THE THREE WOMEN had already changed into their white suits and even braided their hair by the time they arrived to their destination. Natasha sat on the pilot seat along with (Y/N), while Yelena stayed in the back of the helicopter.
Their plan was simple, getting Alexei, the man who had sent them back to the Red Room when they were young, out of prison for him to lead them to the location of the Red Room.
"Today's your lucky day, Alexei," Natasha's voice echoed through the helicopter.
(Y/N) showed Natasha the tablet with the map that marked the location of the earpiece they had just sent to Alexei.
"Move to the door on the south wall," Natasha commanded.
Natasha and (Y/N) kept piloting the helicopter up to their destination, which was a prison in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing more than snow and mountains.
"Go left," Natasha continued, glancing over to the map in the tablet. "Just don't make a scene."
"You made a scene, didn't you?" Natasha questioned Alexei over the earpiece.
"What now?" (Y/N) heard Alexei ask.
"We're gettin' you outta here." Natasha replied.
With small difficulty, (Y/N) and Natasha lowered the helicopter for Alexei to spot it above him, but before the helicopter could get any lower, soldiers and prisoners ran outside.
"Go to the upper level." Natasha said. "Move your ass, super soldier."
Alexei tried to climb up the side of a wall, but before he could make it to the top, a soldier sent a shock through his body with an electric tool, causing Alexei to fall back to the ground.
"He's never going to make it," Yelena sighed, coming up in the middle of Natasha and (Y/N).
"Get me closer," Natasha told (Y/N).
(Y/N) looked at her in disbelief.
"You got a better idea?"
(Y/N) didn't reply as Natasha left her seat to slide open the door and grabbing a hold of a rope that hanged from the side of the helicopter.
With Yelena's help, (Y/N) lowered the helicopter, trying to get the closest they could for Natasha to have a safe landing. Once they lowered it enough, Natasha swung from the rope and landed on the catwalk safely.
Yelena rolled her eyes. "Such a poser."
"Did you see how she stared into the distance?" (Y/N) asked her.
"Yes! I did." Yelena replied.
Before they could react, the soldiers started shooting over at them, trying to knock the helicopter off the air. Yelena and (Y/N) tried the best they could to keep the helicopter steady in the air as they were loosing altitude, noticing the way the tail rotor almost hit Natasha.
"Whoo!" Yelena exclaimed, looking at Natasha over the side of her window.
"Sorry!" (Y/N) yelled.
"What are you doing? Are you kidding me?" Natasha shouted at them. "Back up!"
Yelena raised a thumbs-up. "We're all doing a really good job."
(Y/N) and Yelena kept the helicopter steady, trying to raise it higher in the air. But the soldiers didn't give up though, they continued firing at the helicopter, trying to hit the main rotor.
"Okay. Enough of this." Yelena said, rising from her seat.
"What are you doing?" (Y/N) questioned.
"Nothing." Yelena answered as she grabbed a medium sized gun and aimed it at the tower where all the soldiers were firing from.
Yelena fired and the tower exploded, smoke and fire coming from the top of it as the soldiers stared at it in shock. Without another word, Yelena returned to her seat, seeing the way (Y/N) looked at her in amusement.
"Whoa," Yelena murmured all of the sudden.
"What?" (Y/N) asked.
Yelena looked over to the mountains, pointing to the way the snow was falling rapidly from them, which meant one thing. Avalanche.
"This would be a cool way to die," Yelena said, earning a smack in the arm by (Y/N).
"Get us outta here!" Natasha yelled.
Yelena and (Y/N) nodded and raised the helicopter higher in the air, leading it over to where Natasha was standing.
Natasha grabbed a hold of the rope as Yelena and (Y/N) dodged an explosion coming their way, trying hard to lead the helicopter over to the place where Alexei was waiting.
Once the helicopter was low enough for Natasha to get close to him, she grabbed onto his arm and pulled him with her as (Y/N) and Yelena got the helicopter as higher as they could.
"Ha!" Yelena exclaimed once she noticed they succeeded.
"Yes!" (Y/N) cried, her hand colliding with Yelena's in a victory high-five.
Natasha groaned as she got inside the helicopter, trying to catch her breath before she stepped into the cockpit, grabbing an aviation headset. Alexei stepped in after her before he turned around so his head was sticking out from the door.
"Farewell, douchebags." Alexei yelled, and with that, he shut the door close. "Oh, that was exciting."
"Oh, I'm so proud of you girls." he said, noticing how he didn't receive any reply, he continued. "Oh, you can't hear me, huh?"
Alexei grabbed the last pair of the aviation headsets and placed it on his head, as he smiled.
"Wow." he said.
Yelena didn't waste any more time to punch him right in the face, earning a groan from Alexei as he rubbed his nose.
"Okay," Alexei sighed. "Why the aggression, huh? Is it your time of the month?"
"Can I kill him? Please?" (Y/N) asked Natasha, who shook her head.
"I don't get my period, dipshit. I don't have a uterus." Yelena answered.
"Or ovaries." Natasha added.
"Yeah. That's what happens when the Red Room gives you an involuntary hysterectomy. They kind of just go in and they rip out all of your reproductive organs." Yelena explained.
"They just get right in there and they chop them all away. Everything out, so you can't have babies."
"Okay, okay. Okay! Okay!" Alexei interrupted. "You don't have to get so clinical and nasty."
"Oh, well, I was about to talk about fallopian tubes, but okay."
Natasha and (Y/N) shared a smirk.
"No," Alexei said. "It means so much to me that you came back for me."
"No. No. You're gonna tell us how to get to the Red Room." Natasha said.
"Huh," Alexei replied. "Whoa, look at you two, huh? All business."
"Trust me, this isn't pleasure." Natasha responded.
"Little Natasha and (Y/N), all indoctrinated into the Western agenda." Alexei continued.
"We chose to go west to become Avengers. 'Cause they treated us like family." (Y/N) replied.
"Really? Family?" Alexei asked. "Well, where are they now? Where is that family now?"
"Tell me where the Red Room is," Natasha insisted.
"I have no idea," Alexei said. "Okay?"
Natasha removed her headset and threw Alexei's to the ground as she moved to the back of the helicopter and sat across from him.
"Come on," Natasha snapped. "You and Dreykov were like. . ."
"Dreykov?" Alexei exclaimed.
"Yeah."
"General Dreykov, my friend, huh?" he fumed. "Gives me glory. Soviet Union's first and only super soldier. I could have been more famous than Captain America."
Natasha rolled her eyes but spared a glance over at (Y/N) after hearing that name, wanting to see if she had heard him.
"Then he buries me in Ohio on that stupid mission." Alexei continued.
(Y/N) and Yelena turned around to lock eyes with him as he kept on complaining.
"Three years! So tedious, boring me to tears."
Alexei noticed the looks he was receiving from the two women and shrugged it off, "No offense, huh?"
"Then puts me in prison for the rest of my life. Why, huh?" Alexei questioned. "Why? Why would he put me in. . .You know why? 'Cause maybe I want to talk about the withering of the state. Or maybe I don't like his hair or something and I say something casually about that. Maybe I want the Party to feel actually like a party instead of this sourpuss organization. But instead, no."
(Y/N) shared an annoyed glance with Yelena, wishing that he would stop talking.
"He puts me in prison for the rest of my life. He just runs off and hides, huh? I'm not even the one who, uh, you know. . .I'm not the one who killed his daughter."
"Okay, now can I kill him?" (Y/N) asked.
"Or can we throw him out the window?" Yelena cut in.
"I think we should wait till we get to a higher altitude." Natasha suggested.
"All right." Yelena and (Y/N) replied.
"Why not ask Melina where it is?" Alexei wondered.
"Wait, Mom Melina?" Yelena asked.
"We thought she was dead." Natasha confessed.
"You cannot kill a fox that swift." Alexei smirked.
"Ew." (Y/N) frowned.
"What?" Alexei said. "She was the scientist, the strategist. I was the muscle. She worked directly for Dreykov far more than I ever did."
"Wait. Are you telling me that Melina is working for the Red Room present day?" Natasha questioned.
"She works remotely outside of St. Petersburg."
"Uh. . ." Yelena sighed. "I don't think we have enough fuel for St. Petersburg."
"No, we're good. We'll make it." Alexei reassured.
"Okay."
———————————————
THEY DIDN'T MAKE IT. Halfway through the journey, the fuel ran out, causing the helicopter to crash in a field of lavender flowers in the middle of nowhere.
"You should've brought the Avengers' super jet." Alexei said.
(Y/N) and Natasha rolled their eyes and walked away from him, Yelena falling into step with them.
"I swear, if I hear one more word from him, I will kick him in the face." Yelena snarled.
"No one is stopping you, go ahead." (Y/N) said.
"He's the worst," Natasha complained.
"(Y/N)," Alexei called as he ran up to catch up with them.
(Y/N) didn't pay attention to him and continued walking with Natasha and Yelena, trying her best to ignore his obnoxious voice.
"(Y/N), (Y/N)." Alexei continued. "Come here, I want to ask you something."
(Y/N) groaned but stopped walking, allowing Alexei to catch up with her. Natasha sent her a look full of pity before she walked ahead with Yelena.
"Come, it's important." Alexei said.
(Y/N) turned around to face him. "What?"
"Did he talk to you about me?" Alexei asked as they started walking together.
"What?" (Y/N) frowned.
"Did he talk to you about me? You know, trading war stories?"
"Who? What are you talking about?" (Y/N) questioned.
"Your boyfriend. Captain America." Alexei explained.
At his words, (Y/N) rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"My great adversary in this theater of geopolitical conflict. Not so much a nemesis. More like a contemporary, you know? Coequal. I always thought there was a great deal of mutual respect. . ."
"You haven't seen either one of us in 20 years and you're gonna ask me about you?" (Y/N) snapped.
Natasha and Yelena turned around at her words, noticing how (Y/N) was glaring at him in a way that you could even spot the smoke coming out of her ears.
"What is with this tension?" Alexei wondered, oblivious to the hatred they all had for him. "Did I do something wrong?"
"Is that a serious question?" Yelena asked.
"I only ever loved you girls. I did my best to make sure you would succeed to achieve your fullest potential and everything worked out."
"Everything worked out?" Natasha questioned.
"Yes. For you, yes."
(Y/N) shook her head in disbelief, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. The hatred she had for Alexei only grew every time he opened his mouth.
"We accomplished our mission in Ohio," Alexei continued. "Yelena, you went on to become the greatest child assassin the world has ever known. No one can match your efficiency, your ruthlessness."
"And (Y/N), Natasha, not just spies, not just toppling regimes, destroying empires from within, but you became Avengers." Alexei's voice was filled with pride.
"You three have killed so many people," he said. "Your ledgers must be dripping, just gushing red. I couldn't be more proud of you."
He pulled all three of them into a hug, pressing Yelena and (Y/N) close to him as Natasha was squished in between Alexei's arm and (Y/N)'s body.
Natasha managed to break free from his arms, glaring harshly at him as she pulled (Y/N) with her while Yelena got out of his grip, following behind the other two women.
