she sighed and lucked up her phone, smiling when she was norman - her online friend whom of which she'd known since she was fifteen. he was from america, and she knew norman wasn't his real name as he'd mentioned that before but she had no idea what it actually was.

and that was okay, because he had her down as her self-appointed nickname - allie.

Strange, april thought as she set down her phone. it felt like her and norman were growing far apart. which, was not the worst thing due to the fact of people can grow apart. but lately it felt as though he was latching off of her, as though he didn't need her.

which was fair, because april had only started to text norman when she had a crush on him due to how attractive she found him. and of course, like any other teenage boy, he had lapped up that attention.

a couple months ago, she had lost that attraction and each time they spoke instead of it being exciting it was just... boring. april got more of a rush talking to hope, or chatting up hot people who lived near her. attention from norman used to be her drug, but it appears that had fizzled out as she grew up and didn't need him anymore.

april had gotten pretty, and so norman's compliments and affections fell on deaf ears. she now knew that was beautiful, she didn't need him to tell her. she now could confidently say she was fully herself, and that was the most magical thing. except for him, it most likely was the worst thing, but that wasn't what mattered.
