17. a circle in a spiral

when i saw you, my heart melted to my fingertips
--- and i wrote.
then i realised, how when two poets fall for each other, little heart-wrenching whirlpools are created.
with each stroke we engraved ourselves on each other,
swift
and elegant
and cutting deep.
now we are stuck in a carousel, embracing each other,
till our skins burn.
we wear each other's hearts on our sleeves
--- and we write.

Note:
ok so, i wrote this poem as an entry for an activity in lifeisfunnnn 's Activities Book. you should check the book out too! it has fun, engaging and creative activities to bring us all together.
this activity was to write a short poem based on the picture right at the top, Drawing Hands.
Drawing Hands is a lithograph by the Dutch artist M. C. Escher first printed in January 1948. It depicts a sheet of paper, out of which two hands rise, in the paradoxical act of drawing one another into existence. This is one of the most obvious examples of Escher's common use of paradox.
also, i must mention, this poem is slightly inspired from the song 'windmills of your mind'. the title of this poem is also borrowed from there.
the song:
i would suggest you to take out some time, close your eyes and listen to the lyrics of the song :) it will draw a beautiful picture in your mind.
