IT WAS HARD being Clarke.

Indigo had always envied herโ€” envied the way she kept cool under a suffocating amount of pressure.

And now Clarke was goneโ€” dead.

Fuck, how were they going to survive?

Crimson slowly dragged down Myles's chest, while he was sat on the same cot Indigo had seized on. His breathing was uneven and raspyโ€” causing Indigo to worry even more than she was already. He was sitting up against the wallโ€” while Indigo sat at the edge of the cot.

Indigo held back a sob thinking about Clarke and Finnโ€” her hands holding a cloth that soaked up the crimson dripping from the large gash in the boy's skin.

"It didn't hurt that bad," Myles said in a raspy voice, trying to impress the girlโ€” also knowing how upset she was, based on the way she couldn't speak without her voice cracking.

Indigo let out a small scoff, a smile trying too hard to force itself onto her lips, "Yeah?" she asked, her gaze not lifting from the gash she was cleaning to the best ability.

She had no experience, her mother wasn't a doctor like Clarke's wasโ€” fuck, what were they going to do?

"Yeah." he continued, his tone hoarse and his gaze fixated on the girl, "Can I ask you something?" Myles asked as if he were speaking to some supernova.

Indigo let out a smallโ€” frustratedโ€” sigh and sat up straight, her gaze finally lifting to the hurt boy's face, "What is it?" she inquiredโ€” what could he possibly want to ask? Horrible things were happening to them and he wanted to ask her a question?

"Do you think Bellamy is mad at me?" he asked, his gaze falling to the gash on his chest, the stick of the arrow sticking out of the gash, his tone barely even lifting higher than a whisperโ€” either due to his anxiety or his injury.

The older girl didn't exactly know how to respond. That's what he was upset about? Indigo then furrowed her eyebrows, "What? Why does that matter? And why would he even be mad?"

Myles let out a shaky sighโ€” the pain was evident in his breathing patterns, "Because I didn't save Clarke and Finn, and because I can't be on watch for a while."

Indigo frowned at his words, "He's an ass." she responded, leaning forward to clean the gashโ€” that wasn't as deep as they all assumed, "Don't be worried."

He had a wound in his chestโ€” and one in his leg. Bellamy told her they were arrow woundsโ€” he was most likely a better doctor than she was, but he insisted on getting landmines in before the grounders came.

The wooden sticks of the arrows still stuck out of his
woundsโ€” but they couldn't do anything until they figured out a good solution for the wounds, or how to get it out carefully without leaving anything in his skin.

So, for now, Indigo had to clean around the arrows as best as she could.

Myles raised his eyebrows, weakly, surprised at her words, "I thought you two were together?" he said more as a question than a statement.

Indigo rolled her eyes at his wordsโ€” almost annoyed at the assumption, but she tried not to be too obviously annoyed with him. After all, he almost died and was left behind by Clarke and Finn.

"No." Indigo quickly responded shaking her head, "We're not." she said in almost a disgusted tone, a grimace becoming of her face.

"Jasper!" Indigo said in a breathless tone, running over to the boyโ€” her gun that was slung over her shoulder clinking as she ran.

She quickly engulfed the boy in a hugโ€” a sadness washing over the two.

Monty was gone.

"Hi, Gogo," he responded, trying to give her a mustered-up happy tone, but it was evident he was upset. His best friend was gone.

"I'm so, so, so sorry." Indigo wanted to cryโ€” had been holding back the tears for so long now, "I'm sorry." she repeated in a whisper, her face nudging more into the hug.

Jasper sighed, his arms tightening around her, "It's not your fault, you don't have to apologize." he remained in a quiet tone, as the two slowly pulled from the hug.

Indigo took a step back, sharply inhaling at his words, "I could've gone with him, I could've-" Indigo began to ramble, only to get cut off.

"Gogo, you know you couldn't have done anything if you were there." he half-jokedโ€” trying to hide his true emotions that Indigo could see. Indigo opened her mouth to respond but was cut off once again.

A loud yell from Raven's mouth was heard, "Jasper! Landmines!" she directed, waving him overโ€” a sad expression still lightly pressing in her eyes.

Jasper gave Indigo a forced smile before jogging over to Raven. The aura in the camp was offโ€” it was like someone had personally messed with the ambiance.

A shaky sigh escaped Indigo's lipsโ€” her hand raising to hold onto her necklace for some kind of comfort- wait.

Her necklace was missing.

Indigo's blank expression faltered into a light panicked one. No. This could not be happening to her right nowโ€” she needed that necklace.

"Fuck." Indigo cursed under her breath, her hand on her bare neckโ€” that was hidden with her jacket, since she had marks scattered all over her neck, "Goddamn it."

Octavia didn't push the subject of Indigo's sex life anymore. Usually, they two didn't care to joke around if serious things were happening to the campโ€” but now it was different.

The two didn't dare to even bother to joke around, barely even speaking. They both knew that they couldn't survive if Bellamy himself ran the camp.

Indigo and Octavia were helping to build the
foxholesโ€” setting up the wood that would brim around it. And now and then Bellamy would come over to order everyone to continue what they were doingโ€” even if they were already doing it.

But this time, he stopped and walked towards Octavia and Indigo, "Indigo." he spoke, causing the two's heads to quickly snap up to him.

"What?" Indigo asked, setting down the wood that was in her arms. She then turned towards him, her eyes darting all over his face as he had his arms crossed over his chest.

Indigo thought he was hostileโ€” and going to cause some kind of argument with her. But he then sighed and brought out a fist that held something.

Indigo gave him a questioning look and held her hand out for him to drop it into her palm, "What is it?" she asked, and he quickly dropped the silver chain into her hand.

Octavia watched the interaction, her eyebrows furrowing at the chain that fell into her palmโ€” confusion racking in her brain.

Relief flowed through Indigo's veins, causing her to stare down at the charm of earth that glistened in the morning sun that slightly lit the camp.

"Thank you." she smiled down at the necklace, but as her eyes slowly went up to him, her smile falteredโ€” realizing why he had it.

"Yeah. Get back to work." Bellamy spoke in a solemn and stern tone, before turning on his heel and walking in the other directionโ€” going to talk to Raven and Jasper about the landmines.

"You fucked my brother?" Octavia asked, enunciating her curse word, while her eyes widened at the realization she
had.

Indigo's back was already facing Octavia, and a panic then replaced the relief that eased her nerves. Indigo's breath got caught in her throat, almost unable to even face her best friend.

"Um-" Indigo stammered, slowly turning to face the girl, "What do you mean? I didn't-" Indigo then was quickly cut off by Octavia.

"Don't lie, Indigo." Octavia sighed and shook her head, "I can see the hickeys on your neck." she scoffed, and then gestured to the necklace in her hand, "And why the hell would he have your necklace."

Indigo didn't even know how to respondโ€” but thank god she wouldn't have to. A loud gunshot shot rang through the camp, causing some shouts to ripple through the camp.

"Whoa! What the hell was that?" Miller asked, who was standing near Octavia and Indigo. Octavia gave Indigo another 'we'll finish this conversation later' look.

Bellamy quickly ran up to the young boy who had the gun in his handsโ€” the culprit, "Hey..!" Bellamy shouted at the boy, whilst he jogged over, "The hell's the matter with you?" he shot out at the boy.

"I'm sorry, man. I fell asleep." the boy quickly apologized, worried that Bellamy would be extremely mad at
himโ€” almost like a kid who didn't want to disappoint his parents, "I've been on watch all day."

He reminded Indigo of Myles, causing her to feel a pang of guilt for all the kids in the camp. They all just wanted to impress Bellamy.

Bellamy quickly rushed up to the nervous boy, and grabbed the collar of his jacket, pushing him up against the tree, "We've all been on watch all day!" he screamed in the boy's face, "That bullet was one less dead grounder."

"Bellamy," Indigo and Octavia said in a scolding tone in unisonโ€” briefly glancing at one another at their similarity with one another.

"You're scaring people." Indigo furrowed her eyebrows at Bellamyโ€” the silver necklace still held tightly in her
palm.

"They should be scared!" Bellamy barked at Indiho, causing her to take a step backโ€” even if she was already far from him.

Bellamy scoffed at her timidity, and let go of the
boyโ€” pushing him back against the tree, before turning back towards the camp.

"The bomb on the bridge bought us some time to prepare," Bellamy began to explain the reality of the situation to the camp, "but that time is up!" he exclaimed.

"The grounders are out there right now," Bellamy pointed out at the forest that the wall they built protected them from, "waiting for us to leave and picking us off one by one when we do!"

Bellamy dropped his hand to his sideโ€” his gaze manically danced over each camper, "Clarke, Finn, and Monty are gone- probably dead," he sighed, "and if you want to be next, I can't stop you, but no guns are leaving this camp!"

Bellamy paused, his vision taking in the fear in each of the camper's eyes, "This camp is the only thing keeping us alive!" he shouted at the crowd.

A tried sigh escaped Bellamy's lips, pausing for a
momentโ€” not knowing exactly what to say next, "Get back to work!" he ordered before shaking his head and walking off.

Indigo could see it written on his face. She could see the tiredness that sunk in his tone and eyes. Indigo wished everything was so much easier.

Octavia watched Indigo's gaze follow Bellamy's restless movements into the dropship. Octavia didn't hate Indigo for what she didโ€” she just thought it was bizarre and funny that Indigo slept with Bellamy.

"Go." Octavia let out a sarcastic scoff at Indigo's longing eyes, "Go get your boyfriend." she rolled her eyes with a small grimace tracing her features.

Indigo's gaze flickered over to Octavia's playful tone, "You're ridiculous." she rolled her eyes at the younger girl, "I'll be back." she informed the girl, before prodding her shoulder.

Octavia gave her a sarcasticโ€” forcedโ€” annoyed look, while she jogged off to the dropship. The silver necklace practically dug into her hand, while she jogged.

Indigo let out a sigh, before lifting the tarp to the dropship, and entered the ship they came to this planet on. The ship that brought her down to her Earth.

The Earth that she sunk her shoes in every day. The Earth had constantly cursed them with an endless fightโ€” which made them in a constant fight for flight.

Ignorant bliss.

"You playing with your action figures again?" Indigo asked Bellamy, who stood in front of the metal table in the
dropshipโ€” building some kind of plan for the war that lingered in the air.

"Fuck off, Indigo," Bellamy said gruffly, his ward
sharpโ€” trying to shoo her away. Indigo just took another step forward, standing next to him.

She furrowed her eyebrows at him, before digging in her pocket for something she came across a while ago. Indigo took out the geode she found right before she gave Charlotte the other half.

Indigo then put her necklace in the pocket of her
jacketโ€” paranoid she might lose it again. Indigo then nudged Bellamy's arm, causing him to give her an annoyed look.

"Here." she said airily, handing him the rock that contained crystals on the inside of it, "For good luck." she nudged his arm with the crystallized rock.

"What-" he then looked down at the rock, and his expression dropped at the familiarity of it. Charlotte's face echoed through his brain, "Oh."

Bellamy let his gaze lock on the rock for a whileโ€” it felt like hours.

"No, keep it." Bellamy shook his head at her offer. Indigo frowned at his words, "It brings luck right? You'll need it." he covered up a sad emotionโ€” that practically radiated off of himโ€” with sarcasm.

Indigo scoffed, "What's that supposed to mean?" she asked, a small smile on her lips, as she fiddled with the crystallized geode.

"It means..." he stepped closer to her, causing her heart to quicken, "If you don't get killed by a grounder, then you'll most likely accidentally blow yourself up." Bellamy tilted his head knowingly at her.

'Ew.'

The voice echoed in her head againโ€” causing her skin to crawl at his tone and expression. She wasn't going there again.

"Fuck you." she rolled her eyes, taking a step back from Bellamyโ€” her tone lacing with sarcasm. Bellamy's lips twitched into a rare smile, but it quickly disappeared.

He was going to make a witty remark, but decided against it, before turning back to the metal tableโ€” the small figures of people scattered over the table.

Indigo sighed, and pressed her lips into a thin line, "Look, Bellamy," she hesitantly put her hand on his forearm, "um, I do want you to have this." Indigo slowly put the rock on the table, trying not to ruin his little setup.

Bellamy didn't say anything.

He glanced over at her, which caused her to drop her hand to her sideโ€” recoiling from the touch. Bellamy's eyes scanned Indigo for a moment, as she stuffed her hands into her puffer's pockets.

Bellamy eyes traced over herโ€” his eyes landing on her neck which was slightly hidden by her jacket being zipped up all the way. But he could see the dark spots that sprinkled her neck,

Letting out a sigh, he looked away from Indigo, leaning his hands on the tableโ€” looking over the action figures that stood in position for war.

Myles then let out a groan in painโ€” a loud wheeze leaving his mouth. Indigo then turned to look at the boy who was lying on the other side of the dropship.

He let out another moan in pain, and Jasper stepped inside the dropship, pushing aside the cloth that hung as a door over the ship.

Bellamy looked over his shoulder at the boy who just walked in, and Indigo felt a hint of tension begin to swirl in the air. Jasper then shook his head in disapproval at Bellamy, before taking a step forward to place his gun down.

Bellamy let out a frustrated sigh, pushing off the table and turning towards Jasper, "Don't you think I want to go after them, too?"

Jasper paused, not looking at Bellamy, "If it was you out there, you think Monty, Clarke, or Finn would hide behind these walls?" he asked, lifting his head to look at Bellamy, his gaze lightly flickering between Indigo and Bellamy.

Another sigh fell from Bellamy's lips, and he stepped forward shaking his head, "No." he answered, causing Indigo to step backโ€” not wanting to be a part of their conversation, "They'd go after me. Then they'd be dead, too."

Jasper rolled his eyes and went to step away but Bellamy quickly spoke, his tone raising, "I am doing what I think is right for the group." he scolded the you get boy.

Jasper shook his head, and began to walk forward, setting his gun down on the table left of Indigo, "It's funny, you didn't think that way when Octavia was missing." Jasper then began to walk awayโ€” heading to the ladder.

"Where are you going?" Bellamy snapped at Jasper, but that only sparked more anger in Jasperโ€” Indigo could tell.

Jasper then turned on his heel to face Bellamy, raising his hand to salute him, "More gunpowder for your minefield... sir." Jasper dropped his hand to the side, giving Indigo a look, before climbing up the ladder.

Bellamy watched Jasper storm away. Frustrated, Bellamy sighed out of exhaustion and let his head dip to look down at his shoes.

Indigo chewed the inside of her cheek and picked the rock from the table again. Her fingers ran over the spiky crystals that sparkled under the dim dropship lighting.

"Water..." Myles struggled, he was doing worseโ€” before he could have a conversation with Indigo, but now he couldn't, "please..."

Bellamy and Indiho let their gaze dart over to the boy who was struggling to breathe. Indigo went to step forward, but Bellamy put a hand out in front of her.

"I'll get him water," he told her, going to walk away, but Indigo quickly grabbed the sleeve of his jacket, frowning at him.

"You're doing the best you can, Bellamy." she assured him, "And if..." Indigo almost winced at the 'if' that fell from her tongue, "If Clarke, Monty, or Finn are out there, they'll figure out how to get back. They're smart."

Bellamy furrowed his eyebrows at her assuring words. He usually hated pity, but this wasn't pityโ€” it didn't seem like pity. Something twisted behind his eyes. Something made him rethink everything about Indigo.

Indigo let go of his sleeve, tossing the geode at himโ€” which he caught immediately, "Bring me some water too?" she asked, giving him a small sarcastic smile.

He gave her a quick nodโ€” not responding to anything she had said. Bellamy then left the dropship, causing Indigo to let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding.

Indigo let out a shaky breathโ€” the mask she had been holding up began to crumble. She felt like shit because everything was weighing on Bellamyโ€” plus the ripple in their friendship.

She stepped behind the ladder and looked over the table that was covered in vintage army men that Clarke had found in some old bunker.

All the action figures looked like antsโ€” all in a formation. War constantly wanted to rage over the camp, but somehow was at a low at the moment.

They all knew that war crept the corner daily, not knowing if it was their last day aliveโ€” or their last day in the camp. No one knew anything.

It was quiet in the dropship, almost suffocating Indigo. But a sudden noise of plastic crinkling, followed by muffled shouts caused Indigo to quickly turn around.

Murphy.

Fucking Murphy.

Murphy was strangling Myles with a plastic tarp, a blank expression on his faceโ€” as if he didn't even mind that he was taking someone's life with his own hands.

Indigo froze in fearโ€” as if words were physically taken from her mouth. Her eyes darted around the ship, looking for some kind of solution. Murphy still hadn't seen her, so as long as she made a plan in time she'd be safe, right?

Jasper's gun was still on the table that was a few feet away from her. Indigo was scared to move in fear that Murphy would see her and then take her out.

She shouldn't have asked Bellamy to keep him in camp, to give him a second chance that he would just throw away anyway.

Murphy was mumbling some words to Myles, who was on the brink of deathโ€” which only made Murphy seem more psycho than he was.

Indigo then saw a shadow slowly creep over her. She looked up to see Jasper slowly climbing down the ladder, lifting his finger to his lips to keep her quiet.

Teary-eyed, Indigo nodded. Jasper then slowly climbed down the ladder, and Indigo slowly stepped towards the gun that lay on the table next to her.

A loud clink erupted through the room, and Myles's muffled shouts began to die downโ€” making Indigo's heart hurt. Murphy then turned to look the duo's way and held the tarp tighter around the boy's neck.

Myles went silent, and Murphy pulled the tarp off the boy's neck after seeing the two witnesses. Indigo's body froze again, and she swallowed thickly under Murphy's gaze.

He looked like he was trying to play the victim, "He stopped breathing, I was-" Murphy slowly stood up straight, a sad faux expression falling on his face, "I was trying to help him."

Jasper and Indigo gave him a nodโ€” that looked so hesitant and fake, that even Murphy could tell. Jasper hopped off the ladder, his movements slow, trying not to poke the bear with Murphy.

Jasper then glanced Indigo's way, since she was right by his gun. Murphy followed Jasper's gaze and caught onto what he was trying to tell Indigo with his eyes.

Murphy then rushed to the gun, causing Indigo to be fast with her movements, and grab the gun. But the metal wasn't in her grasp for long, because Murphy pulled the gun from her hand, and pushed her to the ground.

Jasper rushed over, but Murphy quickly lifted the
gunโ€” cocking it causing Jasper to stop in his tracks, and take a step backward, further from Indigo.

Indigo held her head since she hit the metal ground so hard. Her head pounded in pain, and she tried to hold herself up with her elbows.

Murphy's eyes were darting all over the place as if he were in some kind of trance, pulling him into a whirlpool of a frenzy.

"Murphy," Jasper started slowly, while raising his hands in defense, "just put the gun down." he tried to reason with the crazy boy.

Murphy stared at the two, his eyes darting between them both, before looking over towards the, now, dead body of Myles, "He-" he sighed, "He tried to kill me."

Jasper quickly looked at the dead body, then at Indigo, before stepping back quickly. Murphy then lifted the gun to him again.

"Hey, don't move!" he shouted at Jasper, while Indigo let out a small wince in pain, as she tried to keep her eyes open, but they kept flickering shutโ€” the pain in her head causing her vision to spin.

"Okay." Jasper whispered, easing his hands in defense once again, "Okay." he repeated in the same whisper, "It's cool." he shook his head, taking another glance at Myles.

"No, it's not." Murphy shook his head, "You know what'll happen to me if you tell Bellamy." he said in a low tone, before glancing at Indigo, "And, you know his girlfriend, will tell him."

The situation was so intense that Indigo didn't have the time or energy to snap at Murphy for assuming such a thing. The static rang through the air.

"Tell Bellamy what?" Bellamy's voice sounded through the walkie-talkie that Jasper held secretly in his pocket. Jasper closed his eyes in relief that Bellamy had heard their conversation.

Indigo almost laughed at the fact that Jasper outwitted Murphy, who had an ego so big that it almost suffocated you when you were near him.

"Give me the radio, Jasper." Murphy hissed out, his tone condescending and commanding. Jasper then slowly pulled the radio from his pocket.

Jasper then slowly lifted the radio, then quickly spoke into it, "Murphy has a gun, he hurt Indigo, and killed Myles-" his words were quicker than Indigo had ever heard him speak before, but was quickly cut off by Murphy yelling out in frustration, and knocking Jasper out with his gun.
