-Chapter 82-
The bartender led me to stairs at the back of the club and I nervously followed him. "Where are we going?"
"To the roof," he said with a smile as he glanced down at me. "There's a beautiful view I'd love to show you."
I blushed under his gaze and we walked up the stairs hand in hand. We stopped at a large door and before he could open it, I tugged his arm. "I hope you know that I'm not interested in anything more than talking," I said. "I just got out of a relationship and I'm still-"
"I understand you." He gave me a comforting smile. "Matters of the heart are always a mess, but I swear to you that it's just nice to take a breath and talk to a stranger sometimes...nothing else."
I smiled back at him as he pushed the door open and we walked through it. Before it completely closed, I stopped it and turned to him. "Shouldn't we keep this open?"
"No need," he said. He reached into his pocket and jingled keys in the air. "I can always unlock it."I didn't know how I felt about somebody else being able to control when I could leave, but I ignored it. He seemed nice enough anyway.
"Okay," I said as I let go of the door. There were a few benches on the roof and it had no lights, but it was illuminated by the bright lights and skyscrapers in the city.
I looked around in awe and walked to look over the edge. Laying my hands on the stone railing I looked down and felt dizzy for a second. "Wow, we're high."
The bartender wrapped his arm around my waist and gently moved me away from the edge. "Easy there."
I laughed softly at him and he led me to a bench nearby and sat down. I sat down next to him and we sat in comfortable silence for a few moments. "What's your name?"
He smiled and shook his head. "Elliott."
I smiled to myself and waited for him to ask mine, but when he didn't, I frowned. His hand moved to my thigh and I subtly crossed my legs to move away from him. He noticed my movement and smirked at me. "What's a beautiful girl like yourself doing at a club like this alone?"
"I'm not alone. My friends are in the club," I said with a nervous laugh. His eyes moved to my legs and I looked down uncomfortably, lowering the hem of my dress. I cleared my throat to draw his attention back up to my eyes and he momentarily looked up. "So, when is your break over?"
"Don't worry about that," he whispered as he grazed my cheek with his knuckle, making me flinch. "I have all the time in the world."
I plastered a smile on my face and looked away from him. He seemed like a nice guy, but I was uneasy, most likely because I kept thinking about Syn lurking in the shadows or something.
"So are we going to hook up?"
"Uh, no," I said slowly as I shook my head. "I told you less than a minute ago that I wasn't here for anything else but-"
"Don't act like you haven't been flirting with me all night."
"I don't recall flirting," I said.
"Anyone with a pair of eyes could see that you wanted me. There's no need to be modest." He sighed once again as he ran his hand along my thigh.
I pushed his hand away and glared at him. "I don't know what you thought, but I'm telling you NOW that nothing is going to happen."
He laughed and his fangs extended as he looked back at me. "I'll be the one to decide that."
My eyes widened and I shot up from the bench. "Can I have the keys, please?"
He held the keys out on his finger and I moved to take them, but he moved them back. "If you want them you need to do something for me, sexy."
I felt bile rise in my throat as I thought of what he could mean. I took a step away from him and shook my head. How did his sweet persona become so filthy this quickly? "I'm not doing shit." Before I could take another step away from him he backed me up and pushed me against a nearby stone wall.
"You girls think you can just tease us and not give it up. I'm fucking tired of it!" He spat in my ear as his hand remained firmly on my neck.
I opened my mouth to reply, but the restriction on my breathing stopped me from saying anything. With my mouth parted he took the opportunity to plunge his lips onto mine. I screamed against his lips and tried to push him away, but he kept a firm grip on me. I felt his sharp teeth tear into my bottom lip and I cried out, memories of Justin flooding my mind.
"We'll take the check to go," Justin said to the server.
I tried to contain the fear I had at his words and kept a smile on my face. Tears stung my eyes at the thought of being alone with him, but I ignored them by taking a deep breath.
The server nodded and walked away. Justin turned back to me and I smiled at him. "You look great today."
"Thank you." I mumbled.
"We're going to go back to my hotel and talk after this," he said.
My heart beat fast and I swallowed the lump of air that was in my throat. "It's getting late, I should be heading home."
"I'm paying a lot for you," he said in a stern tone as he ran his hand through his peppered hair. "You need to obey me."
I remained quiet, but I nodded. I didn't want to disappoint my parents, they'd already done so much for me.
The drive to his hotel was quiet and uncomfortable for me. He kept his hand on my thigh the entire time and I kept my eyes on the window.
"We're here." He pat my leg. I looked up and saw the hotel building and my anxiety went up again. The last time we were alone I accidentally broke a glass in his house and he beat me. I had to stay in the hospital for two days, but ever since then, I've been extremely careful around him.
The driver opened the door for me and I followed Justin into the building. As his guards carried our bags behind us and we checked in, I could only focus on my thoughts. I tried not to show it, but I was terrified. I've been trying my best to be perfect for him so he wouldn't get mad, but he had high standards. If I breathed the wrong way I'm sure he'd get pissed.
I followed behind him as he opened the door to the room and I walked in. My breath caught when I looked at the one bed in the luxury room.
He grabbed my arm and led me inside when he saw I wasn't moving. His guards laid the bags on the floor and left, leaving us completely alone.
"Sit down, Queen. Relax." He said as he laid a kiss on my shoulder. The feel of his hot breath on my neck made me want to puke, but I kept it together.
I followed his instructions and sat down on the bed. His eyes traveled down my body and I cleared my suddenly dry throat.
Justin could be gentle when he wanted to, but most of the time he was terrifying. He loosened the tie on his shirt and tossed it aside. I kept my eyes on the window outside, suddenly intrigued by the color of the sky. I wasn't truly interested, but it was better than looking at him.
"Take off your dress," he commanded.
I turned back to him to see him completely naked and I struggled to maintain a neutral look on my face. I was in no way attracted to Justin. If he was a bit nicer I would have tried to see past it, but he was evil.
When I didn't answer or move to do what he said his hand flew across my face, leaving behind a painful sting and a ringing in my ear. If it was a normal slap maybe it wouldn't have hurt as much, but he didn't bother toning down his supernatural strength.
I held my cheek in pain and when I looked at my hand, I saw blood. I didn't dare to cry or make a sound as that would piss him off more. That was one of his rules, if I were to scream or cry, my punishment would be more severe.
"Take it off," he said seriously. I shivered at the sound of his voice and moved to do so, but stopped. This meant we were going to have sex and I was nowhere near ready for it. The thought of it made me want to crawl out of my own skin.
"I don't want to do this," I said in the nicest way I could.
He glared at me and wrapped his hand around my neck. "Did I fucking ask you?"
"I-"
This time he punched me causing me to scream out in pain. Realizing what I had just done I covered my mouth and shook my head at him. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scre-"
"Shut up," he spat. "I was being nice before, but I'm done." He crawled on top of me and held my hands down and I writhed under him, trying to fight back. I tried my hardest but I couldn't fight off such a creature. It was that night that I found out that some angels were demons in disguise.
I snapped my focus back to Elliott who was now nipping my neck with his hands digging into my underwear. My cheeks were wet with tears and I tried pushing him away, but nothing worked.
"Stop!" I begged.
"Shut up!" He threatened as he ignored my plea. He lifted my dress and I struggled to stop his hand, but it didn't work. His strength was by far greater than mine. I cried as I thought about all the times I had been through this. Justin and his pervertedness flashed continuously in my mind and I was disgusted. I felt powerless under his hold.
Inside of me, I felt something snap and the same fire from earlier came back. I pushed Elliott back and to my shock, he stumbled backward. He glared at me, lunging for me and I raised my hand at him desperately. "Don't take another step, please!"
He froze in his spot and grunted a few times. I watched him move his upper body towards me, but his feet remained planted on the ground. "What the fuck are you doing?!" He spewed. I flinched as he made another move toward me, but he stayed in his spot. I adjusted my dress and caught my breath as I leaned against the wall and I eyed him.
I could still smell his breath on my skin and the areas where he touched me felt on fire. I looked at him nervously as he remained glued to the spot.
Don't take another step.
I told him that and he obeyed me.
"Why are your eyes red?" he asked in fear.
"Oh, you're scared now?" I asked as I held back my tears. I took a deep breath and my eyes before looking straight at him.
"Get away from me," I commanded.
One step at a time, he walked away. His face was in complete confusion and fear as he looked behind him frantically. "Please stop!"
"That's what I asked you to do." I said as I slowly walked towards him. "How many girls have you brought here?"
"Uh I-...I don't know," he stuttered as he desperately tried to watch his steps. When his back hit the railing he stopped walking and tears fell down his face as he looked down the building. "Whatever you're doing, stop. I won't tell anyone."
My jaw clenched at his words and I balled my hands into fists. "You won't tell anyone?!"
"Yeah, this can stay between us!"
I nodded slowly at his words and controlled my anger that was bubbling. "Turn around." He moved so his back was to me and I watched his body shake with sudden sobs. "Stand on the ledge," I said.
"No! No!" He screamed as he lifted himself on to the ledge. He stood eerily still on top of the railing and I took a deep breath. "I'm begging you! Please don't do this to me!"
Just as mine did, his pleas went unanswered. All they did was bring a bittersweet smile to my face. "Goodbye Elliott. Jump."
He began screaming and his body involuntarily threw itself off the building. Everything was strangely quiet until I heard a loud crash from the entrance to the club and people screaming. I turned back to the door and tried to unlock it when I remembered that he had the keys.
Shit.
There was no way I could let someone could catch me up here...I'd probably go to jail. I needed to get down from here.
Fast.
I crossed the roof to the opposite ledge from where Elliott had jumped and looked down to see an alley. I healed extremely fast earlier, and I wondered how long bones would take to heal. I took off my heels and threw them down the building and watched them clatter on the granite alley floor four stories down. I stood onto the ledge and looked down.
"Holy shit," I muttered in a shaky breath, swallowing a breath as the breeze hit me. "Here goes nothing."
And I jumped.
