"so this man offered to cover the cost of the surgery ? Why would he ?"
One of the doctors asked Dr Lee, who was eyeing Della in return.
"He wants to adopt the girl. He was looking for a girl in West's age in the hospital who was an orphan but did not find any. But here is Della."

He smirked, as they stared at Della, who was struggling to keep her eyes open.
"Do the surgery, doctors. We have the money waiting for us."

A Few Hours Later :

"Mr, the surgery was successful. Della will be awake in no time."
Dr Bailey Howard said to the man who offered the money.

"That's amazing. Thank you."
Howard eyed the man suspiciously.
"I'm sorry to ask, but why do you want to adopt Della ?"
"I have never get the chance to see my daughter, who died when she was a baby, and right now, if she was alive, she'd be Della's age. That's why."

She looked up to him sadly.
"I'm sorry for your loss, Mr..?"
"please, Call me Henry. Henry Nelson."

She nodded, giving him a small smile.

A few moments later, Bailey looked into the windows of Della's room, and her expression turned cheerful.
"oh my god, she's waking up !"

She ran into the room, trying to keep her voice calm and said something to her that Henry couldn't make out, but he noticed that Della's expression turned delightful.

Howard then motioned to him to enter the room, and he did.
"Hello, Della.."
"Hey.."
She said weakly.

"Do I know you..?"
She asked after a moment, he thought for a quick second, then replied.
"not really, but you soon will. Della, I want to adopt you.."

She looked up to him in excitement, but then her expression turned to thoughtfulness.
"But what about my brother ?"
His face dropped, and turned to the doctor, whispering.

"I did not know she had a brother..!"
Bailey coughed uncomfortably.
"um, Della, Honey. Ever since your brother knew he had to pay a lot of money for your surgery, he didn't..um.."

Della's heart broke.
"he didn't come..?"
She said, on the edge of tears. Bailey shook her head in disappointment.
"No..but I'm sure he wanted to-"
"No, he didn't want to. It's clear now."

Della answered coldly, and turned to Henry.
"whatever, about this adoption thing..will you treat me well ?"
He nodded.
"Of course, you'll be my daughter, how can I not treat you well ?"

"will you protect me from my parents ?"
His heart melt, and nodded.
"Yes, dear."
"Deal !"
She smiled and hugged Henry. Bailey smiled.

The Next Day :

"sign this paper, Mr Nelson. Then Della is free to go."
The secretary said, smiling, giving him a pen.
He signed his name quickly, and gave her the paper, and the pen.

Della was smiling.

As they headed towards the car, Della gasped in awe.
It was a black limousine, and from its appearance and the first look at it, she knew that her new dad is rich.

She was ready to start this new adventure.
