AURORA'S POV

In the dimly lit room, me and my  best friend both got  lost in the rhythms of our favorite songs, "Ralph Maccio was so hot in The karate kid too bad Hess like what?60?"Eden spoke flicking through the magazine her bouncing matching the rhythm of the music.

Suddenly, my  mother's voice pierced through the music,"Girls keep it down I've got some.....guests"she said with a suspicion pause.

You might know my mum her name is Medusa.yes the so called monster but she's a great mother really!But it's just some arrogant gods like to say she's evil when I meant gods I meant goddess meaning Athena.My mother worshipped her and this is all the that is she gets!?But I do have powers I can control people and make them do stuff I also can tell if people are lying and can make them tell the truth.
My best friend,Eden has telekinesis I don't know who her mother or any of her parents she doesn't either but mum says she rescued her but I don't know from what.

Curiosity ignited, me and Eden tiptoed towards the source of the voices, their hearts pounding with excitement.

"You're concerned I would hold a grudge against you simply because you are a daughter of Athena? You shouldn't be. We're not our parents after all. And you and I might have more in common than you think. Please, sit and eat."My mother said gesturing then to sit down as they sat with their heads still down one of them spoke.

"So you're not a monster, what are you then and alien?"the girl with black hair spoke.I let out a small chuckle

As I peered  through the crack of the door, we watched as figures moved about in the living room. One of them caught sight of the us , but before they could react, she swiftly vanished into the shadows.Me and Eden exchanged nervous glances, but curiosity pushed us further.

"I would call myself a.Survivor.And from what I've seen it seems you a little more than that.Seeing as that fury outside is so afraid of you."she motioned to the window where the fury was impatiently standing.

My mother began speaking again "she knows what I think of her and bullies like her. I don't like bullies. When one shows up on my doorstep, they end up spending a lot more time there than they planned for. The gift the gods gave me is that I cannot be bullied anymore."

I was curious what she meant staying for longer than they planned because she told me she would never use her "gift" to harm anybody or so at least i thought?

"What does she mean I thought she never used it on anyone."Eden whispered keep on it as low as possible be still making it for only me to hear.

"What my mother did to you wasn't a gift, it was a curse."the girl spoke who I'm now guessing is a child of Athena.

"You are loyal to your mother."

"Yes."

"You stand by her?"

"Always."

" You love her?"My mother started asking some more questions like this was a case in Brooklyn 99.

"Of course, I do." said the girl starting off hesitant.

"And so did I."

"Do you know the story of how I came to be this way?"

"I do."

"Do you?"questioning her even more.

"Athena was everything to me. I worshipped her, I prayed to her. I made offerings... She never answered. Not even an omen to suggest she appreciated my love."She bowed her head down in "sadness".

"That isn't what happened. My mother is just, always."the girl starts stumbling her words not knowing what to say next because it was true she did worship her but some times i feel like she saved her other than punished...

"The gods want you to believe that, that they are infallible. But they only want what all bullies want. They want us to blame ourselves for their own shortcomings."

Moments later

Venturing into the basement, we stumbled upon a scene straight out of a nightmare. Statues of people, frozen in terror, adorned the room, sending shivers down their spines. Hiding behind boxes, I watched in horror as the children from upstairs appeared, their faces contorted with malice.

"We are not our parents, until we choose to be."My mother shouted making sure the children could hear.As I cuddled up to my puppy Lucky and my best friend I stare in horror of what is happening.

"You two have chosen."

"A daughter of a self-righteous mother, who chose self-righteousness for herself. And you, you could have shown your father what it means to stand up for someone you love."

"You could choose to save your mother instead of doing your father's bidding. If neither of you will help teach these lessons, perhaps you should be the lessons."

I heard her footsteps approaching to the boy as he held a sharp sword I immediately knew what was going to happen.

"Stand up. Let's have a look at you."
"When I ship your statues to Olympus... maybe that will get my point across even better."

With a sinking feeling in my chest, I rose to my feet, my heart pounding with fear and uncertainty."mum turn around!watch out!"

And then, without warning, the sound of a sword slicing through the air shattered the silence.I scream a cry of terror.

In a daze, I watched as the children, now wielding my mother's severed head, turned their gaze towards me and my best friends.Tears streamed down my face as the reality of the nightmare unfolded before my eyes. Amidst the chaos, as I pulled my best friend into a hug and I cry into her shirt

"Holy shit."the boy with blonde curls said holding the sword which killed my mother."I never knew that Medusa had two daughters"

"We aren't sisters."Eden stated while I'm still crying in her arms."but she was like a mother to me." I heard Eden mutter under her breath.

"Shit what do we do now I mean we just killed her mother and now we are going to get killed oh this was such a shit idea we never should have came in here oh I new this was a bad idea you guys just never listen!"the boy with goat legs starters rambling and it really irritated me because he cant shut up.

"Okay let's just take a moment to think about this."the girl with black braids starts panicking but it was quite obvious she tried to hide it.

I observe as the goat boy settles beside me on one of the boxes."sorry about your mum I mean it must be hard to lose someone you love."he stated beginning to apologize. I reassure him, "It's fine. She wasn't exactly the friendliest either I didn't even know she did this to such innocent people."I look around at the statues

Curious, I inquire about his identity."who are you guys and why are you here."

He remains tight-lipped. With a flicker of green in my eyes, I compel him to spill the truth.
"Okay fine so I'm Grover.thats annabeth and the boy there is Percy.His mother got killed by a Minotaur or so we thought.With evidence we found out she was alive and Percy got claimed by poseidon at camp and he had to go on a quest and he chose me and annabeth then I smelt some hamburgers so we followed the smell and I think you know were this leads to..."the boy Grover blurted out in one breath.

"h-how?"

"powers."

"right"

"Grover!No telling information to the enemy."the curly headed boy Percy said.

"they're kinda nice."

Kinda?

"It's probably her stupid powers."the daughter of Athena implied.

"Wouldn't be surprised."Percy scoffed.

"Like father like son."I mumbled loud enough for him to hear as he lifted his head with a scowl on his face.

"What?Im pretty sure you haven't met him."he says confused as fuck.

"I've heard stories."I said looking down.

"What from your psycho mother of yours?Let me remind you she said she would help us ok our quest next thing you know she tries to kill us!"He shouted at the top of his lungs trying to defend his father as much as he can.

"Funny because you all say how a great god he is but never Poseidon's little p-"I start saying before getting cut off by Grover.

"Please stop fighting"he said loud but gently.

But we didn't listen instead it got worse.

"We would have been far off our quest if you and your weird friend had gotten involved!"he said pointing to Eden who was now holding lucky in her arms.

"Atleast I don't look like a high school dropout unlike somebody."Eden argued back eyeing Percy.

"Yeah don't start disrespecting my owners like that!"
Lucky spoke which surprised the three kids.

"It talks"annabeth said taken back at what just happened.

"yes I'm a dog that talks and what?"lucky started jumping at the girl with his tiny paws.

"And my name is lucky not "it"."he says

"Well isn't that great a daughter of a monster,her annoying bestfriend and her talking pet!"

I noticed Eden starting to get angry.

Eden then raised her hand at Percy making him push backwards into a piece of metal scrap.

Now all 5 of us turned to look at Eden surprised.

"Well I'll be damned since when were you a superhero so glad you did that though he was starting to get annoying."lucky chuckled jumping up and down.

Eden gasp on shock.
"I never knew I could do that.wait oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to"Eden apologised still processing what had just happened.

Talk about a switch up.

LATER

As my mother's head was used to turn Alecto into stone, the weight of the horror descended upon her, leaving her trembling in fear and sorrow, forever haunted by the nightmarish events of that fateful evening.

"What is it?"I ask Grover as he touches a statue.

"Uncle Ferdinand."Grover began to say.

"Oh, no. Grover, I'm so sorry."I apologise while putting my hand on his shoulder.

"This is as far as he got on his quest. We aren't even to Trenton. But look at him. He's not like the others, he... He doesn't look afraid."Grover said still looking at the statue.

"If it makes you feel any better it makes me kinda glad my she died you know I love her and all but at least less people will get hurt you know?"I continued trying to make me feel better."

Grover chuckled softly then said. "You used the, um, you used the head to get rid of Alecto?"

"Yeah."

"Good. That was the right move. Uh, we probably should get going. It'll be dark soon."

"But what are we gonna do with the head? I just took down a Fury with it, and I wasn't even trying."

"We can't just leave it for someone to find. Leave the hat on and bury it in the basement, that oughta keep it safe."I say entering the conversation.

"Why should we listen to what you say?"Percy asked me.

"I mean it's her mother she should be able to do what she wants."Grover reasoned.

"I like this guy!"Lucky barked.

"Now, can we talk about the bigger issue here?"

"What bigger issue?

"You could have saved your mother."

"That's what she said to you, like you discussed it already."

"Is your mother still alive?"Annabeth wondered.

"She's with Hades. But I appreciate your concern."Percy replied

"You have anything to know about this."annabeth spoke gesturing to Eden.

Eden looked up confused then turned to me.

"I don't think she knows yet."Grover whispered to Annabeth

"Guys, just please stop."Grover said gently

"Oh, I'm concerned. What are you actually doing on this quest? And why did I have to hear about this from Medusa?"annabeth argued with Percy

"Okay, while we're at it,"

"You should have accepted my offer?" Percy recalls what happened earlier.

"Enough! The hat was a gift from her mother. It's the only thing she's ever possessed that connects them. That oughta matter to you."Grover pointed out finally stopping the banter(yes I'm British)

Okay, but how are we gonna make sure this thing is safe?

"I'm not up to that yet. And you, really? His mom's alive. Can you imagine how confusing that must be for him? Feeling like he may have to choose between the fate of the world and the fate of the only person who's ever cared about him?"

"Why are you talking like this?"Annabeth asks

"Because all day I've been trying to keep this quest on track without upsetting either of you."Grover tales a deep breath."But maybe things need to get a little upsetting before they move forward. She asked you a question back in the woods, and you never really answered."

"What are you so afraid of?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You heard me."

"I don't know."

"Grover: I think you do. You've been fighting with her, you've been fighting with me."

"Because the Oracle said one of you would betray me. Okay? "You shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend, and you shall fail to save what matters most in the end." That's the rest of what she said to me."

"I chose her because I couldn't imagine we'd ever be friends. And I chose you because I thought if I can count on anyone to be on my side, no matter what, it was you. And now, I'm feeling so alone.
I don't know what to think or who to trust."

"I didn't mean it that way."He apologised

"Alecto offered to help our quest if I gave you up to her."Annabeth said.

"What did you say?"

"I killed her sister."

"Medusa offered to help me save my mom if I turned on the two of you."

"And what'd you say?"

"I cut off her head."Percy turned to look at me with tears in my eyes."sorry about that."

"Apology not accepted."lucky stated as Eden covered tho dog's mouth.

"Shh your ruining the moment."Eden shushed the puppy.

"You didn't choose to be demigods. We didn't choose this quest. But we can decide that as long as the three of us are together, none of us are gonna be alone. And if we can't do that, we might as well just head back to camp right now. 'Cause we won't make it."Grover inclined

"I think I've got a better idea what to do with this."Percy declared.

"Hermes Express, she ships these things all over. Some of it goes to Olympus."Percy explained showing them the book.

"Percy, you can't ship Medusa's head to Olympus."
Annabeth disagreed.

"Why not?"percy asked.

"Because the gods won't like it. At all"The girl argued.

"Why? That's what you do with dangerous stuff. Like batteries, you just send 'em back where they came from."

"This isn't life back at Yancy Percy things are different here."Grover responded to Percy's ridiculous idea.

"Okay. Look, this is a bad idea.They will see this as impertinent."

"I am impertinent."

"Yes, but we're not."

"Really, very not." Grover added worried.

"Look. Medusa tried to derail our quest. She's got serious beef with your mom. When you look at it that way, this seems kinda like tribute or something, doesn't it? And besides... .. this way, a part of your mom's still with us."Percy said as her removed the hat.

"Wait before you do anything."I say I start writing down 'FUCK YOU ATHENA' on the price of paper saying from the daughter of Medusa.

"Thank you."Annabeth said gesturing to Percy ignoring what I wrote down.

"So this isn't exactly what I meant. By choosing each other. There are actual dangers involved here that cannot be..."Grover said before changing the subject.

"You're gonna sing the song, aren't you? Okay."As Percy slowly started clapping.

♪ Oh, golly ♪ ♪ The road's gettin' bumpy ♪

"Whatever."

The elevator bell rings.

HERME'S POV

"You guys are not gonna believe this and Athena wait until you see what Medusa's daughter said to you. I exclaimed holding the package of Medusa's head.

A/N: yess chapter 1 is done and don't we love a good enemies to lovers.This took so late because I had to go out but I managed to get it donee.W grover for being the only one out of the 3 to check on Aurora.Also who has more sass Percy or lucky!?
