05‣ Dangerous Game

Yoongi's POV

I got up off the man who I had just knocked out and rushed to Y/n.

"Are you alright?" I asked her, studying her terrified looking face.

"I'm--" she said but stopped when her stomach growled. She gave an apologetic embarrassed smile. "...hungry," she said.

"Are you serious?" I said. This girl was unbelievable. "You just got attacked and was almost killed. You're leg is injured," I said, gesturing to her leg. "And all you have to say is you're hungry?"

"I know... I just didn't eat since lunch at school," she said. There was a short silence. "Thanks for saving me," she said, looking down.

"Come on. We'll go to my house. You can't go home like this. We'll treat your leg and you can eat there," I said, already leading the way. She quietly followed.

On the way, I asked her what happened and she explained everything.

"You're an idiot," I told her. "Who leaves the door open after doing something so serious? And I told you stay out of it."

"Yeah, I know..." She said.

I stopped her and looked at her seriously. "No, you don't. This is not some kind of game where when you die, you'll get a second chance. You could've died, Y/n," I said. "Even if it were a game, all we are is two amateur players playing against pros in their game of death."

She looked like she'd taken a blow from me but quickly recovered when she looked back at me with confidence and said, "Well then I guess we better make sure we win."

After a while we finally reached my house and my brother wouldn't stop asking questions. I just told them we were hanging out and she slipped over a bottle. Luckily my injuries weren't too noticeable just yet.

I left my brothers to treat her while I went to the kitchen to make her a sandwich.

"They're not here. Now tell me the real story," I heard a voice say from behind. It was Namjoon.

"I already did. She tripped over a bottle," I said shortly and went to find the ingredients for the sandwich.

"But that's not all there is to it. She's an innocent girl, Yoongi. Don't get her caught up in your crap," he said.

He was always like this. Acting as if he was the oldest brother. He even went to work before any of us and quit school to provide for us. People say that after the death of someone precious to you, you start to become closer with the people who experience the same pain as you. That never happened with me and Namjoon. It's because he still believes that I was the one who killed our father.

"Have you again forgotten who is the oldest here? Stop butting into my life. What I do has nothing to do with you," I said.

"It has everything to do with me! Our brothers too. Everything about you effects us. Why we live in this house, the food we eat, the reason why that girl is injured," he said, pointing to the room where Y/n and Taehyung and Hoseok were.

Taehyung stood outside the door and saw what was going on. "Hyung, stop," Taehyung said, trying to stop Namjoon. "Stop blaming Yoongi. You know none of it is his fault," he said, putting his hand on Namjoon's shoulder.

Taehyung was always defending me like this. Jhope too. They were like the glue to this family. Jhope, V and Jimin were the only people who believed me when I said I didn't kill my father. But I at least think V and Jhope really do believe me. Jimin definitely did. We've been friends for as long as I could remember, plus he secretly saw what had happened. He just doesn't like thinking about it so he keeps quiet about it.

Namjoon jerked his shoulder out of Taehyung's hand. "Whatever," he said and went to his room, closing the door.

"I don't blame you, hyung," Taehyung said while smiling at me. "I'll go talk with Namjoon again. Could you get Y/n some pain medicine?" Without waiting for an answer, he said "thanks" and left to enter Namjoon's room.

I sighed. "Sure."

I realized Y/n only ate that nice kind of food at her house so I decided to make her sandwich fancy. I put in lettuce, cheese, bolony and a few cucumber slices. I had no idea we had these ingredients until now. I stuck a toothpick on the top of the sandwich once I was done because I always saw it in movies and always thought it looked kinda fancy. Except I didn't have the sticker to put around it.

I put it on a plate and took the pain medicine and headed to Taehyung's room where Y/n was.

"You're really quiet," I heard Hoseok say from the doorway. I looked and saw he was sitting on the bed next to her, bandaging up her leg. "You can talk, you know. I won't bite." She nodded but still said nothing. It was quiet for a while. "You think Taehyung is weird, don't you?"

She nodded. "He keeps calling me sister-in-law," she said quietly.

Hoseok laughed loudly. "If he says it again, just tell me. I'll hit him for you," Hoseok said while making hitting noises. "Same goes with Yoongi. If he hurts you, you tell me and I'll knock him out for you," he said, making more hitting noises and sounds.

She burst out laughing. I was kind of happy to see her laughing. "I think he's way too strong for you to be able to knock him out..." She said while looking away shyly.

"Whaat? You underestimate me?" Hoseok said jokingly.

They both laughed. At one point she stopped and winced in pain.

I rushed in. "Are you okay?" I asked, looking at her bandaged leg. I looked at Hoseok. "Be careful with her leg."

"No, it's not him," Y/n said.

"I made you a sandwich," I said, showing it to her.

She giggled a bit. "Why's there a toothpick in here?"

"It makes it look fancy," I said, looking away in embarrassment. She was about to say something else so I quickly stuffed the sandwich in her mouth and gave her the plate. "Here. Eat," I said.

"Mmm. Seeing that sandwich makes me hungry. Yoongi, can you make me one too?" Hoseok asked.

"Not even in your dreams," I said.

Hoseok sighed. "I know. I'll go make myself a sandwich. See you, Y/n," he said while waving goodbye.

After taking a bite of the sandwich, she gave him a small smile before he left.

There was silence for a while. "This sandwich is actually really good," she said.

"Of course it is. I made it," I said.

She didn't say anything.

"Aaahh, Yoongi!! You used up all the good stuff!" Hoseok nagged from the kitchen.

Y/n gasped. "You used up all the good ingredients on me?" She asked. She started to get up. "I should--"

I stretched my arm across her chest, stopping her from getting up. "Eat the sandwich," I said while looking at her. "I put a lot of effort into that," I said, moving her back down.

She looked at me for a while before replying, "O-okay," and then raised the sandwich back to her mouth, carefully taking another bite. She looked like she only did it because she was Afraid. Afraid of me.

In my mind I sighed. Can I ever not be scary?

There was a long silence in which she ate her sandwich and I just sat there, not knowing what to say. I mean, how could I? I've never had any friends other than Jimin and I never really socialized a lot. I didn't know what people talk about to each other.

I then remembered I still had the pain medicine and poured it in a tablespoon. "Drink this," I said after she finished a slice and held the spoon in front of her.

"What--"

"Here," I said as she opened her mouth to ask me what it was and I took the opportunity to stuff the medicine in her mouth. "It's for the pain," I said while taking the spoon out of her mouth.

"Blegh," she stuck her tongue out. "It tastes horrible."

She kept wiping her mouth and I saw her last slice of bread in the plate. "You better eat that," I said. "I didn't make it for nothing."

She looked at me like I was a genius. "Yes! The bread!" She exclaimed and quickly ate the bread. "So much better," she sighed after eating her sandwich and laid back against the pillow.

There was a short silence before I spoke again. "Next time, don't be so wreckless. Take me with you or tell me first, at least," I said.

She turned her head to me. "Next time? You mean we'll do it together then?" She asked, looking slightly hopeful.

"You seemed like you knew what you were doing. So you're not completely useless," I said while looking away.

She just nodded.

"Are you not greatful? You don't seem like you're happy about it," I said.

"I am," she said simply.

There was silence for another moment and then I spoke again. "Tomorrow, don't go to school, okay? We'll follow them and see where they hide," I said. She didn't respond. "Hey, are you listening?" I asked and when I looked at her I noticed she was fast asleep.

I picked up the medicine bottle and looked at the side affects. Causes sleepiness. "Aish," I sighed. "Y/n, wake up!" I said and she mumbled a "no". "Y/n!" I called again and she went to lay on her side. I just sighed, giving up completely.

After looking at her for a while, I couldn't help but think she looked kind of cute. I considered just letting her sleep but then I remembered her mother and quickly shook her awake.

"Oww! What do you want?" She said while rubbing her eyes.

"Come on. You finished your sandwich. Now go home," I said and realized that might have sounded a bit too harsh.

"Fine. I'm going, I'm going," she said while getting up. "Meanie..." She mumbled.

I went with her to make sure she got home safely and she did.

Y/n's POV

It was eight in the morning and I was just about set foot inside the school gates when I felt a hand pull me by my arm back outside the gates.

"Are you crazy?" Yoongi said, coming out of nowhere. "I told you not to go to school today."

"W-what? No, you didn't," I said completely confused, then I realized something. "Is it because of my leg? I can totally handle it," I said.

"What? Oh! No-- Ohh, I remember. You weren't awake that time," he mumbled awkwardly.

"What?"

"Nothing. Anyways, you're not going to school today. We're going to follow W52 with that tracker device of yours," he said. "Please tell me you didn't leave your equipment at home."

"It's all in my bag. I was planning on going this afternoon," I said. "Can't we go later?"

"It's best we go now. Your mother was very worried last night when you came home late."

He was right. She had been out for the night to a restaurant with a special "friend" she met a few months ago and when she came back she worried herself sick wondering where I was. She had been calling me all night too but since I switched off my phone she couldn't get through to me. Afterwards when I had finally come home she was more exhausted and relieved than wanting to scold me. Then she told me that she wanted me to meet her special friend the next night, so I had to be prepared.

"But I can't miss school!" I said.

"Just come," he said and dragged me by the arm away from school just as the bell had rung.

"Let go! Are you crazy?"

"No, you're crazy for actually wanting to go to school," he said, still dragging me.

"School's about to start," I said.

He didn't respond and only kept dragging me. Eventually I gave up and walked along with him. The tracker was connected to my phone so I took out my phone and checked where they were going once again.

There was a long silence. "I don't suppose you have a car, do you?" I asked.

"No," he said while stopping to look at me, giving me a questioning look.

"Then we can't really follow them right now. They're always moving," I said. "See? We could've just went to school," I sighed.

He sighed too. "Great," he said, disappointed. "What now?"

My stomach growled as a response. I gave him an embarrassed smile.

"Your timing sucks," he said, annoyed. Right after those words, the growling started again and this time it wasn't my stomach.

I laughed a little. "You were saying?"

He just looked away irritably, not giving an answer.

"While we're waiting, why don't we just go to get something to eat?" I suggested. "When they stop moving, we'll go."

"I'm not that hungry. Let's just go on with the plan," Yoongi said.

"And how do you suppose we do that?" I asked. "We can't keep changing directions on a bus or tell people to follow them for us. People will get suspicious."

"Ugh, fine. Then where do you suggest we go?" He asked, impatiently and irritated.

His stomach answered the question with a growl and I answered, "I think your stomach knows."

Later, we found ourselves at a nearby convenience store looking for some food we could call our breakfast.

"Does this place seriously not have any pocky?" I asked almost panicking. I looked in every isle already.

Yoongi, in the isle next to mine, looked at me through the shelve that stood between us. "Idiot. It's right in front of you."

I ignored his rudeness and just replied, "No, it's not. I looked."

He grunted in frustration. "Are you blind? It's right there. Fine, I'll get it for you," he said while reaching his hand across the shelf to my side. "And I might as well take it for myself since you can't even see it."

My eyes shot big as he took the pocky in his hands. Now you must understand: pocky is freaking awesome and no way was I going to let him take the last box. It was one of my favorite things. "No way! It's mine!!!" I shouted and tried to pull it from his hands but instead I somehow slapped him and he fell to the ground knocking over some canned food out of the shelve along with him.

I gasped loudly and rushed to the next isle where he was. I was worried and when I got to the next isle, low and behold this boy was lying on the ground posing. "Uhm, what are you doing?" I asked, weirded out.

"Uhhm..-- Your pocky," he said in a tone I didn't understand.

Behind I confused myself even more, I just said, "Just give me that." I grabbed it from his hand and soon after, one of the staff came to see what was going on. We apologized and convinced them we would pack it right and buy what we want and then be out of their way. Once the man left we silently laughed to ourselves.

After purchasing our things, we sat at a table outside the store and ate our things. While eating I only thought about what our next step would be and what happened last night. I hoped I would remember the guy's face too because in all honesty I sucked with remembering faces and names too. I then remembered another thing of last night.

"Hey, um, Yoongi?" I said. I then realized how weird it was that sometimes I could be confident around him and other times shy. It was quite weird.

"Yeah?"

"I never knew you could play piano like that. You're really good at it..." I said, shyly.

He looked taken aback but quickly recovered. "Oh. Thanks," he said and I could almost see a small smile.

"Why were you there, by the way?" I said, my voice becoming gradually softer when I realized how loud I was speaking.

There was a short silence before he began speaking. "...My mom. That's the reason. That piano, it used to be hers."

"Oh..." I didn't know what to say and I wasn't sure if it was okay to ask about it but when the silence got too much, I decided to ask. "What happened to your mom?"

"She left," he said. "I don't know why, but she just left us. After that was when my dad had to work with W52 to get more money. We even had to sell her piano, which was the last thing we had of her. Now it just sits in that store." There was another silence before he spoke again. "I don't blame her though, for leaving. I just wish she'd told us where she was going," he said.

I gave him a sympathetic smile when I didn't know what to say. I then noticed a familiar uniform from behind Yoongi. They were four students from our school sitting a few tables away from us. Two boys and two girls. I noticed one of the girls as someone who always sits next to me in maths for answers. The others I've all seen from somewhere in school. It was obvious they were staring at us. I looked away, pretending I hadn't seen them. I then heard them speak.

"Isn't that that goody-two-shoes from school?" The taller girl said. I remembered who she was. I always admired the way she looked. She was pretty, tall and knew how to make conversation. Everything I was not. Although I had noticed she loved all the things I did: alternative music, kpop... If I'd not been shy, I might've actually tried talking with her. But I knew nothing of her personality. "Why is she with Spine Breaker?" She asked.

One of the boys laughed. He was shorter with tanned skin. I remembered him as a boy in my class. Always joking around and trying to be funny when honestly he wasn't. He also liked hitting on girls a lot especially if he knew they weren't interested in him. Luckily I had never been a victim. "He's probably going to kill her," he said, laughing.

The girls gasped. "Don't say stuff like that," the taller girl said.

"What if he really is?" The girl from my maths class said. "We have to do something."

Inside my head, I was rolling my eyes at them. Yeah, because you would really hate to not have answers to your maths homework from now on, I thought to myself. Why would they care? I'm nothing to them.

"He's just joking. Don't pay attention to him," the taller boy said, giving the shorter boy a look. I didn't know him but he was tall and had black hair. He seemed like one of those boys all the girls had crushes on. "Let's go," he said and they followed.

"But the girl..." The girl from my maths class said, stopping them. "Do you really think she'll be okay? She's with the most dangerous boy in the school..." She said, sounding almost shy. For some reason it really seemed like she actually was concerned for me.

"Even if she died, what would it be to you?" The tall boy snapped, sounding a bit too harsh on her. Though it I was also quite harsh on me.. But it's what I should've expected, right?

The girl then replied, "We would've just let it happen." The boy just scoffed and the other laughed. "I'm going. You guys make me sick," she said and went in another direction.

The boy laughed. "Be careful Spine Breaker doesn't kill you on the way," he said arrogantly, not caring what would become of her.

The other girl nudged him and told him to shut up. "Let's just go inside already," she said.

"Fine," the boy said. "What's her problem anyways? Spine Breaker's just some creep that acts tough. I could take him down any day." They then disappeared into the store.

I looked to Yoongi and his eyes were narrowed to where they were standing. I figured he'd heard everything they said too.

"You're really okay with them speaking this way about you?" I asked.

"Nothing I'm not used to," he said. He then turned to look at me. "What about you? Are you okay with them speaking that way about you?" He asked.

I looked down at the table, hoping he wouldn't see the sadness in my eyes. "It's nothing I'm not used to." There was a long pause before I spoke again. "Hey, why do they call you Spine Breaker, by the way?" I asked.

"It's how my father died. But they believe it was me who did it. Creative, aren't they?" He said, trying not to sound serious but the sadness was obvious in his voice. I smiled back, pretending not to hear the sadness.

I checked my phone again, seeing whether the car stopped anywhere yet. And to our lucky, it had.

"The car stopped. We should go now," I said.

He quickly got up. "Where?"

We took the bus and rushed to where the car was, hoping it wouldn't leave again. When we got there, the biggest disappointment faced us. The car was there but what we saw was not what we were looking for. The car was parked outside a building, definitely abandoned, but the person inside the car was not the owner of the car. It was some other guy, his window rolled all the way down flirting with some girls to get in and saying something about how he worked hard for this car and paid good money. Liar. That car couldn't be his. Someone else used that car just the night before.

"You said you left the car door open last night, right?" Yoongi asked and then sighed. "Someone must have stolen the car while they were out trying to catch you," he said.

I sighed. "Great. So this was all for nothing," I said, disappointed. "I should have just closed that damn door."

"Speaking of those guys, I want you to be careful from now on. Those people know your face and mine and they'll be looking out for us," Yoongi said.

Something then crossed my mind. "Um, Yoongi? What if they already are on the lookout for me and found me?" I asked him, looking at him afraid of what would happen to me.

"What do you mean?" He asked, stepping closer.

"Last night when I got home, my mom said she found the garage open. She thought I opened it but I didn't. Nothing was stolen apparently, but there's a box of my dad's old papers from work in there and that was the only thing that was rummaged through... You don't think..." I didn't finish my sentence but I didn't have to. We both were already thinking the same thing.

"It was me," a voice from behind us said.

We both turned to see who it was. It was a boy wearing our school uniform. He had the perfect brown hair that seemed to glow in the morning sun. The features on his face were beautiful. His eyes were a piercing shade of brown and he had the most beautiful full lips. He had broad shoulders and looked muscular in his uniform. He looked angelic. I knew who he was. Everyone did. He was thee most popular boy in our school. He was a model and perfect in the eyes of most people.

His name was Jin. Kim Seok Jin.

"I was the one who broke into your garage," he said.

Some pics of Jin being the best freaking visual just because. ↓ ↓
