Annabelle traced her fingers over the letters on the dollar bill, reading it over and over again and getting the same fluttering feeling in her stomach every time she read it. The dress that he had left her was carefully tugged into her bag, and meticulously placed in a plastic bag to shield it from anything that could stain, wrinkle, or harm it in any way.

"Bells!" The girl shoved the dollar bill into her pocket, her eyes snapping up to where Pope peaked his head out of the car window. "You ready to go?"

The girl nodded and picked up her duffle bag before jumping into the seat next to Pope. The boy handed her the brown apron with Heywrd's fish shop logo on it and she put it on and flipped down the sun visor mirror, placing her hair in a bun while making sure her makeup looked good for the 100th time that day. It was obvious that the effort she had put into her makeup was excessive for just serving fish and transporting food but it wasn't for the guests that she had gotten ready.

Heyward jumped into the driver seat and the three of them took off. It didn't take more than four minutes before Pope and his father began to argue about the incident with Topper's boat, leaving Annabelle to awkwardly sit in silence as her gaze drifted to the window.

"I don't know what happened to Toppers boat. Quite honestly, I don't want to." Heyward said as he parked by the Cameron residence. The man exhaled deeply and jumped out of the car, followed by the two teens. "You were two seconds away from having a different life. You just about killed me. It would have killed your mama."

Annabelle instinctively threw a few glances around hoping to find a certain kook in the area. She sighed quietly as she had no luck and returned her attention back to the task at hand. She jumped into the cargo bed of the truck and handed the green dolly to Heyward who sent her an appritive smile in between his scolding.

"And you know the deal!" Heyward told Pope. "One of these rich kids messes up, they'll still go to college and meet another rich person. Then they'll make more rich kids who'll also get third and fourth chances."

"I know. I gotta do better. I get it." Pope sighed as he unloaded the cargo boxes toward Heyward.

"You wanna spend your whole life grinding it out like me?" The father lifted the box to the ground, assisted by Annabelle.

"It's your grinding keeping us afloat in the first place."

"I except better for you Pope. I want better for you." Heyward said. "You too, Anna. If either of you end up like me, I will consider that a personal failure. You need to wake the hell up. And you could start by picking better friends."

"Don't talk about our friends." Pope retorted making Heyward lift a brow.

"You don't know nothing. Friends. Shit. You two will see." The man closed the door to the cargo bed before slipping away upon seeing what Annabelle believed was an old friend.

The girl turned to Pope. "He's just trying to look after you. He's doing it out of love." She patted his shoulder.

"Those friends he's talking about are the reason why I'm here and not in jail right now." Pope glared over at his father.

Annabelle took a deep breath and swallowed hard at the mention of JJ.ย  Guilt bubbled up as she thought of the mess he was inโ€”a mess she and Pope had been complicit in.

"I know. But he doesn't know that. He's just protecting you." She forced a smile. "Come on, let's serve these rich farts some food."

The Cameron estate was adorned with an almost obscene elegance. Flowers and beautiful fairy lights hung all over the place, from the ceiling, wrapped around arches, along the edge of the roof. White silk cloth was draped around the area, transforming it into something fairytale-like. The kooks had begun to crowd the place but still no signs of Rafe. Filthy rich folks with fancy dresses and expensive suits roamed over the place chattering and laughing as they sipped their rich folks champagne.

Annabelle assisted Pope with arranging and putting together the food tables and the grill, working under the relentless sun. She labored under a tight schedule, hastily placing the plates in a line for Pope and Heyward to fill with their fish.

"Pope, the hell are you doing?!" Heyward spun around facing his son who stood over the grill. "You've burnt half the food, boy!"

Pope stepped aside, allowing his panicked father to attempt to salvage the mess. Annabelle stopped what she was doing and turned to her friend, pulling him aside.

"You okay?"

The boy mindlessly stared back at her for a moment before sucking in a deep breath. "I'm fine."

"You're not. Talk to me."

He bit his lip and looked away from the girl. "JJ's in this mess because of me."

Annabelle breathed out. She couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt at the mention of JJ's name. He was in that mess for something that Pope did and Annabelle allowed him to do. The two were just as guilty as JJ but he was the one taking the blame for it.

"Pope, don't say that." She looked up at him.

"It's true."

"No, it's not. JJ is in this mess because he's a good friend, not because you're a bad one." The girl said.

"Excuse me, sir. Do we have to shuck these ourselves?" A British accent asked behind the two and Annabelle rolled her eyes as she spun around. But her annoyed expression quickly shifted into a smile at the sight of who stood behind her, Kiara's presence instantly lightening the atmosphere. "Cause it might mess up my costume."

"We wouldn't want that now, would we?" Pope said in a British accent and he and Kiara did their signature handshake. The girl then stepped toward Annabelle but she was quick to back away.

"I stink fish. Your kook ass can't go around smelling." She grinned. "That's up to us filthy pouges," Annabelle said in Topper's voice and Kiara chuckled. "That accent was horrible by the way."

"It was. I was gonna let it go." Kiara said. "You ever seen this many kooks in one place?"

All three friends turned to face the crowded area behind them. "Yeah," Pope said. "Last year."

"We're in the lion's den." Annabelle exhaled.

"Exactly," Pope said before shutting the grill. "Hey.. have you heard from JJ?"

Kiara's gaze fell to the ground. "No..." She sighed. "He'll be all right. He's got the survival instincts of a cockroach."

"Right." Annabelle nodded, however, she couldn't suppress the feeling that she was wrong. JJ might make bail but she knew that his father wouldn't be delighted to have to cough up all that money. Neither of his friends had heard from him and it was alarming.

Annabelle was snapped out of her thoughts as the cluster of kooks in the backyard began to clap. Her attention was lifted from the fish on the table under her and up to the big backdoor where Ward and Rose Cameron walked out. Ward smiled and waved like he was some celebrity and Rose did the same as she tried to balance the huge crown that she wore on her head. With gold spikes and flowers, she looked like a horrible knockoff of Lady Liberty.

Following behind the pair came the Cameron siblings. Annabelle's eyes instantly fell upon the taller figure out of the three. Wearing a blue suit and a bored expression he walked next to his youngest sister. After a moment of taking the crowd's applause, the boy spotted the girl and the bored look on his face lit up, just enough for Annabelle to notice and her heart to skip a beat.

"Is he staring? Is he threatening us? Haven't he had enough?" Pope panicked.

Annabelle was forced to tear her gaze from Rafe and look at her best friend. "No, I'm sure it's nothing."

"If he comes closer to any of us, just poison his fish." Kiara chuckled and the two friends hummed in agreement.

โ€ขโƒยฐโ€ขยฐโ€ยฐโ€ขยฐโƒโ€ข

The night dragged on, the air growing cooler as the sun dipped below the horizon. Annabelle kept looking at the time on her phone. Heyward yelled at her multiple times for doing it and losing focus on her cooking. The clock was a little over seven when all the guests had finished eating and Annabelle was quick to help Heyward and Pope with packing everything up before saying some lame excuse about having to go to the bathroom. She slipped inside the garage bathroom where Ward had instructed them to go so that they wouldn't disturb the other guests. It was pathetic. The kooks were eating the food that the lower class had worked hard to make and they couldn't even be in the same building.

Annabelle swiftly undressed and washed off in the sink, scrubbing the bar of lavender soap against her skin hoping to get the smell of fish off. She tugged at the zipper of her duffle bag and carefully picked up the dress. She had to stop for a moment to just admire it before putting it on. She hadn't dared to even try it on before because she was too scared that she might damage it in any way if she did.

She froze completely at the sight of herself in the mirror. The dress hugged her waist perfectly, hanging beautifully over her figure and the color gleamed in the light. She felt genuinely pretty. She remained like that for a moment admiring the sight of her reflection in the mirror before quickly fixing her makeup and letting her hair out. She scanned through the bathroom drawers, finding a perfume that she sprayed over herself.

Once she was done, she couldn't stop smiling at the sight of herself in the dress. She never felt beautiful like this. She felt like a princess. The girl couldn't stop herself from spinning around in the confined space, letting the dress flow around her, reminding her much of the ocean. She threw herself a last glance in the mirror before walking out, hiding her duffle bag, and slipping out the garage door.

When she stepped outside, the world seemed quieter. She walked toward the oak tree, the faint hum of the party fading with each step. 9:05 am.

As the seconds passed, Annabelle began to wonder if maybe it was all just a prank. That the entire group of kook boys stood in the bushes, filming her as she stood there looking like a lost puppy.

"Bells," The girl spun around at the sound of his voice, and relief washed over her instantly.

"Hi," She breathed and sent the boy a smile. Rafe slowed down his pace and let his eyes wander up and down Annabelle and the dress that adored her figure. He dragged his hand over his slick back as he admired the sight. The way the dress hugged her curves, the way the silk clung to her skin, and how the blue color complimented her hair.

"Wow, you're...you look beautiful." He said as he stopped in front of her, his eyes meeting hers. He watched as a soft blush touched her cheeks which made her even more beautiful and Rafe couldn't stop the tug of a smile from forming on his lips.

Annabelle grinned and almost melted under his admiring gaze. She was probably redder than a tomato at this point and she prayed that the dark night concealed the crimson color. The boy's eyes shifted up and down her figure once again and a shiver ran down her spine.

Annabelle smiled up at him. "You're crazy for this you know that right?"

"I mean, I wasn't gonna wear it so it might as well go to someone who'll use it." Rafe grinned.

"Oh, so you just had this, lying around?" The girl raised a brow.

"Yeah... in the store." Rafe shrugged with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

She rolled her eyes and chuckled. "This better not be your way of trying to buy me."

Rafe's eyes traveled up her figure again and he shook his head. "It's not. I swear." He met her gaze and took another step closer. His tall frame loomed over her and his gaze watching hers, steady and sincere. "I wanted you to come here because I wanted to see you. I.. needed to see you."

Annabelle's heart made a small jump in her chest and a wave of redness danced over her cheeks. The sincerity in his words sent a wave of warmth through her, but she fought to keep her composure. She just prayed that he meant it.

She took a deep breath. "Rafe.." A quick smile flickered on her face. "You're making this really hard."

"What?" Rafe breathed out a chuckle.

"You're making it so hard to hate you." Annabelle shook her head. "You're supposed to be the pouges biggest enemy. The guy I should hate for hurting my friends. Who makes me feel small... But you don't."

Rafe felt the relief wash over him at her words and a smile inhabited his face. He had to poke the inside of his mouth to prevent the smirk from growing but the sides of his mouth betrayed him.

"It's confusing," Annabelle said.

"It doesn't have to be." Rafe shook his head, the smile still glued on his face.

"But it is." The girl met his gaze. "Because at the end of the day, you're gonna go back to your world, drinking fancy drinks, dressing up in fancy suits, and going to fancy parties and I'll have to go back to my world where my job is to clean up the mess your kooks leave behind."

Rafe's smile faltered just a little and his gaze fell to his feet. "That's not fair, Bells." He sighed.

"It's true, though."

"Doesn't mean that we can't work something out." Rafe met her gaze again, studying to see how she would react. The girl bit the inside of her lip, preventing a grin from tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Whatever. I don't want to think of that tonight." Rafe said.

She stared up at him and couldn't help but smile. Their gazes didn't falter as they stared at each other in silence, not wanting to look away from one another. Rafe couldn't for the life of him tear his eyes off her. He had always thought that Annabelle was the most beautiful girl on the island. It wasn't a secret that Rafe was popular around the girls on the island. He'd sometimes engage in the flirtation thrown his way but he rarely enjoyed it. But with Annabelle, it was different. When he looked at her, he didn't see a desperate girl who could be his company for the night. He saw and felt so much more even though he knew he shouldn't.

Annabelle swallowed hard realizing her throat had gone dry. She sucked in a deep breath but the air around them seemed to have turned thick from the tension between the two teens. "You're so beautiful," Rafe said in a hushed tone as his hand gently brushed over her bare arm, almost as if asking for permission to touch her. His fingers over her skin brought goosebumps and the girl inched closer to him, wanting more.

Rafe smiled at her when she stepped near. His hand moved down her arm, prickling the skin along with it. His hand slithered around her waist, tugging her closer. Annabelle was slightly shocked at how gentle he was with her as it didn't mirror how he usually was, cold and bold.

"Let's get out of here before anyone sees us." Rafe breathed, his face close to Annabelles. The girl nodded and his hand remained on her waist when he led her away from the commotion in the backyard of the Cameron residence.

"Where are we going?" Annabelle whispered as they traveled through the dark night. Rafe grinned down at her as he let her through the garden, with his hand now on the small of her back.

"Inside," He said and the girl stopped in her steps abruptly.

"Are you insane? There's a horde of kooks in there." She gestured toward the house.

"I'll sneak you in." He grinned but the girl's face remained a mask of disbelief. "It's my house. I know that place better than anyone." He guided her to one of the side doors but she stopped him before he could open the door.

"Rafe, I don't know about this." She glanced around her. "You get caught with me, that's social suicide."

"So. We'll just have to make sure we won't get caught." He grinned and creaked the door open leading her inside what seemed like a laundry room with another door, separating them from the party outside. Voices bounced between the walls, some coming from just outside the door. Rafe whispered for the girl to stay back as he peeked his head out through the door, making some quick small talk with the men outside before they moved along.

He guided her through the door and out into an open hallway. It didn't take long before they spotted someone casting a shadow over the carpet in the corridor. Annabelle froze, panic gripping her throat but Rafe acted swiftly. He pushed the two of them inside a cramped space that seemed like some sort of broom closet.

The small room barely fit two people, especially not someone as tall as Rafe. The low ceiling forced him to lean forward, making the space between them even smaller. Annabelle glanced up at the boy whose eyes stared at the door, watching as the person passed outside before his gaze met hers. They remained like that for several moments, despite the signal being clear. Neither of them wanted to move away. Quite the opposite. The obvious tension in the room revealed that they wanted nothing more than to close the proximity between them.

Rafe's hand found its way to Annabelle's hip, dragging up the silk slowly and carefully. The girl instantly reacted to his touch, her breath hitching and her heartbeat picking up. The boy's eyes raked down her frame and watched as she leaned closer, desperate for him to close the distance between them. Rafe couldn't help but feel his chest tighten along with his pants at the sensation of her body this close to his, almost pressed up against him.

Rafe guided his hand up along her curves, gripping her waist and pulling her even closer. His eyes scanned hers before dropping to her lips. He caught her mouth in a kiss that Annabelle didn't hesitate to lean into. The kiss quickly got heated, Rafe's hand gripping the girl's waist tightly as his other hand met her cheek.

Filled with a sudden rush of desire and electricity, she tugged on his blazer, groaning softly against his lips. Rafe bit down on her lower lip at the sound she made against his mouth. He tugged on her waist, hungry for more.

"Wanna get out of here?" He breathed against the skin of her jawline where he placed scattered kisses. Annabelle hastily nodded and Rafe pushed the door open and led the girl upstairs.

They pushed Rafe's door open leaving them alone, finally. Rafe didn't waste a second before pressing his lips back against Annabelles, the pair walked backward until the girl's back met the wall. She instantly melted into him, allowing the boy to completely take over all her senses. His hands explored her curves, traveling up to the side of her face.

Annabelle tugged on his shirt, desire consuming her and needing him closer. The boy responded by pinning her more firmly against the door, his hand moving down her side to her ass, giving it a squeeze before lifting her leg to his side, holding a tight grip on it. His lips moved over hers, the two complementing each other perfectly. The pair deepened the kiss, making it fill with more desire, need, and passion.

Annabelle had to choke back a groan as the boy moved even closer, pressing himself up against her, with his hand still holding her thigh firmly. The two were getting more breathless by the second, forcing them to pull away for just a moment both panting from the sudden rush of desire. Annabelle's cheeks were flushed and her lips parted as she stared up at the boy, whose eyes looked down on her with a certain hunger in his gaze. His hand slid down to her jawline and he used his thumb to tilt Annabelle's head up just enough for him to dive down and hungrily explore the now-exposed skin on her neck.

Annabelle closed her eyes, letting a hushed moan leave her lips at the sensation of Rafe placing kisses and gentle bites on her most sensitive spot. Rafe grinned against her skin at the noise before kissing a line up her neck to her ear. "God, Bells." He breathed. "You have no idea what you're doing to me."

He explored down her neck again and the girl's breathing picked up at his words. Rafe's lips moved back up to her lips, pressing against them with even more passion than before. Annabelle swiftly dragged the blazer off Rafe's shoulder allowing it to fall into a pile on the floor. She moved to the buttons on his shirt and Rafe copied her movement and began unbuttoning the rest. Rafe groaned against her lips at the feeling of Annabelle's hand exploring the skin on his stomach that was now exposed. She dragged her hand over his toned abs before cravingly forcing the shirt off him without breaking the contact of their lips.

Rafe pressed himself against her firmly as he lifted her leg just a little further up his side, the sensation of him that close to her making Annabelle groan. Rafe used to opportunity to slip his tongue inside her mouth.

The heat between the two was almost overwhelming, the pair losing themselves in one another. Rafe grabbed her other leg, lifting her with ease. The girl wrapped her legs around his waist while being trapped between the wall behind her and the boy in front of her. Annabelle could feel the desire in Rafe's pants and she moved her hand to tug gently on his hair. The boy responded instantly, another groan slipping out of his mouth. His hands slid up and down over the silk fabric of her dress, drawing lazy patterns along her curves.

"Rafe," Annabelle panted. Rafe's pants tightened at the sound of his name on her lips and he glanced down at her with eyes, dark with lust. "The bed." The girl breathed but he seemed to hesitate.

"You sure?" He said, his voice horse and breathless.

Annabelle nodded and the boy didn't waist another second to remove her back from the wall, carrying her across the room with her hands still wrapped around his legs before gently dropping her down on the bed. Rafe stood by the end of the bed, staring down at her and enjoying the sight of her beneath him.

He slowly climbed down over her, pressing his lips against hers once again. He caught her bottom lip between his teeth, tugging gently on it, forcing a hushed moan from her mouth. The boy made his way down her neck to her collarbone. He toyed with the strap of her dress, glancing up at her for permission. The girl sent him an approving nod and Rafe carefully pulled the straps off her shoulders before sliding the fabric off her completely and tossing it off the bed. Rafe bit down on his bottom lip, pushing back a groan at the sight of her. He unbuttoned his pants and pushed them off before climbing back on top of her, his mouth moving to her ear. "You're so beautiful."

No one had ever managed to make the girl feel so full of electricity. She grinned up at him before her hand slithered around his neck, pressing his face up to hers. The pair met in yet another heated kiss, filled with the aching lust they both needed to relive so badly.

Annabelle tilted her head up and Rafe was quick to place kisses over her sweetest spots. The girl reached up to the drawer in the nightstand. She shuffled through it before finding just what she was looking for.

She grinned up at him as she handed him the small square package.

"Are you sure?" He hesitated. "I don't want you to feel pressured or -"

"I want to," Annabelle said and Rafe dipped down, placing scattered kisses on her neck before opening the condom with his teeth.

"You're so perfect,"

โ€ขโƒยฐโ€ขยฐโ€ยฐโ€ขยฐโƒโ€ข

Sweat beaded their skin as they lay trying to catch their breath on the bed. Annabelle rested her head against Rafe's chest with his arm around her. His fingers drew lazy patterns over her arm as he stared down at her. Her hair was a little tangled and her eyes still a little glossy. She had never been more beautiful, lying there in his arms.

"Rafe!"

The pair on the bed instantly shuffled to their feet at the sound of Kelce's voice down the hall. Annabelle scurried over to her dress on the floor and dragged it on as Rafe attempted to quickly button his shirt. The girl looked at him with eyes widened in panic as the boy outside got closer. Rafe nodded for the closet and Annabelle didn't hesitate before hurrying inside and shutting the door behind her. It wasn't her first time hiding in that closet.

Rafe had lazily buttoned his shirt and tossed his pants on when Kelce busted through the door.

"Rafe, the-, " Kelce said before coming to a halt instantly at the sight of his best friend. It was as obvious as the sun what had been going on in there. Sheets tossed around, shoes thrown to the floor and Rafes sweaty bangs hanging over his, still a little red, face.

"Don't you know how to fucking knock?" The Cameron boy roared at him.

"Sorry, man. Damn!" Kelce threw his hands in the air before kissing his teeth and walking up to Rafe to dab him up. "My man!"

Rafe grimaced at him and shoved his hand aside. "Grow up."

Kelce rolled his eyes and chuckled as Rafe continued getting dressed. Annabelle did her best to quiet her breathing as she pressed herself against the hanging clothes behind her.

Suddenly, something caught Kelce's attention and he circled around the bed. "Woah, man." Annabelle squinted through the small slots in the closet to see the boy holding her underwear up and her heart dropped.

"Kelce, man put that down!" Rafe said through gritted teeth but he kept holding them, staring at it like he had never seen anything like it before. Rafe took quick and aggravated steps toward the boy, shoving him back and ripping the underwear from his hands. "You're pathetic, you know that right?"

"Who was it?" Kelce chuckled, ignoring his comment.

"Shut up." Rafe sat down on the foot of his bed and put his shoes on while glancing over at the closet every now and then.

"Oh come on man," Kelce groaned.

"What was it that you were gonna tell me." He led, or more like shoved Kelce out of the room.

Annabelle waited for a couple of moments, her heart beating against her ribcage. After several minutes of silence, she slipped out of the closet and over to her underwear on the floor. She then put her shoes on and fixed her hair.

She didn't dare to walk out the door. Instead, she headed for the window. The branch that used to be her entryway into Rafe's room had grown even further which made it easy for her to climb onto it, even in her dress. She was familiar with every leaf and branch on the big tree. However, the way down wasn't exactly easy. With her heels in one hand, she carefully placed her feet down the tree. With one last jump, she landed on the ground but when she did, she heard a rip. Before she could examine what had happened, she saw the figures approaching from around the corner. She swiftly turned on her heel and rushed to the garage. Hurrying inside the bathroom, she pulled her dress off and put her working clothes on, the smell of fish still etched in the material.

She stared at the dress. The side of it had gotten a rip, probably from one of the branches. She sighed and pushed it inside the bag, throwing a quick glance at the time on her phone. 8. 11.

She scurried out of the garage and back to the main dancing area. She slipped passed the guest and back over to Pope who seemed beyond relieved to see her.

"Where the hell have you been?"

"Girl emergency." Annabelle quickly said, knowing how awkward Pope would get. And she was right. The boy nodded swiftly before looking back out on the crowd. Annabelle did the same, her eyes scanning the many faces for a certain Cameron boy, but he was nowhere to be found.

However, it didn't take long before her eyes found JJ. Being held by a guard, the boy stumbled out through one of the doors yelling and throwing his arms around, quickly catching everyone's attention.ย

"Look, man, I can walk myself! I got legs. Can you see that brother?" JJ said, swaying as he was escorted through the crowd.

"Oh, shit." Pope and Annabelle said in unison.

"Oh, Mr Dunleavy! I see you got your drink. Good, that's really nice of you." JJ said to one of the older men by one of the tables. "I'm actually gonna down that." He chugged the drink and if everyone's eyes weren't on him before, they were now.

"It's okay everybody!" JJ shouted and Annabelle rolled her eyes, hurrying into the crowd. "Do not panic! Let's leave it to the men and women in uniform. Let's hear it for them!"

Annabelle looked past JJ and up at Rafe, who stood with his kook crew by the bar. His eyes pierced at her, almost as if she was the one yelling and creating a huge commotion.ย

"Rose!" JJ shouted, earning back Annabelle's attention. "Look like Lady Liberty! It's good to see you again. Hey buddy, can I have one of those." The blonde reached for the tray of drinks that was being carried by one of the butlers.

"Let go of him!" Kiara's voice bore through the commotion leaving the backyard in complete silence, with every pair of eyes ping-poning between the two teens. Even the band stopped playing and all that was heard was Kiara's parents' attempts to stop their daughter from committing social suicide among the kooks. But Kiara didn't seem to bother, completely ignoring her parents. "You can't just boot him! I invited him here! I'm a member of this club."

JJ turned around and pushed the guard off him. The man collapsed into the tray of drinks causing the sound of at least a dozen glasses to shatter on the ground.

"Sorry about that," JJ said before turning to Kiara. "Hey, mandatory power hour at Rixon's, Kie!"

The blonde glanced around, finding Annabelle's gaze in the crowd and a grin appeared on his face. "You too, Bells! Let's roll!"

The girl didn't hesitate before pulling the apron off, hanging it around the neck of the closest guard. JJ called out for Pope as well but the boy seemed to hesitate, throwing an unnerved glance over at his father.

"Workers of the world unite!" JJ shouted.

John B appeared behind them waving Kiara and Annabelle over. The Carrera girl was already on her way off the porch, not paying any attention to her parent's attempts to hold her back. The brunette stopped in front of Annabelle, intertwining hands and the two were off. They giggled as they ran, just a few steps behind Pope over to the two boys who eagerly waved them over.

Annabelle rushed up to the blonde. Greeted by his arms wrapping around her, lifting her from the ground, and swinging her around, she let out a loud laugh. She felt what could only be described as complete and total freedom.

Once the group of friends was all gathered, they rushed off, disappearing into the dark and leaving the fairy lights, fancy drinks, and expensive clothes behind them. At that moment, it didn't matter what Rafe or any of the kooks thought of them. All that mattered was there and then, and there were her friends. Her family.
