-Chapter 140-

I had no idea why Cleo and Caspian were comforting me after everything that happened. With them here with me and hearing Syn's words, I finally felt a semblance of peace since he died.

"I love you," I whispered into Cleo's ear. Her head snapped to me and a tear fell down her cheek as she smiled. I looked over to Caspian who was crouched down beside me and looking at the lawyer. "Cas, I love you."

His eyes widened as he turned to me and I smiled. "We love you too, Xavier."

We all had plenty to talk about but I knew we'd be okay. Cleo sat on my lap and I leaned my head against her shoulder and held Caspian's hand as we listened to the lawyer.

"Queen was supposed to go next but I'm going to skip you for a minute, Princess." The lawyer read awkwardly. Queen smiled and wiped a tear from her face.

"Caspian and Cleo Deveaux, the two of you are quite spectacular, to be honest. I don't know to this day, how either of you managed to weasel your way into my life. Is there some sort of technique that Xavier taught you? Hmm? Whatever it is, thank you for doing it. A lot of my funniest moments these past few weeks were from the two of you.

Cleo, keep being you because you are amazing. Caspian, my acquaintance, I'd like you to know that as I'm writing this, I see you as my friend. Don't get too big-headed though, asshole. To both of you, I leave a few of my clubs that will be shown to you after this. I hope both of you achieve everything you wish to. Do me a favor though? Avenge me. Annoy Xavier every day of his life, just as he did me. Take care of one another."

"Will do," Cleo said as she smirked at me.

I smiled at the trio in front of me and gripped my knee to keep from getting emotional. I'd been doing a pretty good job at not losing it but my tolerance was wearing thin. This hurt. I missed Syn more than anything.

"Last, but certainly not least, Queen. This one is one of the more painful ones to write. I hope you're okay. I know you're probably hurting but please don't. I'm aware it's not that simple but I'd like you to be happy, that's all I ever wanted when it came to you. I'd leave a lot to you but I'm afraid you'd nag me from beyond the grave. There is a bank account available for you if you'd ever like to use it.

I'd like a favor from you though, keep my last name. If someday-it pains me to even write this, but if you do get married someday, keep my name. Regardless of who you're with, I'd like you and everyone to be aware that you're my wife, forevermore.

Take care of our daughter please, and if for any unfortunate reason, our daughter is no longer with you. Trust that I'll take care of her. I more than love you like crazy. P. S. Thanks for letting me trip you, Princess."

Thanks for tripping me, Syn.

After we wrapped up the will reading, we made our way to the venue that Syn picked out and decorated. I had to admit that he had a lot more taste than I realized. It was a nice party but none of us were really in the mood to party. Jess and Gen swayed to the music together and Xavier was with Caspian and Cleo.

I sat at the bar and drank whiskey silently. I wasn't a big drinker but I wanted to see Syn's fascination with the liquor. It was disgusting to me but, I felt like a bad bitch while doing it.

My mind like it had hundreds of times since Syn and Xavia died, went through the events of that day. I hadn't seen Lilith since I stripped her of her powers but I knew she had something to do with it. If she were to ever pop up, I'd destroy her.

She didn't only play a factor in Syn and Xavia's death, but she also took my father from me all over again. Since I woke up from Xavia's death, I never saw him again.

It never made sense to me either how the seers knew Xavia died that quickly. Every fiber of my being was pointing to Lilith, Felix, and Xyla working with them but I figured it was a reach. I still couldn't help but let it run through my mind continuously, though.

The doors opened and Mia walked in with Cain. She gave me a sympathetic look and rushed over to hug me. "Are you okay?"

"I'm alright," I replied as I hugged her back.

I looked at Cain and he came next to me and kissed the top of my head. "Are you still bothering Mia?" I asked.

He gave me a looked and rolled his eyes. "I'm not bothering her at all," he said. He looked up at Mia and raised a brow. "Am I bothering you, Mia?"

"Yes," she said as she crossed her arms.

"Well, good thing nobody asked you," he said in response.

"Queen, please tell him to back off," she begged as she clasped her hands together.

"No, tell her to go on a date with me," he said.

Over the past few months, I was always on Mia's side when it came to this but Cain was persistent. I could tell he really liked her and I knew he would treat her well.

"Mia, can you reconsider?" I pouted. Cain smiled that I had taken his side and Mia's mouth dropped.

"Firstly, I have a boyfriend. And secondly, Cain robbed my bank three times in the past month, Queen," Mia ranted in annoyance.

My eyes widened and I turned to Cain but he held a finger up. "She's lying about having a boyfriend and I robbed her for a good reason."

"Not lying but what was the reason?" She asked.

Cain looked around as if he'd get an answer and then finally turned back to her. "Okay, so I don't have a reason. But it's not my fault her bank has bad security. I told them how to fix it."

Mia let out an exasperated breath and walked away and Cain followed behind her. They bickered as they walked to another part of the room and I laughed.

My laughter, however, died down as Lucifer sat next to me on a barstool and took my drink from my hand. I watched him down the drink quickly and I raised a brow at him. "You alright?"

"No, not at all," he admitted as he gestured for the bartender to come. "Two more of those."

I swiveled my chair to face him and I frowned. He was okay this morning, did Syn's reading change something. "What's wrong?"

"Hearing Syn remind me to take care of James made me think about doing something I've been planning to do for a while," he said quietly.

"What is that?" I asked.

"Step down from Hell," he admitted. I gasped and he gave me a knowing look. "I know. What is hell without Lucifer, right? But I made a promise to my son."

"What about your plans to rule Heaven?" I asked.

"I have someone to take my place," he admitted. "They're strong enough to do it themselves. I made sure of it. Besides I won't be gone completely, I just won't be on the throne. I want to give James the life I couldn't give Syn."

"I understand," I said.

"Thank you."

"But the underworld won't be upset with you?" I asked again. I didn't mean to throw questions at him but I couldn't help it. I was worried.

"They may be. But they like the person I've chosen. I know they'll lead them well," he said as he nodded in determination.

"Well, don't let it be a mystery. Who's the new King of the Underworld?"

Six Months Later

"Why were we summoned here anyway?" Felix asked in annoyance. Xyla scowled at the demons nearby as clung to Felix's arm and he looked just as disgusted.

"Lucifer had an announcement," I said as I looked at our invitation.

There was chatter around the room about the reason for being there but no one seemed to know why. My eyes moved around the room and I saw Xavier with Cleo and Caspian and Cain. I walked over to them and waved. Things were still a bit awkward but we had made some amends.

"Hey, do you all know why we're here?" I asked.

Everyone shook their head except for Xavier who nodded. "Lucifer has something to tell everyone."

"What is it?" I asked as I looked around. It made me nervous about what he had to say. The seers were here along with a lot of the rulers in different realms. A room full of the most powerful people in the world, in Hell. That didn't sound good at all.

"You'll see," Xavier said with a smile. "Let's all go to the front."

We moved through the large dungeon-like room until we reached the bottom of a staircase that led to the throne. I saw Queen looking around and I waved at her. She ignored me of course, but she walked toward us to talk to everyone else. I didn't know what else I could do to get her to forgive me but I missed her like crazy.

Xyla and Felix moved to us and Xyla smirked at us as she slowly walked towards Queen. "Hello, baby sister," she said.

Queen's eyes quickly flickered red and she glared at Xyla. "What makes you think you can speak to me?"

"Is that any way to speak to your Queen?" Xyla teased.

"You're not a Queen at all, Xyla. Sit your ass on whatever throne you want but you're still nothing," Queen said calmly.

"You're still upset at what happened?" Xyla asked innocently. "It's been like over eight months, get over it."

"Get over you killing my husband?" Queen retorted, a fiery anger in her gaze.

"I did no such thing." Xyla shrugged. "I wasn't even there."

"I know you had something to do with it," she snapped before looking up at Felix. "And you...you call yourself a man of God but you're more wicked than demons I've met in Hell. Both of you are disgust—"

Before we knew it Felix slapped Queen across the face hard and she scoffed. Caspian and Xavier moved to attack him but Queen stopped them. "It's fine everyone," she said as she moved her hair out of her face. She looked up at Felix and laughed. "You're so fucking pathetic."

He raised his hand to strike her once again but she grabbed his arm before he touched her. "Slap me again and I'll make sure you never even try to have kids again." He angrily snatched his hand away from her hold and she laughed softly.

"Everyone!" A voice thundered throughout the room. I looked up and my breath hitched as I saw Lucifer standing next to his throne. I missed him so much but he wouldn't speak to me either. "If I may have your attention," he commanded.

The room became quiet per his request and everyone faced him. The reason why everyone was here was still strange to me. The seers were the most surprising guests. I expected Queen to try to attack them here after what they did but they remained calm and untouched.

"Why are we here?" Eve yelled.

"Shut up and I'll tell you," Lucifer said sweetly. Eve crossed her arms and Lucifer adjusted his tie. "I'm here to tell you all, that I am stepping down as ruler of Hell."

My eyes widened as everyone in the room gasped in shock. This was beyond surprising, Hell meant everything to Lucifer. He wouldn't just step down.

"Who will rule us?!" Someone in the crowd yelled.

"I have someone to replace me," Lucifer said. "Someone I believe is more than capable. Even more capable than me."

Everyone looked around the room as if they'd be in here but we were all confused. "Who?!" Xavier yelled from his spot next to me.

Lucifer smiled and pointed at him. "I'm glad you asked. Well...you heard him. Introduce yourself."

A cloud of black smoke appeared next to Lucifer and everyone watched in shock. The smoke spun around quickly and disappeared, leaving Queen standing next to Lucifer.

"Hello, everybody," Queen said.

"That fucking skank," Xyla sneered from her spot.

The underworld creatures in the room began cheering and Queen bowed slightly. Lucifer moved the crown from his thrown and set it on top of Queen's head. When she stood up straight they smiled at one another and Lucifer stepped aside, leaving Queen alone.

She slowly walked down the steps and took a deep breath. "Standing before you all is not the same weak Queen from before. You are all now looking at the new Queen of Hell."

There were murmurs from the crowd and I turned to see Xavier grinning brightly in Queen's direction. "There was peace between all of the realms for decades but it has NEVER been fair. Angels could kill Underworlders left and right but as soon as one Underwolder kills a heavenly creature, we're demonized?!"

The Underworlders cheered again and Queen stepped down onto the floor as she looked around. "Today, that changes! Lucifer took mercy on this world because of his love for Genesis. His love for their future. I, the woman that now stands before you all has no love or mercy left in her heart."

"It was taken from me by the people who vowed to restore peace," Queen yelled as she stood directly in front of Felix and Xyla. "Therefore, I will take everything from the people that took him from me. Today may not be the day where I act upon my instincts but I only get stronger from here."

She quickly turned away from them and walked around once again. The crowd of Heaven's creatures seemed to be repelled by her as they moved away in fear when she was close.

"The name of Syn SinClaire rung fear into your hearts for years. But now he's gone, and in his place is a far more evil being," she said sternly. "I no longer have anything to lose, therefore I'm the greatest enemy Heaven and Jeradua will ever have to face. My sole mission is to watch your realms burn."

Eve began laughing and we all turned to her. She stepped towards Queen and grabbed her shoulders. "You dare threaten Heaven? God would never all-"

"Send God a message for me," Queen said with a smile. Eve looked at her in confusion and Queen plunged her hand into her chest. Screams echoed in the room and the seers ran to stop Queen. With the flick of her hand, they all flew back and hung from the walls of the room. Queen looked back at Eve who was now clawing at Queen's hand.

"Somebody stop her!" Felix yelled. Nobody moved to do ask he said and we just watched Queen.

"Tell God, that I will be killing his sweet Angels one by one until he comes to speak to me," she said calmly. Queen crushed her heart and Eve fell to the ground with a loud thud.

Everyone looked at her in complete bewilderment. No one had ever dared to kill any seers. A guard passed Queen a handkerchief and she gave him a sweet smile. "Thank you." She wiped her bloodied hand and sighed.

Queen looked around once again. "Let that be a sign to you all, that hell no longer has any boundaries. You will no longer walk over us anymore," She said in a strong voice.

"Thank you all for your time. We'll be seeing you soon."
