hi. i wanted to send u the album because if i'm going to be completely honest, the majority of it is ab you. during those four months of me avoiding you n everything i was taking time to better myself but to also process what i was feeling, what i wanted. n at the time, i wanted you. i was scared to admit it and my mental health was the worse it had ever been so i didn't know if it was jus because of that. but as i got healthier i realized it wasn't because of the state i was in. it was because at the time, i wanted something more. sorry if this is weird. jus wanted to let u know before u listen. u don't have to listen either. jus thought i would send it since the whole world gets to listen to it tmrw n i didn't want u to be shocked.

tom paced back in forth of his new york hotel room. he had just got ariana's text and he wasn't sure how to respond so he concluded he wouldn't.

he clicked the link ariana had sent him, he clicked on the first song called 'raindrops,' although zendaya wasn't suppose to tell him, she had told him it was about mac leaving ariana. he couldn't help but be in awe of her beautiful voice.

tom listened as pharrell voice came through his speaker on his phone, he instantly knew it was about him when it mentioned magnetic demeanor. ariana had admitted that tom had one. it also mentioned what tom said about ariana, not minding spending his off days with her.

he skipped 'light is coming,' he had already lisented to it.

the next song, 'r.e.m,' made him a little confused, as he didn't know who it was about. he listened as she talked about watching other girls bugging someone, but that could also be about pete since he did have a following. it was when she said the lyrics, "think i heard some wedding bells (shh) keep it to yourself," that he concluded was about him. that was the conversation laura and zendaya had in the group-chat on christmas eve. tom couldn't help but blush.

he got to 'sweetener,' the song he knew was about him. he had no idea that would be the name of the entire album. his eyes widen as she mentioned her liking the way he licked the bowl. he couldn't help but laugh when she mentioned his mom sending them horoscopes.

he got to 'successful', and instantly remembered the night ariana got intoxicated. he bumped his head to the uplifting song, he was surprised she even remembered to write that song.

he felt suddenly felt sympathetic when 'everytime,' came on. you could easily tell who it was about and it reminding tom of all the nights ariana spent crying in his arms about mac.

he smiled the whole time he listened to 'breathin,' especially when ariana said he reminded her of a time when things weren't complicated. he was happy that he made her feel safe.

when listening to 'borderline,' he remembered the night him and ariana wrote it. she did change some parts though, specifically verse, "once you taste my ice cream, bet you won't ever leave," he couldn't help but laugh. he then quickly realized this was the song ariana wrote about realizing she wanted him.

listening to 'better off,' he couldn't help but agree with her. mac was always a nice and friendly guy when tom would go over to ariana's, he even considered mac a friend. but ariana went through a very dark time in her life because of him.

he had already listened to 'goodnight n go,' which he at first thought was about mac but once again, zendaya confirmed it was about tom.

"pete fucking davidson?" tom started, "you really gave this fucker a song?" he said. he played it, a look of disgust on his face.

he listened to 'get well soon,' and almost cried. ariana really opened up about what she went through and what she's still struggling with. he thought it was the best way to end an album.

"fuck," he started, "i'm in love with ariana grande."
