EOBARD THAWNE WAS NEVER , a lucky man. Sure he lived a good life, he had the money , he had the brain. And was an over achieve for the most part.

But there was two key points in his life that he was lacking, popularity from the people and , love.

He was so busy keeping up with central city's latest speedster , that he didn't take the time to find someone he could share his life with.

That is until he walked into the historic library , on February 14th.

MERCURY DANIELS WAS A , senior in college. Just a few more months and she would have her PhD in Kinesiology.

And the reason why she was majoring in Kinesiology , was because of the flash.

She found him absolutely fascinating , starting with his speed ending with his stamina to run all across the city in a short amount of time.

Also focusing on her studies , she too didn't find any time for herself to date.

That all changed on February 14th for her as well.

EARLY IN THE AFTERNOON , on February 14th , Mercury decided she was going to start study for her end of the year finals.

It was either make or break for her , even though she had one of the highest marks in class it didn't stop her from wanting to be the best.

So instead of using online resources like everybody else did she decide to go one of the remaining hard—book cover libraries.

During this day and age mostly everything was electronic , which Mercury wasn't opposed to but she liked reading the evidence that wasn't over exaggerated with more opinions than facts.

Heading in she waved to her favorite security guard named Harley , and went to her favorite section which held every book she could have ever wanted.

Books starting on motion ending with speed. They were all her favorite.

One in particular was made by a Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Frost.

Though she had never met them , she could figure out what they were like by their writings.

Sometimes she even thought they were right there with the scarlet speedster , but the books would never tell.

It had been an hour since Mercury started studying when she heard a throat being cleared behind.

DOING SOMETHING HE , hadn't done in a long time. Eobard Thawne decided that he would go to the library.

It had been almost a full year since he had visited the historic library , but something told him to go there today.

Entering in through the thresh hold , he was hit with the rather comforting smell of old books.

They were all littered across the shelves. Starting from one wall ending on another.

It was a whirlwind of academian knowledge just waiting to be noticed.

Walking around he noticed not many people were in the library which was to be expected , since everybody was on their phone , tablet , laptops and computers now a days.

Sometime he wished people would just put down the pixelated devices and spend they day exploring the world.

But alas that wasn't going to happen , so he accepted their decisions and went on with his life.

Exploring the aisle of the hard covered books , Thawne picked up a few for himself to read.

Thinking he had enough of the old historic place for the day he decided to go and check his things out , until he heard the same irritating tapping.

Following the sound of the rhythmic beat , his feat brought him to a table.

At first he thought the table was empty , considering all the book piled upon it. Until his saw a black haired female lift her head up from behind the stacks.

Her beauty entranced him almost immediately , but he didn't waver from the task at hand.

Clearing his throat he waited for her to notice him.

NOT HEARING ANYONE , walk up towards her , Mercury was startled by the man in a black jacket.

"Is there anything I can do for you , I'm trying to study here?" She questioned , raising an eyebrow.

" Yes actually , your insistent tapping on the table in quite annoying , if you must know."

"Well , I'm sorry to hear that for you , but everybody knows that once I enter this section of the library you're going to hear my " insistent tapping " , because it helps me concentrate while I'm studying."

"My Kinesiology PhD isn't going to study itself." She whispered amongst herself , glancing back down to the notes she had written.

Thawne was about to comeback with a pestering anomaly , until he heard the last part of her sentence.

Intrigued in her studies , Thawne wanted to know more.

"Why Kinesiology ? Someone like you looks like they study something dealing with history or literature."

Glaring back up at him , Mercury answered his question.

"Luckily you don't know me , and the majors you just listed are all generic. Plus I'm more of a science person when it comes to school studies."

Thawne hummed , liking the nipping remarks of the girls answers.

"So tell me , what made you get into Kinesiology?" He asked , grabbing the seat in front of him and taking a seat.

"What's it to you? Last time I checked , you came over here to stop me from tapping my pencil. And now all of a sudden you wanna know why I major in what I major in."

"You would be corrected , let's just say you've peak an interest." He smirked.

Deciding to play his game , Mercury put on a cunning smile of her own and answered his preposterous questions.

"Fine , since you wanna know why so badly I'll tell you. But I don't want to hear any backlash on my answer , it's mine for a reason. You got it?" She ordered pointing a stern finger in his direction.

Taking in her empty threats Thawne nodded curiously.

"I started studying in the subject right after I got my doctorate in Molecular Genetics , because I was fascinated with The Flash's speed and stamina."

And in listening to her answer , Thawne knew this was the woman for him. But of course he didn't just come out and say that.

"Not to be rude , but you look a bit young to already have your doctorate in Molecular Genetic's and now almost having in Kinesiology as well."

"First of all , I don't take that as you being rude. In fact I find that to be a complement cause people my age are just getting their degrees. And second , I have an eidetic and photographic memory , so skipping a few grades never hurt anybody especially since my ability can come in handy with school related subjects."

"So you're like a human cheat sheet." Thawne chuckled , with a small but growing smile.

"I guess I am , but now I have a question for you."

Silencing any and all chuckles he had let out , Thawne resorted back to his original facade.

"Lay it on me. What is it you want to know?"

"I told you the inspiration on why I major in what I major in , but you didn't laugh at it or tell me it was a silly reason , so what gives? Why didn't you laugh like everyone else?"

Little did Mercury know , Thawne had empathized with her right away.

"I to find The Flash fascinating , so much , so that I started studying everything about him. I recently have just figured out how he's gotten his speed." He explained to the intrigued girl.

Thawne could see the excitement hungering in the girls eyes , that same hunger he had in himself maybe not as vile but it was there.

"Tell me more." Mercury expressed with great interest.

And since then Mercury had officially introduced herself to Eobard and they spent every single moment they could with each other.

TIME HAD PASSED LIKE , it does everyday. And it was now the beginning of June and Mercury Daniels was graduating from her last year in college.

With Eobard Thawne in the crowd cheering her on , along side her family members.

Since that day in the historic library , Mercury and Thawne were apart of each other's life's.

Thawne had showed her exactly how The Flash got his his speed , and he even told her how he wanted to test out his finding on himself.

How he wanted to become a speedster , and that he wanted to be the red streak everybody saw when they needed saving.

Of course Mercury was skeptical about everything , I mean sure she loved The Flash and all but there could be a lot of complications in becoming a speedster.

But Thawne assured her , he assured his worried girlfriend that everything would be just fine.

And since he assured her that everything was going to be fine , they decided to set a date. That would change the course in their history forever.

It was said that after Mercury's graduation , they would some time and get everything set up while running multiple test on Thawne to see what suited his body the best.

Finding an article about a man who was struck by lightning and lived back in 2013 , Thawne knew that this was him.

It wasn't entirely to hard to find out who the scarlet speedster was , there was a local journalist who wrote so many things about the recent events involving The Flash , that it felt like she was actually there and that's when Thawne put the pieces together and knew she had to know who the speedster was.

And her husband just so happen to be the man who was struck by lightning.

So now both Mercury and Thawne both new who The Flash really was , Forensic Chemist that went by the name of , Bartholomew Henry Allen or Barry Allen for short.

GOING THROUGH THAWNE'S , genetics and screening for any materials that he may react bad to the trading and tests were finally done.

And during the span of 2 years , right before Thawne's due date , he popped the question.

Throughout all of it , the frustration and burst of happiness , the doubt and every single whirlwind of emotions Thawne had ever experienced , he knew that if any woman could stick through that she was meant to be his wife.

Mercury of course said "yes" , she knew about Thawne's obsession over becoming a speedster but she was supportive because she loved him.

But the one thing she didn't know was while Thawne was testing himself for the speed force energy , he was also testing his darling fiancé as well.

Becoming a speedster was a special and important thing to him , so when he thought everything over he knew that he also wanted her to become one as well.

It would be their special thing , soon to be husband and wife speedster duo.

Right after Thawne had popped the question he asked.

Taken by surprise over by being asked to be married and become a speedster , Mercury asked if she could think everything over.

It was just over 3 three days when she got back to Thawne with an answer.

"Yes."

TODAY WAS THE DAY , it was the day Thawne was going become a speedster and soon after his fiancé would follow.

Thawne wanted to go first to make sure everything would work perfectly for Mercury too.

Putting all the data logs on the giant computer screens , Mercury gave Thawne the go to get in the chamber that would channel the speed force they had made.

Counting down from the control room , Mercury flipped the switches and watched as the speed force took its course and ran through her fiancé's body.

His hoarse screams could be heard through out the chamber and lab.

It sounded it so painful , that it even made Mercury want to turn the machine off but she knew this is what Thawne wanted more then anything so she let the speed force do it's thing until the machine beep alerting her that everything was done.

What she didn't know was that while Thawne was taking in the speed force that he actually tapped into the negative speed force turning his lightning a searing red.

Shutting off all the other machines , she ran into the chambered room and went to Thawne's side.

She noticed how he couldn't stop vibrating , calling out she tried to get him to focus on her voice and hers alone.

After a few minutes , Thawne finally stopped vibrating and looked at his fiancé with pure happiness.

It had worked and now Eobard Thawne was a speedster. And soon Mercury Daniels would be too.

NERVOUSNESS WAS THE ONE , thing Mercury felt at moment.

Thawne could sense it , and he knew why.

She had to see him go through immense pain in order to achieve the powers he wanted , and now so does she.

"It's going to be alright Mimi, I went through the same thing and now look at home now." Thawne said , raising up his now vibrating hand.

"And that's really great , but that doesn't help the fact that something that could go wrong."

"If something does , which it won't. Then I'll be here to deal with it , but you know I would never let anything happen to you."

Nodding at Thawne's reassurance , Mercury told him that she was ready.

Undergoing the same process , Thawne's started the countdown and watched his fiancé in the chamber.

Giving a quick nod , Thawne flipped the switch and watched all the lighting strikes be absorbed through Mercury's body.

And in this Thawne thought she had never looked more beautiful.

But when everything seemed to be alright , nature took its course and made something go wrong.

Thawne knew about the pain he endured while absorbing the speed force but hearing her screams was deafening.

As he watched as her body faded in and out , he shut the machines down and ran into the room.

Running to her unconscious body Thawne felt for her pulse.

Though it was a weakened one , it was still there and for that he thanked five retribution.

IT HAD BEEN OVER A MONTH , since Mercury had woken up and in that time Eobard Thawne became a mad man.

Not only had Barry Allen stolen his spotlight , but his fiancé was still in a coma.

He got what he wanted , he had the speed force coursing through his veins but he didn't have his fame and he didn't have the love of his life.

It had now been two months when Mercury finally became conscious.

Monitors beeping all around the lab alerted Thawne of his fiancé's conditions.

Sprinting into the lab , he saw her vibrating with blazing red eyes.

Smiling at their success , he walked over to her and coaxed her out of the accelerated state she was in.

Giving herself a moment to finally feel everything , Mercury turned to Thawne.

"It worked? We're both speedsters?"

"Yeah , honey. We're both speedsters." He confirmed.

Within that answer , Mercury could sense something was off with Thawne , she knew him like the back of her hand.

But with everything going on she decided to give him some space to figure everything out , even though she knew she would eventually grow to regret that decision.

ONLY BEING A COUPLE WEEKS , from out of a coma Mercury noticed a change in Thawne.

He was more angry then usual , and even more obsessed with Barry Allen.

So she decided to ask him what was wrong , because he was not the man she once knew.

Knowing this conversation was coming soon , Eobard told her everything , leading from her coma to Barry Allen stealing his spotlight.

And she finally why acting the way he was. She didn't want this to continue and she tried stopping him multiple times , but it was never enough.

So when Eobard told her he was going after Barry she wasn't surprised.

She just wanted him to be safe and happy , and she worried for Barry Allen as well but not as much as she used to.

Ever since she had came out the coma , she had been different as well , but Thawne was so wrapped up in his own drama he didn't see it.

He didn't see the red eyes glowing in the dark of night around central city.

He didn't see his fiancé struggling to rain in the anger and madness going on inside her.

But alas , who was Mercury Daniels without a little anger.

ANOTHER MONTH HAD PASSED , since Thawne's recent out breaks in anger.

And Mercury knew that everything was all to well , so once she discovered the plans Thawne had to run back into the past and kill Barry , she was livid.

Storming up to him while he was tinkering with gadgets in the lab , she slammed the papers on the desk.

"You're going back into the past and you didn't tell me!"

Freezing in place , Eobard Thawne knew he had been caught."

"Going into the past can affect things if you're not to careful , so I wanted to keep you safe by keeping you out of it." He answered solemnly.

"I get that more than anyone should , but you didn't think to at least mention you would be gone. Would you have even left a note if I didn't find your plans?"

"Of course I would have. I love you , you know that. I wouldn't just abandon you without a thought."

Mercury had no words she just shook her head and walked out of the room.

Thawne waited a few hours biding time for himself , before he went to go apologize.

And once he finally did , not everything was forgiven but Mercury knew the main reason why he went about things the way he did.

Since then Thawne had let Mercury in on everything he was doing , and soon she would be saying goodbye to him just for a little while.

SOON CAME AROUND A LOT , faster than Mercury would've hopped for.

It was now time for Thawne to speed into the past.

Out on the street in town , Thawne readied himself for what he was about to do while Mercury was back at the lab monitoring everything.

Telling him words of encouragement , they said their I love you's and see you laters.

Running past Mach 2 a wormhole appeared , disrupting the peaceful night in central city.

It disrupted everything so much so that Barry Allen showed up and followed Thawne in through the wormhole.

And all the while , Mercury couldn't do anything because they were already gone.

2 WEEKS HAD PASSED BY , and there was no word from Thawne.

Mercury worried for his safety and wondered if he achieved his goal , because now all she wanted was him.

The madness was driving her more insane , to where she had a fight with an amazon warrior.

And after calming down after said fight she learned the female warriors name, Diana Price.

Promising the woman to do no more wrong , which was ultimately a lie since she had tapped intro he negative speed force again.

But now it was time to use the speed force for something more efficient.

It was now time to get her fiancé , Eobard Thawne back.

Not having designed a suit for herself yet , Mercury decided to go with comfortable clothes to time travel in.

Knowing she'd have to reach Mach 2 , she settled herself in the middle of central city.

Giving herself a breather she became one with the energy inside her and channeled it.

With eyes blaring a crimson red , she took off going the fast she ever went racing across town.

Going round and round , she created enough force to open up and wormhole , giving it her all she ran through it focusing on central city.

What she didn't account for was the speed force sending exactly where Thawne was , it was like they needed her to go there.

But she didn't know that at the time.

Thinking the wormhole was going to open up on the ground she was clearly mistaken , because once she had finally reached her destination she didn't feel her feet on the ground.

She was in fact free falling from the sky and to make matters worse and thunderstorm just so happen to be happening in that moment.

Trying to stop the free fall Mercury knew it was no use. So she continued to free fall.

But the day she just so decided to come also happened to be the day S.T.A.R Labs' particle accelerator exploded.

All the while , Mercury Daniels was falling for the sky.

Spreading her arms and legs out , Mercury maneuvered herself into the starfish method she had heard about from sky divers.

So as she was looking down upon the city above her she didn't see the lighting strike trailing behind her following tachyon particles she was leaving beind.

The next thing Mercury knew was that she was experiencing a sharp and tingling pain , and everything went black after that.

A GOOD SAMARITAN , was to thank for bringing in a Jane Doe into the hospital.

Seeing the unconscious woman on the ground they drove her up to the ER , and told the doctors and nurses what they knew.

Getting to work they assessed any and all wounds that were present on the Jane Doe.

But like earlier tonight , she presented with the same symptoms and case as the patient next door to hers , Barry Allen.

And when the eccentric Harrison Wells , came to acquire Barry to his lab , he noticed the woman right next door to his and took her in with his as well. Saying that she was a family friend , and with the pictures to show it , the doctors let him take her.

So now , S.T.A.R Labs had two patients to worry about , the thing is they didn't know one patient didn't know who she was.
