Popular, freshly lip-glossed lips and a wardrobe taken straight out of a 90's movie. Jackie Lahey was sort of a celebrity at Beacon Hills High. While Lydia Martin surrounded herself with fake people and a mean attitude, Jackie Lahey had friends and a smile that could get her out of a million speeding tickets. Of course, she would never get a speeding ticket because she had her best friend drive her to school every morning. Stiles Stilinski was the driver in his small friend group. Jackie, Stiles, and Scott had been friends since, well, forever, and even when she gained her popularity, she never left them. They were going to survive high school together just as they promised one another in elementary school.

Until Jackie Lahey was pushed onto the back burner of Stiles and Scott's adventures.

Jackie didn't know when it happened, but she was suddenly left behind in the dust. Scott got a girlfriend, Stiles
kept secrets, and the two didn't even bother telling Jackie about Scott's wolf issue. They wanted to protect her, she wasn't there the night Scott got bit, and the two boys didn't want to drag Jackie into their problems. They just didn't realize that Scott's problem would take over most of their school and free time.

"When did we stop being friends?" She asked. The two boys didn't have an answer and she walked away with tears forming in her eyes.

At home, Jackie Lahey was not the popular girl she was at school. Her Dad hated her, she looked too much like her Mother, and Isaac didn't talk to her. As a matter of fact; Jackie couldn't remember the last time she and Isaac had an actual conversation with one another. The two siblings were too busy avoiding the eggshells that were laid upon their own home. The home they were supposed to feel safe in. Jackie had no one in her house who cared about her and she believed Stiles and Scott cared for her, but that clearly wasn't true. For once, Jackie Lahey truly felt alone, and rewatching Sixteen Candles wasn't going to help.

The dance was supposed to help her. Jackie had to beg and beg for permission to go. She wanted to dance and have sore feet, but during the dance something strange happened. She slow danced with her ex? best friend and he tried to explain, but Lydia had gone off and disappeared.

Jacqueline Lahey would never forget what she witnessed up at the lacrosse field. She saw a monster that was only supposed to exist in stories.

It wasn't even two days later when all hell broke loose. Her little brother getting arrested for their Dad's murder, the secret she so desperately tried to hide being talked about throughout Beacon Hills, and being forced into a dangerous situation with werewolves and hunters.

Jackie Lahey suddenly realized why Scott and Stiles tried to hide the truth from her.
