the beast has been haunting me.
everywhere i go, the beast is always there.
she is not a nightmare, she is the centre of my reality.
last night was the hundred and sixteenth time she slapped me.
the beast puts me on her lap and my skin burns,
the more i cry out, the more it burns me.
i run.
i run and run.
she comes closer to me the farther i run.

i can now hear her growl from the shallow empty pit under my skin.
