-Chapter 93-

I nervously fondled the hem of my dress as we waited for Lilith. My dad hadn't arrived either but I was thankful for it. There was no way I could forgive them after what they had done.
"So where the fuck is she?" A man yelled as he walked through the door. I had never seen him before and I didn't know what role he played in this mess.
"Come," Syn said as he grabbed my hand and pulled me up. I followed behind him as we walked towards the man that had just entered.
As we got closer my nerves grew. The tall man looked ethereal and scary in a way. He radiated a dangerous aura and I wanted to run away instead of walk toward him. The only thing keeping me relaxed was Syn's hand in mine.
The man tucked his hands into his pockets as we neared him and he smirked at our interlocked hands.
"Syn," he said with a curt nod and turned his attention to me.
"This is Queen," Syn said as he gestured to me. "And Queen, this is my father."
Lucifer.
I had never actually met him before and Syn calling him ugly a while back was almost laughable now. Lucifer was far from ugly. Very far.
He rubbed his stubble on his jaw as he looked down at me and smiled. "So, this is the girlfriend I've been hearing so much about." He held out his hand for me and I accepted it. He raised my hand to his lips and winked at me. "Pleasure to finally meet you, Queen."
"You too," I said shyly.
"Okay enough, let go of her hand," Syn said as he waved him away. Lucifer laughed and Genesis came to his side.
"So you've met my boyfriend." Genesis squealed gleefully as she locked arms with him.
I laughed at her actions and shook my head.
"Is she here yet?" Lucifer asked as he looked at Syn.
"Not yet, but we're also waiting on the angels," Syn said dryly.
"No need to wait any longer." My father spoke up as he walked into the room. "We're here."
I looked at them blankly and I felt the vein in my head tense. It was hard to look at my father after realizing how big of a liar he was.
Noticing my glare, Syn squeezed my hand and I looked up at him. He winked down at me and I let out a breath to calm myself. "Keep it together for now. I'll take care of everything soon," he whispered into my ear.
I looked up at him and saw seriousness and determination etched onto his features. I wanted to hurt Jonathan for the things he did, but I trusted Syn. So I'd have to control myself for now.
"Let's all take our seats," Julius yelled from the table.
As instructed we all walked to seats with our name tags and sat down. I was seated with Syn on one side of me and an empty seat on my other side. The name tag next to me had three bold question marks, it must've been for our "special guest".
My father sat directly across me, a permanent glare stuck on his face as he looked at me. I knew his stare was one of disapproval. One that told me he was disappointed to have raised a daughter that was with a person that was the opposite of everything he stood for. If he hadn't done what he did, I may have cared about what he thought about me. But I couldn't now.
Xyla sat on the other side of Syn and Felix was across her. Julius sat at the head of the table beside Xavier who looked uncomfortable to be next to him and at the opposite end of the table sat Lucifer and Genesis.
The table fell into calm chatter, and Syn kept his hand on my thigh to keep me calm. My phone vibrated on the table and I picked it up.
Xavier: Why is King Julius kind of cute?
I laughed as Syn looked at my phone and sent a glare in Xavier's direction. Xavier shrugged at him and looked back down at his phone.
Me: He's an asshole though.
Xavier: Oh definitely...but damn.
I laughed silently as Syn took my phone from my hands and began typing.
Me: I'm going to kick your ass on behalf of Cleo and Caspian!
Xavier:... :/ Did you just exclamation mark me? I'm so scared :O
Syn rolled his eyes and passed me my phone as I watched Xavier try his best to hold in his laugh.
I put my phone away and slouched into the seat as we waited. Lilith said 6 pm yet it was almost seven. I didn't know much about her, but punctuality was not her strong suit.
Finally, the room became quiet as we heard humming and the clicking of heels from the hallway. A moment later a woman stepped in and crossed her arms as she took in the decor. "You've outdone yourself, Julius." She said as she looked around. She walked towards us slowly and tilted her head at Julius. "I hate your suit though."
I watched the woman from my memory as she walked towards the table and sat down right next to me. She caught my eye and smiled softly. "Hello, Queen."
"Hi," I whispered nervously.
She cleared her throat and leaned against the table as she looked around at everyone. Her eyes finally landed on Lucifer and she smirked at him as he had a death grip on his glass.
"Hey, Lucy." She said with a wave.
"Lucy?" Genesis asked as she looked up at him.
Lucifer rolled his eyes and looked back at Lilith. "Why are you here, Lilith? You know I don't want you."
"Wow. You're as vain as I remember. I'm not here for you." She said with a scoff.
"Then why are you here?" Genesis asked, not even attempting to hide the disdain in her voice.
"Gen, it's so nice to see you again. Are you guys married yet?" Lilith asked as he looked between the two. Genesis averted her eyes while Lucifer shook his head in disappointment at Lilith. "Yeah, didn't think so."
Lilith looked back at me and looked down. "I like your shoes."
"Thanks. Do you want them?" I joked nervously with a small laugh.
"That might be fair." She teased.
Lilith looked back up but this time it was directly in front of us. She kept a straight face as she glared at my father. "Do you remember me, Jonathan?" She asked.
He laughed softly and shook his head as he drank a sip of his alcohol. "I think you have me mixed up with another person."
Lilith scoffed and turned to me. "Do you want to say it or should I?"
"I'll say it." I cleared my throat and sat up. "I know that you had my father killed and me taken away from my mother."
People around the table gasped and the color drained from my father's face. "What are you talking about?" Lucifer asked.
"Yikes," Lilith said as she grabbed a bottle of wine and filled the glass to the top. "Sorry." She muttered as everyone at the table looked at her. "I need to get drunk if we're going to have this conversation."
Chatter began to float around the table at the news being revealed and my heart raced. My father's eyes were full of anger as he faced me and I was sure if Syn wasn't here I'd pass out.
"I'm bored," Lilith said. "Let's move on. Do you have anything to say, Jonathan?"
He sat back and sighed. "There is nothing to say. It just happened."
"It just happened? You killed my husband and kidnapped my daughter. THAT doesn't just happen."
"Daughter?!" Genesis asked in shock.
"Husband?" Lucifer questioned.
Genesis sent another glare his way, but his eyes remained on Lilith. She glanced at me and I sat up. "Lilith is my mother," I admitted.
Everyone at the table seemed shocked except Syn and my father.
Genesis glared at me as if I betrayed her and I wanted to disappear from my seat. "And you didn't say anything?!"
"I just found out today," I admitted, making her shake her head and sink her head into her hands.
"Husband?... She's your daughter?!" Lucifer exclaimed. "Who the fuck is her father?"
"Fuck, I need a bigger glass," Lilith said. "Queen, please." She pointed to a bottle of wine. I passed it to her and she filled her glass to the brim once again.
"Lilith, I asked you a damn question." Lucifer spat as the room around us shook. Paintings hanging on the walls fell to the floor with a loud crash and my eyes widened.
Why is he so upset?
"Calm down, we wouldn't want your girlfriend thinking you were jealous, Lucy."
"Lilith stop playing with me and give me an answer!" He yelled.
Lilith's mouth dropped and she glanced around the room. "He can't be speaking to me like that." She laughed softly. "Maybe your girl will take that shit from you but you know I won't hesitate to fuck you up, Lucifer. Keep it cute."
Lucifer ran his hand through his hair. "I don't give a shit, Lilith. Who the hell is it?"
"Adam," she said simply.
Lucifer clenched his jaw as nodded. He became strangely quiet as he leaned back in his seat and turned to me. "Queen, how old are you?"
"Don't answer that," Lilith said.
"Queen," he said slowly.
I opened my mouth to speak but stopped when Lilith shook her head at me. "If we're going to do this you all may as well listen to the entire story."
"I would love to hear that," Genesis spat as she glared at Lucifer.
"What happened was-," Lucifer began until snaps silenced him.
"Ah-...nope, you've had centuries of my silence for you to tell the story. It's my turn," Lilith said. Syn squeezed my hand and I glanced at him. He seemed more concerned with how I was doing than the conversation going on. Lilith cleared her throat and took a sip of her drink. "Me and Lucifer's story isn't one about love and I got greedy. I never loved Lucifer, I never even wanted to be with him. I was created for him but love had nothing to do with this."
I watched as hurt passed Lucifer's eyes and he hung his head low.
"Lucifer fell in love with me shortly after I was created and as you all know, he gave me a necklace that would keep me alive. I played along with whatever narrative he had created in his head because I didn't want any problems.
"I was always told to stay home and I did whatever he told me. But one day I got tired and traveled outside of the gates of hell, to the garden. And when I got there, I met Adam and it was love at first sight. We began seeing one another for a while and I admittedly got jealous of Eve.
"Everyone thinks Lucifer gave Eve the apple blah blah blah, it was me. There you go Lucy, now you can stop bitching about it," she said as she rolled her eyes. "But I didn't expect Adam to bite it. Adam and Eve were kicked out of the garden and I traveled long distances to see Adam. Anyways, Lucifer found out about our relationship and he locked me away for almost a century.
"When he finally let me out, I looked for Adam and found him with children. He told me we couldn't be together anymore because he wouldn't leave his wife for his kids' sake. So I came back to Lucifer and played the perfect wife for a few hundred years.
"One day in the far future, Adam found me and told me he left his wife, so we ran away together. For a few centuries, we were happy, but then Lucifer found us and he tried to kill me." I gasped along with a few others at the table and Lucifer remained speechless. "He succeeded of course, and for almost a millennia my soul was kept in hell for whenever he felt like torturing me. I was angry at him for a long time, but I knew he was coming from a place of pain."
My phone vibrated once again and I lifted it on my lap subtly.
Xavier: MY BRAIN IS FUCKED RN.
Me: Me too.
Xavier: I need a shake and cheese fries after this. Come with me?
Me: Definitely.
"...Adam saved me."
"Huh?" I didn't mean to say it out loud but I did and Lilith turned to me with a frown.
"You weren't paying attention?"
"I'm sorry."
She sighed. "No worries. I just said after Lucifer trapped me Adam saved me. He used one of Cain's artifacts to kill Lucifer and we took over Hell."
"It wasn't just the artifact," Lucifer spoke up. "Tell them about how you drained me of my abilities first."
"Shh." She hushed and he shut his mouth with an eye roll. "Thank you. Before I was so rudely interrupted...Adam killed Lucifer. Somehow though this devil right here managed to come back to life. But to my surprise, he didn't come for me. Adam and I were able to live in peace for a while until Lucifer popped up again like the asshole he is and killed him with an artifact.
"I don't know what the deal with God is, but he just doesn't let people stay dead. Maybe it's his favorite son's doing but Adam was resurrected a few weeks later. And for some reason which I didn't understand, God gave me the ability to be able to have a child under the circumstance that I went back to Lucifer every few years.
"Adam and I had wanted a baby for so long that we agreed. I had a sort of on and off relationship with Lucifer for fifty years while I was with Adam. Then one day I found out that Lucifer, the same night I broke up with him, got you pregnant," she said as she tilted her wine glass towards Genesis. "His heartbreak from me was the extreme amount of energy needed to create a being as powerful as Syn."
Genesis looked at Lucifer and shook her head. "I thought the energy was because you fell in love with me," she whispered.
"Oof," Lilith said.
"You assumed it and I just never denied it," Lucifer muttered.
"Okay, quiet I'm not done," Lilith said. "So, Lucifer had Syn, and I continued the off and on again gig until I finally got pregnant." She looked at Syn. "Which is why I left you guys. I got pregnant with this one." She pointed at me.
"After getting pregnant I dropped the ruse and went back to Adam permanently and we gave birth to Queen. Our happy life was cut short when Mr. Jonathan over here...sent Eve to kidnap Queen. She killed Adam in the process and my child was ripped from my arms. I couldn't get into Heaven so I was never able to see her.
"Thank the heavens for his horrible aiming skills though. Because of that, the treaty was made and I felt Queen's presence return to this realm. I tracked her here and the rest is history." She shrugged.
I frowned and bit the inside of my cheek. Her story wasn't sitting right with me. It made sense, but parts of it were lingering in my mind.
"Why did God promise you both children?" I asked curiously.
She looked at me and smirked. "Smart girl, I was waiting for you to ask."
