πππππ moved in last June. They were the most exciting news the south side have had in years. A rich family of city centipedes had slithered into town and oh boy, were people excited. Mostly the people who are more than willing to go to prison for stealing some shiny knick knacks from the Parker's porch.
There were three people living in the Parker residence.
Lenora, the beautiful, bitchy, annoying mother of two. Lenora is the type of woman to only hang out with people of high financial status, despite now living in the southern side of chicago.
Allen, the oblivious, stupid, artistic little Parker boy. Allen is the youngest and he's so ridiculously stupid that he almost got kidnapped because he was more than willing to get in a random guys van. And he would've been kidnapped, had it not been for a cop witnessing the Parker boy stepping into the van.
And last, but definitely least, Adelaide. She's so boring that not a single person actually bothers to learn a thing about her. She describes herself as 'simple,' which is basically just her way of calling herself boring.
Adelaide and Allen were raised well, to say the least. Lenora did a good job by herself, considering her ex husband, and the kids father, Benjamin, was an absent, deadbeat, alcoholic fuck who didn't care about anyone but himself.
Adie and Al are quite different, Al's a social kid, while Adie prefers to keep to herself. Adelaide is only really seen outside when she's going to school, writing in her journal, or going to her shitty job as a janitor at a shitty grocery store.
Adie doesn't make friends easily, due to her lack of social skills, but she has made a few friends, specifically Ian and Lip Gallagher. Most people see her as a quiet, smart, pretty girl who prefers not to do anything too complicated.
The girl is also quite content in keeping a tight schedule, she'd wake up, brush her teeth, sit on the porch and write in her journal, get ready for school, walk to school, walk home from school, eat dinner, do homework, read, and then get ready for bed. She never strayeds away from this schedule as it keeps her grounded and organized.
The family moved in across from another family. A family that is considerably more fucked up than the Parkers will ever be. The Gallaghers. The fucking Gallaghers.
Fiona, Lip, Ian, Debbie, Carl, and Liam. A family that's only acceptable parental figure is literally their sister. With an absent mother and an alcoholic father, these kids are bound to have issues, and they definitely do.
The two families are definitely different, but they get along, somewhat. Despite living across the road from the Gallaghers, Lenora tries her hardest to avoid them. Allen likes hanging out with Debbie and Carl, which explains why he's so dumb and Adelaide only really socializes with the eldest three.
Even with her lack of social skills, Adelaide enjoys being in the presence of the Gallagher gang, almost as much as they enjoy her presence, even if Adelaide has never tasted a drop of alcohol or smoked a cigarette or tried weed. A simple non criminal girl who enjoys spending time with the complicated criminal family across the street.
Adelaide sat on her front porch, cold and unbothered. Her chocolate brown hair tied in a messy, low bun. She sat with her journal on her lap, a pencil in her right hand. She writes in her journal every day, her thoughts, poetry, or whatever the fuck is going on in the Gallagher household.
"You're gonna freeze if you sit out here every single morning." Adelaide looked up from her journal and smiled at the curly haired boy smoking a cigarette across the street. She simply rolled her eyes and went back to her journal. The boy put out his cigarette and hopped down his steps, making his way over to the girl, who's still concentrated on her journal.
"Don't you have siblings to help with, Lip?" The girl asked, briefly looking up to Lip as he approached her. He shrugged, "Don't you have to be getting ready for school?" She shook her head and kept writing in her journal.
"I have a strict schedule to keep to, Philip. Journal first, then school preparations." She grinned, closing the book and looking up to the Gallagher. "Speaking of, I do indeed have to get ready." Adelaide smiled and stood up, turning around to go inside. "Hey, uh, wait here." She quickly shouted to Lip, who just patiently leaned up against her gate.
Adelaide opened her front door and walked into the kitchen, "Hey, mom, have you seen my wallet?" She leaned against the counter as Lenora began brewing a pot of coffee. "Last I saw it, it was on the table, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Allen took it." Her mom stated, not bothering to turn around to look at her daughter.
Adelaide left the kitchen and walked over to the dining room, instantly noticing the black, faux leather wallet in the center of the table, which surprisingly hadn't been stolen by her younger brother. She quickly grabbed her wallet off the table and ran back outside, where Lip was still waiting. She opened her wallet, took out a hundred dollars, and handed it to Lip. "Woah, wait, what's this for?" He asked, reluctantly taking the money.
She laughed and crossed her arms, trying to keep herself a bit warm before going back inside. "The tutoring. You said fifty for one session, but you tutored me twice, so thats a hundred." She grinned before turning around and walking back inside.
Lip grinned, shoving the money in his pocket and walking back to the loud ass house across the street, passing Allen, who ran out of the Gallagher house with a pair of scissors. "You better give those back, Al!" Carl screamed from inside.
"Allen, don't run with scissors!" Adelaide shouted, grabbing her brother by the arms and wrestling with him for the scissors, against the younger boys protest. Adelaide raised the scissors above her head and examined them. "Did you steal these from the Gallaghers again?" She asked Allen, he just looked up at his sister with fake guilt coating his eyes. Adie rolled her own and took the scissors with her up to her room, planning to give them to either Lip or Ian before they head to school.
The brunette walked into her room and sat down at her vanity, taking her hair down in a swift pull of the elastic. She brushed out her wavy hair and left it alone, opting for a simpler style for the day. She stood from her vanity and walked to her dresser, picking out something simple to wear.
Adelaide quickly ran downstairs with the Gallaghers scissors and her backpack, packing it with her lunch and textbooks. "Is your brother ready?" Lenora questioned her daughter as she latched her sons lunchbox. Adie shrugged as she continued packing her bag. Her mother sighed and threw her head back, before shouting for allen. The sudden shout startled Adelaide, who simply shot a glare to her mother.
"Coming!" Allen shouted from upstairs as Adelaide began packing Allens bag. A heavy object quickly spiralled down the staircase and stopped at the bottom with a thud, causing the two women in the kitchen to look at each other in shock before dropping the items in their hands and running to the staircase.
Adelaide and her mother looked down at the twelve year old boy lying on his back with a bloody and broken looking nose. Adelaide grabbed her brother by the hips and sat him down on the bottom step, examining his nose. "It's broken." She stated, turning to her mother who was pinching the bridge of her nose. "What, did you try skipping steps again?" Adie asked her brother rhetorically, he shrugged and wiped some of the blood off his nose.
Lenora placed her hand on her daughter's shoulder and released a sigh, "Go on to school, I'll deal with this." Adelaide nodded and grabbed her backpack and the scissors off the kitchen floor. She walked back to the staircase, which was directly in front the front door.
Adie slipped her shoes on and stared at her brother. She was clearly disappointed with him, who wouldn't be? He skipped a few steps and tripped down the damn stairs. "You need to stop spending so much time with Carl." She shook her head before leaving her house and walking across the street.
Adie knocked on the front door of the Gallagher house, which was quickly opened by a very exhausted looking Fiona. She smiled at Adie and stepped away from the doorway, allowing Adelaide to let herself in. "Lip, Ian, Adie's here, so hurry up." Fiona pointed at the older boys who were shoveling dry cornflakes down their throat. Fiona went back to making lunches and doing whatever as Adelaide placed the scissors down on the counter.
"Adie, theres blood on your hands. Why is there blood on your hands?" Fiona asked the girl, who had no idea of the blood that was on her fingers. Adelaide gasped and rushed to the sink to wash the blood off. Carl snorted and turned from his chair, watching the older girl wash blood off her hands.
"Who'd you kill?" The young boy joked. Everyone was watching the girl wash the blood off, as they definitely had not expected to see that. No one had any explanation as to why there would be blood on her hands, not a single explanation.
Lip stood from his chair and walked over to Adie, who was now drying her hands. "What the fuck did you do?" He asked, grabbing her hands. She nervously laughed and pulled her hands away to finish drying her hands on her skirt.
"Well, my idiotic brother fell down the stairs and broke his nose." Adelaide grinned sheepishly. Carl laughed loudly and shot a quick 'cool' to the statement. Adelaide shook her head and pointed at the younger boy, "No, not cool. You gotta stop telling him to do dangerous things, he's gullible!"
Lip wrapped his arm around the girl and tugged her out of the kitchen before carl could respond. "Ian, c'mon shithead!" He yelled, dragging Adelaide beside him. She shrugged him off and walked to the door with Ian and Lip. They walked a bit down the street as Carl ran out of the house, then Debbie who had Liam strapped to her chest. The small group began walking to school, along with Lip, who had stolen some kids bike.
ππππππππ ππππππ πππ a very stict self made schedule that she's never strayed from and now that she was home and had already eaten dinner, it was time for her to begin her homework, which she surprisingly didn't have, so she was left on her couch doing nothing. Absolutely nothing. Absolutely fucking nothing.
She couldn't go talk to her mother or see what trouble her brother was getting into, considering the fact that they were both at the clinic dealing with Allens broken nose. So, basically, Adelaide has nothing to do and no one to talk to. That is until her doorbell rang. The brunette girl sat up from her lying position and walked over to the front door.
She brushed her bangs out of her eyes and opened the door to reveal Lip Gallagher, suspiciously grinning widely. Adelaide narrowed her eyes at the boy and gripped the doorknob, preparing for whatever news the Gallagher spawn was about to share with her. "What?" She asked suspiciously. He said nothing and just kept grinning at the girl. "Lip, what do you want?" She pressed, now getting annoyed.
"I was just tutoring someone." He continued grinning. Adie slowly nodded and gestured for him to continue. "I was tutoring Karen Jackson." Thats when the girl shook her head and muttered a sarcastic 'okay.'
"At first I thought you maybe got paid extra, but no, you just got laid, or something." She groaned, walking outside and closing the door. "God, I seriously don't know what anyone sees in her." Adelaide sighed as the two began walking across the street.
Her statement was actually a lie, she knew exactly what people saw in Karen Jackson. The answer was simple, sex. You could probably just make sexual innuendos towards her and she'd grab you by the collar and drag you into her bedroom. In Adelaides eyes, Karen Jackson is nothing but a two-faced slut. Someone who leads people on, claiming she cares about them, but really she just uses people for money, sex, and weed. Needless to say, Adelaide Parker hates Karen Jackson.
"Sex." Lip stated. Exactly.
The two entered the Gallagher household in silence, which immediately broken by Carl yelling at Debbie for something that neither Adelaide nor Lip could figure out. The older two shrugged off the younger two and walked upstairs to the boys room.
Lip sat down on Carl's bunk and Adelaide sat down on Ian's bed. The two sat in silence for a minute as Lip lit a cigarette. "Can I ask something?" Adie asked, waving away some of the smoke wafting into her face. Lip nods, inhaling smoke from the cigarette. "Why Karen Jackson?" She questioned, wafting away more smoke.
He shrugged and exhaled, "She needs to get her grades up." He joked with a grin. Adelaide scoffed and shook her head. "What?" He questioned with a laugh and his cigarette still in his mouth. She shook her head again and quickly answered 'nothing.' Lip took his cigarette out of his mouth and stared at Adelaide. "Why do you hate her so much?" He asked her.
Adelaide smiled to herself, "You know why, she's a bitch!" The girl exclaimed. Lip did in fact know exactly why Adelaide hated Karen so much. When Adie first moved in, Karen befriended her. Adie just thought that she was a nice person, but it turns out that every single time Adelaide invited Karen over to her house, some of her mothers jewelry went missing. By some, one thousand and fifty dollars worth of jewelry. Which of course, was immediately blamed on Adelaide. Obviously, Karen had stolen the jewelry. Stolen and pawned it.
Lip nodded. "I do know why, but honestly, you can't really be shocked that she did it." He shrugged looking over to the girl who looks shocked by his reaction. "Don't be so surprised, Adie, everyone wants to rob you!"
