SPIRIT AND WHITE THUNDER soon found Spirit's herd. Esperanza welcomed them with open hooves (?). "So you're the white Thunder," she said to thunder, who nodded. "Yes, I am," she said, bowing her head "oh, don't bow for me, sweetie. You're the lead mare now," Esperanza said, and all the horses turned for thunder. The white horse glanced at her mate, who looked at her with love and affection "it's true what they say. As my mate, you've become the second leader of this herd," he said and rubbed his muzzle against her shoulder, then her chin.

Thunder let him. Then the rest of the herd did the same, welcoming her into the pack. "Come, I can show you something," Spirit said to her as he turned, and the herd went back to grazing. Thunder smiled and trotted after him. The buckskin leads her upon a grassy hill overlooking the pack. "This is where I watch over my herd. And now it's ours," he says and lays his head against her chin. "It's ours now..." she echoed, making Spirit smile. "Yes, and we will lead this herd for the rest of our lives. Maybe even continue our legacy if you want" at these words, Spirit visibly blushed, and white thunder chuckled at her mate.

She then stepped away from him, smiling, "I have to think, my love." She said, then took off in a gallop. She circled the herd, making them neigh in happiness at her. Spirit stood upon his hill, looking at her running aorund with love in his eyes. Thunder slowed her gallop to a trot and found her way upon the grassy hill beside her mate. "Shall we run across the prairie, my love?" She asked, and Sprit nickered a laugh nudging her with his hip. "Yes, we shall, my star" white thunder smiled at her new nickname and reared neighing proudly.

Spirit did the same, and soon the whole herd joined in. Once her hooves landed on the ground again, Thunder smiled fondly. So this is my new family. My new herd. The one I will and shall protect no matter what. And with my dear Spirit by my side, nothing shall hinder nor crumble us.

She then took off into gallop Spirit coming right after. Over them screeched the eagle and soared down, nipping at their manes "welcome back!" He called as he lifted higher. Thunder and Spirit neighed in answer and ran faster as they chanced the eagle.

Two wild horses, reunited and now stronger.
