38 | The Finale

"I know right! I keep eating them. I'ma have to make sure they save me some to take home." Trinity dipped another tailless shrimp into a small container of cocktail sauce, talking to one of her older cousins.

Amari stood behind her and repeatedly kissed her cheeks, playing with the mesh veil that fell over her layered 26inch bundles. She paid him no mind as she continued the conversation with her cousin, knowing that he was in his own little world that revolved around her.

"Trinity, look this way." The videographer called to her, and an instant smile graced her face as she focused on the big camera and blew a kiss at it.

"Babyyyy, issa wife! Happy Wedding Day!" She held up her hand to show off the two rings on her finger because she refused to take off her engagement ring. Amari smiled from behind her, lowering himself to fix the way her white dress was on the ground. He was obsessed with the way it looked on her.

"Mines." He then tilted her head back for a quick kiss, making her smile grow wider.

"Boy it literally happened two days ago and you still ain't stopped watching them videos." Trinity laughed, coming out of the bathroom of their beachfront hotel room with a towel wrapped around her body.

"Man. Y'all look cute as hell. Wassup Fat ma?" Amari completely disregarded what she said when he seen Amaria wrapped up in a towel as well with a bonnet over her hair that matched her mom's. He literally adored them.

"Let me see." Trinity gave him Amaria and took his iPad from him to look at the videos from their wedding that was uploaded to his Files app. There were millions of them and he kept rewatching all of them. He wished he could go back and relive that day again.

Amari and Trinity were officially married as of two days ago and currently on their honeymoon in Cozumel, Mexico. The wedding that took place this past weekend was like a dream come true for the both of them. Their wedding planner really brought their visions to life and executed it to perfection; from the food to all of the decor at the venue.

It was still so surreal to them both, but mostly to Trinity. She was really a wife and a mother out here! She literally could not believe that this was her life now. Her man really came back into her life and settled her all the way down. She was so grateful to mean so much to someone that they'd want to marry her and have a baby with her.

Of course Amari couldn't believe it either. When he approached her in his grandfather's hospital room almost two years ago, he didn't think it would ever get this far. He thought they'd probably sleep around and date for a little bit before moving on—but boy was he wrong. She was locked in with him for life and he didn't plan to ever let up on her.

Now, here they were, out of the country with their eight month old daughter. She was the best thing that ever happened to them and life was so much more exciting with her in it. Everything they did was for her and neither of them could wait to raise her with her little brother that was currently baking with three more months to go.

Amari was eternally thankful for Trinity for carrying both of them. She was going to help him give their children a healthy two parent household that he never got to have. That's all he'd ever wanted. He hoped he could make them as proud as they already made him.

"You looked so good baby. You need to start wearing suits more often." Trinity swiped through some of the photos as she stood in front of him, feeling him rubbing on her round stomach.

"You looked good. Finna make you turn yo' dress to yo' nightgown. Need to see you in it everyday." His hand then traveled to her butt, and she playfully rolled her eyes at how he always wanted to cop a feel.

"Right?! I loved it. I thought I was gon' be so ugly 'cause I'm so big and stuff. But it fit so perfectly and I'm glad my baby got to be there..even if he wasn't, you know..there." She chuckled, sitting the iPad down on the bed.

Amari frowned as he watched her walk onto the private patio that overlooked the beach without inviting him to come sit with her. After rubbing baby lotion and lightly powdering Amaria, he carried her with him to go outside with Trinity. He literally stayed up her behind. If you saw Trinity somewhere, trust, he was never too far.

Her head turned when she felt his eyes on her, as always. He was always staring at her. He looked at her with so much admiration in his eyes; it was like you could tell from his gaze how much he loved her. She loved how obsessed he was—and it was even better that he'd literally been like this since day one.

Their favorite saying was 'you're not tired of me yet?', and somehow, neither of them were, even after spending every single minute of every single day together for the last year and a half. They were still madly in love with each other.

"You a wife?" Amari randomly asked her, and he grinned as she casually held up her hand to show off the rocks on her finger.

"Is. Hello." She blew a kiss in his direction, making him laugh.

"I been waiting for this since—damn. It's been a minute." He paused as he actually had to think about it.

"What? Us to get married?" She asked.

"Nah. For me to be happy. Like foreal happy. No faking.. just happy as hell. Feel like I'm at peace. I never knew what that felt like. I been on defense mode my whole life and never thought I'd get out of that. It's shit like that..man. That's one of the things you don't even realize you did for me. Folks be thinking I'm obsessed with you for no reason when you really my peace."

"Amari I've literally been crying all week. Can we please notttt? I love you so much." She playfully pouted at him, making his smile return.

"I'm serious though. I be needing to tell you 'cause this ain't nothin' to be taken lightly. You really changed my life ma. I owe you everything man. That shit be blowing my mind every damn day." He shook his head in pure disbelief. "I wish we would've got together sooner."

"I tell my sisters that all the time. But..I'm starting to realize that it was perfect timing when we met again. God knew what He was doing. We had to wait for a reason."

"What you think the reason is?" He asked.

"I'm not sure. Maybe we were both in the wrong headspace. I don't think much about it though 'cause we still ended up together, and we have plenty of time to spend together. The few years we were apart means nothing." She chuckled, waving it off.

If Amari had to speak for himself, he could admit that he definitely was in the wrong headspace. Hell, he'd been in the wrong headspace for his entire life and never thought he'd see the day that it changed. He'd always planned to end up either dead or in jail because that was the path destined for people like him. He was so glad and so lucky that God gave him another chance.

All the prayers came through at the perfect time. He was proud of himself for never losing his faith even when it felt like God wasn't listening to him. The man above knew exactly what He was doing and what He had in store for Amari. He was a living testimony, literally.

"There is no place I'd rather be than here with you. Do you know that?" Trinity turned her head to look at him again.

"You ain't tired of me yet?" He smirked.

"Never ever. I love you so much." She said with a soft smile on her face.

"I love you more today than I did yesterday. You know how special you gotta be to make me feel like that?" He leaned over to attack her face with kisses, earning the sound of his favorite laughter.

"The most special thing out the Southside." He gave her one more kiss, and Trinity wrapped her arms around him and their daughter in a warm hug. She loved her little family so much.
