⠀⠀christopher nolan is someone you can always go to for a good movie. he never fails to move and impress me. this is one of my favourite films of all time. it's extremely underrated. not enough people talk about this film in terms of nolan's filmography. these are the movies that made him, along with memento and batman begins. it holds an absolutely stellar cast with no weak points. as the movie says watch closely, this movie wants you to know that everything may be not what it seems. this movie is about magicians, and nolan has always been aware of the audience. he treats us so well and i will always respect him so much for that.

⠀⠀the movie's flavour is impeccable. if you like period pieces then you'll love this film. it gives you a lot of insight into what magicians did back in the day before more developed technology, and the fact that magicians dedicated themselves entirely to the trade.

⠀⠀this movie is such a treat, and it's serious which is what i personally like in a film.

⠀⠀one of my favourite scenes is hugh jackman's monologue about the end goal of all tricks ...

⠀⠀to see the smile on their faces.
