop calling him that!"
"Yeah, I shouldn't diss your boyfriend!"
"He is not my boyfriend! Anyways, what did you guys converse about?"
"When I kissed you this morning, he looked at us with flames fuming out. So, I decided to add fuel to the fire. I might have given him the idea that I'm your boyfriend."
"Well, your fuel kickstarted his jealous engine and he asked me out!"
"Have you told him yet? That I'm your brother and whatnot?"
"No!"
"Good, I am going to tease the hell out of him until you tell him yourself!"
"What? No, I am going to tell him right away!" I ushered turning around but we had already crossed the 4th street crossing and Kuroo was nowhere to be found.
"What you miss him already? Damn, I feel hurt!"
"Drama queen!" I chuckled.
"Let's be honest here, we both are!" he muttered ruffling my hair and we went home as I looked forward to the next day to come.
