16 | Caught Red Handed

Nina groaned quietly to herself as she began to wake up, immediately regretting her actions from the night before that resulted in the pounding headache she now had. She turned her body to the side to hold Samir, and her eyes fluttered open when she grabbed air.

"I'm here Tinkerbell." His voice made her head turn, and she saw him at his desk with his journal and a Bible in front of him.

"Do I look how I feel?" She mumbled tiredly.

"That depends. Do you feel bonita? Because if so, yes. You look bonita." He referenced the TikTok without looking up from his journal, and she laughed, rolling over to lay her face in the pillow that smelled just like him.

"You so corny Samir." She pulled the covers back to stand up, and he only smiled in response, keeping his head in his journal.

She just woke up and called me corny. Is it corny to say that the sun shined brighter as soon as she opened her eyes? Possibly. That's why I wrote it down instead of saying it out loud.

Isn't it ironic how she woke up as soon as I read 1 Corinthians 13:4-5? The love I feel when I see her is very patient and very kind. It wasn't ironic at all, I think it was meant for me to be on that page just now. God shows me continuous signs when it comes to her and I love that for us. This situationship wouldn't work if He wasn't at the root of it.

I can't thank Him enough for bringing her to me, even though He did it while she still belonged to someone else. That stopped nothing though, clearly.

I wouldn't trade My Tinkerbell for nothing.

"What you doing baby?" Nina walked out of the bathroom and headed in his direction a few minutes later, wrapping her arms around his neck from behind.

"Writing." He closed the journal so that she couldn't see before pulling her down to sit in his lap.

"I don't like how you acted this week." He told her; internally sighing in relief to himself because he thought he'd chicken out of expressing his true frustrations.

"Samir you literally beat h—,"

"I know and I can see why you'd be mad even though I don't agree with you, but ignoring me fixes nothing—especially if you'll just start talking to me again like nothing happened in a few days. We could've talked as soon as you found out to avoid the unnecessary tension. I didn't like that Nina." He signed to her with his hands, holding his signature frown on his face.

"How come you don't agree with me?" She asked.

"You're ignoring my point. That doesn't matter."

"Yes it does because was I supposed to be okay with you breaking my husband's face?" She frowned as well.

"One, don't pull the husband card with me because you don't even want him. Two, just because you've never had a man defend you the way that you deserve to be defended doesn't make what I did wrong, and three, if you're looking for an apology, I'm not going to give you one." His second point caused her frown to disappear, knowing that he was right.

Despite being upset about how brutal the beating was, she did genuinely appreciate him getting justice for her because she didn't have the courage to get it for herself. Nobody had stood up for her the way that he had, even if he went about it in a way that was slightly uncalled for.

"I hate when men are right." She told him, and a smile graced his face that matched hers.

"Ugh. How is a 23 year old teaching me to be mature? I'm aggravated." She leaned back on his desk, and Samir's hands drifted to rest at her waist.

"Don't be. Learning new things will never get old, no matter your age. I wanted to tell you how I felt so that maybe we won't have to have a conversation like this again." He pulled down his shirt that she wore, covering up her brown Skims underwear.

"I'm sorry—for ignoring you and making you mad, and for expecting things to go back to normal without talking about it. Oh, and for getting drunk and making you come get me." She thoroughly apologized, and he smiled at the last part.

"Being with you makes me realize that some of the behaviors I'm so used to are actually toxic and I need to let them go. It might take me some time though, so I'm sorry for that too." She wrapped her arms around his neck again, planting a kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you for wanting to change for me. There's some things I'll have to learn too, I'm sure. It'll help us out in the long run." He said.

"Long run? This not just a fling? You love me that bad huh?" She smiled, cockily dusting off her shoulders.

"You hate me that bad that you wasn't thinking about this being long term? Fake as hell." He shook his head in disbelief, making her head tilt back with a laugh.

"I've been enjoying the moment like you said. I haven't thought that far ahead yet." She chuckled while kissing his cheek again. She loved his face. It was so soft and he was so handsome, she wanted to kiss him a million times.

"Well start. I'm not going nowhere. Are you?" He asked.

"No baby. I love you so much."

"I love you more. He wasn't fuckin' with you this week, was he? You was good?" He held her face to make her look at him, and the tone in his voice made her want to melt.

"No I think he learned his lesson. And stop all that cussing like you grown Mir. You not." She mushed his head back while standing up from his lap.

"Yes I am. Talkin' 'bout him make me mad. And I only curse when I'm mad. Or, when—you know," He did a wave of his hand to avoid saying sex, and that made Nina laugh again.

"Oh so you grown enough to cuss but not to say sex?"

"Yup."

"Sad. You should embrace that word. You do it good." She told him, and she laughed harder when he cut his eyes over at her.

"You annoying. Stop talking to me." He opened his journal and picked his blue mechanical pencil back up, tuning out the sound of her laughter.

"It's not like I'm lying. That's why I gotta watch you close now. Ion need nobody thinking you free game or nothing."

"I'm not worried 'bout nobody but you ma." He shrugged.

"You so perfect. Can't believe you mine."

"And you called me your man last night." He spun the chair around to face her with a growing smirk on his face.

"Yeah 'cause you are. Come here. Come lay with me." She opened her arms, and Samir stood up from the chair to get in the bed with her.

"Simple stuff that don't really be meaning nothing to you be meaning the world to me." He told her as her arms returned to their place around his neck.

"You mean the world to me." She pushed his dreads out the way to give him a kiss, and he stared down at her as she sucked his bottom lip into her mouth. He loved when she did that—which was almost every time they kissed.

"I missed you." She added when the kiss broke.

"I missed you too. I really don't wanna do that again. I'm in love with you Nina. I need to see or hear from you every day."

"Move yo' hand. Don't pretend like you the shy one now." He grabbed her hand to pull it away from her face once she blushed, refusing to look up at him.

"Stop it Mir." She pulled him down on top of her to hide her face in his neck, making him laugh.

"You stop. You let me eat yo' p—,"

"Samirrrrr stop it." She dragged out while covering his face, and she smacked her lips once he laughed harder because he knew exactly what he was doing.

"I was mad last night but I ain't today. What you wanted me to do when I picked you up?" He asked.

"Not a damn thing." She told him, and she couldn't hold back her laugh after listening to him laugh again.

"Please spare me. It sounds like you done got confident or learned something new and I don't want nooo parts. Please," She held her hands up in surrender with a smile on her face.

"Why?" He held the same smile.

"Boy 'cause that thang already big and what, you learned how to put it to work? Better than the first time?" She asked, and Samir continued laughing while nodding his head at the same time.

"Be quiet. I was just nervous the first time. And I still made you s—,"

"Oh my godddd, can you hush?" She covered his mouth before he could finish, rolling her eyes at how funny he thought he was.

"Aight ma I'm done. I'm done, watch out." He chuckled, lying back against the headboard with his hand over his stomach that now ached from laughing so hard.

"Yo' real unfunny ass." She shook her head at him after putting her attention back on her phone, and Samir smiled, turning to lay on his side to face her.

"It's okay. I'm not gon' tell nobody." He leaned forward to kiss her nose, then looked down when he noticed his reflection in her phone camera.

"That I made that pussy squirt." He added right before she ended the video, and she dramatically gasped while he laughed one last time.

"You so annoying bruh. Why would you say that?" She saved the video anyway with a smile on her face.

"'Cause I felt like it. That was your first time for real though or you were just boosting my ego?" He asked humorously.

"Leave me alone Samir."

"What? I'm just curious. You've been having sex for five years and you never did that before? Does he make you cum at all?"

"I'm not answering that." She said without looking up from her phone.

"Why? No judgement here. Give me this." He took her phone from her and laid on top of it, and his smile grew when she smacked her lips again.

"No judgement here." He repeated with a sly grin, watching her prop her head up in her hand to look at him.

"The last time we fucked I did, but before that, it hadn't happened in a while. You happy now?" She chuckled.

"That's unfortunate. How often do y'all do it?"

"Why do you want to know about my sex life with another man?"

"I'm curious, obviously." He said as if she should've known that with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Like once a week.. Sometimes I give him head just 'cause he be damn near begging but I don't really like fucking. I don't see a point when it's not even good. It's not even all that bad it's just—I don't like doing all the work. Then it be for nothing 'cause soon as he nut, he all of a sudden tired and wanna stop."

"Do you—you know, do it for yourself after?" He asked.

"Nope. I just take my L and carry on with my life. That's why I cried with you. That shit clearly doesn't happen often."

"That's very sad." He told her in all seriousness which made her laugh.

"It doesn't bother me that much 'cause I don't like doing it anyway. Well, except when I'm drunk. I be pissed then." She shook her head at herself.

"I don't know why you be saying you're weak. You stayed with a man for five years a—,"

"Please don't clock my tea right now. I can't handle it. Just hush." She twisted his lips up, and he pulled his head back with a laugh.

"I'm just saying. Now I really do have to watch more videos 'cause I'm not gon' do you like that." He reached over on his nightstand to grab his iPad, using Face ID to unlock it.

"Like right now? Really?" She tried not to laugh.

"Yes. What do you like? You pick one for me, hold on." He went to safari, and Nina face palmed herself after noticing that the tab to X Videos was already open.

"Samir, baby, I'ma touch your hand when I say this—this is really unnecessary." She patted the top of his hand with a laugh when he paired his iPad to the flat screen TV mounted on his wall, and he ignored her, turning the volume up even though no video was playing yet.

"Here. Pick one." He held the iPad out.

"How about, no? You too freaky for me." She pushed it back in his direction.

"How? It doesn't do anything for me. It must for you though, that's why you don't want to choose, huh? You're the freak." He looked over at her, and she laughed again while rolling her eyes.

"Fine. I'll watch them by myself when you go to sleep." He switched out of safari and went to DoorDash instead, realizing that he hadn't fed her yet.

"What you wanna eat ma?" He then asked; he didn't even have to ask if she was hungry because she always was.

"You switch topics so fast. First porn, now food. So unpredictable." She dramatically sighed before adding, "I want In-N-Out."

Samir made his order from the same restaurant first without responding to her, then he passed her the iPad so that she could make hers. Then, he paid for it with his card that was linked to Apple Pay and let Nina add a second order from the convenience store up the street because she wanted some snacks.

When their food arrived, of course Nina's favorite movie, Baby Boy, was put on the TV to occupy the time when they weren't speaking; mainly focused on the food. She loved that Samir never complained about watching this movie with her because they'd watched it a million times together already, but he didn't seem to mind.

In the midst of them talking about a book that Samir was reading on Amazon Kindle, his phone rung, and he knew it was Samara because she was the only person who was allowed to notify him outside of Do Not Disturb.

"What?" He answered, ignoring Nina's light hit to his chest for his rudeness.

"Are y'all seeing the timeline right now? I tried calling Nina but she didn't answer. She sleep?" Samara asked, and both of their eyebrows furrowed with confusion.

"No. The timeline?" He repeated just as Nina grabbed her phone from the nightstand, immediately taking notice of the flood of notifications.

She had missed calls and thousands of messages from Tyler, his parents, his brothers, Zyriah, Samara, and even some of her family that she was no longer in contact with. There were also a plethora of tags and mentions on Instagram, X, and Facebook.

"Oh my god." Her heart damn near fell out of her chest at the post on the biggest social media blog, The Shade Room.

While details are unclear, it appears the two were getting quite cozy at a restaurant in downtown Houston. Allegedly, the side piece is seen grabbing Nina's georgia peach with his hand around her neck! Tyler seems unbothered but defensive over his wife as X users attack him over his response to the video, while Nina is still radio silent. 👀 (SWIPE)

"I'ma call you back Mara." Samir hung up without waiting for her to reply as Nina stood up from the bed, and he got up right after her, blocking her from going to his closet.

"Samir I'm not in the fucking m—,"

"Who you talking to?" He cut her off with a slight head tilt, and he could see the tears building in her eyes as he locked his gaze on hers.

"I don't have time for this Mir. I need to go home. Move. Please get out of my way." She reached up to wipe the tears that escaped while his expression softened.

"Nina I know you panicking but you good ma. Look at me." He gently lifted her head up to make her look at him again.

"It ain't nothing that he ain't already know. Don't let the comments from people you don't know get to you, aight? They don't know nothing 'bout you or what you been through with him. You not wrong for being with me. People would've found out eventually anyway. Calm down, please." He grabbed her hands, but let them go moments later when she wrapped her arms around his neck for a hug.

"I'm so fucking irritated Mir. Why would they even record me? I'm so mad bro." She then covered her face, and Samir's arms remained around her as she cried.

This was the exact reason why she didn't let Samir take her out on real dates at public places.

Although she was only known for being Tyler's wife, Tyler himself was a very popular public figure in Houston. He held countless community events for the city and was even close friends with the mayor, and his parents owned the biggest megachurch in the metropolitan area.

She knew that if she was seen out with Samir, it would be no time before it hit a local blog. She didn't know that one of the biggest blog pages would post something involving her though.

It was very aggravating because she and Samir weren't in that restaurant for more than two minutes. Why would anybody be watching her that hard to see what she was doing with him anyway, especially since it was mostly dark? And what did they gain from posting it?

Like Samir said, the people bashing her in the comments had no idea what they were talking about and she hated the fact that she couldn't reply to everyone and defend herself. She couldn't even come forward with the truth about Tyler's infidelity being committed first because that would ruin his image and people would still bash her for staying with him.

This was a lose-lose situation.

Ok so what y'all wanna see? Cause I got writers block bad af I'll delete ts rn 😖😖😖😖😖😖😖😖😖
