Shubman's POV ~

After a hectic day, I managed to find time to write down in the e-diary. 

The one who invented this deserves everything good in the world, for real! 

All through my life I have opened many innings and made some great partnerships and bonds, but never expected something like this which I am facing right now. Who thought Shubman Gill would settle for an arrange marriage? That to an old friend? Dad and Mom always say I am one of the best sons and Di says none could be better as a brother than me but as a life partner? As a husband? I had a couple of relations but they didn't work out. I don't know why I agreed to finally settle down, but yeah---

Well, Diary, it's all for today. Mom's calling!

Shub.

' Coming in a min, Mom!' I yelled and getting up, closing the Ipad, went downstairs.

'You have to go for ring-shopping with Aashna today, you remember right?' 

'Ofcourse. I have texted her that I will pick her up at approx 5.' I smiled and replied.

 I was feeling jittery because i want to talk to her for the final time before the engagement and all begins. I don't want to suffer her because of me. Paparazzi and media are after me mostly because of the rumors than my play, making it all messed up and I don't wish that her life messes up too.

 After marriage, it's going to be our life and if anything hits me, it will hit her too, even if I try to protect her with all my might. I have seen how they created problems in Virat Bhai and Anu Bhabhi's lives and that got me more worried. I am not as strong as them and I know Aashna is not too. She's pure-hearted and sensitive. She comforted me but somewhere it always pricks me.

 Will I be a good husband? Friendship is the thing we always had since childhood and I don't want this new relation to ruin that! Also, deep down his heart, slowly, bit by bit, he was beginning to see her in a different light. Not just because she's his fiancee, but because of being the beautiful human she is inside out.

Third Person's POV ~

Dressed in casual, Shubman was waiting outside Aashna's Mansion. 

'Sorry for keeping you waiting, Shubman!'

Shubman looked up from his phone and looked at his lady. Well, no matter what she chooses to wear, she looks beautiful. In the simple floral print, she managed to get those words out from his mouth.

'You're looking b'ful like always.' He said, and like a gentleman, opened the door of the passenger seat for her.

'Thank you.' She smiled, genuinely happy at his compliment.

' We're going to your favourite cafe first.' he said, after he got in too and started driving.

'And my answer is no. Shub I know what you intend to do! Look I have said my final words. I want to give a chance to it. I feel it's going to work. Stop being anxious please.'

'Uh...'

'Look, as an example, Mahi Sir and Sakshi Bhabhi - they had each other's back even when they faced backlash in 2015, when India lost the semis. Ziva was few weeks then. Being two different poles they're still together, you know what kept it sailing? Trust, respect and the vow of being beside each other.  Same for Virat Bhai and Nushkie Bhabhi! And Ro Bhaiya and Rits Bhabhi? They set goals!!! Love is a very big thing, and it took them time. Now answer my question.'

'What?'

'You trust me?' she asked, softly.

'Ever since we met, I have trusted you, respected you and adored you, even though we were just kids then.'

'Idiot, then why are you hesitating? Let's do one thing, take a time of a year after marriage and if we feel it's not working, we'll-'

'This is why I tell you to stop watching those daily shows. so absurd- Agh why are you so  ziddi  (adamant)?'

'Less than you! Now start the car or else I'll get down this instant!' Aashna replied.

'Yeah, let's go! First, the jewellery store, then Manish Malhotra's, then the cake tasting ---'

' Momos after that for me and Salad for you! ' she grinned.

'Aashna! Yaar, let me have plate of momos for once na. You're behaving like the team dietician and Mahi Bhai!' Shub whinned and drove.

Aashna poked out her tongue at him and looked out of the window, enjoying the breeze.

Aashna Mehra. 28, a year younger than him, yet more mature. The Gills and Mehras have been close-knit for long. As a result the to couple have been together too. And what to say about their bond? Abhishek's rants how she had access to his cards and vice versa while Shub showed misery just to him. He had undertood her in a way like no else could, and same from her side, even more.

'Sure, Sir! But for whom?'

His tone earned a chuckled from Aashna.

'For both of us.'

'Uh-- umm Congratulations, Sir and Ma'am!'

Why am this bad at choices? Can't finalize a good ring! Shub whined.

'I have chosen the one for you. How is it?'' She said and showed him the ring.

'Yaar how are you so good at choices?' he whispered.

Smiling, she replied, 'Learnt from the man beside!'

WEDDING IS NEXT WEEK! SEE THE VENUE OF SHUBMAN GILL'S WEDDING!

'Sweetheart? Seriously?' Aashna sounded irritated over the call.

'Well, you yourself chose this life!' Shub smirked.

'Oye mera swagat kaun karega?' Abhay dramatically yelled and entered the house.

'Tu ghar basane aaya hai?' Shub asked, gasping at the amount of luggage he has brought along.

'Idea bura nahi hai, but mujhe kabab mein haddi bann ne ka koyi shauq nahi.' Abhay smirked and jumped on the sofa.

Aashna, who was still on call, sighed. 

DRAMA.CHAOS. TEARS. BLESSINGS.

That's it for the day when they got married. 

Shubman legit had tears in his eyes when he saw her walk down the aisle, with her brothers. A small smile on the face and joy radiating. He was awestruck. 

At the end of the day, he whispered to her, ' The Shubhi you knew will always be there for you. He won't change, no matter what. As a husband, as a life partner, I might disappoint you, but as your good old friend, I'll never, I know, and I promise too.'

'Always and forever?' she asked.

'Always and forever.' he replied.
