Val POV

⇥After Damian and I talked, I went to my room to adjust my wrist tasers (the ones that black widow wears around her wrist that shoot electric stuff and yeah I'm just gonna stop). Damian had been through similar events then I have been in, the only thing that sets us apart is that he had everything was given, while I had to earn it. I got a knock from my door, "Come in," I said to reveal Rachel.

"Um, Starfire said we were going to a fair so get dressed," she said, then looked at my clothes that I was wearing. "Nice onesie, Aqua," she smiled at my unicorn onesie.

"Don't judge,"

"I won't," she smiled then left.

I changed into a white top, leather jacket, dark blue jeans, a navy scarf and black boots. I look at my necklace, it's probably just a fun night out... but then again anything could happen, but also my suit isn't fully done yet, I look at my wrist tasers, should probably bring those just in case. After pacing back and forth deciding whether I should or not bring my necklace. I decided to bring my necklace that wraps around my neck like a chocker but with a white triangle upside down. I head downstairs with the rest of the team where we see Starfire arrive with a miny van. "Wait we're driving in that?" Damian asks.

"I had higher hopes," I confessed, thinking of a dramatic entrance that only happened in the movies

"Wait we can only fit five," Damian says

"Yeah, I have got that covered," Gar says, as he transforms into a cat. "See I'm travel size," He says

"Kitty!" I say like a five-year-old girl at the zoo pointing at a tiger.

I pick up Gar and hug him in his cat form. "How come, you show me more affection to me when your a cat?" Gar asks as we hop into the car.

"Cause, as a kitty I can't get angry at you, but as a human, I plan 100 ways to kill you," I say as I scratch the head of Gar's head.

"What?!"

"Nothing," I say innocently.

"Dude, did you have to pack the sword?" Jamie says as Damian's katana nudges at him.

"Technically it's a katana," I point out and Damian smirks.

"How come you're taking his side?" Jamie says

"I'm just pointing it out," I say innocently, which works

"Preparedness is exquisite for victory," he says

"The gear stays in the car, Damian. Tonight we are to enjoy mandatory fun," Starfire says. Okay, how she says just annoys me. I feel sorry for her. We hop out of the car, with Damian leaving his katana in the car. Gar transforms back into a human and puts his hood on. He tries to give me a hug but I just move out of the way.

"Awww, how come I get no more affection?!" Gar pouts

"Um, cause maybe your not a cat anymore?" Rachel asks sarcastically and then me and her just laugh. Rachel walks ahead with the others, I stay back a bit to admire the stars.

"You coming?" Damian asks

"Oh, I thought you already went for the others," I say

"I thought I should wait for you," he says. I give him a smile, and he smiles back.

"Um, we should catch up with the others," I pull my hair behind my ear.

"Yeah," he says. Once we go get in Starfire addresses something

"This is an opportunity to get to know each other better,"

"How familiar can we get? We already have seen Garfield lick himself," Jamie says

"As a dog?" Damian asks

"I wish," Rachel says, Damian just cocks his eyebrow and looks to me for an answer.

"Do you really want to know?" I ask. He takes a few moments to think and gets it

We first ride the Ferris wheel. Jamie rides with Gar, Rachel rides with Starfire, and I ride with Damian. As we get to the top I lean forward to see the view.

Flashback

My 10-year-old self was sitting in my room, reading a book.

The night was blanketed with a dark cloth, with bright tiny holes piercing through the cloth. Oh, how the outback breeze swept the dusty plains of the outback, oh how I loved it.

I take out my notebook, with a bucket list on where to go to. I add Australia on the list. For this past me had not seen the sky not once, alone the entire world. She dreamed to set her wings free and explore the world, see everywhere and everything.

She wanted only freedom

Damian POV

I admired Val's beauty and complexity from my seat, the moonlight and stars revealing her face in the perfect lighting as if it was a snapshot taken by a professional photographer. All she did was look and admire something, just one simple thing, made the whole world in my view stop.

Her focus was disrupted by the wheel going down. We got off and watched Garfield and Jamie shoot ducks. Val then disappeared as something had caught her eye.

Raven then started laughing at me, I looked behind to see a mirror that made my butt look big, but I pointed at the other mirror that made Raven's head big. Ring toss was next, Raven threw one at a time getting some in and some not. I gave it a go by throwing 6 rings all at once, and getting them all in. It surprised Starfire and the rest.

Val's POV

Okay, I've got distracted by the food, but it was all worth it. I played a lot of really hard games and won them with flying colours. I've managed to get a lot of tickets, and I mean a lot. I went to the area where we swapped our tickets for prizes, as I observed the prizes a big, jumbo pusheen cat caught my eye.

"Kitty," I just said to the man and pointed to the jumbo-sized cat.

He lifted the giant plushy toy to me. " Here you go kid," he said and I gave my tickets. After walking around, and hearing a few kids saying 'i want one' I finally found Damian and Rachel eating cotton candy. "Rach? Um, a little help?" I say

"Oh my God," Rachel just laughed, "Did you win that?"

"Ummmmmm.............., yes?" I said.

"But how?"

"I won a lot of tickets," I say and pull up a chair for my plushy toy. "Can I have a bit?" I ask Rachel.

"Sure," and I take a piece of the cotton candy.

"Um, you have something here," Damian says pointing at the corner of my lips.

"God, Aqua, how much chocolate did you have?" Rachel smiles.

"Um, I kinda lost track after 10," using my fingers to count.

"Um, Val?" Damian says

"Yeah?"

"How are we going to fit that in the car?" he questions.

My mind just goes blank, why did I not think of that. Well, Fuck.

"AWWWWWW!" I hide my face in my arms on the table. "Screw my life," I say.

Rachel just laughs.

I then felt a sudden shock go through my spine, I looked behind to go to a nearby hill. Somethings up. I get out of my seat and head towards that direction, Rachel and Damian went over to a crowd watching Garfield vs Jamie in a dance battle. I head toward the hill to see a man in a trench coat, wait I know that blonde-haired guy anywhere.

"Johnny!" I say

He turns around taking his cigarette out of his mouth. "Well, well, ain't it the little mischief herself," he smiles. "So you lowered yourself to a bunch of kids," he says

"Um, I am a kid," I say.

"Yeah, but- you know, your-"

"Not in this life, so what happened?" I ask

"I was going to visit Lucifer Morningstar (Yes if you don't know he is actually part of the DC comics), heard the king of hell opened a bar," he said.

"Say hi to Lucy for me," I say

"Yeah, will do," he then opens a magic portal. Halfway through the portal, he stops. "Oh, you better be careful kid, heard that demons are coming out, dunno what reason for," he says.

I had my suspicions it was Rachel. "Thanks, I think I know the reason why," I say. The portal then vanishes. I walk back and grab my prize from the chair to which Rachel and Damian had no decency to look after. I see Damian and Garfield versing each other, and it seems that Garfield is getting tired. Then on Damian's screen, it pops a big yellow 'winner' on it. He walks down I just smile and clap, but my plushy cat just falls down.

"Great job Damian!" I say.

"Awesome dude," Jamie says.

"That was impressive," Starfire complements.

Garfield falls down the stairs of his tiredness.

"You okay Gar?" I ask.

"Yeah," he groans. "Hey, where did you win that?!" he points at my jumbo-sized cat.

"I won it," I say

I then see Raven looking and following a girl with black eyes, that must be the demon. She had it right? We get out of the crowd, with babbling each game I won.

"Wait, noo, that game is rigged," he says.

"Yeah, cause you hit the third one, that one had glue. You can tell cause the cans are levelled," I say

"Damn," he rubbed the back of his head. Then suddenly we turn to the right to see an explosion.
