The next day, Aurora sat beside Kenny at the lunch table. Aurora took a sip of her Yahoo, which her dad had bought her as an apology present for not taking her to school yesterday. He also had bought her a few comic books.

The Lawrence girl hadn't been too hungry due to her snacking during class, but she decided to eat a few of her strawberries that she had packed in her lunchbox. "So, whatcha doing after school?" She asked her friend.

Kenny shrugged his shoulder, "Nothing much."

Aurora rolled her eyes at the boy knowing how anxious he had been throughout the day. Seeing how much he wanted school to be over. "Come on, just tell me." She whined.

She crossed her legs in her seat, allowing her to sit up. She placed her head on to one of her palms, "Please." She begged as she batted her eyelashes.

Kenny shook his head letting out a small laugh, "Okay, okay, fine." Kenny started which made Aurora smile as she took a sip of her Yahoo, "I'm hanging out with Lia tonight, in the park." Kenny smile brightly with his words.

Aurora immediately began chocking on her drink. The Lawrence girl let out a few coughs as she patted the front of her chest. She looked over at the boy in confusion, "Really?"

"You don't have to act so surprised." Kenny told the girl.

The blonde sent a playful glare towards the boy, "It just caught me off guard." She assured the Payne, "What are you two doing?"

"Uhh... we're cosplaying as characters." Kenny shyly admitted to Aurora. Truth was, he didn't know how she would react to the statement. Some people judged him for cosplaying, while others thought he was cool. Kenny really hoped Aurora thought it was cool.

"That's cool." Aurora told the boy with a smile as she took another bite of a strawberry. Now this surprised the girl, it just didn't really seem like Lia's thing. You know, cosplaying. But, who knows, maybe Lia did enjoy the activity. But all Aurora knew was that something did seem off about the whole thing. "Do you what me to come with you, just in case?"

Kenny shook his head, "Nah, it's fine."

Aurora nodded her head slowly at his words, "You just want some alone time with your future girlfriend." She teased him as she began to poke his arm with a bright smile on her lips.

The Payne boy quickly hit her hands away, "Oh, shut up, and stop being so loud. I don't want the whole school to hear.

"I'm not that loud." Aurora told the boy, but Kenny only gave her a tight smile. Aurora let out an offended gasp before she playful slapped Kenny's arm, "Hey."

"It's true." Kenny said with a smirk causing Aurora to glare at the boy. "If I knew more karate I would totally beat your ass right now." The Lawrence joked, knowing damn well that she wouldn't hurt anyone unless it was absolutely necessary.

Kenny's eyes widened at her statement, "You know karate?"

Aurora shrugged her shoulders, "A little bit." She replied before she continued on explaining, "My dad was really into karate when he was in high school, so when I was younger he taught me a few moves so I could learn how to defend myself. I didn't really like learning though because I don't really like hurting people."

Kenny nodded his head at her words, "I heard there was a huge karate fight here, is that true?" The boy questioned as Aurora let out a small sigh. The karate fight at West Valley High may have been one of the worst days of her live, even if she wasn't in it.

It was a long hard day for her. She woke up to yelling in the living room, only for her to get up out of bed and out of her room to see Mr. LaRusso yelling at her father. Her confusion grew when she saw her brother and Anthony's sister, Sam. Once she decided it was too early to deal with it, she turned around, went back in her room, and went back to bed.

A while later her father had taken her and Robby to school. He dropped Robby off first before dropping off Aurora. Johnny had placed a small kiss onto the girls forehead before she got out of his car. She remembered going to her first few classes and her and Anthony being called to the principals office.

The two teens immediately had glanced at each other not knowing what had happened. The two had walked side by side to the principals office in silence, not knowing what to say. When they had got there, Aurora furrowed her eyes in confusion as she saw Mia standing there. As she walked closer to the girl, she saw that she had been crying.

Fear washed over the girl, causing her to hyperventilate. Anthony noticed this quickly and intertwined their fingers. He carefully squeezed on Aurora's hand, helping her to know that she was okay. Anthony had sent her a soft smile, he always knew how to calm the girl down.

She remembered how Mia entered the room slowly with a distraught look on her face. She couldn't even make eye contact with Aurora. "Miguel and Sam are in the hospital." Once's those words had left Mia's lips Auroras thoughts began to spiral. How did this happen? Who did this? Why? Why did this happen? Aurora hadn't even realized she was crying until she felt Mia wipe away her tears. Aurora quickly engulfed Mia into a hug, crying into her shoulder. She was so scared, she didn't even know how bad Miguel was hurt, but she couldn't lose him. He was like a big brother to her. He listened to her ramble about random stuff and he brought back her dad, the real version of Johnny Lawrence.

"Are they going to be okay?" Aurora lifted her head up at Anthony's words. She looked over at the boy with glossy eyes.

Mia had paused, not knowing what to say. She didn't know how bad the two were hurt and didn't want to scare the two. "I hope so." Aurora slowly nodded her head at Mia's words, "I'm gonna take you two to the hospital right now though. I've already spoken to your mother, Anthony, and she said that's it's fine."

The three quickly made their way to the hospital. Aurora tapped her foot against the elevator floor as she watched the digital numbers changed. Once she heard the elevator big, the doors opened and she saw her father, Carmen, and Rosa. "Daddy." She mumbled quietly as the three adults turned towards the girl. Aurora quickly rushed to her father, immediately grabbing onto him, pulling him into a hug. Johnny quickly hugged her daughter back, rubbing a soothing hand on her back. Tears came rushing down the girls face as she gripped onto her father. Johnny placed a kiss onto the top of her head as he held the girl. Mia had decided to take Anthony to see his family, leaving the four alone.

Aurora slowly pulled away from her father. Pushing away the tears as she sniffled, "Is he going to be okay?" She asked slowly, her voice breaking with each word.

Johnny looked down at his daughter slowly, "We don't know yet, Rory." He told the girl. Aurora slowly nodded her head before she went back to hugging her father.

The next few weeks were some of the hardest for the young Lawrence m. Her father was very absent and drunk. As much as he wanted to be there for Aurora, he just couldn't. Aurora ended up spending most of her time at Mia's house. She slept often slept on Mia's couch, finding her house the most comforting. She would also help out over at the Diaz house. Even though Carmen couldn't bring herself to look at Johnny, she knew how much love the young girl had for her son. Carmen had always thought of Aurora like she was her own child.

As much as she was hurting though she shoved all of the sadness and hurt down deep. She knew that it was more important to be there for Carmen, Rosa, and her father than it was to help herself cope. So she decided to fake her sadness and put on a smile.

Each day slowly got easier for Aurora until she found out who had pushed Miguel off the railing. It was her own brother. At first she didn't want to believe it but she slowly began to. She knew that he wouldn't have done it on purpose, right? But what did she know, no one dared to bring up the school fight.

"Rory?" Aurora looked back over at Kenny, "You okay? You kinda zoned out?"

Aurora only hummed in response, "Yeah, I'm okay. I just have a lot of bad memories from that day." She admitted to the boy, knowing how much damage that one fight caused in her life. "Let's just say, uh... a lot of the people I care about go hurt really badly."

Kenny's eyes softened at the girls words, "I'm sorry." The boy quickly apologized, "I didn't mean to bring up anything. We don't have to talk about it."

"It's okay, Kenny." She told the boy, offering him a small smile. Kenny slowly smiled back at the girl. After a few minutes of awkward silence, that both teens found very weird, Aurora spoke up, "So, are you excited for your date with Lia." Kenny let out an annoyed groan causing the girl to let out a small giggle.

From across the room, Anthony's grip tightened on his fork as he watched the two. He wanted to be the one to make her laugh like that. He slowly stopped thinking about Aurora as he listened back into what Zack was talking about, pranking Kenny.
