-Chapter 36-

I laughed inwardly as Syn and I began walking down the hall. He had no idea what I planned for tonight, and imagining his reaction just made me want to burst out into laughter. I stopped walking and turned to him. "Okay dreamboat, snap us to this place," I said as I passed him a piece of paper with the address of the club.

He nodded as he looked at the paper, completely unaware of where we were going and I resisted the urge to laugh. He snapped his finger and a moment later we were in front of a nightclub with red neon lights at the top that spelled Faint.

I found this club through a friend of mine and apparently it was one of the most notorious supernatural nightclubs in Juva. I was surprised that Syn didn't seem like he knew the place, he practically owned Juva; the realm adjacent to Jeradua. We spent a lot of our time here as kids and it was a second home for us.

We heard the thundering boom of the music from inside the club and I looked at the long line outside of the club, shaking my head.

"No way are we waiting in that, right?" Syn asked.

"Hell no, we're not."

Syn looked around but remained quiet with his hands in his pocket. I could tell he noticed the hushed whispers and sudden quietness from our arrival. "There are only underworlders here, I hear no heartbeats," he said as he glanced at me.

I smiled at him and nodded as he was putting the pieces together. I needed to hurry up and get him inside the club though. If he realized where we were he would leave and I couldn't have that. Tonight was important to me. I needed to completely forget about the damage Jess had done and entirely lose myself in here.

"Let's go inside," I said as I skipped the entire line and went straight towards the bouncer.

"Back of the line," he growled as he shoved my chest. The bouncer towered over me, the shimmering sides of his head interrupted with a thick red mohawk. Tattoos traveled the lengths of his arms and his face as he glared down at me. If I wasn't with Syn I may have been a little bit scared, but I felt fearless next to him.

I stumbled a bit backward from the force of his hand and Syn took a step toward him and shoved him against the wall. The whole line was now an audience and there were gasps resonating through the crowd. The bouncer looked at Syn and recognition crossed his features as the color drained from his face. But it was too late, the large man was now dangling on the wall with Syn's hand around his throat.

"S-sir, I'm sorry I-"

"I don't want to fucking hear it," Syn said in a terrifyingly calm tone.

I looked around and saw everyone watching quietly and I stepped forward to stop him. He didn't need to draw more attention to himself than he already did. "He's not worth it."
Syn rolled his eyes at me and removed his hand from the bouncer's throat, making the man fall to his knees and cough his lungs out. Syn stepped right past him into the club and I followed behind with a small smirk on my face.

"You would have really killed him?"

"Yes."

As soon as we entered the club I was hit with the smell of smoke and sweat. The music that was thunderous from outside now felt electric. The club was dimly lit with red neon lights, and you could only make out dark silhouettes on the dance floor. When I listened closer I began to hear moaning, and Syn must've heard it too because he faced me and scoffed. "A sex club? This is where you wanted to go?"

I grinned and nodded at him. "And since it's an underworld club...we can get drunk!" I said in excitement. Regular alcohol didn't do much for us besides ease our nerves. We needed a special concoction to be able to get inebriated and that was another reason I wanted to come
here.

"I'm not getting drunk," he said as he crossed his arms.

"Yes, you are." I grabbed his arm and pulled him to the bar.
The bartender looked at me and her eyes widened when she saw Syn. It was always funny to me to see how people reacted to him. He terrified them, but to me, he was a large teddy bear...a very aggressive teddy bear with anger problems, but still a teddy bear.

"Um-...I- what can I get you?" The bartender stuttered.

"Four shots of the strongest things you have," I said with a smile, her nervousness temporarily going away as she gave me a small smile. She turned to fix the drinks, my eyes remained on her. She was a cute girl. Her blonde hair was tied into a high ponytail down her back and she was wearing a tight leather dress. I let my eyes roam over her until my mind suddenly went to Jess. I began comparing this stranger to her and suddenly she was no longer attractive to me.

The girl put the four drinks in front of me and I grabbed them with both of my hands and walked across the crowded dance floor to a booth. I was pissed. I was supposed to be forgetting about Jess yet here I was thinking about her.
I slumped into the booth and began taking shots. They burned my throat and as soon as I swallowed it I immediately wanted to throw it up, but I pushed down the pain and continued.

Syn sat across from me and watched me skeptically. "All four were for you?" he asked as he took out his cigarettes.

I was confused until I looked down and saw all the shot glasses were empty. "Sorry," I muttered.

"Thinking about Jess?" he asked as he took a drag of his cigarette.

"I can't stop," I admitted.

"I think I know a way," he said. I looked up at him and saw him point his head to a woman who was sitting in a reserved area across the room just looking at me.

She had shiny blue hair that was in a straight bob that ended on her shoulders and she was wearing a see-through rose dress. I felt tipsy as I hit my chest, and her dark eyes began doing something to me. I felt my dick twitch as I bit my lip and I scoffed. I turned back to Syn to see him looking at me with his brow raised and I shook my head.

The moaning in the rooms of the club became mixed with the music in the club to combine in one heavenly melody and I let my worries fade. "I'm going to go dance, come with me?" I asked Syn as I stood up.

He blew out a cloud of smoke and shook his head with a small cough. "Fuck no."

I laughed at his reaction and made my way to the dance floor. I let myself move to the music and I didn't mind the occasional bumping of people nearby. The vibration on the floor from the music thundered throughout my body and it was addicting. I closed my eyes and let my body do what it wanted and I suddenly felt a hand around my waist.

I opened my eyes to find the woman with blue hair looking up at me. Her brown skin was glistening with a layer of sweat and she licked her lips as she looked at me. "Hey handsome," she said as she pressed her body against mine.

I didn't feel like talking so I wrapped my arm around her waist and turned her around so her back was against me. She ground her hips against me to the beat of the music and I reciprocated her movements. She was like a siren, tempting me with her body and drawing me in. Hopefully, this wouldn't end as it did for the pirates in the story.

After a few minutes, a tall man with pink hair came up to us. He was wearing a colorful blazer with no shirt underneath and his entire chest was covered in tattoos. He has a nose piercing and his hands were covered with large jewelry.

The blue-haired woman reached out to him and pulled him into a kiss right in front of me and I stood there in shock. She pulled away from him after a few seconds and looked back at me. "This is my husband," she said in a sultry voice as she ran her hand down my chest.

Her husband looked at me and gave me a sly grin that showcased his fangs. "He's sexy."I nodded awkwardly and took that as my cue to leave. I shook my head and tried to erase the odd couple from my memory, but it was difficult. The woman was so enchanting that I found myself wanting to go back.

I returned to the table and found Syn with multiple shots in front of him as he continued smoking.

He took one and completely downed it and looked back at me. "So, are you going to them?"

I leaned against the booth and crossed my arms. "Who?"

He tilted his head and I followed his eyes to see the blue-haired woman sitting back in her area on her husband's lap just enticingly looking at me. His hand was wrapped around her neck as he drank blood from her neck and she moaned.
He pulled away from her, blood was running down his chin as he turned to face me. He gave me a wink and I immediately turned back to Syn, shaking my head.

"No." I looked back at the couple once again and found them making out. They looked completely absorbed in one another, but as I looked harder I could see them sneaking glances at me.

"Are you sure about that?" Syn asked. "For someone who isn't interested you're looking at them a lot."

"Well, if the girl was alone I would be interested," I muttered as I downed a shot.

"You were looking at the guy too, no?" He asked as he tilted his head.

I glared at him and threw my head against the booth in frustration. "Syn I'm not-"

"I didn't say you were..." he said.

I shook my head at him and pinched the bridge of my nose. This man was stressing me out. "Is that not what you were implying by saying I kept looking at him?"

"No, I just made an observation."

"Whatever," I muttered.

"Xavier, I know how you look when you want to do something, and right now you want to do that." He tilted his glass towards the couple. I looked back at the pair and found myself drawn to them for some strange reason. Their eyes were pulling me in like some sort of tether and I was finding it increasingly difficult to look away.

I sighed and ran my hand through my hair, slightly giving in. The alcohol running through my veins made me a bit bolder than I normally was.

Where was my inner life coach when I needed him? It's like when I don't want him there he's there, but when I actually need him, he's not.

"Will you judge me?" I asked. I didn't realize how important that was to me until it came out of my mouth. Syn was my only family and what he thought about me meant everything.

"Never."

I nodded slowly as a smile spread across my lips. I felt a weight completely lift off of my shoulders, yet I made no move to leave. I was still overthinking like I usually did.

"Xavier. Fuck it," Syn said with a shrug as he disturbed me from my wild mind.

I smirked and looked at him then at the couple then back to him. "Fuck it?"

Syn glanced at his drink and scoffed then he looked back at me, lifting his glass. "Carpe diem, Xavier. Fuck it."

I slowly stood up from the table and let my body guide me toward the couple. When I arrived they looked up at me and moved on the couch to make space for me between them. "We were hoping you would come." The man said with a lopsided smile. I couldn't find the words to say, but his wife pulled me by the hand to sit in between them.

Within a second she guided my head towards hers and her lips were on mine. I let myself get lost in the kiss as I tasted a hint of honey and bourbon. A moment later she pulled away and I felt a hand move my chin in the other direction.

I locked eyes with the strawberry pink-haired man and he smirked as he looked at my eyes then my lips. I gulped in anticipation, not knowing what to do next but my questions were answered as his lips landed on mine. The kiss started off slow but as I let myself explore what was going on it became a passionate one. His wife began sucking my neck and my moans went muffled into the man's lips.

It was unlike anything I'd ever done before but I let go of all my inhibitions and returned every single touch and kiss they gave me.

Way to go, X.
