"So, are you nervous?" Makena asked, already knowing the answer as Riri paced back in forth in her living room. Shuri chuckled and hit Kena's shoulder playfully for messing with Riri. "Aye, leave the girl alone." Shuri playfully warned. Makena grinned as she turned her head to look at Shuri with a playful smirk, "Make me baby."
"Can y'all not flirt in front of me when I'm freakin' out please?" Riri deadpanned. Makena and Shuri pursed their lips as they awkwardly nodded. "See shit like this makes me glad my parents are dead," Makena muttered, going to light a joint but Riri snatched it from her lips. "No smoking! Bruh, her dad gon' kill me if he smells weed on me," Riri said, throwing it away.
Makena gasped, "What the fuck. That was my good shit." Kena frowned and Shuri patted her back sympathetically. "Do we even know if he knows what weed is?" Shuri questioned, Makena pointed at her in agreement, still upset about the weed.
"It doesn't matter. This motherfucker is gon' find anything to use against me. He hates me, it's a known fact. I can't fuck this up." Riri said, grabbing a water from Kena's fridge. Shuri leaned her head on Kena's shoulder as they both watched Riri pace the room and check her phone every few seconds. "Does Soul even know how to use a phone?" Makena asked.
"Yes, I taught her." Riri mumbled, but it wasn't very convincing. Makena hummed and not a second later did Shuri get a message from her Kimoyo Beads. "Who's that baby?" Kena asked, raising a brow as Shuri clicked on it.
"It's Soul. She said she's on her way and that she would've texted you but doesn't know how to turn on the little box thing." Shuri read out loud and Makena chuckled at what Soul described as a phone. Riri took a breath as she smoothed down her dress, checking for any wrinkles in which there was none but she was cautious anyway.
"Hey, how are you so calm? You're going to be meeting them as well, ya know?" Shuri questioned, looking at Makena who was pretty calm and chill. "To be fair, I'm not the one who's gon' be dealin' with a crazy father in law." Makena shrugged. Shuri nodded slightly seeing her point.
"You are not helping!" Riri exclaimed.
"My bad."
Shuri placed her hand on Kena's thigh and leaned her head on her shoulder with a yawn. "You tired baby?" Makena put her arm around Shuri and pulled her closer. "Just a little." Shuri mumbled in response.
"This is still so weird to see," Riri looked at the couple with an exasperated expression. "Hey, your girl is a fish. Let me live with my Wakandan Princess in peace," Makena replied calmly.
"She is not a fish!" Riri defended. Shuri smiled in awe, loving how Riri defended Soul knowing Soul hated when people called her a fish.
"Who called me a fish?" Soul asked as she shut the door after quietly entering. "Baby!" Riri ran over and practically tackled Soul with an embrace. Soul caught her balance as she hugged Riri back. "Hi. You look beautiful," Soul complimented, looking Riri up and down with a smile.
"Thanks baby. But is it appropriate? I feel like it's not." Riri said, rubbing her hands anxiously. "Hey, hey," Soul took Riri's hands, stopping her from picking at her fingers, "You look absolutely stunning. You're perfect. Slow down, and just chill out. He's going to love you, I promise."
"Okay, okay I just gotta chill. You right." Riri took a breath and Soul pressed a kiss to her head.
"As much as I'm lovin' this lil show, can we go now?" Kena spoke up, Shuri nodding tiredly in agreement. "Oh yeah, of course. Okoye and Attuma are in the jet waiting." Soul said and Riri's eyes widened. "Bae, what?! You said it was just gon' be Okoye. I gotta meet your godfather? Are you kidding me?" Riri panicked and Soul held onto her shoulders to stop her from pacing.
"Relax, it's gonna be fine. He's really nice." Soul reassured but Riri wasn't convinced. "Aight, fine."
"Bast, let's go." Shuri said, taking Kena's hand and pushing past the couple.
Getting into the jet, Soul walked up the ramp, letting Ri hold on tightly to her arm as she was still internally freaking out. "This is gonna be an entertaining trip," Makena mumbled to Shuri who chuckled and wrapped an arm around her waist.
Soul grimaced as the first thing they noticed was Okoye and Attuma making out in the jet, still having yet to notice their presence. "You couldn't wait 'till you got home? And how are you breathing without your mask?" Soul scolded, causing both of them to jump and pull away from each other.
"I installed something in the jet to help him breathe so he doesn't need the mask for right now." Shuri imput. Soul sighed and shook her head, "I still don't understand how this works, but whatever."
"Who's the human girl?" Attuma pointed at Makena, causing her to raise her brows, still taken back by the fact that he was literally blue and huge. "Shuri's girlfriend," Soul answered. Shuri and Maksna glanced at each other, still very confused by what they were saying. Shuri only knew a little bit of Mayan but they talked really fast so she barely got a word they said.
"I thought they weren't dating," Okoye said, recalling how defensive Shuri had gotten about it. "I don't even know anymore." Soul sighed hopelessly. There was no telling what their relationship was but it was...something.
"And who's this?" Attuma gestured to Riri who looked at Soul for translation. "Be nice," Okoye warned, nudging Attuma who smiled down at her and nodded, agreeing to behave.
"This is Riri, my girlfriend. So be nice please." Soul smiled, her hand on Riri's lower back. Riri smiled nervously and waved, "Hi, sir. I'm Riri Williams, the same girl you tried to murder on the bridge a few months ago." Riri cursed in her mind wondering what drove her to say that.
Meanwhile, Shuri and Makena sat down against the wall watching the interactions whilst trying their best to hold their laugher.
"Ah, I remember you. I'm Attuma, it's good to finally meet you. Lina never shuts up about you," Attuma said, chuckling at Soul's flushed face. "That's good to know," Riri smiled, knowing she was gonna use this against Soul in the future.
"Okay, now that everyone is familiar with each other. Let's get going." Soul said, breaking the silence. Okoye nodded and shut the door and sat in the seat, beginning to drive to their location for Namora's wedding.

"I'm tellin' you, if you learned how to fight, then you'd be way better at that super hero shit." Makena advised. Riri shook her head already knowing Kena was gonna try to convince her to train with her. "See, if I'm finna learn from anyone, it's gon' be from Soul cause you is crazy," Riri shot back.
"Yeah, you could do that but that's stupid. Training with your partner isn't good cause you distracted all the time. I guarantee you and Soul couldn't train for three minutes without jumpin' each other's bones." Makena argued, making a very good point.
"You sound as though you have experience," Soul said.
"Cause I do." Kena shrugged and Shuri smiled cheerily knowing she was talking about her. "I swear it's like impossible for this girl to keep her hands off my ass," Makena said gesturing to Shuri's hand that was actually on Makena's ass.
"She does make a good point, Riri. You could benefit from some training." Okoye imput, leaning on Attuma's chest as she had put the jet on autopilot halfway to their destination. "Okay fine, I'll consider it." Riri gave in and Soul let out a small happy cheer.
"I just realized how random this group actually is," Riri mumbled, looking at everyone. Who knew a Wakandan and Talokanil would be together after previously trying to kill each other? And a Black Widow with the Black Panther, also after trying to kill each other. Plus the Mermaid Princess of Talokan and Ironheart, after the mermaid also attempted to kill her. Wow.
"This is actually really common where I'm from. My mom and dad attempted to kill each other once too. So did Namora and Selya and now they're getting married." Soul shrugged like it was a normal occurrence, and it was, to her at least.
"So you're parents are like the original enemies to lovers? That's cute," Makena said. Soul smiled at that, loving when people said nice things about her parents.
"Location has been reached. Landing, in three...two, one." Griot informed them, landing the jet on the sand and letting down the ramp. Attuma placed his mask back on as he stood up. He and Okoye walked out first, both greeting a very well deserved happy Namora and her soon to be wife, Selya. Makena and Shuri were next, going to greet the brides. Lastly was a nervous Riri and bubbly Soulina.
Soul let go of Riri's hand and ran to Namora, tackling her into a excited hug. Namora and Soul fell into the sand by the impact but held happy laughs as they hugged each other. Namora's hair was wild and free unlike how she usually had the tight ponytail with talokan headpieces and such. She knew that was courtesy of Selya who loved Namora's hair down.
"You're gonna kill my bride, Lina," Selya playfully picked up Soulina off of Namora as if she weighted nothing. "Don't tickle me! No!" Soul exclaimed, trying to get out of Selya's arms. Selya laughed and let go of Soul, but pulled her into a hug with a smile. "Thank you for coming," Selya pressed a kiss to Soulina's head. Soul smiled, her heart filled with happiness, "I wouldn't miss it for anything."
"No hug for your father?" Soulina turned around, grinning as she was faced with Namor who held a fake frown on his face. Soul laughed before running into his arms, he grinned as lifted her up. "How's my sweet little seashell been? I feel like we haven't seen each other in forever." K'uk'ulkan said, holding her a bit longer before setting her back down in the sand as she chuckled.
"It's only been three weeks, papa." Soul deadpanned. Namor rolled his eyes, "Exactly. It's been forever In ch'ujuk waal." Soul shook her head and playfully punched his stomach. Namor groaned dramatically, falling into the sand as he pretended to be hurt. "Help me, my daughter wants to eat me," Namor joked in Aquan. Soul laughed at his dramatics and kneeled down on the sand next to him.
"So, are you done pretending like she doesn't exist?" Soul pursed her lips, her brows hitched in question. Namor sighed and shook his head, "Give me one more second." He mumbled, closing his eyes for a few seconds before opening them with a heavy sigh. "Okay, fine. Call her over," Namor agreed.
"Ri, yakunaj, c'mere!" Soulina waved over from where Riri was chatting with Shuri and Kena, probably asking for advice of trying to control her panic. Namor sighed at the name Soul had for Riri, it made it feel real and he hated that. He felt as though his daughter was finally leaving him and that crushed him. Maybe it was why he was so protective of her all those years.
Riri made her way over, a nervous expression on her face but she plastered a smile on anyways. Soul stood up, taking K'uk'ulkan's hand and pulling him up as well. "Papa, this is my girlfriend, Riri. Ri, this is my father, K'uk'ulkan, aka Namor." Soul introduced, nudging K'uk'ulkan in the ribs when he didn't say anything.
"Oh, uh hello. It's nice to properly meet you, Riri. I apologize for what happened last time we seen each other." Namor spoke. Soul smiled, giving his hand a thankful squeeze. "It's great properly meetin' you as well, sir. And it's all good, that's in the past." Riri replied, extending her hand that he couldn't help but glance down in confusion at.
"You shake it, papa. It's how humans greet each other." Soul said, nudging Namor. "Oh right." He mustered up a smile and shook her hand, careful not to hurt her.
Soul suddenly let out a squeal when Attuma picked her up and threw her over his shoulder. Attuma ran down the beach as Selya chased him, attempting to save Soulina who was laughing uncontrollably. "Does this happen often?" Riri asked Namor who had been watching them with an amused smile.
"It's been a weekly occurrence since she was a baby. Most of the time he ends up tossing her into the water," Namor said, crossing his arms across his chest, watching the scene unfold.
Riri chuckled as she watched beside him, chuckling when Soul used her powers to make the ocean water drag Attuma in it. But Attuma grabbed onto her leg, dragging her in with him. "Stupid fishstick! No!" Attuma pulled her underwater, causing her tail to form and rip her clothes in the process.
"Oh my god, is she okay?" Riri went to head towards the water in concern but Namor put a hand on her shoulder, effectively stopping her. "You forget she's a mermaid?" Namor raised a brow. "Ohhh, righttt."
Soulina came back to the surface at the same time as Attuma and hit him across the head with her tail. She laughed as she swam away but he quickly caught up to her, grabbing her by her tail and dragging her back. Attuma lifted her up as everyone looked at the pair in amusement. "I caught dinner!" Attuma joked, getting laughs from the Talokanils.
"What did he say?" Riri asked.
"He says, he caught dinner." Namor chuckled, shaking his head in amusement.
Soulina hit Attuma with her tail once more, causing him to drop her back into the water. "Ugh you stupid sharkhead dummy!" Soul insulted, splashing water at him. "What does that even mean?!" Attuma gaped, feigning offense.
"You don't deserve to know, bâtonnet de!" Soulina laughed at his reaction and swam back towards the beach sand. She turned her tail back into her legs and walked out of the water, laughing at him when she sent her pet shark Bembe to chase him.
Selya took Soul's hand, "Come with me, I made you a dress." Selya ordered. "I'll be right back," Soul said to Riri as Selya dragged her away to get dressed.
"Bembe, enough! Leave him alone!" Namora clapped her hands, getting Bembe to back off of Attuma so he could get out of the water and get dressed.
"Are they always this chaotic?" Kena asked Okoye, who had been around the family long enough to know how they could be. "Please, this is nothing. One time, Attuma challenged Soul to a shark race when she said hers was faster." Okoye scoffed, chuckling at the time.
"And I'm guessing, she was right?" Shuri asked in amusement. "Yes, and she was also right when she said Bembe had sharper teeth." Okoye added. Makena raised her brows in amusement, "No way. Bembe bit him, huh?" Kena laughed seeing her reaction.
"Yes and he acted like a big baby the entire night," Okoye shook her head with a small smile. "Yeah, but you love it," Attuma walked over, pressing a kiss to her head. He went to put his arm around her but she shoved him away. "Aye, you are not ruining my dress. Go get changed. Hurry up, the ceremony starts soon." Okoye said.
Attuma threw his head back dramatically and she rolled her eyes as Namora dragged him off to get changed into something more wedding appropriate.
"They seem to be getting along," Makena commented, pointing towards Namor and Riri. Namor was introducing Riri to the others, translating for her and making sure she felt welcome. "That's a first," Shuri mumbled.
About an hour later, the ceremony was starting and everyone sat down in their respective seats. Three Talokanils sung a song with their beautiful siren voices, but obviously made sure they weren't effecting Makena, Shuri, Okoye and Riri. Selya never liked traditional stuff, and Namora just wanted to be married so Selya had everything done just they way she liked it. She was even the one to invite Shuri as Shuri had spared K'uk'ulkan so she felt it was only right. And she liked Shuri's vibes.
Selya walked down the isle, her custom talokan wedding dress dragging over the rich ocean sand. She had a bouquet of flowers in her hands that Soulina insisted her to hold so she didn't look awkward. Selya smiled as she looked at her fiancé, butterflies in her tummy and love in her heart as they made eye contact almost like the first time they looked at each other. Selya handed the flowers to Soul who smiled as she took them.

Selya and Namora both removed each other's masks and dropped them on the sand. Namora grinned as she pulled her wife in for a kiss as everyone cheered and clapped for them.
"Can you translate for me?" Riri asked Okoye. Instead, Okoye handed Riri a Kimoyo Bead that had the entire speech translated on a hologram. "Therefore in the honesty and sincerity of what you have said and done here today and by the power vested in me by you, it is my honor and delight to declare you married together in life...for life, wife and wife. Now you may seal those vows with a kiss." Riri read the last of it to herself and pursed her lips, pretty impressed that Namor had remembered all that.
"Thank you," Riri handed Okoye the Kimoyo Bead back and waited for Soul to come back over.
Everyone minus, Shuri, Kena, Riri, Okoye, Selya, Namor, Attuma, Namora and Soulina had left as requested. Selya stood on the sand, and held the bouquet in her hands, ready to throw it as Riri instructed. "Everyone ready?!" Selya asked, struggling to speak the English language but they all understood what she meant.
Selya threw the bouquet back and Attuma grinned as he shoved Soul out of the way and caught the bouquet. "Ha!" Attuma cheered, and Soul stuck her tongue out at him. "Kexi' a ahogues ta yéetel leti'ob!" Soul shouted, glaring at Attuma who rolled his eyes at her behavior. (Translation: I hope you choke on them)
"I can't tell if she meant it or not," Makena whispered into Shuri's ear while she sat down in the sand. "Me neither."
Attuma turned to Okoye and kneeled before her in a dramatic manner. He presented the flowers as of it was a ring and she raised a brow but was smiling in amusement anyways. "Aceptarás a loolo'obo', in reina?" Attuma asked, a charming smile on his lips through his mask. "I'm not sure, but they are quite pretty...." Okoye pursed her lips, taking the bouquet from his hands. (Translation: Will you accept these flowers, my queen?)
"Ay! You should've said yes!" Attuma picked her up on his shoulder as she let out a squeal. Attuma ran towards the ocean water, "Not my dress-!" Okoye couldn't do much as Attuma pulled her into the ocean. Okoye screeched at the coldness and held onto Attuma tightly.
"Hey, where's Riri?" Soul looked around not seeing her or her father anywhere.
"K'uk'ulkan took her on a walk, he wanted to speak with her privately." Namora informed, braiding her wife's hair.
"He ain't gon' kill her right?" Kena spoke up, getting a hit on the shoulder from Shuri. "Sorry, bad timing." Kena mumbled, laying back down and Shuri rested her head on Kena's chest.
As Riri and Namor walked down the beach, the crashing waves of the ocean waters filling the silence.
Namor sighed, trying to find the right words for what he wanted to say.
"I respect that you wish to leave our first meeting in the past, but I don't think we can ever be okay with each other, at least I can't, without getting you to understand why I did what I did. So, with that being said, I wish to show you Talokan and invite you into our home and explore and learn from our culture. I think it will help you understand what I had, and I have, to protect."
Riri couldn't fight the smile the appeared as she looked up at Namor. "I would be honored to see your city."
Namor returned the smile, "Great. And I actually have a question for you."
Riri nodded, implying she was down to answer it. "Do you love my daughter?" Namor asked, turning to look at the scientist.
Riri blinked out of surprise, not expecting that question. She didn't really know what to say especially considering she hasn't even told Soulina herself. "Uhh, it's tough to say. I haven't really thought about that much." Riri mumbled, looking down in thought.
"If you do, it should be an easy question." Namor said. Riri looked at him, raising a brow at what she thought he was implying. "But, it can be a tough question when you're scared." Namor said.
Riri let out a sigh, obviously filled with conflict. "And what do you think I'm scared of?"
"Of love. You're scared of loving my daughter, and you're scared of saying it out loud because then that makes it real. And when reality hits, those thoughts hit you. The thoughts of heartbreak, of hurt, of pain. The thoughts of possibly losing her and having idea how you continue on with life if you did, and God forbid that happens." Namor continued his walk and Riri immediately took his words into thought as she caught up to him.
"How do you know all that?" Riri asked.
Namor chuckled lowly, "Because I had those same thoughts about my wife." His eyes drifted off at the ocean as he thought about his wife and what she would've thought about Riri. He could almost guarantee that Monsella would love Riri.
"So how did you, overcome it? What made you realize you loved her?" Riri asked, desperate for any kind of advice that could help. She obviously wanted Soul to know how she really felt but she also didn't wanna freeze if Soul said it first and she couldn't say it back.
"It was different with Monsella. She wasn't used to other cultures when we met so she didn't really understand what the word 'love' meant. Her culture would say 'i see you' in replacement of 'i love you' and that's always the way it's been for her. So when she told me she seen me, I didn't understand what she meant. When she explained it with the most sweetest smile and understanding eyes, I knew my love for her was greater than my fears. And yours are too, you just need to see it for yourself." Namor explained, the smile of admiration on his face as he spoke of his Monsella.
"And when you are ready to confess that to my daughter, I hope you mean it." Namor added, glancing down at Riri who listened intently.
"Also, a little bit advice, don't say 'i love you' because she will have no idea how you mean it. Myself and her mother taught Soulina that 'i love you' is simply platonic and a form of friendly love. And the words 'i see you' is a form of strong and passionate love from a significant other. It's very important that you know this. Lina doesn't know anything different from this."
Riri nodded appreciatively at the advice. "Let's head back, Lina's probably worried." Namor said, turning around as Riri followed.
When they arrived back, it was a lot darker but the lanterns hung on the trees provided them light. Shuri and Makena were playing football with Selya as Namora had watched, not seeing the idea of kicking a ball around as fun. Meanwhile Attuma, Soulina and Okoye were in the water attempting to surf but mostly failing at it.
Soul climbed on the surfboard and slowly stood up on it. Soul cheered for herself at the small accomplishment. But that was all until Attuma swam under her board and tipped it over so she fell back into the water. "Stupid salmon head!" Soul grumbled.
"Hey, you said you wouldn't call me that anymore!" Attuma gaped in offense, splashing water on her and Okoye laughed from where she sat on her surfboard. "Cry about it for all I care." Soul huffed, crossing her arms over her chest with a pout.
"Hey! Be nice! Both of you!" Namor scolded. Attuma and Soul both rolled their eyes simultaneously. "He started it!" Soul argued. Riri chuckled and Soul finally took notice of her and smiled. "In yakunaj! Are you okay?? He didn't scare you, right?" Soul asked, swimming back towards the beach. Namor rolled his eyes at her implication of him scaring Riri.
"Nah baby, it's all good." Riri reassured. Soulina smiled in relief and ran over, going for a hug but Riri dodged it. "No thank you, you're all wet." Riri said. Soul frowned, "I'm a mermaid, Ri. You should expect this." Soul grinned and pulled Riri into a hug anyways, Riri groaned at her dress getting wet but already knew it would get ruined anyways so that made her feel a bit better about it.
Namor chuckled at their interaction and walked over to Namora. As he got to her, Selya ran over and grabbed his arm. "Come play with us. Come on!" Selya pushed, trying to pull him along. Namor shook his head stubbornly, "No, I'm okay."
"Don't be such a baby. Come on! One game!" Soul pushed, taking his other arm and pulling him along. K'uk'ulkan sighed and finally gave in. He pulled off his coat and set it on the branch of a tree before joining them. "I call Selya on my team!" Kena said, grabbing Selya's hand and she smiled.
Attuma and Okoye made their way over, deciding to join the game. "Mora! In yakunaj! Come on!" Selya took Namora's hands and pulled her up shaking her head no. But ultimately, Selya won and Namora was added to the game on Attuma's team. It was obviously Attuma's team vs Soulina's team.
Okoye and Namora both played goal, Namora being on Attuma's team and Okoye being on Soul's. Soul's team consisting of Soul, Namor, Riri, Shuri and Okoye. As Attuma's team consisted of Attuma, Makena, Namora, and Selya.
Three games later, Soul ran past Attuma, kicking the ball with her she scored the winning shot. Namor cheered for his daughter, picking her up with a grin. "I WON! HAHAHAHAHA!! IN YOUR FACE FISHSTICK!" Soul flipped off Attuma with an evil laugh.
"Who taught her how to use the middle finger?!"
