Next Day.

"Shit." Jayda panted, breathing hard as Von fell down next to her, both of them trying to catch their breath.

"I could fuck you all day." He mumbled, closing his eyes as Jayda chuckled.

"Nigga you did. Yesterday and today." She retorted, and he laughed, shrugging.

Yesterday, the two of them did different positions and fucked all over her house, all day. Then when they woke up today, they went for two more rounds.

"You got the best dick in the world." She mumbled, yawning.

"I wish my dick could live in you. You feel so good girl that shit crazy." He reached over, resting his hand between her legs.

"You lose your virginity one timeeeee and you sweaaar." She smiled, and he laughed, mushing her head.

"If I ever fuck anybody else I already know they ain't topping you. You so damn sexual I did not know you got down like that." He frowned at her, and she chuckled.

"It's my lil secret I guess." She bit her lip as she looked at him, and he kissed her lips.

Jayda smiled into the kiss, holding his face as the kiss deepened.

"Move I can't go another round." She grabbed his hand off of her pussy, and he laughed.

"Damn, you tapping out?" He smirked.

"Yes. I can't keep up with you bro." She mumbled, and he chuckled, picking her up.

He carried her to the bathroom, stepping in the hot shower with her.

Jayda laid her head on his shoulder as he held her, slightly rocking side to side as he rubbed her back.

"Stop, you making me sleepy. Put me down." She mumbled, and he smiled, placing her on her feet.

She wrapped her arms around his torso, her head on his chest, making him laugh.

"You so damn clingy, get off me." He attempted to grab her arms, and she held him tighter, making him smile as he hugged around her neck.

"I love you." He kissed her forehead, and a smile grew on her face.

"I love you. I'm proud of you." She mumbled, and his heart fluttered as he kissed the side of her face.

They stood under the water in comfortable silence as he rubbed the sides of her body, occasionally kissing her.

"Why you end it with that nigga?" Von asked after a few minutes.

"Just wasn't compatible." She said, and he held her face to look up at him.

"Tell me." He frowned, and she chuckled.

"Why?" She asked, resting her face in his hand.

"So I won't make the same mistakes." He mumbled, and she smiled, putting her face in his chest.

"I loved having sex with him and chilling as a friend, but I didn't want him as my man. He's not dominant enough for me. I need someone who asserts dominance over me, you know? I liked sex with him because I like being in control but I don't wanna be in control all the time. I want somebody that calm the nigga in me down." She rambled, and he chuckled.

"You told him that?" He asked, and she nodded.

"I think I hurt his feelings. And that hurt mine because I hate making other people feel bad. And I really do love him, like a lot. I didn't mean to hurt his feelings or nothing but he was steady pressing me about a relationship so I had to tell him." She mumbled, a sad expression on her face.

Von tilted her head up to look at him, meeting her eyes.

"The truth hurts. At least you didn't sugar coat shit. Somebody will like that about him, it's okay to have a preference." He told her, and she nodded.

"That's what I said. But I regret telling him, I don't like hurting peoples feelings. I had no right to tell him that because that's not a bad thing about him, and I don't have the right to tell people what I don't like about them." She shook her head at herself, lowly sighing.

"If you feel bad then go apologize." Von said, and she shook her head again.

"Nah. I'm not gonna force it. He hasn't responded to the few texts I sent him a few weeks ago. It's been a month, he obviously ain't tryna rekindle shit." Jayda shrugged, grabbing her loaf and rubbing her dove soap into it.

"But you miss him." Von said, and she shrugged again.

"Not really. But I don't wanna talk about him." She said as they stepped out.

Von rubbed his ear, before slightly becoming dizzy, and Jayda quickly wrapped her arms around him, letting him hold on to her.

"My shit hurt mama." He mumbled, and she frowned, turning his head to look at his ear.

"Ima call my doctor over here. Come on, sit down." Jayda walked him to her bed, sitting him down on the fresh sheets.

"I don't want no docta'." He said as she dried him off.

"Too bad." She pulled his shirt over his head after he pulled on some sweats.

Jayda walked over to her dresser, dropping her towel and rubbing lotion in on her body.

"Stop staring perv." She chuckled, seeing him looking at her through the mirror.

"Von." She called, before turning around and he met her eyes.

"You said something?" He frowned, and she chuckled.

"No baby, you good." She pulled on her panties, clipping a bra on then a strapless body suit.

She sprayed her perfume, reaching over him to grab her phone, and he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"You okay?" She rubbed his face, and he didn't answer her.

She tilted his head to look up at her, signing with her hands if he could hear her.

"No." He mumbled, and she slightly frowned.

She signed 'Like, at all?' with her hands, and he signed back 'Say something.'

"Can you hear me?" She spoke, holding his face.

"Yeah. A little bit." He mumbled, and she softly kissed his lips as he ran his fingers through her scalp.

Jayda slowly pulled away, signing 'I'm going to get you some help.' with her hands, and he nodded, laying his head on her stomach.

Jayda called her personal doctor that did damn near everything health and body related, putting the phone to her ear.

"Hey Zuni." Her doctor, Alice, answered.

"Hey A. You free right now?" Jayda asked, rubbing Von's scalp.

"Always free for you miss lady. What's up?" She replied.

"My friend is all the way deaf in one ear, and a few minutes ago, the hearing in his other ear like-zoned out, I think. Can you come and check him out please?" Jayda asked, hearing shuffling.

"Yes ma'am. I'll be there in a half hour. Clear some space for me." Alice said, and Jayda nodded.

"Thanks A." Jayda replied, before ending the call.

Jayda lifted Von's head up to look at her, and he locked eyes with her.

"I'm okay." He rasped, as she rubbed his face.

'Is this new, or did it just start? Does it hurt?' Jayda signed with her hands, and he shook his head.

"I can hear you it just sound kind of distant. I couldn't hear you over there cause you was too far away from me. It don't hurt." He mumbled as she rubbed his ear.

"How did you lose your hearing in the first place?" She turned to walk out, and he stood up.

"Bullet grazed too close to my ear. I never really got the real reason because the doctors in prison trash." He said as he followed her to the front of her house.

"Can I know the story?" She asked, pushing her couch back some to clear some space for Alice.

She pulled out two large chairs, sitting them in the now open area of her living room.

"Me and my best friend slid on the opps and he died, I lost my hearing. That's really it." He shrugged, opening a bag of fruit snacks.

"Do you miss him?" She asked, and he nodded.

"Everyday." He said, texting Trayvon back.

"Now that I think about it, I don't know as much as I'd want to know about you." Jayda frowned, sitting on her couch.

"What you wanna know ma?" He walked over to her, sitting down next to her.

"I don't know. You so closed off I don't even know what to ask." She rubbed his face, before there was a knock on the front door.

"I'll tell you everything one day." He kissed her lips, and she smiled, sucking the fruit snack out of his mouth, and he laughed, pushing her back.

"You nasty ass girl. Disgusting." He chuckled, and she laughed, standing up and walking to her front door.

She opened the door, and Alice smiled, hugging her as Jayda hugged back.

"Thanks for coming A." Jayda rubbed her back before pulling away, gesturing her inside.

"No problem girl, anything for you." Alice carried a medium sized bag inside, following Jayda to her living room.

"Alice this is Von, Von this is Alice, my doctor for literally everything." Jayda introduced them, and Von stood up, holding his hand out.

"Nice to meet you Von. You can call me A or Alice, doesn't matter." Alice shook his hand, and he nodded, standing beside Jayda who chuckled at his awkwardness.

Von hated being around people. Especially people he didn't know, they made his body feel weird.

"It's okay boo. Sit down." Jayda gestured to the chair, and he pulled her with him. Von sat down, attempting to pull Jayda in his lap, and she laughed, shaking her head no.

"Uh, can he hear or should I sign?" Alice said, while signing the words she spoke.

"You can talk." Von mumbled, and she nodded, opening her suitcase.

"So, which ear are you deaf in? Have you ever gotten it checked out?" Alice asked, setting up a mini workspace as Von rubbed Jayda's hip.

"My right one. Once, and they just gave me a hearing aid." Von told her, and she nodded.

"This is just a mini camera so that I can take a look at what's going on inside okay?" Alice said, and he nodded, turning his head.

Alice used her Teslong digital otoscope, placing the end of it in his right ear, and Von slightly winced as she began moving it around, looking down at her phone that the instrument was connected to.

She slowly pulled it out as Jayda watched, and she grabbed another tool.

"This is just water to clean your ear." Alice told him, and he nodded again. Alice used a very thin tube to clean the earwax in both his right and left ear, then using a suction to suck the water and earwax out.

Von flared the muscles in his ears, already sort of feeling better.

Alice used her digital otoscope again to look inside of his left ear, looking down at the camera.

"What happened to your right ear?" Alice asked him.

"Bullet flew too close. That's all I know." He shrugged.

"Your right ear drum is severely ruptured. The bullet must've flew damn close to do damage like that. It would've healed within a few weeks with the correct treatment, maybe a surgical repair, but I'm afraid you waited a bit too long. Even without treatment it should've healed, but you developed an infection that seems to have cleared up now, but it prevented your ear drum from healing." Alice spoke as she put her tools back in her bag.

"It can't be fixed, like ever?" Jayda asked, looking at Alice.

"He'd have to come down to the clinic so that I can do a full routine check. But there's always a possibility, I'm just not sure how much." Alice told her, and she nodded as Von rested his head on her stomach.

"So, there's a sensory nerve that everyone has, called a cochlear nerve. It's essential for hearing, you know like-it's part of the auditory system, so without it, you won't hear." Alice explained, signing the words with her hands as Von watched and Jayda listened.

"Unfortunately, the cochlear nerve in your left ear is damaged. I'm not sure what from, maybe a head injury or too loud of a sound to your already sensitive right ear."

"But, that isn't the cause of your hearing loss in neither ears." Alice said, and Von furrowed his eyebrows.

"You have auditory neuropathy, that's what caused your partial deafness." Alice told him, and Jayda frowned.

"What is that?" He asked, Jayda wondering the same.

"It's a very rare type of hearing loss. Nobody knows what specifically causes it, but the bullet flying past your ear might have triggered it. Both ears are usually affected from the disruption of nerve impulses traveling from your ear to your brain." Alice explained to the two of them.

"Is there a cure or not?" Jayda asked, sitting in the chair next to Von.

"There isn't a cure, we don't have the technology to quite handle hearing loss. But lucky for you, even though it's been quite a while I'm assuming, you might still be able to go under surgery for a cochlear implant." Alice told him.

"What's the difference, isn't that kind of the same as a hearing aid?" Jayda asked, crossing her legs.

"Unlike a traditional hearing aid that amplifies sound, a cochlear implant bypasses the damaged part of the auditory system to directly stimulate the auditory nerve." Alice said to her, and Von rubbed his temples.

"Dumb it down for me cause I don't have a clue what you talm bout." Von mumbled, making her and Jayda laugh.

"So the hearing aid just kind of makes sound louder for you, it doesn't actually help you hear. But the cochlear implant will actually force your auditory nerve to work, basically." Alice told him.

"How much does it cost?" Jayda pulled her phone out, and Von grabbed her hand.

"Jayda y-." He started, and she cut him off.

"Be quiet." She softly kissed his jaw, and it unclenched, making her smile, and Alice smiled at the two of them.

"It's about thirty to fifty thousand without insurance." Alice said as she zipped her bag up.

"Oh that ain't bad at all. What's the aftermath? Like disadvantages and the aftercare for when the surgery's done?" Jayda rubbed Von's hand that was on her thigh.

"If it's improperly placed-dizziness, maybe permanent nerve damage, brain fluid leaks, meningitis. After surgery he'll be very sluggish from the medicine, not the surgery itself. He'd need a care taker for maybe a week and a half because he'll be on strong prescribed medicine to help with the healing." Alice told her.

"Jayda you know I keep it real with you, you my girl. It's a dangerous procedure, but it will restore his hearing if it goes right, you just have to find a doctor who's done it before. I can send you the information of my top otolaryngologist, and if you do decide to go through with the procedure I'll be there to make sure everything goes right and keep you updated." Alice said as she stood up, and Jayda nodded, standing up as well.

"Thank you." Von spoke, and Alice nodded, shaking his hand, before following Jayda to the front door.

"Thanks for coming A. Ima talk to him then tell you what he decides, then we can make a plan or something." Jayda hugged her, and Alice hugged back.

"Of course. Soooo, is that boo?" Alice whispered, and Jayda laughed.

"Nope. That's friend. A very great friend that I love and am keeping a secret." Jayda sarcastically whispered back, making Alice laugh, raising her hands in surrender.

"Y'all are totally adorable, your secret is safe with me. Bye hon." Alice waved.

"Bye white girl. Drive safe." Jayda smiled, laughing once Alice stuck her middle finger up.

Jayda closed and locked her door, walking back to the living room, before frowning.

She walked back to her room, seeing Von under her covers, and she pulled her jumpsuit off, laying next to him and wrapping her arm around him as he laid facing the wall.

"So?" Jayda kissed his back as she rubbed his pelvis.

"I'm not doing it." He mumbled, and her eyebrows slightly furrowed.

"Why not-I mean of course it's your decision, I just wanna know why?" She asked.

"Too many disadvantages. I been half deaf for damn near 10 years. If I go all the way deaf, won't shit change. Ion wanna hear mufuckas no way." He mumbled, and she chuckled.

"But there's a possibility. You still have a chance Kyzeir." She replied, and he turned to face her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her leg over his waist as his hand rested on her ass.

"Not a chance I'm willing to take." He told her, and she rubbed his face.

"You scared?" She asked, and he nodded.

"I will get you the best doctor in the world." She mumbled, and he chuckled.

"Your heart so big. You just be ready to help me huh?" He rubbed her ass, and she nodded, closing her eyes.

"Because I love you. And I want you to always be able to hear me tell you that. So let's take the chance together." She spoke softly, and his heart fluttered as butterflies filled his stomach.

"I love you Jayda. Like so much." He mumbled, kissing her bottom lip, and her eyes fluttered open.

"I love you too V Roy."

I love him too tbh. That's just me tho.
