✿ CHAPTER ONE ✿

( ANGELICA GOLDHORN )

ONE: THE HUNGRY BADGET

"𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬?!" an excited voice called outside of the marauders train compartment, it sounded like a young girl, her tone happy and high pitch.

"what's going on? since the moment i stepped onto this train there have been whispers and screaming" sirius said partly annoyed considering he wasn't getting the attention he usually received when being around the females of hogwarts. a true narcissist.

"some actress or model is coming to the school apparently" remus said not looking interested in the subject as he didn't even look up from his book.

james, sirius and peters eyes widened in shock and happiness as they all but nearly fell out of their seats at the news. boys and their hormones. "merlin! my wishes have been granted!" sirius all but cheered happily as he had a dreamy look on his face, his hand on his heart as he looked at the ceiling in awe.

"do y'know who it is moony?" james asked eagerly as he leaned forward so he was only a few inches away from remus' face.

"no" was all the lanky boy said not wanting to entertain the two gits with information. he did know who it was, he and lily had a talk about it on the way back from their prefects meeting. well lily overshared and he listened.

"she can't be as beautiful as my lily though" james said regaining himself after the redhead popped into his mind, him leaning back into his seat with a smug grin as he thought of the girl who wanted nothing to do with him.

"what house do you think she'll be in?" peter asked with slight curiosity as he chomped on his pumpkin pasty, there hadn't been any new interesting students at the school since lucius malfoy due to his families rich history.

"she has to be a gryffindor. just anything but a slytherin" sirius spat as he stuffed his chin into the curve of his hand not wanting her to be apart of the house he despised. the house which made his family hate him, their oldest son.

𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 with mary macdonald and lily evans, her two best friends excluding amos. the girls had disappeared after they arrived at hogwarts. the hufflepuff seventh year prefect led her to the 5th years not before striking up a conversation with the girl, his charm being evident in his tone as he tried to convince her to go on a date with him.

the girl knew he wouldn't be the last guy to ask her out, or even girl. she had been exposed to the limelight since she was a child and knew how people worked. they would date people with fame and a name for themselves to grow in the business. 

as she took a seat at the hufflepuff table, word spread quite rapidly that it was angelica gold that had made it to hogwarts. she had nearly every ones eyes on her, people that knew of muggle tv shows or magazines. she did receive a few glares from some noticeable slytherins, which she guessed was from her stop cruelty to house elves campaigns she had done. 

the feast begun and she tucked in, no one bothering to speak to her, all of them being too scared to approach her. she ate peacefully not worrying about the others around her. she felt her soul leave her body when a hand clamped itself onto her shoulder.

"angie?" a deep voice asked as a body plopped itself beside her. the boy had certainly changed since his third year. he was her only friend in hufflepuff. amos diggory had grown a considerable amount, his hair also longer and fluffier, his jaw sharpened, teeth straighter and whiter and his body gaining some muscle.

"amos!" she exclaimed happily as she felt the boy pull her into a hug, the girl returning it as she snuck her head into his neck letting out a relieved breath that he was still in the school and remembered her. amos diggory could never forget angelica goldhorn though.

"when i read your letter i thought i was being tricked and some crazy fan of yours wanted to get a right laugh" the boy said honestly as an exasperated laugh left his throat. he looked the girl over seeing how she's grown over the years.

she had grown into her body, her hair even wilder than before, face had lost its baby fat, eyes outlined by muggle makeup, lips fuller and eyes brighter. there was a certain spark inside her that wasn't there before. she looked alive.

"don't think my stalkers know about my magical friends" the girl offered with an amused smirk at the claim. sure she had maybe two stalkers in her life but the most they found out about her was her grandparents address. those were long court cases which ended in restraining orders.

"its good to have you back" amos said once more as he gave her a side hug and a kiss on the cheek. he knew he couldn't stay for too long so he bid her a farewell and got up making his way over to his 7th year friends who instantly began badgering him with questions about the girl.

"𝐬𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 of some muggle fashion magazine like a million times. i always see them around my mothers room" peter said in a slightly excited tone as he kept taking glances at the girl. 

"she's on this muggle programme called the ups and down its quite a good show" james pointed out as he took a spoon of his pudding into his mouth. of course he knew who she was. she was too beautiful to ignore and too talented to not show up on nearly every tv channel.

"she's even prettier in person" peter said dreamily as he took a bite of his chocolate pudding, he seemed to be in his own little daydream.

"i'm showing her to our classes tomorrow" remus spoke up with a slight grin, knowing the boys  would be jealous.

"if you don't set me up with her moony" sirius said threateningly as he gave a pointed glare towards remus. sirius was a hormonal teenage boy with looks that worked in his benefit, it'd be no surprise he wanted to "get to know" angelica gold.

"she just got out of a relationship with a prince. you don't stand a chance" mary macdonald chuckled from beside peter as she removed herself from the conversation with lily and marlene turning to the boys.

mary macdonald knew angelica gold better than she knew herself, she had grown up with her and stayed by her side when she started to gain fame. friends till the end they told themselves. mary macdonald was a sight for sore eyes, golden brown hair, long eyelashes which framed her brown eyes, plump pink lips. 

"how do you know that?" sirius asked as he quickly turned to mary recognising her voice, his eyes widening at how she changed during the summer break. she'd gotten much hotter and sirius eyes couldn't stop from trailing over her body.

"my eyes are up here black. and she's my bestfriend, obviously i'd know" mary said with an eye roll not meaning for it to come out cocky but it happening anyway, being friends with a star does that.

sirius and james' eyes widened at the statement knowing mary macdoanld never lied. this meaning that she must've known the girl from back home for them to be friends. they were honestly daft not to remember her from when she went to hogwarts, too occupied with older girls.

"do you guys honestly not remember?" lily now asked as she joined into the conversation ignoring the lovey dovey eyes james was sending her way as she tucked herself into mary's side to avoid his gaze.

"remember what, evans?" sirius asked "spit it out" he said eager to find out what they didn't know. it may have come out rude but sirius knew lily would just shrug it off. they were friends, they may not have spoken much in public but they were friends.

"she used to go here until her second year. she was in our potions class for merlins sake!" lily said as she threw her arms slightly into the air annoyed they were that forgetful. angelica had been the most beautiful girl in their year for merlins sake.

sirius and james eyes widened again before they turnt to eachother as their eyes gleamed in recognition "angelic angelica!" they both said at the same time remembering the pretty 2nd year that nearly all of the boys had a crush on. even james for a while.

"but her last name was goldhorn..." james trailed of before a light bulb went of in his head "she changed her name" the boy said with a grin as though he found the cure for cancer.

"sometimes i wonder how you guys haven't been kicked out for your stupidity yet" mary said as she shook her head turning away back to the other gryffindor girls. sirius' eyes staying on her a while longer before finally turning back to his friends.

𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 once she stepped foot into the hufflepuff common rooms, loads of years below her hounded her for autographs and started asking her loads of questions. she didn't even get any quiet once she stepped foot into her shared dorm room, the girls began to badger her about all of the famous celebrities she was friends with. and even when she tried hiding out in amos' room all of his friends were around her like she was honey and they were the bees.

that's how she found herself in the  hogwarts kitchen calming down her anxiety by stuffing her face with a tub of chocolate ice cream that one of the kitchen elves, ranrey, fetched for her. the girls hair was in a high bun with a few loose curls falling out as she sat in plaid pyjamas bottoms that she stole from amos and one of her fathers shirts which was way too big for her. her feet were covered by fluffy socks considering she didn't want to make noise when walking the halls.

"hello master potter, would you like the usual?" ranreys voice rang out through the mostly empty kitchen, only angelica and a few elves were there. or so she thought.

"yes please, ranrey"  a slightly deep voice requested before she heard the little elves feet scuttle off and footsteps approaching the table she sat at. she didn't want to look up, she wanted to be alone. she didn't think coming back to hogwarts would be so different.

when she looked up to see who it was that interrupted the peacefulness the room once held, she came face to face with a boy she had seen once when leaving the great hall. he was much taller than her maybe being 6'2, with messy raven curls, bright blue eyes, a chiselled jawline and round glasses perched on his nose. he was dressed in a pair of sweatpants and a knitted jumper.

the boy halted his steps after coming face to face with the girl, his face reddening considering he didn't think he looked his best as she just diverted her eyes from his back to her ice cream not saying anything or bothering to look up at him again.

after the few seconds of silence became too much for james he opened his mouth and spoke three words which would change both their lives "you alright, goldie?" the boy asked springing a nickname on the girl making her look up with a raised eyebrow.

he certainly was confident she told herself, if only she knew how james' heart has risen at the eye contact. he didn't know what he was doing, sure he had experience with beautiful girls. he was james potter for merlins sake. but this was a supermodel, actress, everything that gave her a name. sirius was the ladies man, james was the one who didn't usually get involved with girls that had crushes on him.

"i'm just peachy, curls" she said with a large hint of sarcasm in her voice as she also gifted him a nickname, considering she didn't know his name and didn't intend on finding out.

"what's wrong?" james asked awkwardly as he hesitantly took a seat across from her. angelica didn't know what came over her in that moment but she couldn't stop the words from spilling out. she was overwhelmed and needed someone to talk to. so who was she to push the boy away.

"i've been at this school for what? 4 hours and its all "do you know this person?" "what movie will you be in next?" "can you get me a role?" she complained before groaning loudly and throwing her head back.

james didn't say anything as the girl continued her ranting, she had a real look of anger in her eyes and something else. maybe sadness. but he really couldn't tell with the way she was thrashing her head around. he admired her bright green eyes and the way her eyelashes made them stand out even more. her lips looked dry but still had a small shine to them and her cheeks grew noticeably bigger whenever she raised her voice. she reminded him of a fish he thought.

"like can i be left alone for a moment?" the girl asked as the boy finally snapped out of his staring. "you still there, curls?" she asked waving a hand in front of his face. he noticed crescent shapes in her palm and guessed she did that to herself, he doubted she even knew she did it.

"yes. and i have a name you know" the boy said gruffly before sticking his hand out "james potter" the boy introduced as she shook his hand. his hand was large and cold, his fingertips coarse and rough.

"angelica goldhorn" she introduced back as the boy nodded already knowing. "what house are you in? you're not a hufflepuff" the girl asked curiously as she looked at the little crack on his glasses. he could've easily fixed that with magic.

"im a gryffindor" the boy said smugly as he ran a had through his already messy hair, a smirk hitting his face. she knew gryffindors to be cocky, excluding mary and lily.

"ah, a gryffindor" she said in recognition making the boy give her a curious look on what she meant by the statement. although, before he could ask ranrey ran over with an armful of choco-balls in a bowl.

"thank you, ranrey" james thanked as he stood up and took the food a from the small house elf, him cradling the bowl in his arm like it was a baby.

"well i'll be going now. it was nice to meet you, goldie" the boy said with a nod and a small smile before beginning his way out, patting himself on the back for being able to have a conversation with her without stuttering.

"my names angelica!" she called out with her eyebrows scrunched  as she was confused on why he was still calling her that, she had told him her name.

"i know!" he replied back, her being able to identify the playful tone he used. and for the first time that day angelica goldhorn felt herself smile. and it was all because of a boy with messy raven locks and a bowl of chocolate.
