Kimberly went back to sleep around 4 AM, content with what she had achieved. You could definitely say that she was a night owl, always more productive and energetic in the night than during the morning and day. She also HATED mornings.

So when she woke up again in the morning, she hated absolutely everything. Kimberly groaned when she gave up on trying to block out the sunlight from her eyes. She rolled over to look at the time, something that she did often when she woke up.

10:26 AM

Lovely. This is a time that everyone should be awake, and yet Kimberly hated that she needed to actually wake up and go do stuff. Kimberly grudgingly accepted her fate of waking up after five more minutes of rolling around unhappily. She stood up and blindly stumbled into the bathroom that was conjoined to the bedroom she was in. She switched on the light and the sink. She quickly splashed some cold water on her face to help her wake up, which worked.

After combing her tangled hair, she decided that she looked decent enough to go get breakfast. She walked to the kitchen and found Charlie sitting on the island, scrolling through his phone and eating the cookies that Kimberly made a few hours prior.

"Good morning mate," she said in her over-dramatic posh British accent, startling Charlie and causing him to almost drop his phone. "Holy shit" he muttered. "Couldn't you, I don't know, say good morning without scaring the crap out of the person?" Kimberly shook her head "of course not mate, that takes out all of the fun." She said, still in her British accent. "Anyways, I am starving! Is there anything that I can have for breakfast?"

Charlie thought for a moment, then shook his head. "I don't think so, I have to go to the store today."

"Okay, then let's go to a cafe or something." Kimberly replied. "Alright, where do you want to go?" Charlie asked the girl. She shrugged in response "I am not the one that lives here, you are!" Charlie rolled his eyes but agreed to take the hungry girl to a coffee shop. "Fine, now go get ready, I will be waiting for you in fifteen minutes." Kimberly eagerly thanked Charlie and went to go get ready.

She tied her hair with a ribbon into a simple half-up half-down style and put on black shirt with jean shorts. She did a simple makeup look, using some concealer, blush, mascara and lipgloss. After she did her makeup, she realized that fifteen minutes have already passed and that Charlie was probably already waiting for her.

Kimberly quickly grabbed her purse and phone and ran to the entrance of the apartment. As expected, Charlie was already there, waiting for Kim. When he saw her, he froze for a moment, his eyes sparkled with, Kimberly thought, awe? But he quickly shook off his trance and motioned for her to follow. Kimberly just shrugged and followed Charlie.

Charlie and Kimberly walked for about ten minutes before arriving at a cute coffee shop. Kimberly looked around and grinned. "I love small aesthetic coffee shops," she said. "It brings me joy that people put in so much work so that we could enjoy food happily."

Charlie smiled as the girl continued speaking, thinking about how cute she looked when she was so carefree and happy. He really missed his best friend for the past few years.

After they ordered their food and sat down, Kimberly asked Charlie what they should do today. "Hm, let's see..." he thought. "We could go see the tourist attractions! It's not exactly the 'season' for all of them to be here, so I don't think there will be a lot of people." Kimberly thought about it for a second and nodded, happy with his choice.

"Let's go to the Hollywood sign first! I haven't seen it in my whole life!" Kimberly exclaimed after a few minutes of them sitting quietly. Charlie looked up from his phone with an astounded look on his face. "You have NEVER been to the sign? And to say you grew up here!" the boy exclaimed, surprised.

"I am sorry, my dad worked his ass off, so the only views I got to see were green screens and flying people on strings." The girl replied. Charlie apologized for being so harsh, "sorry, I didn't mean for that to sound so mean." he said. "It's okay." Kimberly said back.

The two spent the rest of the time at the cafe silent, only saying a few words here and there. Kimberly tried to pay, but Charlie beat her to it, saying that it was to make up for "dampening her mood", whatever that means. Though the smile that he gave her definitely made her feel better.

Charlie did take Kimberly to see the Hollywood sign, just as promised. They then went together for ice cream and stopped at the beach to look at the sunset. As they watched the sun set, they talked, for almost an hour. It was nice, finally talking with someone without a filter. Kimberly hoped that she would never lose Charlie like she did during the seven years they were apart.
