"This is a nightmare"

Gwen was not having a good day, all her friends were going to have an incredible field trip while she was stuck in school, she just wished she was with them, maybe her day would be as bad as it was.

She texted Peter, Ned and MJ a few times during class, wrote a test and ate her lunch, nothing too exciting for her. Going to the MoMA would have been a dream come true for the young woman. But it was only a dream of hers.

Her physics teacher, Mr. Geller, was talking about Quantum Physics, when suddenly a boy next to Gwen vanished. A scream was heard and on the chair he was sitting on was dust. Gwen felt danger near, and saw how her teacher also dissolved into dust, his glasses falling to the ground, breaking. More than half of her class was gone, and her heart started to rise. She didn't know what to do.

She started to run like all the other students and teachers. But her destination was somewhere else. She run to an ally, put out her web shooters, Peter had given her, and swung towards the avengers facility, knowing that the people beneath her wouldn't notice her, because everyone was running for their lives.

When she entered the facility, she noticed lots of piles of dust. Gwen backed away, her lungs closing, making it difficult for her to breath.

"FRIDAY?", her voice was shaking.

"Hello Mrs. Stacy.", Gwen was relived to hear her voice, but her heart still was very fast.

"What happened?"

"Thanos, a creature form the planet Titan, attacked earth. Many ey-Avengers assembled in Wakanda, but Mr. Stark, Mr. Parker and Dr. Strange were in space. But I don't know exactly what happened, because the connection to Mr. Stark was unstable. But Mrs. Potts and some of the team are here now.", FRIDAY said, and Gwen's eyes filled with tears. Behind her the doors to the elevator opened, and Pepper Potts exited. Gwen turned around.

"Gwen, thank god your okay. Come with me. The teams waiting.", Pepper took the hand of the broken girl, leading her to the still opened elevator.

As the door closed, Gwen broke down, tears were streaming out of her eyes, making her eyesight blurry. Pepper hugged the young girl, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Mrs. Potts, what happened?", she asked, but a sob escaped her.

The exited the elevator, when it arrived at its destination, and entered the room. On a lab table was the body of Vision. All the life it had, was gone, leaving the colors of its body in a grey tone. Bruce Banner was examining its body, but all he could do was nothing. He slammed his fist on the lab table.

"Hey stop it, Bruce. That won't help us.", Natasha said. Gwen noticed how the red head was now blond, but her face was covered in shock and tears.

"I try everything to bring him back, Nat. But, I can't. We lost him. We lost everyone, and it's my fault. If I juts could turn to Hulk, then maybe, we'd had a chance to win. To prevent it from happening. They all would be here, happy. And we would celebrate.", Bruce said, sitting down on a chair next to him. His hands grabbed his hand, making him look on his lab. Small tears were falling down. He then left them to help Rhodey.

"Gwen, sit. We need to discuss what we should do.", Natasha said, helping the still crying girl sit down.

Captain America was looking at a Hologramm Screen, the number of dead People all over the world increased fast. Natasha stood next to him, arms crossed. The young girl sitting on the couch watched them carefully.

"This is a nightmare.", Steve said.

"I've had better nightmares.", the ex spy whispered, her eyes full of sorrow.

Couple of seconds behind them, Rhodey entered the room. The Captain and the ex spy turned around. Gwen also turned around.

"So that thing... just... stopped doing what ever the hell it was doing.", he told them, and the two avengers looked at each other before following their Teammate to an other room. Gwen following them.

In the room was a strange thing. It was square with many buttons, and had a small narrow screen. It was attached to some kind of prop.

"What have we got?", Natasha asked, as she entered the room.

"Whatever Signal was sent, it finally crapped out.", Bruce updated them.

"I thought we bypassed the battery?", Steve said, a confused looks on his face.

"Oh we did, it's still plugged in. It just... just stopped.", explained Rhodey, husband crossed.

Gwen watched them, not daring to say anything. She was confused. What happened? And what was that thing?

"Reboot it, and send the signal again.", Steve demanded.

"But we don't even know what this is.", Bruce said, showing with his hand to the pager.

"Fury did. Can you just do it please?", Natasha said. "You tell me, the second you get a signal. I want to know who is on the other end of that thing.", with that Natasha turned around, facing a stranger.

The stranger had long blond hair and wore a blue and red and golden suit. Even Gwen was shocked seeing her, because her Spider sense didn't tell her about another living being in this room.

"Where's Fury?", the woman asked, a sad look on her face.

"Who are you?", Steve asked, after everyone calmed down.

"The name's Carol Danvers. I am Captain Marvel.", she said, unimpressed by the heroes in front of her. "Now to my question again. Where's Fury? He send me a message."

"He's gone, too.", Gwen finally spoke.

Everyone turned to her, Carol was narrowing her eyes, examining the girl in front of her. The heroes went back to the bigger room, and sat down. Carol told them how she met Fury and what she had been doing all these twenty years.

"Thanos did exactly what he said he was going to do. He wiped out fifty percent of all living creatures."
