"And then he just asked me out pretty much." Kimberly ended her story, laying on her bed, with Leah, Dior and Olivea sitting around her.

"Wow he finally grew a pair." Olivea commented, causing Dior and Kim to giggle.

"You guys make me believe in true love." Leah sighed dreamily.

"Charlie is officially an idiot." Dior laughed.

Kimberly shrugged. "A cute one at that."

"Ewwww." Olivea wrinkled her nose. "That's disgusting." Kim chuckled. "He said that he's taking me on a date actually."

"What! When?" Leah almost jumped up in excitement. "At 4:30." The older girl replied.

"Kim! That's in an hour." Dior said. "Oh shit..." Kimberly realized, immediately getting up. "I need to get ready!"

"We'll help!" Leah offered, looking more enthusiastic than Kimberly herself. "When did I sign up for this exactly?" Olivea groaned.

"Just come on." Leah pulled the red-haired girl up and followed the 2 older girls to Kimberly's closet.

"This is cute. Is it too much? It's just dinner." Kim sighed as she took out a dress from her closet.

"Hm..." Dior hummed as she shoved through the racks of Kimberly's clothes. "Look! You can wear these jeans and then wear that cute sweater that you bought last month."

"And no matter what you wear, Charlie is going to have all of those lovey-dovey eyes for you." Leah grinned, causing Kim to shoot her an unamused look. "Nuh-uh. Stop feeding my delusions. I'm delulu enough already." Leah laughed.

After Kimberly put her outfit on, she turned around and looked at herself in the mirror. "How's this?" She asked, looking at her friends' reflections in the mirror.

Dior smiled. "Perfect." "Okay, okay, no time to waste. Come on, let's do makeup." Leah ushered the three other girls into the bathroom.

"I think Leah is more excited about this than all three of us combined." Olivea giggled. "Okay shut up. I just like love, okay?"

Kim smiled. She missed when she was also so open and happy about relationships, and boys. Before Alex ruined it all for her. That selfish prick manipulated a sixteen-year old girl into giving anything and everything into her first relationship, just for him not to care. The dump that Charlie and her friends got Kimberly out of was dank and dark, and if not for them she would still be in a terrible mental state.

Today was the first date that she felt actually excited about, because she knew she could trust Charlie. He would never let anything happen to her, she knew that.

After another twenty minutes of gossiping, bickering and doing makeup, Kim finally left her hotel room.

"Hey. You ready to go?" Charlie smiled as he saw her approaching him.

"Yep. I'm so ready for this super-duper secret date." Kimberly grinned and Charlie shook his head with a smile on his face before kissing the top of her head. "C'mon." He said before intertwining their hands and walking her to his car.

"Where are we going?" Kimberly whined. The couple has been driving for the past fifteen minutes, and she was getting a little confused. And concerned a little as well.

"Well I can't take you to a restaurant, can I? Because I guess you wouldn't want for us to be out in public yet, so we need to go somewhere farther away." Charlie replied, squeezing Kim's thigh.

Her eyes softened at his words, her lips upturning into a smile. She gave his hand that was on her thigh a squeeze, turning away to look at the window so that he couldn't see the tears pricking her eyes. She blinked a couple of times, making sure that the tears didn't spill.

Alex never cared that much. He actually never cared what she wanted, what she felt or what she thought, only thinking about what benefited her specifically.

"Your happiness is the most important thing to me Kim. And if it means planning a little more and working a little harder, then that it will be."

After another couple minutes, Charlie finally stopped the car and parked it.

"Are we at the beach?" Kimberly asked, confusion visible in her voice.

Charlie grinned. "Yeah. It's a little walk." He said as he motioned for the girl to follow him.

She jogged a little to catch up to him as he stepped onto a little secluded pathway. As they stepped onto the sand, Kimberly let out a small gasp.

Charlie had set up a picnic blanket with some candles, and there was a variety of Kim's favorite foods.

"Char you didn't have to." She said as she started to tear up a little.

"No, but I wanted to." He smiled. "Now come, please, I don't want to know that I wasted all of this time for nothing." He said before kissing her cheek and motioning for her to sit down.
