Chapter 19
I'm the one
I should love
Global University was a popular choice for the older Bangtan boys. Yoongi and RM are already working on their course outline. In addition to Jimin and Taehyung, the younger members are also enrolled in their first year. They are all pursuing degrees in media.
As of now, Jin is still enrolled in a mainstream university and will complete his final year in Film Studies. Hopefully, he'll be registering for his Master's Degree and Jungkook for his undergraduate degree by next year.
BangPd aims for all of them to be educated and well-rounded idols, chart-topping and award-winning artists as a group, and grow and maintain their personal goals outside of the group.
Taehyung "V" and Jimin are on their way to the mall with two of their managers to pick up the textbooks they have ordered individually. These two liked to be chaotic together when they were outside the dorm. Hopefully, they won't be mobbed by sasaengs or the ARMY.
The obsessed fans have already caused a few problems for them. Fans have been sending strange gifts to Taehyung and Jhope. Upon receiving malicious objects sent by jealous haters, Bighit banned all fans' gifts delivered to its agency.
Jin had put on a cap, and a hoodie over his t-shirt as Jhope came out from his room to get a soda for himself.
"Hey, Hyung...are you on your way to getting your baby boy?" Hobi teased. He loves the dynamic relationship between the oldest and the youngest maknae.
Jin smile wide," Yup, SOPA dismissed them earlier today because it's registration week. I knew the seniors had to go a week in advance for some orientation. I promised Kookie I'd get him some Panda Express. The Maknae-line begged me to bring them some.?"
Hobi clapped his hands in joy, "Oh goodness! That will be awesome, maybe we can get for Suga and Rapmon too. You know their favorite meals".
"Ok. Would you like to accompany me to fetch Kookie? I hope his fangirls will be at bay...even the paparazzi are there for the idols. Their bodyguards are already there at a special gate." Jin squints his nose.
"I'm glad management gave us a week off to sort out our academics." Hobi nodded, "Okay, I'm ready for a break."
He grabs his yellow hoodie jacket and follows Jin to the underground parking.
They reach Jungkooks'Highschool in a few minutes. The school bell was just about to ring when they arrived.
Hanbin, a young manager who began last week, also works with Hobeom. He is exceptionally calm and efficient. His credentials include Idol management and an Event Scheduling graduate degree. They were already waiting for Jungkook outside the gate.
When Jin saw the students moving in the crowd to reach the gates and get into their family's cars, he shook his head. Some average students are still waiting to catch a glimpse of their idols.
Jungkook walked beside Hanbin with a worried expression on his face, and Hobi laughed in amusement. With all the attention, he always felt a little apprehensive. Currently, he is one of the most popular idol students at school.
Jin grins as he watches Jungkook and the dark-haired girl sneak glances at each other. The little maknae had developed a little crush on the girl since they were always in each other's sight. He seems flustered, and his Hyungs can just snicker in the car. Fortunately, the windows are tinted.
The maknae is led to the passenger side by Hanbin. Jungkook was extremely flustered as people took countless pictures of him. As the girls tried to run towards him, the burly figure of Hobeom stopped them in their tracks. Excitedly, they were jumping up and down with their hands on their mouths. The idol acknowledges them. As Jungkook waves at them, and he smiles shyly...
Jungkook got into the car after a few greetings from the management.
"Hello, Hyungs! Oh, my gosh, what a day it has been!" he said, lying his head flat on the headrest.
"I see you were at a fan sign," Jhope laughs.
With a deadpan expression on his face, Jungkook said," If this is what this year would be like, I instead not graduate. Even the teachers are all over the place. A fistfight broke out among three girls who wanted to sit next to me, so the headmaster had to remove me from class and change my schedule. Having to take classes in an office suits me best, and I'm not good at making friends due to my idol schedule."
Seeing Maknaes' exasperated expression, Jin looked at him with concern, "After our successful "Red Bullet" tour, our popularity skyrocketed. Now we just need to buckle down and complete our studies, particularly Kookie and I."
Jhope nods in agreement: "I'm glad I decided to study online.".
"I have been enrolled since pre-debut, and this semester I will complete my final year of studies. I will register for my graduate studies online now. We are getting too busy with idol life now." Jin grimaced a little.
After taking off his coat and loosening his tie, Jungkook said, "Being an idol and being average is challenging...all the attention is exhausting."
"I know it's hard to make friends, particularly as an idol. You have to deal with saseangs and jealous boys at school. Just be yourself." Jhope smiles and looks at him. "Enjoy your school life."
Jin grins and loves loudly," You're so cute, just be yourself. I get it. Kooks need to perform at an award show and then write a math test the following day. The young teachers are going soft for that sexy policeman in Dope. They dream of you handcuffing them!!!" he teased a flustered Jungkook whose face twisted into a scowl.
"Hyung...ugh...now I had a most unflattering image of Chubby Ms. Choi being handcuffed by me. Ugh!!!"
As Hyung and maknae teased and bantered each other, Hobi burst out in laughter.
" Let's get some food". His excitement over eating the spicey barbecue wings is contagious." I'd like to do my assignments, and RM can help me with my English poetry, and Yoongi'-Hyung can help me with history. Then I want to play games all night without any disturbance. Next week, we will start Sungdeuk's killer training again."
As they approached the drive-thru, they listened to Jhope's playlist and sang along. It was pretty amusing when the window attendant almost got a heart attack when three members of her favorite group ordered takeout. Jungkook just rolled his eyes at Hyungs, who openly flirted with the already red-faced girl. It made her so nervous...when her supervisor stood next to her...the latter screamed in shock. Fangirling and waving madly. Fortunately, they were served before the customers outside took notice of them.
Their fans' antics made the boys laugh.
Their apartment block is soon in sight. The apartment was beautifully designed and very upmarket. This apartment is home to many elite artists: Hannam, the Hill.
Their new spacious home is perfect for them. As the eldest Hyung, Jin-Hyung has an ensuite bedroom. Due to his linguistic abilities and assertive demeanor, RM is their leader.
The rest of the Maknaes were fighting over the remote at home while Yoongi scolded them about being brats.
When Jimin and Tae saw the panda express, they completely forgot about the fight and ran to the group. Taehyung rushed to Kookie first and hugged him tightly, running his fingers through Maknae's hair. Despite scrunching up his nose, Jungkook let him continue. He is fond of Tae, as they are the youngest members.
"I just need to prepare for tomorrow. The earlier I submit the most difficult assignments, the better for my mental health." Jin smiled, "Seeing that you are so enthusiastic, please set the table for us, and dish up a plate for me! and Maknaes will clean up."
"Oh, fine," Jimin said, chuckling. "I should first taste it to make sure it isn't poisoned."
Taehuyng chuckles, "Oh really, you're always eating more portions before we even start eating."
Jimin grinned and opened up the various containers while Taehyung and Jhope set the table. Jungkook ran out of the room quickly to change into his favorite sweatshirt and hoodie.
As Jin headed to his room, he decided to remove his clothes to take a quick shower.
He shivered when he opened up the hot faucet. Jin furrows his brow in confusion.
After turning on the hot water, he felt cold shivers creep up from his toes to his fingers, and a sudden soul-mark attack left him screaming out in pain. His fingers felt like they were covered in molten lava as the frostbite sensation turned into fire. Despite his efforts to rub it, he had tears in his eyes from the excruciating pain.
As the hot water sprayed over his bend-over position, tears were mixed with the hot water. Within five minutes, it subsided. After his shower, Jin grabbed his towel, dried himself off, and ran to his bedroom, panting in shock.
He has never encountered a severe attack like that. The two fingers on his hand caught his attention. His soul mark was under the invirso bind. The area appears very red and swollen.
Jin shook his head in confusion. What caused his soul-mark attack to be so severe? Is his soulmate close by? Oh, my! The question is whether she will meet his expectations. If she's not up to the standard of the ideal type, what would happen? What if she is not of Korean descent or Asian race? Will FATE put him under so much stress? What if she is not of the right "breed"? Like his Appa always said, "made from the right pedigree". Will his family accept her? They love Noodle -Joo so much already.
They will attend another business dinner with their parents in Itaewon.
He looked at his fingers dejectedly, wondering how he could let Noodle-Joo and his parents down. He felt strange feeling deep inside. Though he cannot describe how he feels, he feels like his Soulmate is next to him, making him feel peaceful and filled with contentment. Wow! The beat of his heart was like a drum.
As his heartbeat accelerated, he closed his eyes tightly, trying to calm it.
The fear of the inevitable...

Samiya pov
A street buzzed with activity as Navya drove her Hyundai for almost an hour. Little shops are opening their doors, and the early workforce is filling the streets. There is a dense smell in the air. It's dusty there, and Navya told you that bringing masks would help them adjust.
Upon speaking with her, she explains that you will live near a river in a duplex apartment building.
Navya grins happily, "It is rare to find an apartment with a private garden. There should be a way to have a beebeekyoo (BBQ) in your courtyard. Nearby, you'll find fruit and veggie marts and convenient stores for small grocery shopping."
"I can't wait to try out using our Korean currency," Alia exclaimed excitedly. "Can we go exploring today?" she asked.
Navya smiled," Why not? I'll let you meet your neighbor, she has a lovely heart, but she's nosey, so don't share too much with her. She is also a very passionate fan of BTS.
"Another ARMY obsessed! "you snort.
After a few turns, they came to a halt in front of a white, modern duplex. There was an immediate sense of belonging. Throughout your body, you feel a sense of belonging, one that's so profound you can't comprehend it. It's like coming home from New Delhi. Weird.
"Ta-da! We have arrived in Chungju, and I hope you feel comfortable in your new surroundings." Navya exclaimed. Upon turning into the security gate, the guard greeted her, and she scanned her resident card before driving in. The excitement of living with her best friend led Alia to clap her hands in exuberance. Both of you lived under the watchful eye of your parents.
Your "main prize" for winning the national title of Miss India was to live in a furnished apartment, which was a requirement for you. You could easily access all your responsibilities as Miss India since it was located in the City.
Your schedule was hectic. Interviews, television appearances, commercials, charity drives, visiting orphanages and nursing homes, and speaking at business entrepreneurship conferences, youth clubs, schools, and hospitals. It has been a lifelong dream of yours to return to university and complete your fashion design degree.
Navya parked the car next to a white Hyundai Getz in your designated parking space. As Navya opened the boot to get your bags, she pushed the trolley up the passageway to your side of the complex.
With a broad smile on your face, you looked around. Alias' face radiated joy and peace from within. Your wish is that she doesn't have to go back and marry Ranveer.
This is a beautiful two-bedroom, two-bathroom duplex.
Suddenly, you notice a figure at the window of your neighbor's apartment. The curtain was quickly closed again when she was caught "spying". Navya looks amused at your widened eyes.
"It's my Chinese neighbor, Sona Chang. She's always been curious about the two of you. She's a nice girl, but ... she's a weirdo!" Navya grinned.
With the security code, Navya unlocked the door and entered first. You were surprised by the colorful Indian accents. You will be blown away by the decor. It was like a home away from home. It looked as if there was a burst of sunshine in the kitchen, as though the rest of the living space was a palette of colors thrown around by wet paintbrushes.
There is plenty of storage space in the cupboards. Already picturing all the spices in their containers, your cooking utensils, you want to be the first to cook for you.
As a gesture of welcoming you, Naviya made copies of everything she had for you.
There are Korean names pasted on the stoves and cupboards to help you with the language. She is from Bombay and speaks Tamil and Hindi. You and Alia are fluent in Hindi, Tamil, and Marathi.
As she entered further into the apartment, Alias' eyes became wider as she viewed its splendor. Navya will leave you a furnished apartment that was cozy and homely decorated. As Alia sat with Navya to sort out all the rental agreements and amenities of the estate, you went to your bedroom.
Your room was bursting with reds and oranges and a homey—white crispy bedspread with orange pillows and an orange print blanket. You grew wide-eyed when you saw a cute rocking chair that reminded you of your late (daadee)grandma. When you think of home, your eyes almost tear up.
Your room has plants that Navya left behind. You choose the downstairs bedroom with the tiny bathroom. Alia chose a bedroom on the top floor with a long rectangular window facing the street and a balcony. However, her room does not have a bathroom. It's across her room from a smaller study that will become the office.
Looking out the window, you are greeted by a big white wall with beautiful trees and flowers. You open up the windows to breathe in the fresh smell of cerise pink blossoms.
It is a pity that you are without a door to the garden in the evening. However, you can smell and experience nature. It will smell fantastic in the evenings. Pure happiness makes you laugh out loud.
As you sank into the comfort of your soft mattress, a deep breath of satisfaction filled your lungs—no worries at all about the slight stinging sensation on your two middle fingers.
There is no need to worry about soulmates. It will just take a little longer for you to meet your soulmate in India. In Vidhan's case, he has plenty of time to wait until he's a skeleton, but you came to Korea to see the beautiful idols and admire their culture, history.
Standing up, you went outside to see Alia's bedroom. The room was light and airy with soft blue printed bedding, wooden dressers and headboard, and a light carpet.
Alia and Navya were checking the contracts in the dining room. The tv-lounge is very stylish and beautifully decorated. There are white couches and flatscreen television. When you turned on the television, you were pleasantly surprised to see satellite channels. There are almost 140 channels available. At least you and Alia will be up to date on the latest news in India.
All documents have been finalized. You gave Navya the box of chocolates you got from the plane. You and Alia will share hers since she doesn't like certain chocolates.
"Now that we're done, it's almost 10 am. Can I please leave you to settle in? And I'll come to pick you up for a Korean BBQ lunch, and then we'll check out the E-mart mall. Please do not overeat now." Navya suggest.
Your doorbell rang before she left. You frown and wonder who it could be.
"It's your neighbor Sona, whose curiosity is contagious." said Navya.
While entering your apartment, you snicker as you remember the girl who watched you from a window.
As you move with Navya near the front door to meet the new neighbor, you hear her say, "Sona."
"Hi Sona, meet my new friends from New Delhi...Samiya and Alia", she pointed out to you. Both of you bowed respectfully and smiled widely at Sona. A little short, almost 1, 6, chubby, and covered in freckles, she was a little flustered. It looked like she was Chinese.
"Hello, welcome to South Korea. We hope you enjoy your stay here in Chungju. I will be available two doors from your place if you need help. Ok." She smiles as she converses in English.
Alia nods, and you thank her for the kind gesture. The more friends you have, the easier it will be for you to get around the city, practice the language and learn the culture.
After their meeting, Navya and Sona exchanged greetings and went their separate ways. Later tonight, Sona has invited you for drinks. Your gracious thanks for her hospitality are much appreciated.
You and Alia were jumping up and down in your new apartment. The fact that you are actually in Korea is surreal.
Alia declared, "Oh my goodness!!! We are really in South Korea. Vidhan and Ranveer are gone from us. Now you just have to meet your soulmate, and you're all set." Alia grinned elated and fell on the white sofas
"Well, that remains to be seen. I hope he's waiting for me in India; I don't want to get married in two years." You sat next to her with a scowling expression on your face.
"Don't worry, he'll be in India or South Korea," she waggles her eyebrows. Realizing this, your eyes widen.
"Oh, great, I hope he's Indian. My parents will not let me marry someone of a different nationality if he is not red-gold or part of the billionaire legacy club .The thought of being Vidhans' wife will make me feel like a servant like in my great-grandmother's day. Serving the man all the time! No way!!" Your eyes became moist just at the thought of being Vidhan's wife.
"We will both be happy here. Tomorrow is registration and orientation day at our new university. It's a pity Navya graduated. Let's unpack and pack out our spices. Tomorrow I'll cook breakfast for us, and you can cook dinner. We can have lunch at the university." Alia suggests. Your rooms were buzzing with activity as you each raced to finish packing.
Navya's car entered your parking lot precisely at noon. You quickly refreshed your make-up, grabbed your wallets and bags, and met her outside. Navya is dressed in cute ankle-length skinny jeans and a flowy top. With her cute sunglasses, her hair is fastened into a high ponytail. She smiles at you through her window, and this time you beat Alia for "shotgun" she had to lock the door, and you breathe a sigh of relief.
Alia groaned since she hated riding in the backseat. As you sing some home songs in the car, there was a joyful atmosphere. Navya still remembers some of the songs, which impressed you. She is married to her Korean soulmate, and she is living in Korea for almost seven years. She got married last year, and she and her husband bought an apartment in Seoul near his job as an engineer.
Your eyes look out with interest as you make your way to the market. It is a reasonably big mall. The three of you were eager to explore once you got a parking spot.
You watch in astonishment as Alia tries to read all the signs and products. At least you can recognize some words. Having a basic understanding of Hangul is a start. Your shopping list included fresh bread and milk, as well as sweet treats. Alia bought shower gels and soaps.
Navya took you to a cute restaurant for some BBQ. Having eaten all the exciting dishes, you were stuffed to capacity. You took a lot of selcas to show to your friends who would continue their studies in India. There are many exciting text messages about kpop idols and actors you must meet and send selcas to.
Almost all of them wouldn't be familiar to you even if they were BTS members.
Due to the large meal, you had last night, you decided not to cook tonight. You will just bring a cake to Sona to hang out. You hope she will be a great friend here in Seoul. Fortunately, she doesn't seem to know you as a celebrity, and hopefully, your face won't be recognized by the Indian community here in Seoul.
You head back home after an eventful first day. You were both hugged by Navya, who told you to meet every month to grow your friendship. It was agreed. She immensely helped you. Despite the stiffness in your fingers after lunch, you failed to tell Alia that you were feeling it again.
You and Alia decided to start with your familiar Asian custom by taking off your shoes at the doorway of your apartment. The little shelf by the door holds your favorite slippers.
You took the cake to Sona's apartment after unpacking your groceries. She met you with delight, and you entered her apartment.
"Welcome!!!! Please sit down and make yourself at home... We are friends now." You raised your eyebrows and just acknowledged the friendship while you and Alia looked at each other with interest.
The place she lives in is cute and well-kept, but what caught Alia's eye was the tv lounge. At the furthest corner was a purple-colored wall. Following her astonished gaze, you dropped your jaw.
The wall is only dedicated to her ultimate bias, Jhope, the sunshine from BTS...
