Aurora Lawrence had always been alone, and she hated it. She felt a wave of envy as she watched families spend time together, friends laughing, or people hanging out. She was jealous as she watched mothers go shopping with their daughter or fathers dance with their little girls. She hated the feeling even though it's all she had ever known.

As a kid her mother, Sharon Keene, didn't want her, she never wanted a baby girl. So she decided to leave Aurora with her drunken father, Johnny Lawerence. Growing up, she hated her mother for leaving her with her father. She hated the way she just left, but kept her brother, Robby. She didn't know the boy well, but he was always there when she needed him.

Growing up with her father was hard, especially for a young girl. She would grimace her father's drunken state and plug her nose at the smell. She loathed the way he would do this to himself, not thinking about the consequences. She tried her best to take care of him but she was only a kid.

Aurora detested the small apartment that she grew up in. The only good thing about the apartment complex was Mia Carson. Mia Carson was someone that if you asked Aurora to explain she would go on for hours and hours about. She was beautiful. She had long blonde hair with piercing green eyes. She had a smile that would lighten up a room and a bubbly personality that Aurora desired to have.

Mia Carson was around the age of twenty-five when she first met six year old Aurora, after she had moved into her apartment that was a few apartments away from the Lawrence's. Mia was surprised at the presence of the young girl, wondering where her parents were. Aurora shrugged her shoulders before explaining her situation, or at least what she knew. Mia heart sunk as Aurora described her home life.

And ever since then Mia treated Aurora like she was her own child. She would get her ice cream and buy her clothes, books, and toys. Aurora's interest and style soon mirrored Mia's as time went on. From her love to 90's and 2000's movies and shows to her always wearing a cute comfortable outfit.

Aurora still had interest of her own, of course. Like watching superhero movies and reading. But as much as Aurora wanted to be as joyful and extroverted as Mia, she was introverted but sweet, even with her father's attitude. Mia believed she was a mixture of the three Gilmore Girls, whereas Aurora believed she was the reincarnation of Gwen Stacy, with the blonde hair, smarts, kindness, determination, and how she would always stand  up for others.

Even with all of those qualities that made her the amazing girl she was, she had trouble making friends. And as much as the young Lawrence tried, no one ever wanted to be friends with her. Mia assured her that it wasn't her fault, but Aurora didn't believe her. She hated herself because of it, she wish she could have had a normal life with people lining up to talk to her. She hated her self so much because of this. Because of this feeling of loneliness.

She wanted to be seen and heard. She wanted to have friends who would watch movie with her and that would want to read books together, she wanted a friend. But on top of that she wanted a real family. She wanted her father to be proud of her and to be present in her life. She wanted to see her brother everyday. But most importantly, she never wanted Mia to leave. Aurora also wondered that if she made friends, would they leave like her mother did years ago.

At school, she always tried her best to wear a smile on her face until she couldn't bear the weight  anymore. She remembered the stares as she walked down the halls with a frown on her face. The way her radiant positivity was washed away. How she rested her head in the palm of her hands. The only other thing she remembered about that day, was how Anthony LaRusso made her smile. She felt her armor fall when he did that and that was something she never expected from him.

As years went by she grew to enjoy the sense of peace that followed her. There wasn't any distractions in her life. There were many quiet moments, but some of those moments were filled with joyful memories.

That quietness soon came to an end as a boy and his family move into the apartment complex. Aurora soon noticed how the boy she soon knew as Miguel had become close to her father, almost like he was his son. She felt her heartache as she watched the two together, whether it was training for karate or just hanging out. Even though she never understood the lore behind the sport she still would have at least liked him to asked her about it before doing it with Miguel. She felt like a ghost, she felt invisible watching her father and Miguel.

Little did she know that Anthony LaRusso was feeling the same way watching his father with Robby Keene. Even though Anthony wasn't too close with his father he felt replaced by the brown haired boy. He felt like he was being pushed out of his family. After all, he was never noticed by his parents. No matter what they did they always favored Sam. So when he became popular, he jumped at the chance to fit in and be needed.

But even through his popularity was rising, his gaze still always fell on the Lawrence girl. Something about her had always intrigued him, he didn't know if it was her kindness, her smarts, or her beauty. He only knew that he would hate it when he would see her frown. He knew that her home life wasn't the best, especially after hearing stories about her father from his dad. But he was determined to make her smile no matter what, she was his achilles heal, even if Aurora sometimes found him annoying.
