Sheltered most of her life due to illness, Ophelia is greatly naïve and easy to trust. Despite this outward innocence, though, the young girl is also very intelligent, for her parents wouldn't dare neglect her schooling, even if she couldn't attend to it in public. Being a child, however, Ophelia would much rather spend her time playing in her own little fantasy world than remember random facts about various subjects such as history and (especially) math. She doesn't complain, though: not when doing so could upset her parents, according to Ms. Ishii.

With a heart disorder that acts up especially during physical activity, Hoshino Ophelia has been locked up in her parents' manor since the day she was born to keep her away from the prying eyes of the world. Whether this decision be for her sake or for the sake of her parents' reputation is up to debate, but one thing is clear: Ophelia feels just like all of those princesses from her caretaker's story books, locked up in a tower and hoping for the day someone─Prince Charming or not─will save her.
