19-FOREVER AND ALWAYS
➳➳➳➳
It took a few days for Nova to take a step out of her home. Her empty house felt cold, and lonely. Her parents' things lay untouched, not a single clothing item was moved an inch. The blonde was numb with pain, her eyes couldn't form another tear. Pain was almost nothing; it was an emotion Nova felt all her life. After she lost both of her parents, it felt like she wouldn't feel again. But she had a turn of events. Nova looked at herself in the mirror, telling herself that she will be okay. She had herself, and Peeta-and that's all she needed. When the 74th Hunger Games would emerge in just a few weeks, her and Peeta would flee. Finding a new life and home, just for the both of them. A whole new life; a dream.
The girl walked down the streets towards town square, as several heads gave her a sympathetic stare. A tone of sorrow fell from their lips, giving her a pitifully hand on her shoulder. Nova bit down her lip, as she rubbed her arm, her head lowered down to the ground. She didn't want pity, she wanted everyone to leave her alone. In a few weeks time, they'll forget about Nova Mae Lambert, and worry about their loved ones being placed into the games.
Nova spotted Peeta in front of the bakery, feeding the pigs with the left over bread. "Peeta!" She shouted, running over toward him. Peeta sharply turned to the blonde's voice, as she ran into his arms. "Can we please go?" Her voice pleaded. Peeta nodded, taking her hand, leading her towards the meadow.
They sat crossed-legged on the grass, silently. Nova sighed. "I can take it anymore with the pity glances and the 'I'm sorry for your losses' speech."
Peeta lightly squeezed her hands. "I know No, but they just feel sorry for you. I got them too."
Nova rolled her eyes. "But I don't want people to feel sorry for me. I was sorry for myself until I realized my parents wouldn't want me to mourn their deaths-they would want me to celebrate their lives," a small smile showing on her face.
Peeta stared lovingly at her. "That's what I love about you. Always trying to find the bright side of things." Nova chuckled, shrugging. "Well, I try."
The sun was going down, and the sunset was arising in the east. A soft, delicate breeze swept past their intertwined bodies. Their lips touched, hungrily yarning for one another. His hands lay on her hips, gently feeling her soft skin. Her hands tangled in his wavy hair, a pleasurable moan escaping her lips, as she felt his lips nibble down her neck. The feeling was sensational and overbearing. Their bodies were blissful, feeling theirselves communicate through a series of movements from their naked bodies.
"Nova," Peeta said, as he smiled dainty, as he watched the blonde put back on her long, white cotton shirt. Nova hummed a response. "I have loved you since that first day in school, and I never stopped. That love has grown even stronger as we gotten older. I never knew what love was until I met you. I never knew I could love until I first saw you. You have been the best thing to happen to me; and I want you to be the last best thing to happen to me."
Nova felt a stray tear fall down her cheek, as she intently listened to Peeta's loving confession. Peeta reached into his pocket, pulling a certain round, silver object-a ring. Nova gasped, as she realized what this was.
"Nova Mae Lambert, I know you've been through so much. But I promise you, I will protect you from all the pain and suffering in the world. Will you please, marry me, No?" Peeta asked, as Nova nodded her heard several times-not even having to question it.
"Yes! Yes!" Nova screamed, throwing her arms around his neck, giving him a passionate kiss. As they pulled away, Peeta slid the small, yet beautiful engagement ring on her finger.
And their love was forever and always; in other words, enteral.
