Next Day - 10AM
Jayda laid awake, her fingertips grazing softly through Von's scalp as he laid on her stomach.
She had finally gotten him to fall asleep an hour ago, but he twisted and turned every second so she didn't know how long it would last.
He'd cried literally the entire night, mostly in disbelief. The only reason he finally fell asleep was because he had a major migraine.
She carefully slid from under him, standing up out of the bed. She watched as Von felt for her, and she cursed under her breath once he sat up.
He looked around, before looking at her, and she met his eyes.
"I just have to pee baby." She mumbled. He opened his arms for her, and she walked back over to him, letting him pull her back down.
"I have to pee Kyzeir. I be right back." She held his face, before sighing, seeing tears falling from his eyes.
"I'm sorry baby." She hugged around his neck as he cried on her shoulder. He laid his head down, wiping his face.
He stood up with her, carrying her to the bathroom. He placed her on her feet, and she sat down to pee. The both of them brushed their teeth as Von stared at himself in the mirror.
Jayda wiped her mouth as she watched him blink slowly.
"I killed him." He mumbled, and Jayda wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I did n-I didn't. Jayda I was just talking to him yester-." He covered his face in his hands, and she rubbed his back.
"How is he dead? I talk to him everyday Jayda. I have not been hallucinating this whole time." He mumbled, his voice cracking as Jayda led him over to the bed.
She laid down, letting him lay between her legs, crying silently on her stomach as she rubbed his scalp.
"15 y-I been imagining him for 15 years?" He whispered, more so to himself.
"It was a trauma response baby. You were so young and I'm sure you didn't really understand. And on top of that you were heavily abused, you probably imagined your brother being alive after all these years as a comfort thing." She rubbed his scalp, and he sniffed, wiping his face.
"Man what the fuck." He sat up, running his fingers through his dreads as his leg shook. He grabbed his phone, going to his call log.
He stared in disbelief at his phone, not even knowing Trayvon's number nor seeing it in his log, and he was who Von called the most.
He put his face in Jayda's stomach, rubbing his thumb over her skin as he closed his eyes.
"He was only 9." Von mumbled, wiping his face dry, his eyes still closed.
Jayda pulled him up, his head laying in her neck as she pulled the covers over them, rubbing his back.
"Why'd it take me so long to realize? I been thinking he was alive for fifteen y-fuck." He groaned, leaning over and throwing up in the trash bin.
Jayda sat up, holding his dreads back as he threw up, and she frowned her face up at his clear vomit.
"Shit." She cursed once he passed out after he finished throwing up. She laid him back on her bed, standing up and grabbing a towel, soaking it in hot water.
She cleaned his face off and his mouth out with the warm towel, sighing as she rubbed his face.
She put her fingers to his neck, feeling his pulse steady, and he'd probably put himself to sleep from overwhelming his body.
Jayda stood up out of her bed, walking to her kitchen to make him some soup.
She didn't even know how to help him. She knew that what he did wasn't excusable, but he was young and only trying to help.
She could see how big of a toll him realizing his twin was dead was taking on him; and it hurt her heart that there was really nothing she could do.
This was honestly one of the weirdest things she'd ever experienced. Like, she didn't understand how he never realized after fifteen years that his brother was dead.
It was a weird concept for her to grasp. She had been around multiple times when Von 'called' Trayvon, and the conversations she'd heard seemed like he was actually conversing with someone.
He would have full blown conversations with 'Trayvon', and it blew Jayda's mind that all of it was just his sixth sense.
She mixed the bowl of hot chicken soup with a spoon, mixing in some fried egg noodles.
She grabbed an orange Gatorade out of her fridge, walking back to her room and closing the door behind her.
She sat the bowl on her nightstand as she opened her window, letting the cool air flow in as it still stormed outside.
Jayda sat next to him in her bed, softly tapping him awake. Von lowly groaned, clutching his forehead from the migraine he caught.
"You need to eat something. You're making yourself sick, that's why your throw up was clear. Eat this please." She held the soup out to him, and he kept his eyes closed, not moving.
She held his face, pouring a spoonful of the soup in his mouth, and he swallowed it, chewing the chicken.
Jayda continued feeding him, chuckling as he rubbed her stomach, keeping his eyes closed.
She sat the now empty bowl down, giving him the Gatorade and letting him drink from it.
"I know you're not okay, but is there something I can do? I don't know how to help you." She said as she sat his drink on the nightstand, pulling the covers over them.
Von remained quiet, laying on her chest and wrapping his arms around her.
"I feel so fucking stupid." He mumbled, rubbing her sides as she stared at the ceiling.
"You didn't kn-." Jayda started, and he cut her off.
"How didn't I know? He been dead for fifteen fucking years, and I never once th-nevermind. Forget it." He got off of her chest, laying on his stomach and facing the opposite direction.
She inaudibly sighed, still not knowing how to help and hoping she didn't make it worse.
Von stared at the wall, silent tears falling from his eyes as his thoughts overclouded his brain.
He didn't understand how he'd imagined his dead brother being alive after fifteen years. And not just imagining, but having full blown conversations with him.
His mind had even tricked him into believing his brother really was in Switzerland at an army base, and made him think he was seeing his twin on FaceTime, when it was all just a hallucination.
Von realized that he'd made himself push the fact that he killed his twin brother to the back of his head because he didn't want to remember it.
It was starting to click for him, the first body he had ever caught that he hated talking about, he'd tricked himself into thinking it never happened.
But it did happen. And his twin was no longer with him, and hadn't been for fifteen whole years. He was really by himself.
Von wiped his face as he turned to face Jayda, avoiding her eyes as he wrapped his arms back around her.
"You scared of me Jayda?" He sniffed, and her heart melted as he kissed her chest, before laying his face in it, both of them laying on their sides.
"No baby." She rubbed his face, wiping his tears that fell from his eyes.
"Why not? I kill people. I killed my twin when he was nine. I could kill you too." He mumbled, his eyes closed.
"I know the real you behind all that. And I trust you, so if you ever feel that urge, do what you gotta do. Watch how I beat yo ass." She shrugged, and he laughed, making her smile.
"You all I got now." His fingers grazed over her back, sending chills up her spine.
"If I fuck up and lose you, I don't know what ima do. I'm bound to fuck up Zuni I been doing that shit my whole life. I don't wanna lose you baby." His voice cracked, and she wrapped her arms around him, a small pout on her face.
"You still got time to change Kyzeir. Your past doesn't control what you can do now and in the future. I'm not going nowhere." She mumbled, kissing his forehead as he laid in her chest.
"I'm sorry Jayda. For crying and being weak and shit." He rasped, his voice hoarse as he wiped his face.
"I don't know what sane-or insane-person, wouldn't cry in your situation." She said, and he chuckled, sniffing, his nose slightly stopped up.
"And crying doesn't make you weak." She wiped his face, meeting his bloodshot red eyes.
"You love me?" He mumbled, staring at her, and she smiled.
"Yes. I love you so much, and I'm here for you baby." She said, and he softly pressed his lips against hers.
Jayda held his face, allowing his tongue in her mouth and closing her eyes as he deepened the kiss.
"I love you more."
I love his sick delusional ass too 😍
