ONE OF THE worst ideas Indigo had ever had was to go with Bellamy to hunt down Murphy. Why did she do it? You may askโ but ultimately she didn't know the answer herself.
Indigo could barely hold herself up every dayโ so how was she supposed to go and help Charlotte ( who was a killer ) from someone who was going to kill her? Bellamy knew how to fight, but Indigo figured that if worst came to worstโ she'd be dead by the end of the night, and Bellamy most likely would be alive.
Indigo had her bagโ full of rations and rags, which she would occasionally dab Bellamy's gash with, but she always had an annoyed look on her face.
It was frightening to Indigoโ since it was pitch black. The green forest usually almost hurt Indigo's eyes at the vibrance of it. But now, now it was darkโ misleading since she couldn't see where they were.
Bellamy and Indigo walked silently through the
forest. Indigo didn't usually like the quietโ but as she had thought before, she liked it when Bellamy shut his mouth.
The anxiety filling Indigo's body never calmed
downโ staying at an all-time high. Although the silence was nice, it didn't cancel out the constant insanity of their situation, plus the grounder-infested forest didn't calm her at all.
Indigo then saw some glowing in the corner of her
eyeโ causing her to stop in her tracks, Bellamy walked for a moment more, before noticing her absent presence.ย Bellamy turned to Indigoโ who was star-stuck at something.
"What are you doing?" Bellamy asked annoyed, "We don't have time for breaks." he scolded, but Indigo didn't even glance at himโ her eyes glued to something at her left.
Bellamy opened his mouth to scold her once againโ as if she were a childโ but he then glanced in the direction of what she was gawking at. Bellamy then looked at the glowingโ the bioluminescent mushrooms.
Indigo then glanced at Bellamy before looking back at the beautiful scene, "It's beautiful." Indigo
gawkedโ and Bellamy averted his eyes back to her.
"Yeah." he murmured, before quickly taking his eyes off of Indigo, "We have to go, Indigo," Bellamy said, averting his eyes back to the shorter girl in front of him.
Indigo nodded, not taking her eyes off the glow that reflected in her blue eyes. She then sighed, taking her eyes off of the small scene that caused her anxiety to soothe for a moment.
"Sorry, yeah." Indigo said quickly, keeping her eyes on her shoes for a momentโ before looking up at Bellamy who was already staring down at her, "Let me see your head."
Bellamy let out a small irritated sigh as she stepped up onto a boulderโ getting to his height. Indigo then pulled on the back of his shoulders, causing him to let out an annoyed huff at her action. She then moved one hand from his shoulder, brushing some of his hair out of the way, and took a rag from her bag, and slowly dabbed the wound.
Her hand was still on his shoulder, while his back was facing towards her, Indigo felt him tense in pain at the contact of the cloth with the cutโ so she dabbed the cut slower. Indigo then took the cloth away from the cut and slowly took her hand off his shoulder.
"It's stopped bleeding now." Indigo spokeโ breaking the odd silence that had fallen over them, causing Bellamy to turn around and look at her, causing her to be face to face with him, instead of being slightly shorter, "It could get infected still."
"Who are you? Clarke?" Bellamy quipped, but a blank expression still was present on his face. Indigo just scoffed at his words, her eyes darting all around his freckled face.
"Sure, if that's what you'd like," Indigo said dryly, as Bellamy just stared into her eyes. The tension was crushing Indigo, and she was trying her best to break it up.
Bellamy shrugged at her words, "You're not the best in the hospital- or wait, survival category." he corrected his words, a small smirk barely pulling at his lips.
"You don't know me." Indigo rolled her eyes, scoffing at his wordsโ even if he was right, she wasn't going to let him get the satisfaction of knowing it.
"I know you enough." he quickly shot back at her, causing he to just roll her eyes once again, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Do you, now?" Indigo scoffed before speakingโ to which Bellamy nodded, "Enlighten me." Indigo tipped her head back slightly, trying to be somewhat taller than himโ the rock underneath her feet assisting her.
"You stop speaking when anything major happens, and if you do, it's only snappy." he began, "You're all bark no bite." Bellamy saidโ the moment he finished the sentence Indigo's expression slightly faltered, and her head slowly lowered down, "When you murdered your father, you got Octavia arrested." Bellamy said, causing Indigo to quickly glance up at him.
"Wha-" Indigo began but was quickly cut off by Bellamy, his words just treading over herโ clearly not done making his point.
"You're partially good for, Octavia, though." Bellamy half-complemented Indigo, "But I saw you running through the forest. You didn't know what you were doing, so, obviously, you didn't do great in Earth Skills."
"If you shut your mouth right now, I'll forget everything you just said." Indigo snapped at Bellamy, growing angry at his words.
Bellamy just stared at her blankly, "Fine." he paused before speaking. Indigo sighed, hating how easily he read her, or maybe hating the fact he had to pay so much attention to her to know all of thatโ she hadn't decided yet, "But you just proved my point."
"Let's go." Indigo ignored his words, hopping off of the boulder that she had been standing on. Bellamy didn't say anything, and continued to walkโ Indigo following, staying behind him.

A shuffling noise was heard a few feet away from Bellamy and Indigo. Indigo and Bellamy looked at one another in unison after hearing the noise.
Bellamy quickly put his hand on Indigo's upper
backโ which made her want to violently throw up. Bellamy quickly pushed Indigo behind a tree and left her there.
Indigo's heart race quickened at the fact of being
alone. She felt as if she was in her bleak cell
againโ isolated from everyone. The darkness of the forest began to engulf the girlโ causing her breath to quicken.
Bellamy quickly rushed back overโ his hands on Charlotte's forearms, as she screamed. Indigo almost let out a sigh of relief at the sight of Bellamyโ she didn't care who came along, she just didn't want to be alone in the forest...at night.
Indigo quickly stepped forward as she screamed, and Bellamy's me Indigo shushed the girl, knowing she was going to signal Murphy. When she didn't quit screaming, Bellamy quickly used his hand to cover the blonde's mouth.
Indigo then let out a shaky breath as Charlotte slowly began to calm downโ her breathing not as quick. Bellamy then slowly began to remove his hand from the girl's mouth.
Charlotte's eyes darted between the two's quickly, as Bellamy lowered his hands from her forearms. Bellamy then quickly took her forearm and began to pull Charlotte with him.
Indigo quickly followed behindโ confused about why Clarke and Finn weren't with the young girl. Indigo was quickly pulled from her thoughts at Charlotte screaming again.
"Let me go!" Charlotte shoutedโ trying to break free from Bellamy's grasp. Indigo's then grabbed onto her other arm, sternly, as Charlotte continued to fight the two's help.
"We're trying-" Bellamy tried to reason with the girl, but she roughly pulled from Indigo's grasp, causing Indigo to let out an 'ouch!' at the twist, "Hey, hey." Bellamy scolded the girl after she had hurt Indigo. Bellamy then grabbed onto Charlotte tighter, "We're trying to help you."
Bellamy then pulled Charlotte to the sideโ stopping the three's trek. Indigo then gave the girl a scolding look as she tried to fight Bellamy's grip again.
"I'm not your guy's kid! Just stop helping me!" Charlotte shouted at the twoโ who just glanced at one another at her words. Indigo then sighed, and put a hand on the girl's shoulder, but then Charlotte quickly pulled away, running off into the dark forest.
"I'm over here!" Charlotte screamed, but Bellamy and Indigo quickly caught up with the blonde, and Bellamy grabbed her once again.
"Are you trying to get all three of us killed?" Indigo asked, her tone angry at the girlโ still infuriated at the fact she had killed Wells.
"Just-Just go, okay?!" Charlotte's eyes darted between the two, "I'm the one they want." she said
frustratedโ having a death wish to let Murphy get to her.
Indigo and Bellamy sighed in unison, as they both slowly leaned down to the young girl's level. Indigo knew she was a kidโ she was confused. Charlotte was raised on the Ark where everyone was constantly killing one another.
This young girl was messed up in so many waysโ and maybe Indigo was trying to save her because she saw a bit of herself in the young girl.
"Okay," Bellamy began in a soft tone, "Charlotte, listen to me." he paused for a moment, "I won't leave you," Bellamy said, pausing a little before each word.
Indigo's eyes darted to Bellamyโ he wouldn't leave this girl. Indigo never thought she had heard that come from anyone's mouth, which slightly weirded her out, at how she almost audibly 'awed' at his words.
"Please, Bellamy," Charlotte begged, staying quiet for a moment, before trying to break from his grasp again, but failing.
Indigo's eyes then ripped from the two, as she stood up straightโ seeing torches in the distance. Charlotte continued to try and fight Bellamyโ who with ease quickly put her over his shoulder.
"Bellamy." Indigo mustered out, her eyes trained on the torches. Bellamy quickly looked over at the glowing orbs in the distance.
"Shit." he muttered, "Come on," Bellamy called to Indigo, who quickly followed behind, but Charlotte began to shout once she saw the torches in the distance.
"Murphy! I'm over here!" Charlotte screamed so loud that it echoed through the forest. Bellamy began to run with Charlotte over his arm, and Indigo quickly tried to keep up.
They ran mindlessly through the wildernessโ Indigo was scared for her life, the adrenaline coursing through her veins. The two barley adults ran through the night as the sky began to drop water onto themโ making it harder to run.
Earth was crying at the chaosโ almost begging Indigo to do something, but she couldn't. Indigo could barely hold the base up for over an hour when Bellamy was unconsciousโ what the hell was she supposed to do?
"Put me down!" Charlotte shouted as Murphy and his group shouted out for Charlotte. Indigo then
quicklyโ out of instinct, grabbed onto the back of Bellamy's jack sleeve.
They continued to try and lose Murphy and his group, but Bellamy stopped suddenlyโ causing Indigo to look up quickly, seeing a large cliff. Bellamy put down Charlotte and Indigo let go of his sleeve.
"Damn it." Bellamy croaked outโ his breath quick from the constant running. Indigo almost collapsed at how fast her heart was beating, and how quick her breath was.
"Bellamy!" Murphy's voice shouted from behind the three, causing them to quickly turn aroundโ the torches lighting the dark area they had stood in, "You can't fight all of us. Give the kid up." Murphy spat out, glancing at Indigoโ whose hair was a mess from the running, and rain.
"Maybe not, but I guarantee I'll take a few of you with me." Bellamy went to step forward, but Indigo quickly pulled his jacket sleeve, causing him to glance at her.
"Bellamy!" Clarke rushed out of the bushes, causing Indigo to quickly drop his sleeve, "Stop!" she shouted at him, before turning to face Murphy, "This has gone too far. Just calm down. We'll talk about this." the blonde tried to reason.
Murphy glanced at Clarke, then Charlotte, then back to Clarke. Indigo slowly stepped closer to the blonde and nodded at her wordsโ Bellamy almost pulling Indigo back.
"Look, if we-" Indigo went to reason but was quickly cut off by Murphy grabbing her, and twisting her around so that he had her in a headlockโ a knife to her throat.
Indigo's breath was caught in her lungsโ she couldn't breathe again. This was it. She was going to dieโ and by Murphy, the boy she saved in Earth Skills when Pike went crazy on them.
"Let her go!" Clarke shouted, stepping forwardโ trying to stop him from hurting the dark brunette, who looked horribly panicked in his grasp.
"I'm sick of listening to all of you talk." Murphy spat out, and Bellamy stepped forward to stop Murphy, but Murphy pulled her closer, tightening his grip on Indigo, "I will slit your little girlfriend's throat." Murphy spat out, but the situation was so stressfulโ that they didn't try and bite back at the comment.
"No, please." Charlotte begged, "Please don't hurt her." Charlotte's tone was desperateโ watching Indigo, the older girl who acted as an older sibling... maybe even as a mother to the young girl.
"Don't hurt her?" Murphy asked amused, his tone low and breathy in Indigo's ear, "Okay, I'll make you a deal. You come with me right now, I will let her go." Charlotte stared at Indigo for a moment before glancing at Bellamy, considering her choices.
"Don't do it, Charlotte." Indigo croaked outโ Charlotte had her whole life ahead of her, Indigo's was already supposed to endโ she would've already been dead, so, it didn't matter if she died right now.
Charlotte then began to step forward, and Bellamy almost hesitated to hold her back. Charlotte then began to try and rip from his grasp again.
"Don't do it, Charlotte!" Indigo repeated louder, her tone in a scolding one, angry at the fact she was almost willing to give her life for Indigo.
Charlotte then began to try harder to fight Bellamy's arm that was in her way, causing him to have to hold onto the resisting child.
"No! No, I have to!" Charlotte screamed, trying so hard to break away from Bellamyโ who just held her back tighter.
Charlotte slowly calmed downโ and Bellamy kept a hand in front of Charlotte, as he turned around to face Indigo and Murphy again.
"Murphy, this is not happening," Bellamy said, which caused Murphy to bring the knife closer to Indigo's
neckโ which made Indigo hiss in pain when the knife made a small cut on her throat.
"I can't let any of you get hurt anymore." Charlotte spoke, causing everyone to look at the younger girl, who was almost sobbing, "Not because of me. Not after what I did." Charlotte's voice slowly became quiet, as she stared at the ground.
Charlotte then turned to the cliff, Indigo's eyes widening at the sightโ and there was nothing she could do. Murphy quickly let go of Indigo in surprise. Charlotte then quickly jumped off the cliff.
"Charlotte!" Indigo yelled out, her tone desperate as she quickly rushed to the cliff, Bellamy trying to catch the girl.
"No!" Bellamy shouted as Indigo collapsed at the edge of the cliffโ this being her final straw. Indigo's eyes began to well with tears, as Clarke rushed to the cliff.
Indigo then felt everything freeze for a momentโ she couldn't take this anymore. Her thoughts began to poison her, but Bellamy quickly kneeled next to her, as the two stared down the cliff.
Bellamy put a hand on her upper back, but this time Indigo wasn't disgusted at the action. Indigo let out a small sobโ barely enough for anyone to hear. Bellamy then rubbed his thumb on the girl's shoulder, before removing itโ standing up, and turning to Murphy.
"Bellamy." Murphy began, but Bellamy quickly charged at Murphy, causing Indigo to turn to the chaos. Indigo stood upโ along with Clarke who was beside her.
Bellamy pushed Murphy to the ground quickly and began to punch Murphy in the face repeatedly. As if he couldn't stop. Indigo then wiped any tears that might've shown and rushed over to Bellamy.
"Bellamy, stop! You'll kill him!" Clarke yelled
outโ Bellamy ignored the blonde's words, his hands covered in blood as he hit Murphy over, and over again.
"Bellamy!" Indigo shouted, pulling him out of his vengeance daze. Bellamy then looked up at Indigo who's tone was full of desperation.
Finn then pulled Bellamy back, "Get off of me!" Bellamy shouted at Finn who pulled him away from Murphy, "He deserves to die."
"No!" Indigo quickly stood in front of him, "We don't get to fucking decides who lives and dies!" Indigo snapped at Bellamy, her words scolding him.
Clarke then nodded, "Not down here we don't." she said to Bellamy. Bellamy's eyes panned between the two who stood in front of him, his eyes landing on Clarke.
"So help me god, if you say the people have a right to decide-" Bellamy began to yell at Clarke, not wanting to hear the same speech she constantly preached about.
"No, I was wrong before, okay?" Clarke cut off Bellamy's words, "You were right. Sometimes it's dangerous to tell people the truth."
"But I swear, Bellamy." Indigo spat out, "If we're all going to survive down here, we can't just live by 'whatever the hell we want'" Indigo said, her tone hoarse.
"We need rules," Clarke said, her tone barely pulling back from the crying that she had been doing. Bellamy then ran his hand over his faceโ his knuckles full of crimson, that told Indigo what Bellamy could do.
"And who makes those rules, huh?" Bellamy questioned with a sniffle, "You?" he said dryly, his eyes glaring at Clarke.
"For now, we make the rules. Okay?" Clarke stepped in front of Indigo, blocking her vision from
Bellamyโ oddly enough, slightly pissing Indigo off.
"So, what, then?" Bellamy's eyes glanced over Clarke's shoulder at Indigo, "We just take him back and pretend like it never happened?" Bellamy scoffed at Clarke.
"No!" Clarke began, glancing over at bloody Murphy, then back to Bellamy, "We banish him." she deadpanned, Bellamy's eyes only locked onto
hersโ causing something odd to twist in Indigo's stomach.
Indigo then sighed and backed up running her hands on her face, but Bellamy suddenly pushed passed Clarke and Indigo, grabbing Murphy by the color of his shirt.
"Get up," Bellamy growled at him, pulling him over to the cliffโ Indigo's heart almost jumped out of her chest, thinking of Charlotte who had just taken her life.
"Bellamy! Stop!" Clarke shouted out at him, as Indigo stepped forwardโ her blue eyes widened at the horrid scene.
"If I ever catch you near camp," Bellamy said lowly and raspy into Murphy's ear, "We'll be back here. Understand?" Bellamy asked and received a weak nod from Murphy. Bellamy then threw Murphy to the ground, "As for the four of you." Bellamy announced to the four in Murphy's crew, "You can come back and follow me, or go off with him to die. Your choice."
Bellamy then grabbed Indigo's bag and pulled her with him, away from the scene. He then moved his hand to her upper back again, Indigo not holding back barf this time.
