-Chapter 131-

The sunlight from outside began to flood through the room as dawn passed and morning came. I didn't have to look at Queen to know she was still asleep next to me. Her quiet snoring was indication enough and occasionally she muttered my name, which I found heartwarming.

A knock at the door took my attention away from the sound in the room and I shot up from the bed. I walked to the door, quickly opening it and raising my brows as I spotted
Matilda. "Mr. SinClaire," she said as she bowed slightly.

"Hello, Matilda. How may I help you?"

"I have something for Queen," she said as she held her hand up. I looked at the white envelope momentarily before taking it from her.

"Thank you." She nodded and walked down the hall and I closed the door behind me. I eyed the letter carefully and rolled my eyes as I saw who it was from.

Mia.

What reason was there for her to try to be speaking to Queen? I didn't know what plan she had up her sleeve, but I wasn't in the mood for her games. The palace was aware that she left, but we didn't question where and why.

I wanted to open the letter and possibly tear it to shreds, but it wasn't for me. I had no right to rip up a letter addressed to Queen. I just had to trust that Queen would tell me if it was anything serious. I set the letter down by her nightstand and threw on a shirt.

I walked back to Queen to check that she was still sleeping and when I saw that she was, I walked out. I walked a few doors down to where Xavier was and I knocked. The door opened and Xavier quickly pulled me and caused me to stumble into the room. He searched the palace halls with an unneeded paranoia before closing the door behind him.

"Let's do this," he said in determination.

Cain groaned and laid his head back on the chair. "Why do I have to be here?" Cleo pushed Cain's legs off the table and he winked at her.

"You can leave," Caspian suggested happily.

"Oh, but I don't want to."

"Pfft, then why are you complaining?"

Cain smirked and laughed softly. "I'd just like someone to beg me to stay, Caspian."

"This dude," Caspian muttered lowly.

There were notepads and pens scattered throughout the surface of the table and I took a seat at an empty chair. Xavier cleared his throat and stood at the head of the table. "Listen up, people," he said. "We may have failed at Syn's proposal."

I furrowed my brows in confusion. "Hey-"

"...but we will NOT fail at these vows," Xavier said. "We have three days until the wedding."

"Do you have any idea what you want to say?" Caspian asked me.

"Umm," I fished around for a piece of paper in my pocket and unfolded it as they watched me hopefully. Caspian grinned as I passed it to him, but his smile dropped when he read what I wrote.

"This is one sentence," Caspian said.

I shrugged. "I know. I'm not good at this," I admitted with a groan as I ran my hand down my face. I was completely screwed.

"We'll figure it out," Cleo said soothingly, as she pat my shoulder.

"Do you have a best man?" Caspian asked as he glanced at Xavier. Xavier looked away from his phone and pretended he didn't hear him and I shook my head. If he was going to act oblivious so I'd ask him, I was going to mess with him instead.

"No, I don't. But if you're offering-"

"What?" Xavier said as his eyes moved in my direction. "Why wouldn't I be your best man?"

"Do you want to?" I asked.

"Only if you ask nicely," Xavier replied.

"Caspian, you're my best man."

"I'll do it! Damn, don't be too excited," Xavier said dryly as his head hung low.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked as I noticed his slumped shoulders and frown.

Xavier looked up at me and shrugged. "I feel like sometimes you don't give a shit about me, Syn. If I were getting married, I couldn't even think about making anyone else my best ma-...I just... I never really believed you when you said I wasn't your best friend, but it's becoming apparent these days that you may mean it," he said.

Caspian held his hand to comfort him and I raised my brow. "That's how you feel?" I asked.

"It is."

I nodded and turned my attention back to the table. The room was now tense and everyone looked uncomfortable until Cleo cleared her throat and looked at me. "So...Syn, what's the baby's name? Have you chosen one?"

"Yes, we did."

"Whoo!" Cain cheered from beside me. "Drumroll please."
Everyone except Xavier who still had his head hung low began hitting the table to imitate a drum.

I took a deep breath. "Xavia SinClaire."

They all gasped at the name and I watched as Xavier's head slowly moved back up to mine. "Are you serious, Syn?" He asked in shock as he covered his mouth.

"I'm serious."

He looked around and a few moments later he laid his head in his hands. He looked up a while later and I saw his red puffy eyes as he wiped tears away. "I can't believe you," he said with a laugh. "Are you really serious?"

I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Yes, Queen and I chose it a few days ago."

"That's so..." he began crying again and Cleo along with Cas wrapped their arms around him to comfort him. A few moments ago he was sad that I didn't think he was my best friend, and now he was cheering that I named my daughter after him. His mood swings were going to be the death of me. "Thank you," he whispered with a joyous laugh.

"Well, you are her godfather, so-"

"What?!" He exclaimed.

"What?"

"I am?!"

"Yup," I said. My words made him break down even more and I shook my head. "If you keep crying I'll change my mind."

"Aww, that was cute," Cain teased. "Anyway, let's get this vows shit over with. I have things to do."

"Nobody is making you stay," I pointed out. He waved his hands in the air to dismiss my very valid argument and I shook my head.

"Okay guys, let's get started," Cleo said as she sat back in her seat. She cleared her throat and looked up at me.

"So Syn, how has your life changed after meeting Queen?"

I sat in my bed and bit my lip deep in thought. Should I even open this letter? What could Mia possibly want to say to me after everything she did? I crossed my legs and set the letter down on the bed and just stared at it. I looked up from the letter when the door opened and Cleo walked in. "Hey," she said.

I smiled at her and she looked around nervously. "Umm, I just came to get something for Syn."

"He's with you guys?" I questioned in confusion. I wondered where he was when I woke up in bed alone.

"Yeah, we're just chilling," she muttered. "Do you mind?" She asked as she pointed to the closet.

I shrugged. "Not at all, go for it."She smiled and scurried to the close and I brought my attention back to the letter. "Fuck it," I whispered as I picked it up. I tore open the letter and unfolded the paper and held it up to my face.

I let out a deep breath as I read the letter and closed my eyes. I didn't know if it were some sort of joke or if she was being honest with me. I read the letter another three times and sunk into the bed. I hoped it was real and that she was getting help, but could I risk her lying?

If it was before I would've been worried about my life, but my powers now offer me some sort of safety. I pulled out my phone and searched up the address on the back and a therapist's office did in fact show up.

Maybe she's telling the truth...

Cleo stepped out of the closet with a bag on her shoulders and she looked like she was trying to hide it from my view. Seeing her try so hard was honestly hilarious so I didn't push her to tell me. "Cleo," I called.

She halted her steps and turned to me. "Hmm?"

"In thirty minutes, can you tell Syn I went out?" I asked.

"Sure," she said. "Why?"

"I'll tell you later," I said as I got out of bed.

"Queen," she said as she walked toward me.

"Yes?"

"You guys had a lot of fun yesterday, huh?" She asked as she wiggled her brows. I didn't know what she meant until I realized that I was only in a bra. There were hickeys all over my body and I raised the blanket to cover myself.

"Cleo, stop," I whined in embarrassment.

"Hey, I'm proud," she said.

"Mhmm."

"I need to go but I want details later," she said as she walked backward.

"Okay," I whispered.

"Okay, bye babe. Kisses!" She hurriedly left the room and I quickly started getting ready to go. Mia didn't tell me what time her session was, so I was left to guess. It was already two p.m. in Juva and for all I knew, I could've already missed it.

I took a quick shower and threw on a grey mini dress and a denim coat. My hair hung in a curly heap above my head and I tied it quickly into a ponytail. I slid on my white sneakers since heels weren't working for me and when I was done I looked at myself in the mirror. When I saw that no hickeys were visible, I gave myself a mental high-five. Good job.

I typed the address down onto my phone to memorize it and went to an empty wall. Lucifer taught me how to create portals, but I'd never made one alone. Taking a deep breath, I did what he taught me and my eyes widened as I looked at the portal taking shape on the wall. At my success, I clapped excitedly and walked into it, and ended up in front of the office building. I slowly walked up the steps and opened the sleek glass door. I walked into the cool building and the receptionist welcomed me.

"Hi, ma'am. How can I help you?"

"Umm, I'm here for a Mia Everton. She's a patient of a therapist here, but I don't know what time she comes," I admitted with a grimace. I sounded like some sort of stalker and I'd be surprised if they actually gave me the info.

"I'll check into that for you," she said sweetly. "Have a seat."

"Thank you." I turned to the reception area and walked towards the seats. I stopped in my tracks when I saw a familiar redhead reading a book in her seat. I immediately recognized Mia but she looked a lot different. More...put together.

She looked up at me through thick glasses and smiled. "You actually came."
