5-DEMONS

➳➳➳➳

Tears stains were painted against her purely innocent face. Complete melancholy perfused into the whites of her eyes. The young girl, whom saw more tragedy than anyone her age; she felt fraught, she felt downhearted. Nova Mae Lambert-was in one word described as courages. The blonde strong girl, was brave and knew what she wanted. Now that her mother was murdered, right in front of her eyes, she felt demoralized. She had no hope left in the world. All she wanted to do was to die, just like her own mother. Of course she had her father, who she loved, but she was always closer to her mother. Her mother would teach her to make simple meals, teach her how to clean around the house, her mother taught her everything she knew.

Nova walked to school with her head down. No tears were left, but she felt numb and bruised. She felt exhausted and lost. The blonde wearily sat down at her desk, as her teacher began teaching. Peeta had glanced over at the young girl, yarning to help her. He felt worthless that he couldn't make her feel better. Nova was his first real friend, and he hated seeing her so down in the dirt.

After their teacher dismissed them, Nova hurriedly made her way out of the classroom, avoiding the sympathetic smiles and pitiful pats on the shoulder. She hated getting pity from anyone-it made her feel like a charity case. Nova didn't need charity. She didn't want help from anyone. Nova had always been independent and a free spirit. She didn't want or accept help from anyone, she was one that liked to be on her own.

Peeta had caught up with her, as he took her hand in his, interlocking their fingers together. Nova couldn't help but give out a small smile; his touch made her feel a flutter in her stomach. She didn't know why, but liked it. Peeta had took her to the meadow the two had first went when they first met. They sat down on the green, tall grass, feeling the breeze whipped against their bodies. It was peaceful; tranquility raced through their veins, making them feel somewhat at ease.

Peeta had looked over at Nova, as he watched her staring off into the sky. He took notice of her eyes glistening from the sun. Her eyes were somewhat puffy from crying, but they still looked beautiful. Her pouty lips were colored a light pink. Her hair trailed down her back, and down her shoulders. It curled at the end, as it had laid naturally. Peeta never realized how beautiful Nova was until this very moment. A feeling of warmth trembled in his stomach; it was nothing painful, but there was a slight sting to it. His face felt hot and heated, his hands were clammy. He wiped of the sweat on his pants, as he nervously bit down on his bottom lip. He suddenly felt nervous, and he didn't know why. Peeta never felt this nervous around Nova, why the sudden change now?

Nova turned to the timid boy, a girlish giggle escaping her pink lips. "What's wrong?"

Peeta turned up the corners of his lips. "Shouldn't I be asking you that?" He innocently questioned.

Nova let out a loud sigh. She turned her head back straight, her eyes darting toward the sun over the horizon. "I'm not," she honestly admitted. "But I'm getting on."

Peeta touched her hand, as she quickly looked over at him. "I'm here whenever you need me. I'm your friend, Nova. Forever and always."

Nova smiled, a hint of pink flushing her cheeks. "I know, Peeta. Thank you for being such a good friend." She lightly pressed her lips upon the boys cheek. His eyes widen, as he felt her lips press against his hot skin.

When Nova pulled away, she was blushing heavily, as was Peeta. She laid her head against his shoulder, as they both watched the sunset.

Nova Lambert had demons that were violently clawing at her. She felt sorrow; like there was no happiness left in her. Demons were sucking every bit of life and soul the little girl had left in her. They were mentally killing her from the inside, and she didn't know how much more she could take. The demons were her nightmares. They were her worst fear. She was scared for her life. The demons were out to get her.
