THE TV LOUDLY played from the middle of the camp. Indigo stood in the crowd that surrounded the screenโ that was messily set up.
Indigo didn't really pay any attention to what Jaha rambled on about, because it was always the same thingโ every year. Staring at the screen, Indigo most likely could recite the words that came staticky man's ( Jaha's ) mouth.
"Next year... on the ground," Jaha announced, which pulled Indigo from her trance, since the words were new to the speech.
A small scoff escaped Indigo's lips at his words. After he had thrown a large group of juveniles onto a radioactive planet to see if it was survivableโ not even knowing if they could breathe the air.
"Right." Miller spoke from beside Indigo, "After we did all the work." he gestured to the crowd of juveniles with his hand. Miller then turned back to the TV, "Someone shut him up."
Indigo glanced at the boy, then back to the TVโ wanting to have some sort of entertainment. Raven then gave him an amused look.
"You shut up, Miller." Raven said, glancing back at the TV, "No one's forcing you to watch." she concluded, her eyes back on the fuzzy screen.
Miller stayed silent, as they all turned back to the TV. Indigo tuned out the Chancellorโ who she was not pleased with, at all, and let her mind hide back into her thoughts.
"You did good, Indigo."
Indigo still couldn't get the silly words from her head. It was taunting herโ haunting her. She didn't understand why it had stuck to her so much...it was just words.
The porthole window in her cell would hold this over
her head ( literally )โ if she was still back in her cell. But she's not. So, no more window to scream at her.
"Whoo!" a loud noise broke Indigo away from her spacey mind once again, causing her to turn and see Jasperโ with a large vat of something.
"Yeah!" Jasper hollers, his goggles over his eyes, "Monty strikes again!" hi slid his goggles back to the top of his head, "Call this batch Unity juice!" he exclaimed, while running through the cheering crowd, "Who's thirsty?"
Indigo gave the boy a confused look as he passed by her, pouring a clear liquid into many delinquents cups. A large crowd began to form around the boy, causing Indigo to roll her eyesโ now, understanding what the liquid was.
The sun was already falling behind the mountains,
and Indigo stuffed her hands into her jacket
pocketsโ walking away from the scene.
Indigo then saw Bellamy standing by the gate, gun in
handsโ watching over the large crowd, an, almost, smile gracing his lips.
'You did good, Indigo.'
Breath got caught in her throat at the sight of Bellamy, and some sort of almost anxious feeling fluttered in her stomach.
'Ew.'
Indigo shook her weird thoughts awayโ hating every moment she felt the odd emotion that had been constantly polluting her brain for a while now.
"Indie." a voice too familiar rang through her ears, causing her to want to just collapse and die. Indigo then chewed on her cheek and slowly turned around to face the person she had beenโ semi-avoiding.
Bellamy stared at her for a momentโ confused about her demeanor. Indigo then glanced around, then back to Bellamy, noddingโ silently asking 'What?'
"You enjoying Unity Day?" Bellamy asked, very obviously trying to spark a small conversation with the dark-haired brunette who just stared blankly at him.
"Yeah, I guess." Indigo shrugged, and stepped forward, glancing at the sea of the people in the camp. Bellamy furrowed his eyebrows at herโ giving her a slightly amused look.
"You guess?" he asked, "What does that mean?" Bellamy inquired, turning his body towards Indigo, who eyed him for a moment.
"I don't know." she said blandly, staring at her shoes, "I've never liked Unity Day." Indigo shrugged again and glanced up at Bellamy.
"Well," Bellamy began, "I think this is the best Unity Day ever." he slightly tilted his head to the side, his eyes not even attempting to break away from Indigo.
Indigo let out a light laugh at his words, and lifted her head to look at him again, "I don't know, I just don't really think that now is a good time to be having a party." she glanced at the large crowd of, now, drunk kids.
Bellamy shook his head, "Relax." he began, the moon began to rise over the camp that was booming, "I got security covered." he stepped forward.
Indigo then looked away from Bellamyโ looking back to the party that was jumping around the bonfire. Bellamy stared at Indigo for a brief moment before speaking.
"Why don't you go get a drink?" Bellamy broke the small silence between them, causing Indigo to turn her attention back to Bellamy, "You look like you could use one."
Indigo rolled her eyes at him, "That sounded like a half insult." she said, causing Bellamy to let out a small chuckle at her words, "But, I could use more than one."
"It was a half insult." Bellamy gave her a small amused smile, before pausing briefly again, "Then have more than one." he shrugged, and Indigo chewed on her cheek to contain a small smile.
'You did good, Indigo.'
'Ew.'
"Indigo," Bellamy began, "the Exodus ship comes down in here in two days. After that... the party's over." he then slightly pushed Indigo's shoulder, "Have some fun while you still can."
Indigo gave him a small smile, but he wasn't finished talking. Bellamy dropped his hand to his side and gave Indigo a small smile.
"You deserve it," Bellamy said in a softer tone. Indigo froze at the words that just spilled from Bellamy's mouth.
What was he trying to do? Kill her?
Now that sentence would be replaying in her head over and over.
'You deserve it.'
'You did good, Indigo.'
It was like it was stuck in her skin. 'Ew. Ew. Ew.' She didn't know if any 'Ew's could even cover how odd she felt.
"Um," Indigo began, stepping backward, "Yeah, um, I guess." she shook her head, trying to empty the stuttering from her mouth, "Okay." she paused for a moment, "But so do you," she saidโ almost trying to invite him to hang out with her.
Bellamy shook his head at her, "I'll have my fun when the grounders come." he said in a quippy tone, causing Indigo to just give him a slightly amused look.
"Alright." she sighed and began to step off into the crowd of drunk teens who had no idea if the grounders were coming.
Indigo glanced over her shoulder at Bellamy, who just gave her a small smileโ to which she returned, then looked forward and continued to walk to Jasper, who had the vat of alcohol.

Fuzzy. That's how Indigo's brain felt. But in a good
way?โ She hadn't quite figured that out yet. The first cup of moonshine felt like battery acid slithering down her throat.
After that, she got used to it. She didn't know how many cups she had, but it was enough to have more voices play in her headโ and her cheeks felt warm.
Indigo was dancing with Jasperโ not slow dancing, like funny( ? ) dancing. Indigo couldn't figure out why some things were funny that had never been funny before.
The flashes of death stopped flickering throughout her
mindโ but it was because she was too busy laughing. But her thoughts always trailed back to one thing: Bellamy.
'Ew.'
She hated how she felt about him. It didn't feel right. She just assumed it was the radiationโ or something of that sort.
Breaking away from Jasper, to get another cup of moonshine that was on a tableโ that felt too far from her. Indigo poured another cup of the burning liquid into her tin cup.
Indigo glanced around, observing the happy campโ wishing it was always like this. Her eyes wandered over the kids, then back to the gate.
'You did good, Indigo.'
'You deserve it.'
Bellamy was still in the same spot where she had last seen him. Indigo felt a wave of heat rush to her cheeksโ but just assumed it was the moonshine.
Impulsively, Indigo walked over to the 'guard', tin cup in hand. The moment she stepped in front of himโ he gave her a confused look.
"Hi." Indigo blurted, and a perplexed look formed on his face. Indigo stared at him for a moment, scars on his face, from two nights ago, lit in the torchlight.
"Hi?" Bellamy said, but it came out more as a question as if he was questioning why she had come up to him. Bellamy's eyes darted around her slightly flushed face, and then down to the cup in her hand.
Indigo stared at him for a moment before opening her mouth to speak again but quickly closed it. Indigo then stared at Bellamy's face again, her eyes darting all over it.
"It sucks that you're handsome since you're such an ass all the time." Indigo speech was slightly slurred, a frown appearing on her lips, "But it's okay because you just redeemed yourself." she added quicklyโ referring to the night of Dax's death, her eyes trailing to the gate behind Bellamy.
Bellamy stared at herโ a light amount of shock gracing his features, "What?" he furrowed his eyebrows, then glanced at her cup again, "Indie, you're drunk."
Indigo sipped on the tin cup, and tilted her head at him, "I'm not, Bell." she replied blandly, her tone slightly higher than usualโ the nickname falling from her tongue for a second time.
Bellamy let out a small laugh and shook his head at her, "Okay, sure." he said dryly, "You should go lay down before you do something stupid."
"I-" Indigo began, but quickly took a sip of the 'battery acid' liquid, "I won't." she shrugged, "What would I even do?" her tone was over-the-top questioning.
"Something stupid," he repeated flatly, as Indigo just stared at himโ her expression and demeanor slightly giddy.
Indigo then cocked her head to the side at his flat tone, "Are you mad at me?" she asked, her tone growing lower.
Bellamy furrowed his eyebrows at her again, "No." he replied, and Indigo sighed, dosing the rest of her tin cup's contents.
"Are you sure?" she asked, dragging out her words, eyeing his hair then looking back at his face. Bellamy watched her eyes trail over him and kept giving her an odd look.
"I am sure." Bellamy nodded and eyed her demeanor towards him. Indigo then gave him a large smile and looked away.
"Okay," she said blankly, her mouth feeling oddly
dryโ begging her for moonshine, Indigo then turned her head back to Bellamy, "Are you bored just standing here?"
"Not really. No." he shrugged and glanced behind Indigo at the Unity Day party. Indigo then glanced over her shoulder at the party, then back to Bellamy.
'You did good, Indigo.'
'You deserve it.'
Indigo squeezed her eyes shut, trying to calm her thoughts. Bellamy then averted his gaze back to her, giving her a light concerned look.
"You okay?" he asked, causing her to open her eyes, and slowly nod at himโ blinking fast for a quick moment and rubbing her eyes with her free hand that wasn't gripping the tin cup.
"Yeah." Indigo said in a whisper, "Just, uh..." she stared at his face for a moment, "tired." she lied, and he gave her a small nod.
"That's why you should go lay down." Bellamy suggested, and Indigo shook her head 'no' at him. Indigo then stepped closer to him.
"I don't want you to be alone." she slightly frowned, and Bellamy slightly eyes widened at her words, not expecting her to say that.
"I'll be fine." he said oddly quick, "I'll be fine," Bellamy repeatedโ his tone not as rushed. Indigo shrugged and shook her head once again.
"I want to stay with you though," she added, a warmth rising in her already flushed face. Bellamy stared at her for a momentโ not saying anything.
"I think you should go drink some water, Indigo," Bellamy said suddenly, unsure how to react to how she was acting toward him.
"No." Indigo shrugged, "I'm okay." she tossed the tin cup onto the ground, then looked up at Bellamyโ admiring him.
Bellamy pressed his lips into a thin line, as he stared at Indigo, who gave him a warm smile. He opened his mouth to say somethingโ but quickly closed it, choosing not to speak.
After a long silence of the two just staring at one another, Bellamy broke the silenceโ causing Indigo to break from her trance.
"I can't guard the gate if I'm distracted," Bellamy said flatly, finally adding to the small conversation. Indigo tilted her head at him once again.
"I distract you?" Indigo asked, her words slightly slurring. Bellamy sighed and let out a small scoff, his lips slightly tugging into a smile.
"I didn't say that." Bellamy gave a small amused look, and Indigo chewed on her bottom lip, thinkingโ and slightly swaying from the alcohol.
"But you implied it." Indigo gave him a small smirk and tapped on the gun in his hands. Bellamy looked down at her index finger that tapped on the gunmetal.
"Well, you're talking to me." he added, "So, yeah. You're distracting me." Bellamy glanced away from Indigo, and she pulled her hand from the metal.
The two stayed silent again, Bellamy's eyes darting everywhere but Indigoโ and Indigo's eyes not leaving Bellamy's freckled face.
'You did good, Indigo.'
'You deserve it.'
"You have nice hair." Indigo blurted, her eyes staring up at Bellamy, who furrowed his eyebrows at her words once again, "And a nice face." she added on quickly.
Bellamy then averted his gaze back to her, staring at her for a moment before speaking, "I definitely think you've had too much to drink." he eyed her, and she shrugged, giving him a small smile.
Indigo opened her mouth to say something, but Clarke quickly walked overโ almost in a paranoid manner, as she glanced around.
Clarke then stopped in her tracks and eyed the two for a minuteโ a smirk threatening to play on her lips. Indigo gave Clarke a confused look and felt her eyes get heavy.
"Hey, I need to talk to you." Clarke began, her eyes landing on Bellamy, and Indigo stared blankly at the twoโ the alcohol still bubbling in her system.
"Having fun yet, princess?" Bellamy asked in a sarcastic
toneโ a small smirk on his lips. The nickname slightly made Indigo grimace, and something sick twisted in her
stomachโ and it wasn't the moonshine.
Clarke let out an irritated sigh, "I'm serious." she said seriously, and Bellamy glanced at Indigo, who was standing quite close to him.
"You always are," he began, a hint of annoyance in his tone, "so talk." he paused for Clarke to begin to speak, but she just stared at the two.
She let out another sigh, and paused for a moment before going and speaking, "Finn's set up a meeting with the grounder." Clarke spoke in a low, quiet, tone.
Indigo's eyes widened, and then she eyed the twoโ knowing that Octavia had been filling her in on sneaking out to see her grounder boyfriend.
Bellamy's expression fell serious, and he looked between the two. Nobody spoke for a momentโ but then Clarke finally broke the silence.
"I'm leaving to go talk to them," she said in almost a whisper, knowing that Bellamy was upset at the fact that she was trying to make peace.
"Because you figure that impaling people on spears is code for; 'let's be friends'?" he asked dryly, glancing at the drunk teens who hopped around the camp, Clarke opened her mouth to say something but Bellamy quickly spoke, "Have you lost your damn mind?"
Indigo then felt her ears get warm, and tucked her hair behind her earsโ not exactly wanting to be in the uncomfortable conversation.
"I think it might be worth a shot." she whispered, and glanced at Indigo, "I mean, we do have to live with these people." Clarke tried to reason with Bellamy, who still had a stern look spread on his face.
Bellamy looked over at Indigo, "They'll probably gut you," he began, looking back over to Clarke, "string you up as a warning."
Clarke nodded with a sigh, "Well, that's why I'm here." she paused, and Bellamy and Indigo gave her a perplexed look, "I need you to follow us, be our backup."
Bellamy looked around, and licked his lips in thought, before looking back at Clarke, "Does Finn know about this?"
Clarke paused, and Indigo stared at the two who stared at each otherโ a hint of want rising in her as if she didn't like that he and Clarke were talking. Which was odd because they talk all the time.
Clarke then shook her head 'no', "Finn doesn't need to know..." Clarke glanced at her shoes, then back up at Bellamy, "and, Bellamy..." she hesitated before speaking, "bring guns."
Bellamy nodded and glanced away from Clarke, as she walked away. Bellamy then looked over at Indigo, and sighed at her drunken state, as she gave him a sweet smileโ which slightly weirded him out since she wasn't the fondest of him.
"Go lay down, Indie." Bellamy put a hand on her shoulder, "Take care of yourself, okay?" he asked, and she frowned, shaking 'no' her head at him.
"No, I wanna go." she shrugged his hand off her shoulder, "I'm fine." Indigo insisted to which he gave her a 'really?' look, "Really, I'm okay."
Bellamy sighed and shook his head 'no' at him, "Even if you were," he raised an eyebrow at her, "you're a shit shot."
Indigo scoffed at his words, "Says the guy who didn't even correctly kill the Chancellor." she snapped, a hiccup escaping her lips.
Bellamy stared at her in surprise for a moment, "Low blow," he then let out a small chuckle, "but that's the Indigo I know."
Indigo then let her lips lift back into a smile, "So I can go?" she questioned, and Bellamy stared at her state for a moment more.
"No," he replied, and Indigo then frowned again, and Indigo then scoffed, another hiccup escaping her lips, causing her to cover her mouthโ in an attempt to convince Bellamy she was fine.
"I'll just drink more." Indigo then smirked, "And do something stupid." she tilted her at Bellamy, who just stared at her blankly.
"Have fun, Indie." he said, patting her arm, "Be safe." was all he said, and began to walk off, to which Indigo followed.
"I'm going." Indigo spoke from beside him, as they walked through the drunk camp, "I'll just follow." she added, and Bellamy glanced at her, then in front of him.
"Knock yourself out." was all he said, and Indigo just scoffed, a smile dancing on her lipsโ the alcohol still changing her mood towards Bellamy.
