-Chapter 126-

Syn and I walked hand in hand down the halls to go to our room. I took a step and a pain shot through the pads of my feet. "Oww shit," I whined.

We stopped walking and Syn looked down at me. "What is it?"

"Ahhh, let's just walk," I deflected. Syn had told me that my feet were going to hurt and I told him they wouldn't. I refused for him to be right, so I'd deal with the pain until we made it to the room.

I bit my lip to keep from whimpering and a few steps later, Syn stopped walking and turned to me. "I told you not to wear those."

He crouched down and lifted my foot as I laid my hand on his shoulders to steady myself. He removed my heels one by one and I was left standing on the cold floor of the palace barefoot.

"Beauty is pain, Syn," I whispered dramatically.

He stood up from the floor and glanced at me. "Fuck that."

I grinned up at him and clasped my hands together behind my back. Syn slowed his pace to match mine since my feet were killing me and I stole a few glances his way.

"Why are you looking at me, Princess?" He asked.

"I can't look at you?" I asked.

"Just asking why."

"Because you're hot," I admitted.

I waited for a reaction from him but instead of saying anything, he wrapped an arm around my shoulders and kissed me on my head. As we neared our room I heard the sound of a lullaby playing and I frowned.

Syn and I turned in the direction of the music and saw a sliver of light coming from a room. We walked towards it and pushed it open and I gasped when I saw what it was.

"So my mother went insane," Syn muttered.

Insane wouldn't have been the word I used for it. The nursery was beautiful. Then walls were painted with a field of sunflowers and the sun setting which was painted in a pink and purple sort of hue.

"This is so pretty," I squealed excitedly.

I looked over to the closet and gasped loudly as I saw it filled with miniature clothing. I walked over to it and pulled out an outfit. As I looked at it I couldn't help but laugh and Syn looked at me like I was insane.

I held it up to him and he raised a brow. "It's so tiny."

"Yeah, because it's baby clothes." He took the clothes from my hand and set them down and wrapped his arms around me. "What are we naming her?"

"I have no idea but we don't really have much time," I said with a wince. The baby was going to be here in a little over two weeks and I was nervous. I wasn't really ready plus we had no name. "What do you think?"

"I don't know. I was thinking we should let her choose," he said.

"Really? You know if we let her choose she's going to name herself Bambi." After Syn read her the story she couldn't stop talking about it. It was adorable but crazy at the same time how much she loved it.

"If she wants to call herself Bambi, then oh well," he said. "Let's just see. We can ask her how she feels about certain names."

"Alright," I said.

We left the nursery and within the hour we were laying in bed. I yawned and laid on my side as Syn pulled my back to his chest. He kissed my neck and I smiled. "Thank you for proposing."

He laughed softly and hugged me tighter. "Thank you for saying yes."

With the feel of Syn's rising and falling chest from behind me, I let myself drift off to sleep.

I woke up in the similar sunflower field and frowned when I saw my father. I met him a few days ago and it was quite a tearful reunion. I wished that I could get to know him more but these short dreams wouldn't allow that. Hopefully, we'd all find a way to bring him back in the future.

He looked up at me and gave me a nervous smile and wave and I waved back. Syn appeared next to me and I took his hand as we walked toward my father.

"Where is she?"

"Umm..." he said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Adam..." Syn warned.

We heard a cooing and a small giggle from the floor and we looked down. A baby was looking up at us and giving us a toothless smile with its hands in its mouth.

"Aww," I said as I crouched down to it. I could tell it was my daughter since her white dress was flooded around her on the floor. I wrapped the now large dress around her and picked her up. "What happened to her?"

"Well, we were bored and wanted to play around with the age manipulation thing in here. She made herself an old woman but she was having a bit too much fun and..." he gestured towards the baby.

I laughed softly and looked down at her. "She's adorable," I looked up at my dad. "At what age will she be like this?"

"I'm not sure but that can't be more than six months," he replied.

The baby continued making cute sounds and I looked down at her to see her eyes on mine. A few moments later she looked behind me to see Syn and her tiny chubby arms reaching for him.

"What if I drop her?" Syn asked nervously as I turned to him.

"Just don't," I said.

He grimaced and held his arms out and I placed the baby into them. He remained frozen for a few seconds then relaxed when the baby returned to making its happy sounds.

"Hey baby girl," Syn whispered as he tapped her cheek. She gave him a large smile and laugh and I put my hand over my chest. My heart was melting at the sight.

My father came to my side and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. "So he proposed."

"Hmm?" I hummed as I turned to him.

He pointed down at my hand and I lifted it to see the ring. I nodded and smiled at him. "Yeah, he did. Thank you."

He kissed the top of my head and we turned back to Syn when the baby started crying. "What did I do?" He asked in a panicked tone.

"Just rock her," my father instructed.

Syn began rocking her awkwardly but she continued crying.

"Singing to her might help as well," my father teased.

Syn took him seriously and immediately began singing a nursery rhyme. I covered my mouth to stop my laugh from being heard and Syn began walking around and rocking her as he sang the song.

I'd never heard him sing before and I had to say that his voice was actually pretty good. I needed to definitely get him to sing me something one day.

The baby stopped crying and Syn let out a sigh of relief as he came back to us. "I did it."

Our eyes widened as black smoke wrapped around the baby. It remained quiet and after a few moments the smoke disappeared and a little girl was in Syn's arms.

"Hi," he whispered.

"Hi, dad," she said happily as she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him.

"How old are you now?" I asked.

"Seven. I'm trying to get back to normal but I'm sleepy," she said as she yawned.

"We're trying to name you. Can we ask you a few names?" Syn asked soothingly.

She looked up at him and nodded tiredly. We quickly listed off names but she said no to almost all of them.

With a sigh, Syn looked at me. "We should ask her about that one," I hinted to Syn.

He smiled and nodded as he looked down at her. He told her the name and she nodded excitedly. "I love it!"

"Okay," Syn said as he looked back up at me. "We have a name."

I grinned up at him and our daughter yawned once again. Within seconds she fell asleep and Syn set her down gently on the floor. He kissed the top of her head and stood back up.

"I guess we should wake up now," Syn said.

I nodded and we turned to my father. It almost slipped my mind but I held my hand up. "Wait!"

He looked at me with a raised brow and I cleared my throat. "Can we trust Cain?"

"Yes, you can trust him," he said with a small smile. "He'll annoy you to death but he's trustworthy. Just don't lie to him, he tends to get very angry when he's lied to." I watched as the same dark look passed over my father's face as it did with Cain. Strange.

"Okay," I said.

"I'll be seeing you two," he said and he snapped his fingers.

I woke up and sat up tiredly in the bed. My phone buzzed on the nightstand and with a groan I picked it up, not bothering to check the contact. The first thing I heard was a scream that could belong to no one other than Genesis.

"Shut up," I heard Lucifer whine on the other side of the phone.

Genesis giggled and I smiled at the sound of it. I missed her like crazy. It feels like it's been months since I've seen her.

"Congratulations," she yelled excitedly.

I was confused as to what she meant at first until I remembered what recently happened that was "congratulation" worthy. "Oh, thank you," I said sweetly.

"I have to go," she said. "I'll call you when I get home, okay?"

"Okay, bye Gen."

"Who was that?" Syn groaned sleepily from beside me.

"It was your mom, she said congratulations." Syn lifted himself from the bed and stretched. He gave me a quick kiss on the cheek and walked out of the room to the restroom. I relaxed into the bed and my phone rang once again.

On the screen, all I saw was 'Unknown Caller'. I answered it and held it up to my ear. "Hello?"

I frowned when no one spoke and after saying hello again and getting no response, I hung up. Almost immediately, they called again and I picked it up. "Who is this?"

I could only hear breathing on the other side of the phone now and it was creepy. Someone was probably messing with me. I hung up the phone once again and tossed it onto the bed as I stood up. I headed to the restroom but stopped walking when my phone rang from the bed.

I picked up my phone and answered it, but this time I walked into the restroom. Syn was brushing his teeth and glanced at me when I walked in. I passed my phone to him and he quickly spit out the toothpaste in his mouth.

"Hello?" He called. The breathing resumed once again and Syn furrowed his brows as he hung up the call and passed me my phone. "That's weird."

"That's the thi-"

I was interrupted mid-sentence when my phone rang again. I looked down at the screen to see the same unknown caller ID and I ran my hand through my hair in frustration. Syn took my phone from me and answered it quickly. "Stop fucking calling this phone!" He hung up the phone angrily and turned to me. "Block the number."

"I can't block a private number," I said.

My phone rang once again, and I declined the call. I set the phone down on the counter and just continued with my morning routine, and tried to forget about the eerie feeling in the pit of my stomach. The calls persisted for another six times before Syn grabbed my phone and turned it off.

"Problem solved," he whispered. I crossed my arms, giving him an annoyed look and he sighed before kissing my forehead. "I'm going to take care of it."
