"THANKS," BELLAMY MUTTERED against her neck, whilst she slowly lifted the tarp that led into the dropship. Indigo hummed in response, while he coughed once again.

"You don't have to thank me." Indigo gave him a small smile, while she tried to help him stand on his own, he looked down at herโ€” his eye bags dark, his eyes bloodshot, his nose bloody.

"Bell?" Octavia rushed over, "No." she muttered under her breath in worry, as Indigo still helped hold him up, "Clear some space." Octavia commanded some other helpers, "Help her lay him down."

Indigo slowly helped lay down Bellamy onto a cushion that was on the floor. Bellamy then began to choke, and Indigo felt the reality of the situation. Blood began to pour from his mouth, and Octavia lay him on his side.

"Shit, Bell..." Octavia said breathlessly, worry coating her voice, as he coughed uncontrollably, as crimson shot from his mouth to the floor.

"Fuck." Indigo cursed, while she grabbed a nearby cloth, her knees already on the metal floor of the dropship, "Poor thing." Indigo wiped the blood from his mouthโ€” the sight of the crimson almost made her scream in worry.

Indigo honestly didn't know what she would do without Bellamy. Who would she bicker with? Who would teach her how to properly shoot a gun? Who would bring her jacket when she asked?

Biting back tears, Indigo continued to clean his face. Octavia then rolled him on his back when he was done spitting up the red that now sprayed the floor.

"Hey, big brother." Octavia smiled down at him, trying to be reassuring, her breath quickโ€” obviously worried about her brother.

Bellamy's breathing was uneven, as he looked up at the two girls he adoredโ€” for completely different reasons. He wouldn't ever say it out loud to either one of them though.

Octavia patted his forehead with a damp cloth, while Indigo cleaned his face, the blood starting to dry. Indigo gave him a small smile, trying not to show him any other emotion, in an assuring manner.

Bellamy then let a few tears fall from his eyes, his voice weak, "I'm scared." he croaked out at the two, causing Indigo's heart to drop to the core of the earth.

What was she going to do without him?

"I won't let anything happen to you." Octavia assured, "I promise." she barely spoke over a whisper, while Indigo sat backโ€” all the blood cleaned from his face.

What was she going to do without him?

"That's what I said to you the day you were born," Bellamy spoke in a broken-up whisperโ€” his breathing never calming down.

What was she going to do without him?

"I know." Octavia nodded with a smile, "You told me that, like, one thousand times." she let out a small laugh, trying so hard to lift his mood.

Bellamy's hand moved down and held onto Indigo's arm. She finally snapped from her daze, and looked over at himโ€” his eyes fluttering shut.

"I'm-" he choked on his own words, "I'm glad you're both here," Bellamy admitted, which only made Indigo's heart race even moreโ€” and it wasn't because of that icky feelingโ€” it was because he would never admit that on a normal day.

Worry ate away at her thoughtsโ€” she wondered if she was now bound to take his place when he was gone, making the decisions Clarke couldn't, taking care of Octavia, learning how to be the best gunner in camp ( she'll never tell him that he is the best gunner ).

"Just get some rest now, okay?" Octavia whispered to him trying to calm the worry that spun in his head. Bellamy nodded and slightly leaned his head over to the side, closing his eyes.

Indigo was asleepโ€” her thoughts twisting her head into a horrid nightmare that felt rarely ending. Her head was leaned against Bellamy's thigh, while his hand stayed on her upper arm.

Indigo was wary about sleeping near himโ€” she didn't want to see him dead. 'Cause then it would be real, she couldn't pretendโ€” she'd have his face engraved in her skull.

But she knew he was going to wake up. Right? He had to wake up. The camp would literally blow up if he wasn't there to control it.

The sudden movement made Indigo stir in her sleep. Indigo then slowly lifted her headโ€” rubbing her eyes with her sweat-covered hands.

Indigo blinked her eyes open and saw Bellamy awake. Indigo let out a sigh of reliefโ€” the world wasn't going to fall apart now.

Earth blessed her with Bellamyโ€” there was no way it was going to take him from her... right?

"Fuck you." Indigo cursed him, "I thought you were fucking done for." she frowned, as she slowly sat upโ€” his eye bags more evident than before.

"Were you scared?" he asked, a hint of amusement in his tone, and Indigo scoffedโ€” her ponytail looser than it was before, which only added to Bellamy's amusement.

"No, I'm being serious." Indigo kept her gaze on himโ€” her tone stern and too formal for Bellamy's liking, "Don't pull that shit again."

"I couldn't help it?" Bellamy said more as a question, as Indigo moved to sit next to him on the mattress-type cushion.

Indigo just awkwardly leaned against himโ€” giving him a side hug, because a normal hug would be too serious. Plus, she hated receiving or giving physical touch.

"It was that bad, huh?" he asked, patting Indigo's back as she gave him a half embrace. Indigo shot him an unamused glare and pulled away from him.

"Sorry, I was trying to be sweet." she rolled her eyes, as Murphy came over, kneeling with a tin can full of water, which only caused Bellamy to give him a death glare.

"Here." Murphy offered, but only earned Bellamy pushing the can into his chest, spilling slightly on him. Bellamy then leaned backโ€” not daring to look at Murphy.

"Get the hell away from me." Bellamy spat at the cut-up boy. Indigo hit his arm, and sighed, giving Murphy an apologetic look.

"Bellamy, you're sick, okay?" Indigo began slowly as if he were a childโ€” but she wanted him to feel that way, "Thanks." Indigo smiled once again at Murphy, taking the can from his hand.

"Look, I'm just trying to help." Murphy tried to reason with Bellamy, as his nose ran with more crimson, "Here." Murphy handed him a cloth for his nose, but stubborn Bellamy used his sleeve to wipe it away.

"When I get better, if you're still here-" Bellamy began to threaten, but Indigo quickly elbowed Bellamy, a scolding look etching her features.

"It's okay, Murphy, I've got this." Indigo tilted her head away for him to leave, "Thanks, again." Indigo gave Bellamy another glare.

Indigo took a sip of the water, and sighed, before handing it to Bellamy, "Leave him alone, he'll be fine for now." she let her eyes drift over to Murphy, who was giving Clarke water.

"For now," Bellamy grumbled, and took a sip out of the tin can, causing Indigo to let out a small sigh of reliefโ€” she stared at him for a moment, just relieved that he was alive.

"Are you feeling better?" Indigo asked, her eyes falling to her dirty Converseโ€” that rarely left her feetโ€” while she stuffed her hands in the pockets of her puffer jacket.

"Yeah." Bellamy said, lowering the tin can from his lips, and Indigo slowly nodded at his responseโ€” an awkward tension falling over them, "Um," he tried to break the tension and cleared his voice, "have you seen Octavia?"

Indigo thought for a momentโ€” she fell asleep pretty quickly after she left to go help more people, "She was up all night helping everyone." Indigo turned her head to look at Bellamy, "Murphy gave her a break, I think."

At the mention of the boy's name Bellamy clenched his jaw, "Don't tell me you trust him now." he scoffed in a low tone, which made Indigo shake her head slowly.

"Trust? No." Indigo then leaned back and chewed on her bottom lip, "But I do believe in second chances." she let out a sigh with the words.

Bellamy looked away from Indigoโ€” as if she had just slapped him in the face. Maybe she should've, just to make sure he was real and she wasn't dreaming that he was alive.

"It's almost dawn." Bellamy commented, which caused Indigo to look at him, "We better get everyone inside. If we lock the doors maybe the grounders will think we're not home." he thought aloud, his eyes darting back to Indigo's piercing blue ones.

Indigo furrowed her eyebrows at Bellamy in confusion, "Not everyone is sick." she shook her headโ€” not exactly understanding what he was saying.

"Sick is better than dead," he said in almost a sharp tone, his gaze drifting away from Indigo, as she gave him a questioning look.

Indigo then realized what he was talking about.

"You don't think Jasper and Finn are gonna pull it off." Indigo blurted, her gaze slowly falling back to her shoes. Bellamy then looked over at Indigo, his gaze burning through her skull.

Indigo looked up at him, "Do you?" he asked, and Indigo looked away from Bellamy, a shaky sigh escaping her lips, as anxiety began to shriek through her veins.

"Okay." Indigo nodded, "I'll get everyone inside." Indigo began to get up, and Bellamy nodded, as she walked over to Clarke.

Bellamy, Clarke, and Indigo all stood at the side of the dropship, escorting people into the ship that brought them down. The sun was slowly coming upon themโ€” the birds sang as if it was just another day on the radiation-soaked planet.

"It's been too long." Indigo picked at her nails, as the campers stepped into the dropshipโ€” their shoes clinging against the metal.

"We tried our best, Indigo." Clarke pats her arm, trying to comfort the anxiety-ridden girl, "We tried our best." she repeated, stepping away to help a younger sick girl onto the dropship.

Indigo watched her step awayโ€” her eyes glimmering with hope of some sort. She was envious of Clarke. She knew how to lead, she knew how to help people.

Bellamy nudged her with his elbow, "They won't get through." he tried to calm her nerves, "If the ship made it down here, then it can protect us again." he placed a hand on her shoulder, before quickly taking it offโ€” as if she burnt him.

Indigo looked over at him, a hint of something glimmered in her eye, and her heart sped upโ€” and it wasn't because they were doomed to a war.

'You did good, Indigo.'

'You deserve it.'

The words that he spokeโ€” and that he had written in the back of her mindโ€” only echoed in the back of her mind every time she looked at him.

Indigo opened her mouth to say something that she wouldn't have said if they weren't doomed to die within the next hour. But the moment her mouth opened, a large booming noise echoed through the trees.

Bellamy's eyes ripped from her and looked over the trees. Indigo followed his gaze over the trees and saw the large cloud of smoke that bellowed out from the direction of the bridge.

Maybe Earth knew when was the right time to say something. Her hand reached up to the silver Earth pendant that was hidden under her shirt.

"They did it." Bellamy stared in awe and disbelief at the smoke that erupted into the blue morning sky, Indigo let out a breath that she didn't even know she was holding.

Something she read in a book a long time ago echoed in her head as she stared up at the smoke, "I am become death, destroyer of worlds." she recited aloud, and Bellamy's eyes slowly drifted down to Indigo.

Indigo felt his gaze and looked up at him, "It's Oppenheimer, the man who built the first-" Indigo lifted her gaze back to the sky, and went to ramble about the historic manโ€” but was quickly cut off.

"I know who Oppenheimer is," Bellamy said dryly, causing Indigo to exchange a glance with him, a small smile creeping onto her lips at the fact they were going to be okay.

The moment Jasper and Monty walked through the gates, cheers erupted through the crowd of campers. Indigo clapped her hands togetherโ€” which she hadn't really ever done before.

She let out a small 'whoo!' when they walked by her. Jasper winked at her, and Monty just gave her a wide smile, unsure how to take the sudden recognition.

A small smile tugged at her lips as people patted the duo on the back when they walked by. Indigo knew they deserved it, they did so much for the campโ€” they sacrificed so much, and it always went right under the rug.

Indigo wanted to hope that they could forever stay in this moment. She loved the fun times they had on Earthโ€” but it always spun them into a curse of something that would taint their lives.

Swallowing thickly, Indigo let her hand fall to her stomach, she could still imagine the unbearable pain that she felt the moment she got it.

The seizure was one of the most scariest things she could have ever experienced. She felt so out of control that day and only knew more like that day would come.

Jasper and Monty then rushed over to Indigo and gave her goofy smiles. Indigo snapped out of her daze and gave them a questioning look.

"You want moonshine?" Monty asked, the words spilling from his mouth in an almost giddy manner. Indigo let out a small laugh.

She then stared at the two for a momentโ€” a small smirk then began to twitch her lips upward, as she looked around the celebrating camp.
