-Chapter 107-

Queen took the news a lot harder than I would've thought. Syn told me she spent the next few days crying and I could only imagine how she was feeling. She had a plethora of information thrown at her these past couple of weeks and nobody had taught her how to handle it.

Which is where I've decided to step in. After a week of Queen's melancholy, I decided to offer my services. Granted I wanted to hone her skills to see how they may be of use to me in the future but a part of me wanted more. She was a direct product of my previous powers, I wanted to see how she used it.

After Lilith stripped me of them, it took me decades to get them back. And even still now they weren't completely back. Being able to teach and help Queen grow her powers would bring me a sense of closure.

I don't know how she felt about me considering I've killed both her mother and father in the past, but I hoped it wasn't that big of a deal. I mean they both killed me too, and Lilith left a lasting mark on my soul.

I'd consider us even if they weren't in debt to me.

After speaking with Syn, we both agreed that it may be beneficial for her to come to me. He of course threatened me several times about taking advantage of her abilities and I had no idea why...

Queen was supposed to be here within the next 20 minutes and a part of me was nervous. I wanted her to like me, if she and Syn stayed together she'd be a part of the family. That thought made me a bit uneasy to be quite honest.

I wanted nothing to do with Adam and she was his daughter. If she was as suffocating as he was I'd shoot myself with the gun voluntarily.

With a sigh, I leaned back into my chair and looked around the office. After spending centuries in here I was beginning to get tired. I loved Hell. After my father abandoned me it became a place that welcomed me. A place that I had created in my image. But after all these years, and being with Gen, I couldn't help but want more. Maybe that's why I wanted to take over Heaven.

I'd love to see the look on my father's face after I finally succeeded. That was my sole purpose for this mission. My plan after acquiring all the realms was to leave it to Syn and move on.

My eyes moved to the velvet box on my desk and I shook my head. Before Lilith came and flipped everything upside down, I was planning on proposing to Gen. But now she wouldn't even talk to me.

She was angry that I had apparently "lied" about the night of Syn's creation when I never truly lied to her about it. All I said was that an extreme amount of emotion was needed to make him and she assumed it was me falling in love with her. Was I truly supposed to hurt her and say it wasn't? She and I didn't even get together until Syn was 11 so I had no idea why she believed this was a love at first sight situation.

I jumped when Queen immediately popped up in front of me and she looked just as surprised as I was. She looked around and gave me a nervous smile. "Hey."

"So Syn dropped you off," I teased.

"Literally," she muttered.

I sat up and cleared my throat as I eyed her. "How are you feeling after what I told you last week?"

"I'm better," she said quietly.

I nodded. "Good."

I stood up from my chair and walked to the door. "Come. I'll give you a small tour."

She scurried next to me quickly and I opened the door. The chatter of all my workers in the building became silent as their eyes landed on Queen and me.

"Get back to work," I demanded as I walked past them. They quickly went back to their whispers and I heard Queen still following me. We quickly got into the elevator and I pressed the infamous red button to go down.

"We are we going?" She asked.

"To hell."

"I thought we were already in hell," she said.

"Nope. That was the underworld. I'll show you hell," I replied with a devilish smirk.

"Okay," she whispered in a frightened voice.

I turned to her and leaned on the opposite wall. "You have no reason to be afraid. This place is a large part of you. To be in touch with your powers from me, you need to at least become accustomed to your power source." She nodded enthusiastically. It was good to see that a part of her, even if it was small, was excited. Usually, nobody was excited about my home so it was refreshing. "You've lived in Heaven all of your life so I'm sure this will be very different to you. I hope you embrace it though."

"I will," she said.

I turned to face the elevator doors and sighed. "When these doors open, I want you to forget everything that you think you know about right and wrong. There are no good people down here, no matter how convincing they seem. Understand?"

"I understand," she said quickly.

We were going here for a tour but a part of me wanted to test her ability to differentiate between the truth and lies. This wasn't going to work if she was as naive as I believed her to be.

With a ding, the doors opened and a flame blew in our faces. I heard Queen gasp from behind me and I chuckled. "Relax, it can't hurt you."

She relaxed and nodded slightly.

"...It can't hurt you only if you don't let it," I added.

Her eyes widened at me and I smiled at her. "How do I not let it hurt me? It's fire," she said as she fanned herself. I could tell she was beginning to get lightheaded from the heat and it was expected. She was new here.

I shrugged and put my hands into my pockets. "Just stop feeling it. It's that simple. Once you start seeing that pain is only a figment of your imagination then nothing can hurt you."

She looked at me like I was crazy and shook her head. "I think pain is very real."

"The mind is the most powerful-"

"Oh lord," she said as she leaned against the wall faintly. A roar erupted from inside the pit and another flame aimed toward us. I let it hit me and felt nothing, but Queen screamed.

"You'd do well not to mention his name down here," I said with a chuckle. I looked at her for a long moment and sighed when she still was showing signs of feeling the fire. I wasn't a teacher, but I suppose I'd have to be more patient with her.

"Like I was saying Queen, our minds are the most powerful things in the world. Make yourself believe it's not going to hurt you, and it won't."

She nodded, looking up at me nervously, but I also saw something else in her eyes. Determination. With that, I reached my hand out to help her up. "You have a lot to learn Queen, but I'll teach you everything I know."

"Did they break up or not?!" I spat.

"I don't believe so ma'am. I heard that they were going to Earth from one of the guards at the palace," he said as he looked down at his feet.

I knew something was wrong when I felt no surge of energy, but I just believed that my calculations were off. Not that Lucifer played me. AGAIN.

I was fuming. If they faked the break-up that I saw, that meant Queen knew about what I said to Lucifer. No wonder she hadn't reached out to me.

"How dare he?!" I screamed aloud.

My men flinched at the tone of my voice and I took deep breaths to try to calm myself. This wasn't the plan. I wanted to bring back Adam for us all to be a family, but Queen probably hated me now.

I looked at the man...no THE BOY in front of me that failed his mission so wretchedly. I was pissed and he probably didn't deserve all my anger, but I wasn't in the mood to do the right thing. I stepped toward him and roughly grabbed his chin. "You should've done better."

"I'm sorry, I tried my best."

"Tried your best," I laughed aloud. "Your best isn't shit." I don't even know why I let Cole talk me into letting his stupid son help me with this. He'd been working for me for years, but he was as useless as ever. I shouldn't have even given him another chance.

"I-"

"Don't speak. We should let your father know about your failure. I'm sure then he wouldn't help you with your dumb business, would he?" I asked.

His eyes widened and he shook his head. "No, I need him to-"

"You should've thought about that before failing this! All you had to do was make her fall in love with you Sebastian, you said she had feelings for you and that you were perfect for the job."

"I am," he insisted. "She loves me, her mind is just clouded by-..."

"Sebastian, I've known your father for decades. I sent you to watch out for Queen years ago and you dared to fall in love with her and fail me. Now when I'm permitting you to be with her, you fail again?"

"I know. But I just need one more chance, I can do it," he begged.

I sighed and shook my head as I circled him. Maybe he could've done it, but right now I had other plans for him. I wasn't planning to work with Heaven after everything they did to me, but after Lucifer's recent betrayal, there was no way I was going to let the angels fail in their plans to kill Syn.

"I have other plans for you Sebastian, a plan that will make Queen run into your arms," I said.

"What is it? I'll do anything."

"Come with me," I said as I held my hand out. He took my hand and I snapped my fingers. I manifested us directly into the dining room of the palace where Julius, Felix, Xyla, and her father were waiting for me. They looked startled as I popped up, but nodded at me in greeting.

"What are we doing here?" Sebastian asked nervously.

"Don't be nervous. They know you've been working with me, but it's okay. They understand why." He nodded slowly and I turned back to the table. We all had a plan and if it went as smoothly as I hoped, then no one would know about our involvement in Syn's upcoming murder.

"Lilith, have you told him?" Jonathan asked in a mock sad tone.

Xyla sobbed into her hands as Felix held an arm around her in comfort. "It's okay, baby."

Everyone in the room seemed to be going along with the plan swimmingly except me. I took a deep breath, forcing the waterworks as I looked up at Sebastian.

He looked around then back at me. "What's going on?" He asked.

"I'm sorry," I said as I sobbed. "I've been so hard on everyone but I just-...no mother wants their child to go through..."

"Go through what?" He asked as concern seeped through his voice.

Xyla looked up at him with mascara running down her face and she cried out loud. "Syn is abusing Queen."

I watched as anger passed his features and his eyes widened. "What?! Are you serious?!"

"I wish we weren't," I said as I wiped away a tear.

Sebastian ran his hand through his hair and shook his head. "I knew something had to be going on! I can't fucking believe this!"

"Sadly, it's true," Xyla said. "She told me that he-..." Her words were cut short by another sob.

"That he what?!" Sebastian seethed.

"He made her do things...with him," Xyla whispered. I cringed at her creativity but kept my mouth shut. The plan was just to give Sebastian motive, it didn't matter how.

"Fuck!" he said in pure rage as he gripped his hair.

Good, that's what we need.

"We have a way to save her though," Jonathan spoke up. "Are you worthy enough for my daughter to be the one to do it?"

"I'll do anything," Sebastian said quickly, not bothering to shield his desperation. I tried to hold back a smile as our plan was going accordingly. Taking advantage of Sebastian was never originally the plan, but as he continuously showed me how useless he was...I needed him gone.

What better way was there than to take the fall for us?
