"Death."

Kali's heart raced as Mr. Anderson pulled a gun, her body tensed and trembling as she huddled in her seat, hoping for the danger to pass. Mr. Anderson's voice was low and urgent as he instructed her to stay down, a warning to not draw attention to herself.

Despite the danger and Mr. Anderson's warning, Kali couldn't resist the urge to peek up towards the window, seeking a glimpse of the unfolding events. Through the tinted glass, she caught sight of a black van with gunfire emanating from its open window, the danger evident even from her limited perspective.

"What did I just say!?" Mr. Anderson pushed me back down in the seat.

The deafening sound of gunshots echoed through the space, filling the air with a cacophony of noise that reverberated painfully in Kali's ears. Fear and discomfort clawed at Kali, her body frozen in terror as her mind desperately sought an escape from the overwhelming situation. The desire for the terrifying ordeal to end was the only coherent thought that crossed her panicked mind.

In a matter of seconds, the van that had been involved in the shootout bolted away at a reckless speed, evading further confrontation. However, Mr. Anderson, refusing to give up the fight, quickly regained his composure and jumped back into the driver's seat. His determination to confront the van was evident as he accelerated in pursuit, his anger fueling his actions.

"Mr Anderson What are you  doing!?" Kali asked

"Following the fucking van." He stated

"No! Pull the car over right now!" Kali yelled.

Mr. Anderson's hands gripped the steering wheel firmly, but the anger etched onto his face was impossible to miss. As he glanced in Kali's direction, ready to respond, his gaze suddenly shifted towards something outside the car, a loud honk.

The car swerved violently into a nearby truck, the collision causing a heart-wrenching crash. The sudden impact shattered the momentary peace.

Kali's eyes fluttered open, her senses gradually coming into focus as she found herself in a hospital bed surrounded by a team of concerned medical professionals. The beeping sounds of her heart rate monitor filled the air.

"what the hell?" Kali said groaning and sitting up.

Kali's confusion intensified as a doctor gently guided her back into a reclining position on the hospital bed. "You need to lay down," the doctor stated, his voice both reassuring and firm. "Your injuries are still fresh, and you must rest to ensure a proper recovery."

"The fuck you mean injured!?" Kali jerked her head back in confusion.

Kali's heart sank further as the doctor explained the extent of her injuries. "You got in a car crash and suffered from severe blood loss," he informed her, his tone reflecting the serious nature of her condition. "You need time to recover, and your body has been through a lot." The weight of the situation sunk deeper into her, the consequences of the car crash now fully evident.

"Shit," Kali said to herself

"Where is he?"

Kali's gaze shifted to Mr. Anderson, who was seated in a chair, seemingly asleep. She couldn't help but notice the stark contrast between her own battered and bruised state and his seemingly unscathed one. Questions raced through her mind as she tried to make sense of the situation.

"Okay Doctor sir, may I have some privacy please?"

"Of course."

I watched the doctor leave the room and it was my time to sit back up in the bed. "You almost fucking killed me, are you crazy!?" Kali yelled at Mr. Anderson who was surprisingly fake sleeping.

Mr. Anderson sat up in his chair, his watchful eyes fixed on Kali as she continued to express her anger and frustration. His gaze remained unwavering, his expression unchanging as he patiently bore witness to her outburst.

"All because you wanted to chase a fucking van!"

Before Mr. Anderson could finish his attempt at explanation, Kali's voice cut through. Her words fierce and resolute. "Save it," she interjected.

Mr. Anderson stood up, his frustration evident in his body language. With a deep sigh, he ran his tattooed hand through his wavy jet-black hair. "Torres." He called out.

Kali attempted to maintain her composure, but the intensity of Mr. Anderson's gaze made it impossible to ignore As his eyes bore into hers, she felt compelled to respond. "What!?" She replied

"I didn't crash the car," Mr. Anderson emphasized, his voice filled with conviction. "Someone else did it on purpose."

"And there's something else that you need to know Torres, there was another message from A."

Mr. Anderson's revelation shocked Kali even further. As he pulled out his phone and showed her a picture from the car crash, Kali's eyes widened in disbelief. The sight of a letter on the truck spooked Kali

I'm going to kill you kali and the people that you love, starting with your mother first- A

"My mom?!" Kali said shocked.

"This is getting out of hand, who could be sending these messages?! What did I do to deserve them?" I said.

As Mr. Anderson walked closer to Kali, his eyes unwavering in their focus on her, he gently caressed her cheek with a featherlight touch. Kali felt a strange mixture of vulnerability and confusion as she locked eyes with him, the intimacy of the moment leaving her momentarily speechless.

"I'm not letting nothing happen to you." he stated

"If anything I'm coming with you."

"You're injured Kali."

"It's my mom that we're talking about here, I'm coming."

As Kali struggled to get out of the hospital bed, attempting to dress herself independently, her phone suddenly chimed with a notification. Distracted by the sound, she quickly glanced at it, noticing that it was a message from Jae. Her thoughts momentarily shifted as she wondered what Jae needed at this moment.

haven't spoken with her in weeks, what do she want.

Kali's attention was momentarily redirected as she received a message from Jae, asking if she had heard from Dylan. The mention of Dylan's absence and lack of communication stirred a sense of worry and intrigue within Kali.

She quickly tapped a reply, informing Jae that she hadn't heard from him and expressing the same concern about his absence and lack of response to messages.

Kali put her phone away, but as she did someone was knocking from outside her hospital room.
"Hold on I'm changing!" She yelled loud enough for them to hear.

But then the doctor opened the door without knocking. She quickly covered herself, feeling annoyance at the intrusion. "I said I'm getting dressed," she repeated, her voice laced with frustration and a hint of defensiveness.

The doctor stood before Kali, holding up a pair of doctor scissors, repeating the cryptic phrase, "She made me do it."

The Doctor stabbed himself in the head, his body slumping down before Kali eyes.
