20 - Fight
A/N: Btw, it will take a little longer for Teresa to get all her memories back!

"Jane!" Rye rushed over to me the second after I came out of the tent. Once he saw me, his excited face relaxed, but his eyes kept twinkling. "They gave us clothes." He handed me a pile of them, and accidentally, taken aback by the sudden jump, I dropped some of them.
"Oh, sorry." Rye turned red in embarrassment and picked some of them up. "I'll help."
"Thanks." I laughed and together, we walked over to the assigned hut. Rye opened the door and got in, me following.
"Well, this is it." Rye motioned at the big tent with four air mattresses on the ground, one of them a few feet away from the others.
"I lay yours away from the others." He paused. Not because they don't want to lie next to you!" He quickly added. "But I thought you would be more comfortable like that, you know, but if you-."
"It's okay, Rye," I said quickly, taking some of the clothes out of his hands and putting them down on a chair. "What did they give me?" I muttered more to myself than Rye.
"I don't know." He responded. "I didn't look through them."
"Why not?" I smiled, knowing Newt and Minho would look through it right away.
"I'm not just gonna look through your stuff," Rye admitted. "Or literally any girl's stuff. I did it with Cyra's stuff once, but will never do it again."
I laughed as my eyes met Rye's, who stared at me attentively. Soon I stopped making noise and my face relaxed a bit, but a small smile stayed.
Rye stepped closed, and before I knew it or even got the chance to do something else, our lips collided. My eyes widened at the touch, not only because I hated touch, but also by the sudden and how fast things escalated. Though soon, I went in with the kiss and fully concentrated on Rye's soft lips pressing against mine.
Slowly my back hit the wall and Rye cupped my face, yet at some point, I stopped kissing. A part of me enjoyed it, but the other part knew I didn't like Rye in that way.
"I'm sorry." It came out as barely a whisper when Rye also let go of me, but then I talked normally again, though the nervousness was hearable.
"I'm not sure if I want this, Rye."
He averted his eyes in embarrassment. "I know. It was stupid."
"No, it's just-." I cut myself off, not knowing what to say. "I just don't have feelings for you in that way."
Rye just nodded.
"Do you have feelings for me?"
Rye looked down. "I was starting to get some, but I know I can stop them." He paused and chuckled lightly, nervous, though. "I'm glad not in the total obsession phase.. so I guess I can control it."
Embarrassed I stood there. "Good."
Rye moved up and down on his feet. "Yeah."
"I'm sorry, Rye." I apologized again.
Then Rye shook his head. "No. It's okay, Jane." He turned concerned. "Did I make you uncomfortable? Did you think I was-."
"No." I interrupted. "It really is okay."
His face relaxed in relief. "Nice." He walked closer to me again. "Did I ruin our friendship?"
"No," I replied again. "You didn't. We can stay the same, try not to fall in love with each other, and go on." I joked, but also spoke the truth.
Rye laughed quietly. "I like that idea. And I'm glad we talked it out now already and that you let me know, all right?"
I nodded. "Mhm."
"Well, then imma go." He smiled at me and walked off, leaving me a bit shocked.

"Jane!" Frypan motioned for me to join them around a fire, which I gladly did, so sat down next to Cyra. Neither Rye, Newt, Thomas, or Minho were anywhere to be seen yet, but I guessed they would appear soon.
"Like the tent, mi hija?" Jorge looked at me softly.
"Yeah, it was great." I gave him a smile in appreciation and took the food Frypan handed me.
"Guys!" Thomas rushed over to us and to my surprise, he was panting. Wasn't a Runner supposed to be fit? "Two idiots are fighting!"
I shrugged and wondered why I would care about that. Fights were never something I enjoyed watching. "Okay?"
Thomas focused on me. "Your idiots. Minho and-."
"Newt?" I almost screamed.
"No! Rye!" Thomas corrected.
"Neither of them are my idiots. But they indeed are idiots." I said sternly, but the look on Thomas' face said things weren't good, so the anxiety formed in me.
"Hurry. It's a little worse than the time you fought Minho." Thomas sighed and rushed away again, which I followed by quickly. Why would they even be fighting?
And then I heard it, the grunts and the sound of punches being thrown out. Before I could even see it, I recognized how angry Minho was by the way he yelled.
"You piece of shuck pervert! Touching Jane?"
"I didn't-," Rye grunted instead of finishing his sentence. Apparently, Minho saw what happened between Rye and I. Great.
"Minho!" I almost gasped when I saw the boy jump on top of Rye.
"I barely talked to her these days because you just claim her, while I just met her again!" Minho grabbed Rye's shirt, lifted him up, and smacked his back against the ground again.
With wide eyes, I watched Rye fight back by punching Minho in the face, whose face flushed with anger. He didn't certainly not like it when someone made him embarrassed.
Then I came back to reality and got closer to the duo. "Stop, guys." I tried to contain my breaths, but the sounds of them fighting panicked me. I knew neither of them would stop if no one else helped.
They didn't listen and kept rolling, getting on top of each other, punching and kicking. At some point, Rye's nose started bleeding and Minho's cheek got red, so I stepped forward and tried to push them aside, but it didn't work.
"Watch out, you're gonna hurt Jane, you-." Rye didn't get to finish, because Minho already attacked again.
"Talk for yourself!" He grunted in anger.
"Maybe we should stop them." Cyra appeared next to me and sighed, but didn't seem bothered. "Or watch."
My hands were shaking a bit and my heart skipping beats, but I moved toward the boys and tried to stop them once again. Minho didn't notice me, got ready to hit Rye who was under him, but accidentally hit me with his elbow. It didn't hurt much, but Minho had enough force to push me onto the ground.
He froze in his place, almost seeming scared to look next to him. The anger didn't leave his face when he roughly got off Rye, but when he grabbed my arm and pulled me with him, his gaze got filled with worry while we got in my tent.
